I’m currently watching at ep6 genuinely pushing through just to see if there’s anything at the end of the…
but soooo many ordinary ppl are like ML :)

Ju Ji Hoon haha I'm not really a fan of this ending; if you're not doing a 2nd season you should wrap it up with…
what's not clear about this ending... ??

That was a needlessly chaotic and overly complex series. It's like the producers cobbled together the the story…
Sorry to interrupt but this script imo was very carefully planned. The domino effect, the butterfly flapping its wings effect, was intentional to show some deep messages. But you just cannot see it...
The main message is - when an honest hardworking ordinary person pushed to the wall gets hold of some money and power, what do they do... ?

100% disagree :) This is a deep and darkly funny drama about karmic lessons ML starts as an honest good person…
I wrote that after ep `11 and before ep 12. i I just watched ep 12.
So I was correct - the old life is over, their marriage is over, his daughter is kinda alienated, he lost his friend, tenants, richgirl ... everyone in his life. He was a happily married guy with a loving daughter and good friends, and ALL THAT IS GONE

and yeah he is left all alone with money and more guns at him, because he chose money over his family -
but ... he had no family to begin with. His wife cheated and was NEVER sorry for what she did.
His daughter is a total moron who sided with the mother and RichGirl.
So RichGirl got a baby, mother and daughter stuck to each other, and he was left without ANY riends or family.

So really - his whole life fell apart except money and a thug job

he did his karma - he helped everyone. He did not want to kill anyone. It was all accidents really, except him consenting to kidnapping AFTER he caught the kidnapper in the act.

It is actually tragic.
The only good thing - now a person who is not too shady is the CEO of New City :)

Well.... which drama are you watching... ? ML and FL already destroyed their life as it was, and what is left is just rumbles... They alienated their daughter.. Rich Girl... tenants ... lost the brother .... discovered cheating, lost their marriage, and are divorcing... lost the building... AND there will be more :) if anyone has to go to jail...
OR ... ML becomes a gangster boss of YuNa and her pal.. !!!!!

It’s so draining…. Gosh I don’t think I can handle it in the upcoming episodes.
me too :) so this hit right where it heals :)
During watching it, my brain unclogged and I had some memories and insights and was 1000% smiling after the show was over
But I was naturally drawn to his charm and flowers, and the externals right now werent critical. I did not watch trailers nor read previews or summaries. I just always show up and watch, FRESH SLATE
so ... try to feel the Light under the suffering

The more I look into it the less I understand and the more opaque everything is.Supposedly a shot, but unfinished…

We are All Trying Here is by the same script writer as My Mister and My Liberation Notes. We have to wait for WAATH to pick up :) hopefully... it is truly a masterpiece in making. it is a powerful, healing, deep kdrama. Really amazing. A guy who is falling externally has an inner field of flowers and some genuine dreams, but no discipline to push it through into external manifestation. So...

Mad Concrete Dreams is also a masterpiece and very unique... you get to see an honest hard working ordinary person pushed down deep and having to survive ... and then.. .... he gains some upper hand and .... the chaos starts in a twisted dark comedy of domino effects karma...

Is that why ppl dont like this bc it is too real, to close to their own life... ? Seems like it...

Seems like idol fans and ppl who love to watch let-me-dream stuff like Perfect Crown, Dynamite Kiss, Practical Guide to Love, Pursuit of Jade, etc do not appreciate deep scripts. They seem to prefer to "watch to relax" and turn the brain off, with stuff that is video form of cheap paperback love novels that my grandma used to read :) I will never forget some user - Umiwola? - who wrote a vitriolic post how she will not watch My Mister bc the guy is old and ugly LMAO SO unfortunately... .. producing stuff like that is a valid business model, there is plenty of audience for that. It doesnt have to win a Nobel prize as long as it brings much profit. So... it is here to stay :)

Meanwhile, if you like something that will engage you on a deeper level. you got WAATH and MCD
And old kdramas :) Last 2 weeks, there was not much to watch so I watched Heroes Next Door and some other amazing dramas.

yeah cdramas have a lot more drama and hype, and a lot less thinking, and no humor and rarely character development,…
Sure, name me some cdramas that have that, I promise I will check them out. I tried so many and have not found what you described. So if you know which ones have it, plmk . And it would be helpful if you tell me exactly what to watch so that I dont have to watch 50 episodes looking for it

That is sooo weird! I thought S Koreans had a good taste in dramas. But ... wait .. tonight is Perfect Crown and…
those super skinny ppl with BMI of 13 and below are body shaming all of us normal humans . Also their emaciated faces look so tired.
we normal humans have to eat and have a body BC WE HAVE TO GO TO WORK every day, not just lounge around and do photo-shoots

IF I SEE A SUPER SKINNY AND/OR PLASTICIZED ACTOR, I DONT WATCH THEIR DRAMA/MOVIE ... BC IT FEELS LIKE PAYING TO WATCH SOMEONE RUIN THEIR LIFE... like ... buying cosmetics tested on animals, or buying medicines made from killing endagered species, etc.. I REFUSE TO SUPPORT DESTRUCTIVE INDUSTRIES

I am so glad that ML in this drama looks normal. I havent seen enough of FL to tell. I totally dislike her Can This Love Be Translated, that was trash, but she acted well and and I dont remember her looking too skinny 0 but I dropped tht drama so fast.
However, her picture on MDL is horriffying, she looks like an alien with a triangular face, that looks like plastic surgery for sure, I dont see it in this drama though so I will keep watching to determine what is going on

It's normal premiere rating for a slice of life show like this, My Liberation Note started with 2.x% also from…
I hope so.
I am concerned that westernized and cdrama-ized bs stuff is overtaking kdramas. Recent kdramas lack the character growth and other traits of good storytelling.

Thanks for mentioning MLN, i will watch it. It has only 8.5 rating on MDL...
and My Mister, a masterpiece, has only 8.9

What do you think of Mad Concrete Dreams, is that a good drama for you? Bc I think it is so unique and well done but also not popular.

Indeed. A story that we can experience indirectly THROUGH ANOTHER so that we learn what to do and what not to do in our own real life. Very cheap lessons that save the grief of hard lessons :) We dont have to make the same mistakes as the characters, and we can make the good decisions they made - and a lot faster :) Knowledge is precious :)

wow if she is the runaway wife of Grandpa Yang then how come Grandma Gong did not recognize her....? Even after many years there are traces of how we look and we could be recognized...

I am so glad FL took charge and made the announcement. She took good care of her man.
I really appreciate that this drama does NOT stall and quickly resolves disconnections. Misunderstandings get resolved really fast by honest talking. Secrets get told instead of found out. Ppl listen and come back and work it out. Overall, it is quite a mature vibe - well often after an immature action with dire consequences LOL

FL, her mom and dad all have that trait where they blow up as total morons, and then later think it through logically and with the heart, and make good decisions. That is quite remarkable. And it makes the drama fun, we see the realistic process of flawed people trying their best to improve - and succeeding. It makes the watch worth while, it is educational and inspirational.

Kdrama plots typically include some Korean cultural dilemmas, for example about loyalty to family vs self, keeping secrets "out of consideration" for the other, etc - it is clearly heavy sore topics since they are used so often - and it is good to keep some of that loyalty to family, so that they dont become "floating in outer space" isolated like Westerners who are such self centered consumers. And it is good to learn to be considerate - but also learn to say everything politely and have a discussion about it until everything is resolved. THAT skill is a skill from the "new age" of enligtenment, the uncharted territory we as global citizens and a global society these days are just entering...

Imo this drama goes way beyond the cliche expected plots and into new uncharted territory. There are zillion self-help and psychology books, but hey, does anyone really know how to talk like that??? Westerners are just learning... to talk!!!! to listen then mull it over ... then respond to what was said and what was not said... ... Asians and Plynesians know a lot about how to first listen and THEN talk so their conversation skills are superior, so I am curious to see HOW this skill of saying things honestly will merge with the skill of polite, respectful and meaningful exchange...... and this drama is doing it!!!! This plot of actually reconciling is very universal and very powerful. I am very thankful for that. I appreciate it. Bc this is not a typical Asian solution that is rather bland. For some reason, Korean solution is WARM and CARING. Like the Polynesian solution, the infamous Aloha Spirit.
Oh I found the answer to my question. kdramas are "familiar" and interesting to me bc they remind me of the Hawaiian way. There are many similarities. Yeah. Wow! This is why I love to write to others bc as I explain something to others, I discover something for myself :) So thank you for being there, everyone!

Ah the little details make all the difference ... like Uncle and aunt peeping sideways and up from that car. That was such a hilarious movement.... !!!! peeking with one eye like a halibut fish.... I rolled off my chair laughing :)

Btw who is that Grandma's friend who went into the laundry/drycleaning store? She cannot be the wife of ex-grandpa? but she is SOMETHING to him...

@DimitarTosevski Honestly, I think you need to do the work of a housewife for a day and then you might get the answer to your question. You promise to try?
