I've asked this before in different subs and never received a reply... so hopefully this goes better.

Due to work, I'd like to see more Malaysian titles added to this site - putting them up myself, if no other option - but how is this accomplished?
Malaysian cinema is apparently going through a bit of a boom, with a string of action flicks in recent years pulling in large profits, and one of its major producing companies recently signing a deal for a series of Malaysia-Indonesia co-productions.

Anyway, I expect that Malaysian films could soon be on everyone's radar... so how do we add titles and other information?

Currently, MyDramaList is a database that only has information on titles from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines. Titles from other countries outside these seven are not accepted unless they are co-produced with one of the seven on MDL, so unfortunately Malaysian titles would not be accepted.

However, if you are interested in adding missing titles from one of the seven countries on MDL, the you can follow these submission guidelines and submit here.

Thanks, but I'm more into films than series (although I've colleagues who go on about some Malaysian dramas - i.e. One Cent Thief).

That forum is for adding Malaysia in general, not just for dramas (even if the forum title suggests otherwise). If Malaysia is added to the database, then it will include dramas, movies, and TV shows.

Have you looked at Letterboxd? Its primary focus is films. Discovery (finding new titles) is harder there, unless you happen in to some good lists and contacts but the database isn't geo-limited in the ways devs have chosen for MDL. If you know the title already, it can be a great resource.

There are over 800 votes to add Vietnam but we just get the run around from devs, or ignored, so finding other resources for Malaysia is your best bet. If I could code I'd be building a SE Asian-focused site, but alas.

By all means, voice support for getting Malaysia into MDL's database. Just don't hold your breath or anything. Find other means.

Thanks to both of you for your replies and information; I'll be sure to look at Letterboxd, but let's hope that MDL does include more SE-Asian content in the near future.
