I mean...it's a 35 episode drama, so 3 episodes doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Especially when it's…
I'd actually recommend this over Meteor Garden anytime :). I do like the series but TRL is a much more realistic and mature drama. MG is more like an outdated clichéd story. Rich, spoilt bratty boy falling in love with a poor girl, and his mother is against their relationship and will do anything to separate them. The leads break up like, all the time. Nothing new, lol.
there's a mistake in subtitles both on WeTV and VIKI that changes the meaning of scene one in part one of HMH&YCY's…
True! Sometimes the meanings can be corrupted bc of sloppy translation. This should be avoided. Thank god you mentioned this before I started to watch it. How did you like Neo and Chaoyue's story?
My favourite story is of Yitong and Yanlin. It was the simplest and most down-to earth and realistic story. I enjoyed it the most. Second favourite is that of Neo and Chaoyue's. Although the introduction of their story as a bit confusing, but the second half became very interesting, esp the last two eps. I think it's just me, but I found Jasper and Qin Lan's story to be very confusing. And yes, my favourite is also Neo and Chaoyue, because they were the most naturalistic pair, and they were also very funny XD. My second favourite is Yitong and Yanlin. I found them very buddy-like, and their conversations about love and romance were very interesting (feels weird watching it after Yanlin's marriage tho 😂). Jasper and Qin Lan seemed very forced, esp at the second half of the show. Can't deny their good chemistry, but idk why the producers are trying to make them look all lovey-dovey. I'm pretty sure that they're very good friends.
first quarter of next year .. Yay not too long time until it airs :D I haven't watched Miss the Dragon, but I…
MTD was a guilty pleasure watch for me. Some parts and the SL couple were very interesting but otherwise meh. It did have some comedic moments though. Not the kind of drama I'd like to rewatch (it's the case for many dramas, but this is a special mention because some moments were cringey)
Unpopular opinion: Miss the Dragon shouldn't have been a lifetime drama, and it failed to show Dylan Wang's acting abilities.
Although I enjoyed MTD, it's still a drama that I wouldn't rewatch (it's the case with many dramas, but this is a special mention). The only lifetime I enjoyed the most was the third one, where the FL, Liu Ying, was reincarnated as a strong and capable general, Feng Chenyue. In this lifetime, Dylan and Bambi's chemistry stood out the most. If this wasn't a lifetime drama and only focussed on Yuchi Longyan and Feng Chenyue's arc, then it would have been a much, much better drama, as this character made the best impression on me. And I'm sure they would start off as a bickering couple, bc I'm more into Tom and Jerry couples.
About Dylan's acting, this is I think his weakest performance. He was expressionless most of the time, surely because the script needed it, as he was very expressive in his other works as an actor. I feel that the director cast him to look good. He gave strong performances in Meteor Garden and Ever Night 2. His acting was very natural in The Rational Life. This role in MTD is way below his capability as an actor.
Did it dissappoint. Well, it didn't for me. This is a very progressive show.
Yess! And I also love how they didn't show women as dumb/weak/immature, and that the ML, although much much younger, has a lot of maturity, way beyond his years. I hope dramas and movie, not just in China, but in a lot of other countries, make content like this!
