Watch if you have spare time

Compare to clean with passion for now, this chinese remake is not fantastic. Some scenes are unnecessary, and a handful of incoherrant exchanges between characters.
Comic relief scenes were poorly executed.

Main characters.

Male character acting is quite good.
Supporting male actor are pretty bad.

Female character poor acting skill. Some will politely called it cute. Perhaps i can agree if this is a drama for kids.
Ironically, the two supporting females characters in this show have way better acting skill yet limited screen time.

My advice
- Watch clean with passion for now if you are choosing between the two.

Visually and at face-value, it’s quite entertaining. The director employed all tricks to heighten tension with all the close-ups before kiss scenes and crying scenes. Even the usual slow-motion during dramatic scenes is repeatedly done.

For the story itself, I felt a bit disconnected aside from the romance. SSJ had probably only one or two real good scene with her family. Same with GRQ, his relationship with his family was barely addressed. It would have been better had they developed SSJ and GRQ characters outside being a couple more. The main leads felt they only live for each other at times. In many ways that feels very romantic but also very unrealistic and “all fiction”.

All in all it’s a cute fluff and shall be recognized for that chemistry and cute sweet scenes but a bit lacking in all the other stuffings needed for a truly memorable drama.

Better than the original, pretty decent adaption

Gu Ren Qi is a CEO of a cleaning company but he's suffering from extreme mysophobia. Quite opposite of his character Shuang Jiao enters his life and both affect each other for the better.
Original vs. Remake:
This is a remake of the original story 'Clean With Passion for Now'. If I had to choose one I would go with the remake. Because the remake had the change that I expected in the original one. The original one portrays the FL in a very unhygienic way. Also the cause of the ML's mysophobia (the playground incident) was disturbing to watch. Other aspects were way to melodramatic and the couple didn't seem compatible. The Chinese remake smoothened those parts for better. Although the Chinese adaption has some unnecessary
fillers.
Story:
Going to the story nothing extraordinary. Just another romcom. At a phase the story telling seemed plain more like inconsistent. It had a lot of clichés. Specially the proposal dance.
Acting:
Jasper Liu and Shen Yue gave their best as usual. They portrayed their characters decently. All other characters were satisfactory. Psychiatrist Lu Xian seemed irritating at a point (at initial episodes I thought I might get 2nd lead syndrome for his unrequited childhood love. I gladly take back my words). His methods felt contradictory to medical practice. Mostly cdramas have multiple couple, who sweeten the story more. But the 2nd couple didn't create that much impact.
OST:
The thing that was impressive other than acting was the OSTs. The visuals were pretty nice.

To sum up it's a decent watch. The couple are nice to watch. If you're up for fluff it's worth the watch. Ignoring a few clichés it's not a bad choice for romcom.

Watachable but not amazing

Sigh. I don't know. Maybe I just prefer the Korean version more ? Clean with passion for now had everything I wanted; whereas this show had too much fluff/over the top, grand scenes that just kind of really turned me off ? For example the proposal scene was sooooo extravagant that it was cringey and then the scene where the female lead took the male lead for his birthday cake on the bridge was another one. When a show is too focussed on unbelievable love declarations and grand gestures, it loses my interest. I just don't buy into all that sappy love bullshit.

I will say that the side couples were adorable. The female lead's brother and her bestfriend were given more screntime in this adaptation which was nice. I shipped them in both the Korean and this drama so I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop and be explored more. I also liked the male lead's friend/assistant and his girlfriend.

The second lead syndrome was strong in this drama too. And even though in both dramas I did like the leads together, my heart was breaking for the second leads. I think I definitely prefered the female lead with the second leads in both.

Overall, this was watchable for a remake but I have learned that the original is always better. The one positive thing that I took from this was the side couple were better developed.

It was cute! Nothing special though.

an enjoyable watch.

pros:
- story is cute! admittedly, it’s nothing out of the box but it was enjoyable nonetheless
- romance was fluffy :) lots of cute scenes between the leads and the ML treated the FL very nice!
- acting was good (ish...). jasper did a good job. i found SY’s acting was so so in this. some feelings i felt werent conveyed properly in more romantic scenes and that affected their chemistry a little bit they still made a cute couple.
- i loved the way this was filmed. the sometimes skewed camera was so such a nice touch. the lighting was so lovely too! in the beginning, the ML was always in dark lighting while the FL was in warm. once they met, he was presented in a warm lighting more! small detail but didn’t go unnoticed :D
- the bodyguard side couple was sooooo cute
- nice extra episode. rare u get to see FL pregnant and married life.

cons:
- the climax (?) of the drama was written so poorly. i get the whole FL being hurt because of the ML’s fam trope but they did not convey that well in this drama, poorly built up as well and felt rushed. it was such a drag and i skipped loads at this part.
- SML was annoying lol normally they are jarring but this one, i skipped all his parts.
- FL’s bro’s side couple was weird. he’s fresh out of high school, no?
- FL should have proposed to ML in the end. he was wronged by her and put through so much sadness and for her being irrational.
- as i said, story was cute but it was not that interesting. it’s rare i find cliches boring because i’m a big fan of them, but this was kind of boring lol proceed with caution ig?

overall, 7.5/10. it was nice and average. i haven’t watched the kdrama version but i don’t think i will after this lol
watch it to pass time but not to make ur time fun?

CEO who is a germaphobic who falls in love

This drama is a solid 9, would have given it a 9.5 if not for the last five episode!
Overall the drama is really interesting and loved all the pairings! There were a total of three pairs. 1) Female and male lead
2) female lead's bro and female lead's best friend 3) male lead right hand man and a famous vlogger

I usually dont like the side characters having too much screen time but the other two couples was too cute !!! The female and male lead pairing is also super cute. Male lead is an ceo of an cleaning company, he develops germophobia from a young age due to his grandfather words always saying he is dirty and pressuring him to get 100 points and be the best. Female lead comes from a poorer background, dirtyish , and works a lot of jobs to help her father out. Her mom died in an car accident a couple years back. She also has a brother who is just graduate high school.

The male lead encounters the female leads many times and she ends up landing a job as part of the cleaning crew . Initally he thinks she is lazy and has a motive towards him, but slowly he realizes that she is hardworking and very sunny. His germophobia starts to lessen towards her and he falls in love with her. The male lead is doing therapy during this time. his therapist is living next door to female lead's house. He helps her from time to time.

Why did i dock .5 away? 1) I felt like the drama was too smooth up until ep 20. After that there was a bump but that scenario wasnt clearly explained or developed. It felt all of a sudden! There was slight character development, the female lead went from just being a cleaning crew to being a manager and offering her ideas to the group. The male lead on the other hand didnt have much progress with his germophobia.

The story of the right hand man and the vlogger was cute. RIght hand man is kinda blockish but stills know how to chase after the vlogge. They have some cute scenes together.

Also the brother and best friend is cute too. Best friend is older than the brother but he still pursues her. They have some moments that make your heart stop too !

For the leads they have a good amount of kissing scenes. It's like the male lead is only immune to the female leads germs. Always wanting to kiss her. The kisses were cute and believable , not just a peck on the lips. Jasper Liu is just way too cute and good looking! I love his dimples so much!

Something was missing...

I'll start by saying that I loved Clean with Passion for Now. What did I love about it the most? The friendships that developed and the comedy. Both of these things were missing here.

Jasper Liu was good, though the way his character was written, he seemed more "prissy" than a germophobe. It seemed to me like they brought out the disorder only when there was nothing else going on. It didn't flow throughout the show. I must say, though, that toward the end, when Jasper's character was especially traumatized, his acting was excellent.

Shen Yue did an okay job, but again, I have to fault the writing more than the acting. The hairdresser and costume designer for her should have been fired. She wore the most ridiculous outfits, and the Pipi Longstocking braids were just laughable.

The main leads had good chemistry. There were some good kisses, and they were sweet together.

Second male lead - hated the way he was written. In CWPFN, you really felt an empathy toward him, but in this version I just hated him. First, can we talk about professional ethics? You can't just go around telling everyone about the problems your patient is having! I felt that a lot of what he did was underhanded, just because he wanted the girl.

The other two couple storylines were okay, but I felt that the main couple's character development suffered because so much time was taken up with them. As it was, I found myself fast forwarding through a lot of this show.

The music was beautiful.

The ending was okay. If you are so inclined, there is a bonus episode on YouTube that addresses after the wedding.

Way Better

The Chinese version definitely took more time with the story and utilized characters compared to the Korean version Clean With Passion For Now. Shen Yu isn’t my favorite actress but this role was done pretty well compared to when she first started acting. She’s coming along and I still watch her dramas bc of her progress Jasper was fantastic acting. Is the drama perfect no, but would I recommend it yes. I would recommend this version and rewatch it once in awhile compared to the other train wreck.

Weird age gap???

This could definitely just be me but the 2 main leads are 10 years apart in real life and that is very apparent throughout the show. Shen Yue's character even dresses very young compared to Jasper Liu's which add to the icky feeling i get when i see the intimated scenes. The chemistry was good don't get me wrong, I just don't like how young she felt. I feel like especially since she is significantly younger than Jasper they should have tried to make her look older or him look younger while still keeping the essence of their personalities. In the end, I was more interested in the 2 side couples and their stories/relationships.

Much better adaptation

I wanted to see if this adaptation was better than the Korean one I dropped a few months ago. And it is! The chemistry between the two leads are definitely better than in the Korean version and it makes such a difference. I second the other reviews by saying that Shin Ye’s acting has improved a lot. She’s much more mature but still has a sweet girly smile.
Jasper Liu is quite equal to himself. Always sexy and charming. It was funny to see him again in a more restrained drama (I’m referring to the previous “before we got married” who was quite torrid).
The second leads story was, on the other hand a bit boring. Maybe two many second couples? I don’t think that show needed 24 episodes but I still enjoyed the ride throughout.
It’s a drama with all the requisite ingredients: the chase, the “I’m moving in”, the dark past that’s going to threaten the lovers at one point, the second lead syndrome and the happy ending of course. Go for it.
And yes, he’s now my favourite Mr. Gu!

As someone who hasn't watched the Kdrama or read the original source material, I can't tell what the differences or similarities between them and this adaptation are.

Gu Renqi as a character was the usual rich male lead with a trauma. While I did not find his trauma convincing enough at first, I eventually understood it. I also wasn't fond of the fact that everyone around him kept saying his grandfather cared for him as it seemed absolutely nothing like that. It only looked like a selfish grandfather created to make the male lead mysophobic. The way it was settled out was also really quick? Especially since his grandfather never looked like he wanted to give Renqi the closure he needed.

Shi Shuangjiao is also the typical female lead. At first I thought she had a character of her own but at the end, it seemed like she existed just to be a partner for the male lead? There wasn't much I could get from her character.

I'm not sure if they made Lu Xian so dislikeable on purpose, because there was literally no story about him except from the fact that he liked Shuangjiao. Also trying to sabotage their relationship while acting as a therapist was downright low. There were redeemable moments but nothing could really make him better in my eyes after that.

I don't have much to say on Qianqian and Dongqian but I thought they were cute as well.

Wasn't really fond of Zhu Yan and Junjie. Not sure if it was because of how their story was written or how their characters were written.

It seemed like they forgot about the antagonists along the way and the whole story was dragged on for longer than it could take.

The OSTs were beautiful and made it all the more worthwhile.

Overall, this was a sweet, yet simple drama that was able to take me out of a short-lived slump. I hadn't expected much from it but it gave me exactly what I needed. The chemistry of the two main leads were off the charts and their moments they had me grinning from ear to ear. The downside was how simple, predictable and forgettable the plot was. After episode 18, I was wishing the drama would end sooner.

If you're looking for a cute drama without the deep plot and complicated storylines, then this is definitely for you.
