I don't get why people like to comment that the FL should have ended up with the SML just because they like his personality better, or how he treated her or all of the reasons people give time and again watching these dramas. How do you watch so many romantic dramas and STILL not grasp that that's not how love works? The FL has liked the ML and ONLY the ML from the get-go. The two guys' personalities are very different. Clearly the SML isn't her type. He's the type of guy she could be great friends with but not feel attraction towards. Had she given in and been with him because of HIS feelings towards her, how would that be a good thing? She'd be settling. Is that what you'd really want for such a nice guy? He should be with someone who genuinely feels the same way for him. Also, the ML is simply more serious and withdrawn. He's more mature. So is she. Why wouldn't his personality be attractive to someone like her? Both are very nice guys. They're just different.
I swear my tolerance level for ignorance on MDL is rapidly deteriorating. My ability to play nice is going down the drain right with it. I've come across some really great people on here but it's annoying as hell to have to sift through the immature and just flat out shitty individuals to find actual feedback that's helpful. 'Helpful' doesn't mean that I have to agree with the opinions. It's perfectly okay to have a completely opposite viewpoint from my own. However, please have a legit reason for your viewpoint AND FOR SHARING IT. Don't just bash for the sake of bashing. If you can't do that then just don't say anything! How difficult is that?!
boring overall the acting was great, zero chemistry between the leads, the characters sucked like the FL is the…
For those questioning whether or not to give this movie a shot please ignore ignorant comments such as these. The FL is NOT they type "everyone" hates in real life. She may be someone YOU dislike but many others find her to be an upstanding, strong and good person. If YOU choose to dislike those qualities so be it, but please refrain from speaking for others.
Now don't get me wrong. The logic of the FL is often ridiculously flawed but it's very telling too. No matter…
The more I watch the more I remember my reaction to watching this the first time, which is something I find strange even saying. But as I watch the main leads' interactions I realize I've had a huge grin on my face the entire time! Then I had a feeling of deja' vu and it hit me that I'd had the same reaction when I watched this before.
I can't tell you how many times I've thought - how in heck did I forget about these characters!

OMG! I'm going through that now too with the visuals! I had forgotten those details and have just been falling into it all so much now that I kept asking myself how I could have forgotten about this one for so long.
'Dynamic' is by far the most accurate word to describe this drama! The writing, cinematography, styling, all of it. Very well said. The application, usage and execution of the flashbacks are so well done. They aren't just thrown in there. They help us understand our characters actions and behaviors along the way. So much of what's happening in the present would seem petty and trivial without them. Yes, there are cliches left and right in this but how they are applied is extremely original and I'm saying this after watching several hundred dramas since coming back to this one now. I'm enjoying it so much.
I feel like those who don't get it only just skimmed the surface. They're missing sooooooooooooooooo much.
I first watched this a couple of years ago and enjoyed it but don't remember it at all now. Anyway, does the lead…
LMAO! I'm a dork for catching this but in ep. 2, when the FL's best friend is consoling her after he bitch roommates lock her out, she says a phrase I've only ever heard in The Karate Kid move (the one with Jaden Smith) - I can't even spell or pronounce any of the words but it sounds like 'Ooh Ji Bi Fan'. The translation on Dramacool is "Good luck is where bad luck ends" but in Karate Kid he was using it to basically tell the violin playing girl that what she needed was a break from all of her practicing.
It just so happens I was babysitting last week and watched that movie so it was wild to hear it used in an actual Chinese drama.

Now don't get me wrong. The logic of the FL is often ridiculously flawed but it's very telling too. No matter what happens it's the ML's fault. The more she behaved that way the more it became obvious that there was more to their history that it seemed and that she was trying very hard NOT to have feelings for him because of some past hurt, which is later explained as the story of their high school days unfolds. I remember getting frustrated with her my first time watching this too but then as the full story unfolded her behavior (defense mechanisms) started making sense.

I agree! I first watched this a couple of years ago and loved it then. Re-watching it now and still find it to be enjoyable so far. I don't remember the details yet but I scanned through a few comments to see what you were referring too and...to be quite frank...those comments are just flat out stupid. Seriously couldn't care less if I offended anyone in saying it. FL treated the ML like a backup? For those who read those comments and are questioning watching the drama I sincerely suggest you watch for yourself and judge. Those people didn't bother paying attention to the story properly at all (most likely skipped parts and such), or are just too shallow to understand the full depth of the dynamics between the lead couple. Their relationship and feelings started in high school so how exactly would the ML be her backup to the guys in college?? Like, make sense people.
I first watched this a couple of years ago and enjoyed it but don't remember it at all now. Anyway, does the lead female antagonist remind anyone else of Olive Oyl, from Popeye? LOL!
I haven't finished this yet and it's been years since I watched one of these adaptations but so far (40 mins in)…
Okay just finished it. I watched this on Dramacool as I wasn't able to locate it on Netflix. Subs on dramacool were terrible though so it became difficult to follow parts of the story in the latter half. As a result I can only rate it based on what I had to work with. However, I still really, really enjoyed it and hope to be able to find it properly subbed on Netflix (or elsewhere) sometime soon so that I can rewatch it properly and enjoy it to the fullest.
This would also make a great mini-series, using the same cast. I say "mini-series" because I think making it full length would only end up ruining it since the writers would draw out aspects of the story that would change the overall mood. This is one that should be kept short and sweet. Maybe making it a 2 part movie or something would work as well.
I haven't finished this yet and it's been years since I watched one of these adaptations but so far (40 mins in) this is my absolute favorite version. The humor actually IS funny! The FL actually IS cute (she's gorgeous and her personality is the sweetest thing ever!)! The ML is a legit snobby douche! The SML isn't annoying!!! He's actually quite adorable (and a hottie!)!
I'm surprised by how impressed I am with this already. Hopefully they'll keep it going through to the end...
The story (all aspects of it) is progressing sooooooooooooo slowly, my gawd. It still somehow has been keeping…
Final Impression: SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED.
I tried to give credit for what I liked in my rating but my disgust with how antagonists were dealt with completely nullified it all. In the end I'm really angry that I watched this. It has ruined my mood.
Things fell into groove again there for a bit there but then, in ep 11, the FL's immature and irresponsible behavior,…
Aaaaaand now a second roommate can thoroughly kiss my ass! This one even more than the first. Like I need to not wash my ass for days before she kisses it! How do you do that not only to you roommate and the rest of the team but to an already ill child! Oh hell no! I can't even begin to process my disgust right now! Not only should the school expel her ass for what she did but the family of the child subject should sue her ass - personally. Not the team. HER! If they pull this whole forgiveness bullshit without repercussions I'm dropping points like crazy for this drama.
OMG she did what she did then proceeded to start working on building her own team to enter the competition? What in ever-loving hell?!!! Basically, in her mind HATE justifies everything. Even if she had been right about what happened the fact that she felt vindicated by all her wrong-doing makes me absolutely sick. Her brother is just as bad as she is. He's been letting the ML take the blame for 3 years! WTF is up with all the despicable people in this drama?! Then whichever one of them it is sends an anonymous letter about the past incident?! What a bitch move! Treating the current case like an accident was a bitch move too. Both siblings completely avoided taking any responsibility for all the damage they caused. I'm DISGUSTED.
This show completely went down the drain for me. The bad severely outweighed the good in this case. I haven't finished watching all of the final episode but contrary to popular opinion on here I'm extremely disappointed with this drama.

The roommate who falsely reported the FL for cheating can thoroughly kiss my ass. The fact that she made it so the FL had to initiate breaking the ice to broach reconciliation made me want to slap the shit outta her. Before that she never attempted to apologize during all that time that had passed. Her actions could have completely ruined the FL's college career had she not been able to prove herself. Even when she explained herself she STILL didn't APOLOGIZE! She only did when the FL told her how much she felt betrayed. What? She couldn't figure that out herself? So what her family life is hard? Get in line you selfish bitch. If your only solution was to completely betray your "friend" in that manner then you and your family deserve every nasty thing that happens to them. I have zero tolerance for these types of "mistakes" in college dramas. They are friggin' adults. They KNOW what they're doing. That just tells me what kind of person they'll be in the real world.
I DO NOT like how that issue was handled. Not in the least.

The one thing I can say about the FL's annoying childhood friend is that he's the first of his kind to truly know and understand his place and role in the FL's life. He's not delusional about having something more with her or wanting to keep someone who might truly love and care for her out of her life. I literally cannot think of another drama where that has been the case, when the best friend is of a different gender and not an actual sibling. He is a TRUE best friend. Points gained for the drama.
