Luckily someone "above them" had the guts to say ok, go ahead.... But if they had not... Uncle and Aunt would be suffering their entire lives.
In ep 44, FL/ML are still holding "we can't be together bc of our elders" and ALL older adults are staunch about "we can't"

"We can't" - why? bc of how socially we look to others if we are multiple in-laws? Excuse me, does it make any sense... ? It is just a BOLOGNEY FAKE EXCUSE about family pride about formalities that do not even really matter today in Seoul S. Korea esp to "anonymous" families like these.... In other words, bs excuse versus the life happiness of 6 people who found their life partner.

So continuing that script beyond ep 44 out of 50 is just a hot pile of script, it is a lazy easy script. The script has to RESOLVE these issues by ep 50 and isnt doing that. THE PACE OF THIS DRAMA IS FOR A 100 EPISODES DRAMA. Wake up script writer!!!!!

Also, I wrote my comments after watching eps 35-38, which are the trashiest, 100% focused on open hate /blind obedience. There was some progress after ep 39/40. I acknowledged that in my later posts.

However, I still think it is not enough, ie the drama is moving too slowly. Yeah the problem is huge and deep as ppl involved are STUPID IMMATURE and soooo stuck to their hatred and controlling others.... and the drama is going "the real time" speed lmao and actually shows some good real life tips as to how to resolve things...

but there are only 50 eps.. we need to reach a solid point of transformation by ep 50.

The parents and grandparents in this drama have absolutely no reason to hate the other family. The whole deal is to justify Granma's grudges and her feeling sorry for herself, and Grandpa's male pride that his wife cheated on him, and Se Ri's hate of a "better woman" FL's mom, and then Bucket and FL's dad and uncle being proud and brainwashed by their remaining parent.

EVEN WHEN THE SUPPOSED REASON WAS RESOLVED, THE HATRED STAYED - why?

IT TELLS YOU THAT THE HATRED IS THERE JUST TO HATE SOMEONE AND BLAME THEM FOR ALL THE MISFORTUNES IN YOUR LIFE, TO HAVE A SCAPEGOAT TO DUMP ON

that is what black/brown/immigrants is to white, and vice versa, that is what every "other" group is to every religious and ethnic group
In some situation that hatred is intentionally planted bc different groups fight for the same resources, or use hate to justify exploiting each other.

to be fair, i watched a few more eps. So, to be fair, ep 34-38 are the worst trash, Then it gets slightly better after ep 40 bc there is a lot of "locomotion" so the issue of kids blindly obeying in hatred is less visible.
So the drama is ok after all, things ARE moving forward, just at a snail speed, but at least... Uncle got married, etc

ML-FL are still stuck in obeying their families but the drama made it obvious how they are actually rebelling, the same with the youngest, and both couples are heavily flirting and aware of their feelings. Paco Nacho finally behaves and looks like a live human being, not a robot set on the mode "always kissing as@ of FL" - so now he is more lively and alive, and 100000 times more charming.

BUT THEIR DUMB FAMILIES are still in hatred mode. SR is just a stupid idiot, why does she have to hate the other family so much, still??? same with Grandma and FL's mom and dad.....

There is only 6 more episodes but I think the couples' part is doable in 6 eps.
But then we have Grandpa and his "sister", ... the other Grandpa dying, ... the office thing and the undercover GoodLookingGuy Mr. Park - wow he is beautiful! and has the best fashions of all dramas, earlier with more casual and now with more dressy - also, he and Woo Joo actors are unusual bc they have beautiful white teeth - that really improves the look and the smile :) Without teeth showing in a smile, it aint a smile :)

However, this Councilman thing was just added, so CAN the drama resolve all characters, and get rid of Councilman, in 6 eps... ?? looks like a too big a bite...

This drama looks like a desperate attempt of some dinosaurs to recreate Joseon, as this drama ah soooo looks like it is happening in Joseon lmao These adult people just blindly obeying their families.... kapool..... what a lie....

It seems like the dinosaur propaganda is TOTALLY UNSUCCESSFUL. If S Korea really looked like this in real life, there would be no drugs and no lowest global birth rate.

I HONESTLY think that MJ actor is doing a bad job. And I am not alone, there are many more ppl who think he acts very poorly.

He somewhat moved hair out of his eyes and is using his eyes to act. That's an improvement. But only that so far. he is not using his whole face and body to act in different and dynamic ways YET. Sure MJ is a rather quiet guy, and a guy in anguish, BUT the MJ we see on the screen is a caricature, a PRETENSE, of what real MJ should be.

His shoulders and neck and torso are totally stiff and cemented, and he behaves like a robot, and it is always the same. He is so stiff that even his voice cannot come out properly, his voice is totally squished high voice without any breath in it.

MJ actor needs to relax and be more of the character. And I am not saying that bc I hate him etc, I am saying that trying to help him, bc if he gets better at acting, the entire drama will get better.
Just like we asked that HJ get rid of that ridiculous haircut and clothes, and then the actor really started shining. WE HELPED THE ACTOR, THE DRAMA, AND OURSELVES, we get to watch a better drama.

ANd if you think MJ actor acts fine that's your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but: 1. you are not helping the actor improve his acting so ultimately you are very destructive to his career, and 2. you cannot try to shut up ppl who dont agree with you, and furthermore, try to shut ppl up by throwing false accusations at them.

You can just try to refute opposing allegations by proof, by showing examples that MJ actor acted well. Instead, you give a blanket statement that MJ actor is doing a great job, and then you go for personal insults against me and others who said otherwise.

I am now honestly a fan of HJ actor bc he proved he can act well. If he doesnt act well, I am not gonna be his fan. I had such disappointments, for example I like FL actress in Queen's House but I was totally unhappy with her acting of Jang Mi in First Man. Now I think she is good only for certain roles.

One of the rare great dialogues in this drama was HY telling MopHeadProfessor off at the end of ep 135. Her lines were profound - and we get to see why she was such a strong villain and why her strongest weapon was her speech - her lies were always based on some truth. What she told the Professor was true lmao

This drama is a good drama as is, minus the BL tropes, so I am glad BL genre is moving into wider topics of real life, as it is supposed to be, since BL happens in the context of real life, not an isolated planet
