This is my first time writing a review for a drama. While watching the drama, I was wanting to write a review.

Overview:
Through out the drama, I was able to feel so many emotions and I could totally connect with the drama. Though this is a light romance drama, the interaction between Woo Bo Yeong (Female Lead Character) and Ye Je Wook (Male Lead Character ) were totally heart fluttering to watch. It’s a feel good drama to watch, though there are a very few emotional happenings here and there. I have watched so many dramas, but I experienced a unique feeling while watching this drama which I have never felt before.

Likes:
I really liked the way that each episode was connected to a poem which was very meaningful, deep and relatable. Also, there are a number of humorous scenes which made me literally “ROFL”. The scenes between the male and female lead was so natural and good to watch. The life of each character of this drama was beautifully portrayed. I liked the way in which the practical difficulties in the personal lives of the characters were shown and how they tackle and get over them. The stories of the patients were so heart warming and emotional.

Dislikes:
There were certain humorous scenes which I found to be repetitive, that made me to fast forward those scenes. I really disliked the continued failure of the female lead in a number of circumstances, which I feel is a bit artificial / unnatural.

Casting:
I must mention that the casting is perfect and everybody in the drama performed so well and it was totally realistic to watch. Lee Yoo Bi and Lee Joon Hyuk have done an amazing job and they were bang on. Coming to the supporting roles, I personally loved Kim Jae Bum’s acting.

Conclusion:
Overall, the whole essence of the drama totally overshadowed the dislikes that I had in the drama. This drama will always remain to be my favourite. “A Poem a day” is a unique and a must watch drama. For the people who are reading this review, I strongly recommend you to watch this drama and experience a beautiful feeling like I did.

An unusual plot : no heroes, just the daily life of a rehabilitation departement

PLOT: journey and daily life of FL, physiotherapist in the rehabilitation department at the hospital. She is only contractually employed and aspires to have a permanent contract. A young genius therapist arrives in the department, the ML, and the FL will little by little warm his previously wounded heart.

PROS:
+ A great casting. I really like ML who I would like to see again in other dramas.
+ Story focus on romance and daily life of the service, but quite realistic. The psychological evolution of characters is credible
+ Each episode is punctuated with beautiful poetry.
+ lots of humor
+ Excellent OST

CONS:
- no real storyline, apart from the CL romance and obtaining the permanent contract.

=> Not addictive, but nice to see once.

***********************************************************************

Slice of Life Drama with Embedded Poems Throughout

I was recommended to watch this drama as I was looking for a slice of life / inspiration! However, this fell short of my expectations for multiple reasons.

The good:
-The embedded poems throughout the drama. I like how each poem was tied to the theme for every episode.
-Slice of life / life meanings - this is a feel good drama that is pretty wholesome. It reminds me a little of Hospital Playlist mixed with literary elements.
-The side stories: I enjoyed how we got to learn more about each character.

The bad:
-The FL annoyed me SO much. Her nickname is cry baby because she cries at every little thing! At first, it didn't bother me, but after the nth time, I started getting annoyed. I find that she is really over-dramatic at times.
-The romance was unnecessary and took away from the drama's potential! I did not care for the love triangle as I did not really root for either of them. Doctor Ye seemed more like her superior rather than her boyfriend, while Min Ho was immature and treated her terribly. I wish they focused more on character development of the main leads and the side story's of the other characters! I wanted to know more about Nam Woo's story.
-character development: The FL did not have any character growth at all and neither did the MLs. They remained the same throughout the whole drama, which is really disappointing.

Precious Storyline, delicate characters and realistic relationships

I enjoyed this precious drama, very different from the others I have seen.
1- The beautiful poems , perfectly chosen for each situation/episode. I must add that being an old lady very fond of the music existing in the Korean language, I was so happy to hear this lovely poetic lines in their native idiom.
2- The main female character enchanted me. An intelligent, hard-worker and very empathetic physical therapist who had a positive and direct attitude in life and showed a great love, dedication and respect to each of her patients.
3- There was not an annoying and possessive female lead to improve the main leads relationship.
4- All the stories in the plot were interesting
5- The relationship between the main leads was respectful and there were not stupid misunderstandings. They had a good chemistry and ML is so handsome!!!! FL is also a beautiful woman, I think.
6- I think actors were in general good in their roles, they convinced me well.
7 - The plot shows the human side of a paramedical service and the relations between characters 8 sensitive and realistic.
8- It is a short drama, I really hate dramas with 50 chapters where in general, they lack inspiration and repeat the same clichés like amnesia, breakup forced by a family member or ridiculous misunderstandings all along , as well as
scenes in repeat mode to recall memories.
9- It has a happy ending.

I TOTALLY LOVED THIS DRAMA...
It was super smooth and healing. If you wish to take a brake from all those serious and emotional dramas , then this drama may help you. It made me laugh a lot , and the characters were all portrait in a positive way and that made this drama a better one.
Still talking about its negatives :
> The character Dr. YE needed a bit of development , actually a lot though .
> Dr. YE is one among the main leads and that means his feelings and thougths needs to be exposed to the public.
> Though he's a main lead his portions were no better than that of a supporting character. The director could have shown the reasons behind Dr. YE's behavior , his family and the reason behind his last work and his break up. And most importantly the something stage between the leads were not clear. It didn't clearly state Dr. YE's feeling towards the female lead at the starting episodes like how he fell for her and how he had a hard time to know and control his feelings.

In short my one and only problem is that DR. YE [played by LEE JOON HYUK] didn't have a character development by being a main lead while the supporting roles and even actors playing guest roles had the justification for their roles.

This is such an heartwarming drama that's perfect when you want something light and want to feel better. This drama doesn't have a big plot. On the contrary, there are some episodes where it doesn't seem there is a point. But I don't consider that a fault (although I understand that those who love plot twists will find this boring).

The main focus of "A Poem a Day" is reality and the routines of various people of different ages who work as physiotherapists. The story followed what they went through (even though it focused on some characters more than others) and the hardships or joys of their lives, all of that accompanied by beautiful poetry. I think the purpose of the story wasn't to engage the viewer and make him/her wait for the plot twist, but push the viewer to reflect on life and to be comforted by the words of the poems. Like I said, the drama followed the routine of these people, and it showed that sometimes life gets better while other times it's not the right moment yet and we have to keep holding on to get what we want. Of course there were also funny moments (I laughed a lot watching this drama) as well.

The main storyline mainly revolved around the female protagonist Woo Bo Young. She was very likeable, at times naive, but very enjoyable and realistic as a character. I think the point here was to see her grow up, especially in the love department. She easily likes people, so this drama as a "sort of" love triangle that was shown to make us see how Bo Young grows from immature love (represented by the immature Min Ho) to mature love, represented by Doctor Ye. But Boo Young also grows by doing her job, and gains more experience. So "A Poem a Day" is most of all Bo Young's journey. After all, she is the one who wanted to become a poet.

Regarding the cast, I had watched Lee Yoo Bi in other dramas and I knew she was good. This drama made me discover Lee Joon Hyuk (who I think should be the male lead somewhere, sooner or later). I really liked their pairing on the drama because they had chemistry. I also liked the rest of the cast because you can tell they all got along while filming, making me believe that they were a tight group of friends IRL.

I can just repeat that this drama may not be anyone's cup of tea. But if you're in the mood for light, cute, no strings attached, emotional... then you should watch this. If you want a drama that'll play mind games with you... then this is not good for you.

STORY: I hate to say this but this drama didn't really leave that much of an impression to me it was a slow start and at the end I ended up skipping some parts. But I liked the idea of a story of other professions in the medical field (Actually I am a Physical therapist myself so I can really relate on this show, unfortunately it just didn't clicked to me as much as the other shows). Although, I actually did liked the poems shown in the show it was nice and lovely.
CAST: Atlast! Lee Yu Bi finally has a lead role, I keep on seeing her on a lot of drama's actually but she was never the lead hahaha, I loved her in pinocchio (she was so cute) she's a good actress indeed. Also, the main lead and second lead (I don't remember their names) were so cute and handsome!!!
MUSIC: Honestly, the music didn't grip to me and I can't remember any tunes unless I search it up on youtube or something, it's just forgettable to me (sorry!)
REWATCH VALUE: Err, so far, I haven't rewatched this show yet since I was done watching it months ago... but I would probably just watch this just because I liked the change of heart and character of the male lead in this show, I liked that he was so aloof and nonchalant in the earlier episodes and gets to be so sweet and lovely the next (especially when he tries to hide their relationship and FAILS, bwahahaha)
OVERALL: 8/10 - could have been higher if they atleast had a lot of kissing scenes, LOL (but sadly they only had two or three if I'm not mistaken)

UNDERRATED

Found this drama after almost 3 year after the release. I feel that this drama is so underrated I guess?? It's so good and cute story. This drama actually deserve to be my top 10 Korean drama all time.

Let's talk about the storyline. it's just a simple and light storyline, no plot twist at all but it's still good. Compared to another medical korean drama, this drama more focused on the romance instead of medication itself. It's make sense because it's only about rehabilitation and therapy. I just have problem with the ending. (SPOILER). Why the clear couple not reveal about their relationship to their colleagues???? Gosh I'm actually waiting for that moment. I want to see their colleagues reaction!!!! It's must be fun but the director doesn't put that part. Such a waste or I just miss that part????

The acting is just so so for me. No lacking for all cast. Such a great work especially the both main lead. Not gonna talk about that because I'm not an expert about acting career lololol

Ah. The poem in this drama actually so good. I'm writing all the poem in every episode into my diary.

this drama just to watch once when u want something smooth without giving u a headache
i really enjoyed the acting it was brilliant

but i didn't see anything extraordinary at the story at all
or see the significance behind

yes it shows how all we had our own prob. to deal with
but many times i felt the stories are parallel to each other & had no connection

and the romance was reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaally COLD really

the drama had many open endings for most of the stories
which established the feeling inside me that the drama was for sure ( lukewarm) and the plot wasn't strong

any way it's for sure not my cup of tea

After watching a whole slew of Korean dramas with similar plot lines, A Poem A Day was a very refreshing watch.
The story was unique, the relationship building between the different characters was quite good. There weren't any instances or scenes where anything was left unsaid or kept the viewer in mystery. I loved the OST, the cast and a very unique fact was that this drama is quite simple.
There are no plot holes, or complexities as you see in other K- dramas. All in all this was a very interesting watch and I would further go on to say that this drama is a must watch for those who love the Romantic Comedy Genre!
