Disappointment on the story

In the beginning, I really enjoy the drama concept who provides a poem for every episode.

they give advice and the story also portrays the struggle of life, but in the early episode, it is really disappointed because the story plot is just so-so and predictable.

There is no detail or relationship between Dr.Ye and the FL, mostly I can see is the development character of BoYoung and MinHo.

It is disappointment bcse from the title we expect the story to have some twist and giving the piece of life story

This is your not-so-ordinary medical Korean drama. To be honest, I like this kind of medical drama more than those with surgeries and stuff. I'm afraid with blood and the like ;c

The story, as I've said, is different from the typical medical ones. There's actually no plot from my observation and it's just about the lives of the doctors and what they do in the hospital. They also added some poems in which I live for. I like that they don't just focus on the main character but also the side characters. They opened up problems but they were unable to close some. which I really want to know what happened to this and that... but it's okay I'll make my own scenario. (LOL). The romance is very slow which I like, though.

As for the characters, I loved the tandem of baby Joo Young and Dae Bang Dae Bang. But I didn't quite like the attitude and their development.... it was very slow, but I understand. No plant will eventually become a tree. It takes time to grow. :)

The music perfectly matches up the drama. I love it.

As for the re-watch value... It's a light drama and it's really fun to watch. I recommend it but I may or may not re-watch.

. . .
This is only MY OPINION, it is still up to you if you want to watch it or not.

It's not great.

Up until recently this has been the most recommended drama that I have yet to watch. People just kept recommending it to me over and over again. I kept procrastinating, because I dislike love triangles and oh boy the triangle sure is annoying in this one. The biggest problem is the second ML being a forking stink button, his toxic personality is not something that I could have ever tolerated in a romantic comedy. Another significant issue is all the character rewrites that we've gotten, character micro adjustments are unfortunately pretty normal in kdramas, but here it's pretty extreme & not only that, but multiple characters had personalities that were just all over the place.

The OTP romance is not that great. ML's robotic acting & weird fake smiles sure did not help with the immersion. Also the leads did not really grow as a couple & their relationship was super weird in a bad way.
Even the comedy is just whelming. Even if I ignore the triangle thing, what's left is still mediocre.
Some of the patients had touching stories, but compared to Hospital Playlist this is not worth mentioning. The poems felt like an afterthought, they were not bad or anything, but some of them felt quite forced.

The best thing about the drama is without a doubt Lee Yoobi. This is the first time I've seen her in a main role, but she was absolutely radiant. No one could possibly accuse her of not having the glow of THE main character. I've seen her playing the crazy sasaeng-ish archetype multiple times, I never thought she would be so great in this one.

Definitely a slow moving drama, the plot didn't really reveal itself till about halfway through the drama. The first half of this drama is mostly build up- the characters participating in the love triangle are revealed and early character traits are shown to leave room for development throughout the other half of the episodes. The fact that's it a slow drama is not a bad thing! I personally don't mind slow dramas as I can take my time to watch them however, I did think about dropping this.
The reason being how slow it was, but I decided to give it another try and make my decision through the next episode. From there I decided that I would keep watching it through to the end as I really wanted to know how the love triangle would play out. In the end I'm happy I watched this but I don't see myself watching this again, it's kind of a one time watch drama.

A Poem a Day (2018) - I really like how the drama started, as being familiar with the hospital setting and seeing that this medical drama focuses more on things that are unfamiliar to non-medical people, I truly appreciate the fact that they pursued this drama. I also like that it is true to the drama’s title name, there is always a ‘poem’ in every episode. Being a slice of life drama genre, I am into this drama, lighthearted drama but has in impact. The bad side for me is that the main leads does not really have a chemistry romantically. Still, I like how they unfold the romance part of the drama, and truthfully I am very much pleased with who end up with each other. I think it's hard for me to see Lee Joon Hyuk in a romance drama so far base on what I have seen in his other roles but I look forward to it in the future. This is just my third Lee Joon Hyuk drama that he is the main lead and I am satisfied. Jang Dong Yoon as Minho suits him as well, and I find him more charming here compared to Tale of Nokdu. I also like the side characters of this drama, I find them almost all likeable and relatable at the same time. This drama is one of my recommended dramas for sure.

I just finished watching this show. Even though I started it just to kill some time, I ended up loving it and finishing it in 2 days actually!
What I really loved about the show was how genuine the human emotions were shown. I love that we were able to emphatise with all the characters, we were able to see their side of story. And I love that in the end Bo Young went with the doctor! But that being said, I also felt like Min Ho’s storyline basically ended around the episode 13, which I wish it didn’t. But I love that in the show we see that sometimes even the main lead wouldn’t get the happy ending, because in life sometimes we have them and sometimes we don’t.
I think all the characters were successfully portrayed. I loved that all of them are very relatable in real life.
In the end, I think it’s a different flavor to the cliché korean dramas, and it’s totally worth giving a shot!!

A beautiful and understated slice of life drama that had me smiling, laughing and fanning away my tears (pun intended of course). I love the title "You Who Forgot Poetry" so much more. It really resonates. This drama indeed reminded me of how heartfelt poetry can be and how it can express raw emotions. You might come across a lot that this drama didn't have enough swoon, or didn't have enough big plot moments. Which is kinda true. But to me, the drama wasn't about those things. It was about the ups and downs of life, about the day to day struggles; simply put: the human experience. I for one am going to miss the bromance between Joo Yong Joo Yong and Dae Bang. I'm going to miss Woo Bo Yeong's sunny personality and bright disposition, Dr. Ye for just being Dr. Ye (insert heart eyes), Min Ho's childishness, the alligator, and each and every side character, who were all perfect in their own struggles, imperfections and subtle character growths.

May I give you some advice? Just watch this drama.

a heartwarming story and beautiful poems each episode

I think people should watch this. It has all packages from funny scene to fluttering romance. For me, it's quite refreshing ! It also talks about your future, dreams and career. How the female lead loves poems but she pursue another career as a physical therapist to have a stable career rather than a poet. I can totally relate with this.

Regarding that, the female lead still do her best in her job and she still loves poems even use it as a comfort for patients also. The male lead is totally has fine character. Not the typical drama character he's mature and not too cringey or too much. He's just like normal guy and of course the way they date. All of the character and their stories are relate-able.

Looking at their romance journey in each episode totally warms my heart. How the female lead were actually turned down by both male leads but she finally got her happiness. What I like from this drama is that they potrait a healty romance relationship.

Underrated

I watched the drama without any expectations. I didn't expect the drama to be a masterpiece and tbf it's not the greatest drama out there. However, the drama pleasantly surprised me. It was good, enjoyable, and very relaxing.

There were no relevant plot, so if you prefer drama that keeps you on your toe this might not be for you. It was more of a healing drama that focuses on the fl and her love of poetry. I love the leads together and they had a really cute and healthy relationship that I ended up liking them so much. The second male lead was annoying in the beginning but his character development was nice.

It is a good drama and I recommended it. Give it a try, you might like it. :)

After almost 2 years of frequenting this site without an account, I signed up to write a review for this cause I felt the score and one of the top reviews weren't doing it justice. xD

I don't write reviews for anything much so kindly bear with me. I'm not really versed when it comes to storytelling/writing, acting or music so I won't go into (too) much depth. And rather than objectively stating how those are, I will describe how I subjectively perceived them.

Story: I think this has a nice story that also flows nicely. Everything seemed to make sense and fit together well. It's pretty laidback in my opinion and not very dramatic, but still passed surprisingly fast. I usually get bored easily regardless of what genre I'm watching but this drama kept me curious and entertained throughout the whole thing. (Especially after the male lead entered the picture too once the setting up was done in the first episode)

Acting/cast: so spot on. I think everyone did their part well and especially the main lead couple was very fitting to me. Woo Bo Young, the emotional, hardworking and friendly contractor and Ye Je Wook, the straightforward, outwardly cold (and awkward) but inwardly caring new doctor come together in their workplace, the rehabilitation section of a big hospital. Those two fluffballs (>w<). They're both mature, strong and understanding and make a great couple. Their relationship is not super passionate as you may see in other dramas but the way they interact and show their affection for each other is just so precious to me. Really, Lee Yoo Bi and Lee Joon Hyuk did a great job on this.
Same for the second male lead. It's nice to see this rich but lonely brat come to care for someone and mature a bit too. I read some comments saying they couldn't stand the brattiness and the way Min Ho treated Bo Young but as a generally understanding person, I didn't find this too problematic. Sure, he's a jerk, but over the course of this drama, you will come to understand why he's still so immature and inconsiderate at his age. Thumbs up for Jang Dong Yoon portraying this sad brat xD

Music: I guess it was nice, I don't remember most of it though. There's this one song that stuck with me ... "youth these days" by Stella Jang. It really fit the show with its gentle and calm but also a bit sad vibe.

Rewatch Value: most of the time, I don't rewatch things. I'd rewatch parts of this though, mainly the lead couple interactions, they're just too cute >w<

Overall: This is a relaxing show with a slice of life vibe to it. You get a glimpse of the characters' lives, their happiness and struggles and come to understand and feel with all of them to some degree. In that way, it kind of reminds me of "Just Between Lovers", which has a similarly understanding and gentle feel to it. The interactions are nice, the romance is precious and it's very funny too. I really recommend it :)

(Of course, the criticism some people have is valid too, however I liked it a lot regardless. Nothing is perfect but this show is in my subjective opinion so precious and awesome that I gave it an overall perfect score ^_^)

An awkwardly put together drama at times but still very endearing and worth watching.

The story was very simple and very surface level. Some of the main characters lack depth, our male lead in particular, Dr Ye Je Wook. It almost feels like he's not a main character, but rather a support character. His past isn't much looked into as far as his past relationship goes and while I appreciate that it doesn't follow the typical story of the Ex trying to break up his relationship with Bo Young, it's basically dropped entirely. Just stuff like this could've been done to boost the whole series. The finish of the series sort of ends on a squib too with a few people saying goodbye and there being no real follow up. They didn't make good use of the pacing either. But don't worry about the criticisms as the characters are all enjoyable inspite of their flaws such as Bo Young being a cry-baby, Shin Min Ho being a child basically, etc as it kinda makes theme more relatable and easier to like in the end. One addition to the drama I like is the side duo in the Radiology department. The comedy between those two is consantly one-point. They are both the opposite people but the same people. The whole hospital cast makes the show and story worthwhile. What is also a highlight is the relationship between Bo Young and Dr Ye. It's very sweet, even before they get together. The triangle wasn't a great part of the drama as Min Ho works much better as the friend throughout the show but I get why it's in there.

The acting is good. It fits the tone of the show and it's plots when convinent. The leads are all strong, even if they aren't the best developed. The chemistry between the cast was nice. Even when they were mean to each other, it was all endearing .

Not that bad but not as good either! But at least it puts a smile on my face.

I almost dropped this series. Stayed and finished it because of Lee Joon Hyuk. Hihi. I think this is the first drama I've seen him. He kind of look like a mature version of Ji Chang Wook.

What I loved about this series:
1. Poems!! I don't regularly read poems like Bo Young but I love randomly reading them. And this show shows a good collection of poems.
2. Dr. Ye - his cold attitude makes me fall for him. And the efforts he put on last episode melts my heart. Hihi.
3. Inspirational. Shows how efforts surely paid off. Also the side stories about the Patients and side stories of the supporting roles.
4. The love story. They showed that you will never be too much nor too cringy for someone who really loves you. FL was previously rejected because of the same reason why she's now appreciated. (Love it!) Though the romance is not enough as I want more. Hehe
5. Bromance! Hihi. Dae bong x Joo yong and Minho x Nam Woo ( x Joo yong) Hihi. They're cute.

What I hated.
1. Repetitive jokes/ funny scenes. There are scenes where Minho would always say 'Just kidding', he used  this line too much. Also Dae bong's indecisiveness is funny at first but it kind of irritates me after some time. I don't know but there are scenes where the writer is trying to be funny but not funny to me.
2. The opportunities Bo young keeps on getting but not being given to her properly. I hated how she keeps on being disappointed. Give the girl what she deserved. (Though at the end she got what she deserved but I still felt bad for her.)
3. The girl interns. I hate their attitude. They're both 2-faced towards Bo young.
4. Rude attitude of Minho towards Boyoung around Ep 14. It's just too much. I know he is childish, I know he felt betrayed, he's heart broken but that doesn't give him the ticket to be so rude and to think that he's so rude to the girl that he likes. He said sorry, yeah. But that's just too much.

Anyway, it's still watchable and still depends on the one watching. So please give it a try.
