Obviously Bollywood and its ever-present "Inspector Vijay" Secondly perhaps whose couple dance circling a pole Indian Movies and Music were immensely popular in my country back in the days, as a matter of fact our local music called Dangdut was a cross between Indian and a traditional music, thus made its way into mainstream audiences (though I never like it hehehe...)
