Wei WuXian also topped my list of my best characters in any fiction/any media/anything pretty early on as I was…
I love Xiao Zhan too. Still, one can't discount Wang YiBo's performance in this - I still can't get over how much he was able to express in his minor facial expressions. I am so impressed with both of their performances that I'm really looking forward to all of their future projects.
JiaoJiao's boobs are humongous! I love the scene in episode 14 (anime), where Jiang Cheng reassembles his disciples…
LOL I about died when I saw JiaoJiao! >.< I love that battle scene too! WWX's demonic powers and how he uses them to crush the Wen sect are much more intense in the animation too.

The donghua/anime is really good. It's more action centered, for sure - but it still has some of those moments. I'm going to be binge watching season 2 this weekend since I haven't seen it yet, but it's got a high rating of 9.2 on douban. I also noticed The Untamed is up to 8.2 on there now.
I'm going to tell you NOT to watch this one first. As another person on this discussion board had once pointed…
LOL I know, right? It IS legit advice. How many of us are still obsessed with The Untamed and all the versions of MDZS a month after the show finished airing? Enough that I think your warning should probably be taken seriously. (*^ڡ^*)
Genuinely confused at your statement cause wwx and lwj are like stuck with each other from first encounter until…
Okay.... I was going to say that you should drop the drama if you weren't getting the romance you wanted out of it. But now I feel like you should stick with it so you can compare those scenes with Wen Qing or Jiang YanLi with the scenes between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying and see how they look at each other as the story progresses - particularly after the flashback ends at ep. 33.
I ran across an amusing post on tumblr a while back that poked fun at some comments made by straight guys who were pretty blind to the LZ/WY ship and thought that the romance was between WWX and WQ or JYL. They even thought LZ was the bad guy for a while. They eventually came around to seeing the LZ and WY connection because it's not as subtle once the flashback ends, though the show still manages to conform to China's censorship laws.
We shouldn't be too worried about the negative reviews or criticisms from anyone. This is a free world. Anyone…
I don't usually watch things like fan meetings either, but the Bangkok fanmeeting had some glorious moments that I'm glad people were willing to share.
Gosh, 9.4 rating...Contemplating in watching this or Love and Destiny first.
I'm going to tell you NOT to watch this one first. As another person on this discussion board had once pointed out: This one has the potential to consume you and no one will be able to help you once you are pulled into the vortex of The Untamed universe.
There is a reason this one is rated high - there are a combination of factors that makes The Untamed a soul-grabbing experience which has made it difficult for many of us to move on or enjoy other dramas in the same way. Many of us have been in this state for weeks with no end in sight.
It's possible that you'll be immune to The Untamed's charm. Certainly, not everyone is a fan of the show. But there are countless people who started this show feeling skeptical about what it had to offer only to end up with an obsession which has put our drama watching at a standstill.
Watch Love and Destiny first. It's got a pretty good rating too so it's likely you'll enjoy it. If you watch the Untamed, hope that you are immune to its allure or be prepared for the possibility that it will ruin all other dramas. You have been warned. ಠ ּ͜೦
Indeed, comments and ratings are subjective. I never watched Signal, but I thought Nirvana in Fire was pretty great - pretty sure I rated it a 10 as well. Still, I'd rank The Untamed above Nirvana in Fire because I was far more emotionally invested with The Untamed and its themes and characters.
When I saw other fans say "Welcome to MDZS hell", I didn't really pay much attention to it, but now that it's…
I thought it would take about a week before I'd be over it. I was wrong. I've been here since I started watching it at the end of July. I'm still replaying the OST on a loop while I read the novel... for the second time... which I started again while watching the entire drama for the second time. And now that I've finished the drama again, I'm about to restart the anime. I won't even mention all the other MDZS/GDC/Untamed content that I spend ridiculous amounts of time perusing. (*^▽^*)
It’s been a month, and I have yet to start a new drama! I still can’t move on from this amazing drama! So…
I haven't started a new one either. I haven't even finished the ones I had started when I first got into The Untamed. There's even one that I only have one episode left to watch, but given the choice between it and Untamed content, I choose The Untamed. Every. Time.
It does make me feel better to come here and see that I'm not the only one experiencing this crazy obsession! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
I also find this completely shocking. I rated it a 10 and, like, a bunch of other MDL members ALSO rated it a 10! Who knew that there were that many other people who felt the same as me about this drama! Crazy, right? ٩(✪ꀾ⍟༶)و
I think the most compelling thing abut this drama is Wei Wuxian's arch, because you can see exactly when things…
This is why I feel so much for Jiang Cheng! Wei WuXian has that selflessness about him and wants to do everything with a clear conscience, but he chose the Wens over his family which had to be incredibly hurtful to Jiang Cheng, especially given all that happened afterwards.
And Wei WuXian! He could have chosen not to help the Wens, but he is driven to do what he thinks is right no matter who it is because that's his personality. Not helping the Wens would go against his personal convictions, but there's a cost to that. It's got to be torturous to see the fallout of that decision.
Of course, there's also Lan Zhan, who was ALSO trying to do the right thing from his point of view in trying to save Wei WuXian and supporting him. He suffers his own consequences from this because it also goes against his family to do what he thinks is right.
And after thinking about this again, I need my emotional support dog(s) too! *sniffle* Wei Wuxian at the Burial Mounds, alone.... for three months.... in that dark, dark, place...
Alright so I finished the drama and even wrote a review. Here are some of my thoughts5. Ending -- Ah this is where…
I also thought Core Crusher had the potential to be an interesting character, but I also think he's an example of blind loyalty. He may have seemed like a good person, but like Wen Qing, he felt that the Wen leader was his savior and thus owed him his loyalty - I really don't think he would have done anything against the Wens, but I was intrigued by the idea of him having some sort of history with the Violet Spider/Jiang Cheng's mom.
I enjoyed Wen Qing's platonic relationship with Wei WuXian. The Jiang Cheng/Wen Qing ship sank because Jiang Cheng didn't feel like he could go against the rest of the clans while trying to rebuild his sect. If he was able to go against the rest of the clans, he wouldn't have abandoned Wei WuXian and we'd probably have a different story altogether, so it makes sense to me that Wen Qing and Jiang Cheng didn't develop any further.
Jin Ling, Jiang Cheng, and Wei WuXian have some serious baggage. There needs to be a whole movie dedicated to resolving their issues. I would totally watch that. :D
I watched the donghua, read the manhua and just finished the novel I AM RECKED but i am thinking of starting this?…
There are definitely differences - some of it is necessary for censorship purposes, other changes are necessary to keep the flow of the story. Still, the live action does an incredible job keeping both the spirit of the novel as well as staying true to many of the novel's scenes. There are times as I reread the novel that I think - wow - that whole scene in the show was practically word for word what was in the novel. There is a lot of attention to detail that novel fans may appreciate more than the average viewer.
I feel you. Nothing seems to be worth watching anymore.
I have yet to finish a new drama since the end of The Untamed so I'm right there with ya. Nothing else is able to keep my attention anymore. I started to read some Chinese BL novels which have been entertaining, but so far nothing has been quite as good as The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. *sigh*
I've always been suspicious of Lan Zhan's bunnies... they probably have special powers.(^v^)

Also, I totally blame my blindfold fetish on The Untamed/GDC/MDZS. (≖ ‿ ≖)
....I don't regret it though. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
