Tokiwa Takako
- Name: Tokiwa Takako
- Native name: 常盤貴子
- Nationality: Japanese
- Gender: Female
- Born: April 30, 1972
- Age: 52
Tokiwa is one of the most highly praised actresses by both critics and viewers in Japan. She made her sensational debut in Fuji Television drama "Akuma no Kiss" in 1993. Since her debut, she continually appeared on TV series (at most four straight seasons), until she shifted her activities to stage acting when she turned 30. Tokiwa was dubbed as "Queen of Serial Drama" during the 90s because she played various roles from comedy to serious, and all of her appearances were hit. During that period, she won the Television Drama Academy Award for a total of six times - five as Best Actress and once as Best Supporting Actress. Her unforgettable performances include TBS's "Aishiteiru to Ittekure", and also TBS's "Beautiful Life".
Her fame outreached to other Asian countries when she made her film debut in "Moonlight Express", starring with Leslie Cheung in 1999. "A Fighter's Blues" which she co-starred with Andy Lau became number one hit in 2000 Christmas release films in Hong Kong. She was nominated for the "Best Actress" award at the Japanese Academy Awards in 2005 for her performance in "Akai Tsuki".
On October 20, 2009, Tokiwa married the playwright, director, and actor Nagatsuka Keishi after dating for six and a half years. Edit Biography
