The chapters for the manhua are still in the process of being released. The most recent eng sub is chapter 75…
According to the site, there are 75 chapters that have been translated. There are 86 chapters that have been released in China, but the manhua is still ongoing as far as I know - not sure how many chapters it will end up with.
Guys help me! I think it's the same for all of you guys. I keep reading the novel again and again, watching the…
I tried to escape the obsession. It didn’t work. I’m rewatching and rereading at the same time. Again. Maybe this time I’ll have had my fill. Or maybe all the eng subs for MDZS season 2 will be out by then and I can start the donghua again. XD
The Untamed is back to 8 on Douban. I’m so happy for them.
I saw that too! Also - over half a million people have rated it! Out of curiosity, I looked at a few of my other fave dramas and most of them have less than 300k. On MDL, The Untamed is #882 for popularity - only 1.5k have rated it so it doesn't actually seem super popular. Is it really big in China then?
Completed watching the untamed.. Why does it feels like I'm having a breakup. The amount of dramas I have put…
Haha! Welcome to this fandom! I felt the same way, and I know I'm not the only one. Usually if I like a drama, I can go find something else that is similar so I can get my fill of whatever I enjoyed most about it. The Untamed hit me pretty hard and I feel like I'm left with nothing else that can really compare.
I keep reflecting what makes this drama such a success as compared to other historical dramas airing at the same…
I agree as well. While it has elements that you can find in a lot of other dramas, there is something unique about this one and I think you're right that it is the dynamic between the characters and the way they are portrayed by XZ and WYB.
Such a perfect drama! Who had ever thought.. I was reluctant to watch because of the BL element but a 9.3... so…
I totally see the similarities in MY and LZ. I am such a sucker for characters who go to great lengths to protect those that they love which is why The Untamed is right up there with TMoPB as my fave dramas.
I just can't watch this. I really don't want to watch 2 men making googoo eyes at each other.. Great for the sensor…
To each their own, I guess. Some people see this as a deep friendship and not a romance so not all fans make the same assumption about "what's going through their minds." I personally get a greater satisfaction from the relationship the two main characters developed as caring very deeply for each other and wanting to protect each other than making it all about a physical relationship - but I'm not opposed to that possibility either.
Also, you may want to avert your eyes from my profile pic. It's definitely 2 men making goo goo eyes at each other. :D
the love between ye hua and bai quian is admirable . But as a mother i can see that she doesn't love her son enough…
So this "she didn't love her child enough to see him for three whole years?!?" seems to be a point that a number of people get annoyed with. I get it... but we are talking about characters who live in the heavenly realm and live for tens if not hundreds of thousands of years. A-Li is 300 year old immortal child but is basically like a 5-year-old human. In the scheme of things, 3 years is pretty much nothing.
There is also the fact that Bai Qian didn't even remember she gave birth to him until shortly before she lost YeHua. She also didn't raise him and had only been around him for maybe a few months as YeHua's kid who kept mistaking her for his mom. Sure, she cared for the kid, but given all the trauma, I don't think she would have had time to process her actual role in A-Li's life until she dealt with her grief.
I feel like it's pretty understandable that she'd keep some distance for a short while (and, again, in the immortal realm, 3 years is a minor blip in their lifespan) because she's not the best candidate to help A-Li handle his dad's death - he's got plenty of others around him who have actually known him his whole life to help him manage.
Oh man. Nothing good to watch out there now that Untamed is finished. Let’s do something fun, respond to this…
A lot of us seem to be saying the same thing! LOL The Untamed broke me! Nothing else is worth watching now! I really want another cultivator adventure story with two MLs that have the chemistry and relationship we saw in The Untamed. Or I'd totally settle for XZ and WYB starring in about anything together. Alas, nothing like that is available right now :(
Favorite scenes? There are soooo many, but I really enjoyed the scene where LZ goes to play the zither for WY to help him heal. I loved that he'd been doing it for days while WY was unconscious and that slight awkwardness that's there when WY is awake and he shows up. I also love the scene where LZ has A-Yuan stuck to his leg, then WY notices him and smiles.
I just started today, I'm in episode 12 and I'm already obsessed like I see wei wu xian everywhere. He's invaded…
Yeah. This drama really needs to come with a warning! I don't usually get obsessed. I enjoy dramas and then I move on to the next one. I haven't been able to move on. :( I spend time on tumblr enjoying the wangxian gifs. I've already watched the donghua season 1, read the novel, read what's available of the manhua, listened to season 1 of the audio drama...
Same. Nothing else seems good enough or can really compare to what I'm craving in a drama now. Part of me feels really weird that I've become so attached to this drama/story and am having a hard time getting over it, but at least I'm not the only one! LOL
Only Bromance ? nothing else ?I love the cast but don't wanna have high hope lol
If you set your expectations appropriately, then I really don't think you'll be disappointed. The show doesn't break the censorship rules that China has, but it sure as heck dances around the rules in all sorts of clever and satisfying ways. I totally expected a best buddies sort of relationship based on the drama summary, but I quickly discovered that the chemistry between the two actors and the way they portrayed the main characters was so much better than your typical bromance.
You have to register to have access to the manhua chapters.
