When you look at the story, It's simply about daily life of doctors and different kinds of cases to confront with, but it's actually much more than that. It's about accepting the challenges that life brings you every day - win over and you'll become much more skilled doctor and a way better person than you were before. Doctors can change the lives of patients, but patients' stories can change the lives of doctors as well. You can feel their stories and realize how valuable your life is. Sometimes you'll tear up, sometimes you'll laugh, naturally some stories are better than others, but every story, every episode has it's own meaning.
We have four young people in this drama, each of them with a totally different personality, using their own, different ways to reach the top of their medical careers. We also have the senior doctors with their own stories, experiences and hardships to go through. I really liked how they chose the patients - almost every patient had a story to help our heroes to get over their fears or troubles.
Actors did an amazing job portraying their roles and for Yamapi's fans - i have to say - this was one of the best roles he ever played, if not even the best, but that's my personal opinion after all. Girls were also fantastic.
As for music, I'm giving it 10, since i feel like it was suitable and i don't think it was the big factor in this drama. I would watch it even without music.
Be patient if you don't understand some medical terms, it's not that important for the story but believe me, you'll get to learn them quickly. Anyway, if you're not expecting fairytales, I'm sure you'll like this drama. It's pure reality.
And at the end, I'd like to explain why I gave it 9 and not 10. Actually, it's simple - only because I liked the second season more. It gave me the stronger impression although both have the same meaning.
Enjoy watching it!

Anyway, once again, here is a Japanese drama with a highly new kind of concept. I have never seen a show with flight doctors in it. This was very thrilling to watch. Every episode had something very different to offer and I liked that. I find medical cases to be interesting and they give me adrenaline rush. The execution of the overall plot made the show very believable. I am always awed at the life of doctors because they are such tough people. This drama shows their trials and tribulations perfectly.
The only thing lacking was the lack of good characterization. While the professional life is portrayed well, a little more emphasis on their personal lives could have made this show perfect. Each character had enormous potential to be outstanding but this one aspect is kind of left incomplete. But still, this show is very good and I heartily recommend it to anyone and every one who likes good medical dramas.

Code blue is a series where you can see the daily work of doctors. Even in the worst condition, a doctor has to stay calm and work with all his/her might to save a person´s life. LIFE - it´s a miracle to stay alive and in a critical point - it´s all in a doctor´s hand. This drama really proves it. It truly inspired me. It´s a sweet story of 4 young doctors who all try their best to save lives of people who have been caught in accidents.
This story has great actors, good storyline, the right music and wisdom you need. It will make you happy to see how people try their best to help each other. You´ll learn about people´s relationships, about hardships of a doctor and mostly - yo´ll learn many new thigns about life.
I love the drama. I think that it´s on of those YOU have to watch, because no other drama has this storyline. Every episode is thrilling.
And guess what? You´ll probably think that what you´re watching is reality cause acting is too good to be true. Thanks to Toda Erika, Aragaki Yui and Yamashita Tomohisa, you´ll get hooked to it.
Give it a try and you won´t regret!

Story: This drama is all about medicine and the situations hospitals and staff face, and although this drama is not one that leaves you on the edge of your seat with the end of each episode, the story is paced well that makes you intrigued; wondering the possibilities that lie with every new episode and what new challenges are faced. The reality aspect I found in this drama was the fact that the challenges each individual and team faced are easily understood by the audience as we are easily able to sympathize with them.
Acting: The acting was beautifully done- although you could tell that just some actors/actresses may not be the best; their characters mature and grow more in-depth that will make you sympathize and feel as if you knew them personally.
Music: The music was skillfully picked- although the tracks were limited to a certain number of songs, it was appropriate and it sounded amazing. Downloaded several of the tracks myself.
Rewatch: I would definitely rewatch both seasons, as I truly enjoyed this drama, as it is one of the rare dramas that focuses only on the medical aspect, staying true to the end.
*Genres: Medical: 100% heavily focused on; medical dramas lovers approved.
Romance: Unless you squint very hard and tilt your head a bit, perhaps you may be able to see some romance developing, however instead of the lover romance; I found that family romance in the individual stories of the patients and actors were slightly more prominent.
Conclusion? Give this series a try- it would be worth it as it is only 11 episodes for each season- therefore it doesn't drag on at all and you won't feel as if you wasted your time!

There was just the right amount of tension and fear throughout the drama which kept you gripped to see how the story would play out. Some parts of the story were emotional and some were action packed, it definitely was not just blood and gory injuries.
The helicopter being a central part of the drama makes it stand out from other medical dramas as it emphasies the need for treatment in the air and on location after accidents and not just in hospitals.
The cast acted their roles well and each doctor brought a different personality and back story to the drama.
I would highly recommend this drama to those who have not watched it and want a good quality medical drama.

Story: the story of the drama is pretty well set and clear. 4 doctors are on training to become better. At times they usually cared about riding the helicopter more than saving a persons life. I enjoyed how it become their goal to be honest well for one character they wanted to ride on it but had to show they could. The character development was pretty good. I don't really know if they talked about Hiyama and Shiraishi's past a lot or their goal. It was amazing to see the two guys working hard each day for their loved ones. The story of each episode got me interested to watch the whole drama.
Music: Music was fine I got used to the ending song and it was ok. The OST was ok as well it showed up during the right moments.
Cast: Lots of popular actors in this drama especially Yamapi and Aragaki also Toda too. I really like Kuroda-sensei's actor because I've seen him before in Nurse Aoi.
Rewatch: I'll rewatch it again but they do have more seasons and special to keep up with.

A must watch for medical drama lover
This is one of the best medical drama out there in my opinion. I love everything about this series. The stories, characters and casts are great.I love the fact that the story focus on 4 young doctors and a nurse that just start their fellowship program in the Doctor Heli program. We see those doctors grow through out the story and overcome their weakness and find confidence in themself.
I love how they focus more on the cases and the patients. There’s almost no hospital politics that I mostly found boring and tend to be exaggerated. The focus on the patients and their families is a welcome change.
It’s been a while since I watch dorama, been watching Kdrama lately. I must say that I forgot how dorama is not as exaggerated as Kdrama, they play your emotion with more subtlety, there are almost no crying your heart out loudly, less shouting and all those over the top performances. I found I cry more due to the subtle emotion manipulation, because it feel more grounded and real.
Everyone have different personalities and need to adjust to be able to work as a team. Really love Aizawa Kosaku, played by Yamapi, he’s so looks like a cold and rude doctor, but he actually have a really warm heart. Saejima, the nurse also have a really interesting character development. They are the two character that have the most background story, but they also explore the other 3 character background, just not as deep.
I would give the cast/character 10/10 if they flesh out shiraishi character more, I feel like she’s the most one dimensional character here. Not sure whether that’s the writing or the acting that make this character flat, while the other character feels more layered.
Love the music, especially the instrumental background music, really build up the mood. I also love the soundtrack at the end of each episodes. I would definitely rewatch this drama, mostl likely more than once.

Reasons why to watch Code Blue: Doctor Heli
One of the best type medical drama's I have watched it's not over the top were they put a crack team, crack interns, or someone who has medical knowledge like a book and does not faulter until later seasons and they don't show off like they know better than the veteran doctors who have been in the hospital for some time, the story writers really put a lot of effort to hold back and not give the four interns anything special they made them fail and have certain mistakes like a typical intern would have had through out their residency or fellowship and it also explains what their going to do and certain medical procedures it's not just medical talk and no explanation on what the patient is going throught or what's their next course of action I have a thing where if it's not medically accurate then don't learn from it but when I watched Code Blue I was really learning something and felt like I was with the cast in the OR, ER, Scene of the accident, Hospital, or the Heli. I cannot stress enough it's a lot better than most medical drama's. I have watched. Was this review helpful to you?
Over the top
After watching DoctorX I decided to give Code Blue a shot. (preface by no means I am saying DoctorX is the greatest thing since slice bread) I've watched Japanese Dramas for a LONG time and really didn't see the appeal after watching the first ep. of Code Blue other than fan service- Notice how none of the reviews have "beware spoilers" or "I really love the tension between X and Y on the team" because it simply does not develop (not enough to be memorable) . The show is pretty much medical rescue pRon and fan service and if you are into that well, understood.JDramas can be over the top, but this has a different over the top energy. I feel many people love this drama because of Yamashita and Toda or maybe medical is a common field pursed now specially in SE Asia. I am familiar with a lot of the cast from other shows, but in my opinion, Code blue does not bring out the main leads best talent (there roles were not believable) and is over shadowed by the supporting actors who are vets. Maybe the drama is more for a female audience (well so is DocX), and I am simply not the target audience. The show is "action" boring and introduces too many characters in the beginning with the typical "lets expose everyone's weakness" . The music in the show has a "superman hero" like vibe to it which is kinda "cringy" Apparently, there is no romantic interest and the dialogue outside the "medical action" is a SNORE. If one was to remove the medical scenes the dialogue among the actors would be soul sucking and melodramatic, If we were to plug in 4 different leads of the same caliber into Code Blue it would probably push out the same results. Very low chemistry among the actors - . If you like Greg's Anatomy this might be a show for you.
