Indeed, Seo Rin was a rather crafty girl but then turned into a total bumpkin when it came to love and she gleefully took to weight pills and plastic surgery to impress and seduce "her" man. Her rat....
SR's issue actually was deeper, imo, she was just like JH, hanging onto her "mom" even though she knew mom was a criminal - but criminal to OTHERS so it didnt matter, right?
Also SR wanted to be rich... and so her HY mom was a lot more impressive and desirable than SH mom...

SR was greedy and immature and that is why she turned back to her mom and ditched JM.
BUT YOU ARE RIGHT, SR took a nose dive into really stupid, out of blue, her desire to "have" JH made SR side with HY, diss JM, and do all kind of stupid stuff.

The chronic sexism in kdramas is creating plot by having female characters do stupid, dumb, reckless, naive, rash, irrational, illogical, really STUPID stuff, and the audience is played bc it is KNOWN that the audience will UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT AND FIND FUNNY such female stupidities.

JH is a fat rat, a very cruel cold person who is very careful to do bad things and not get caught, who is full of excuses for his bad behaviors and has zero self reflection skills and EXCELLENT manipulation skills.... . When SR died, he just cynically coldly thought to himself something along the lines "I could care less, bye dumb SR".

JH is a super mean cruel person with lots of self pity and sob stories for others to get himself off the hook. Exactly like HY. Such big fat lies, lack of self reflection, and cheesy justifications for bad behaviors is one common trait for criminals, addicts, and losers of all kinds. Blame it on someone else. Blame it on something in you that you cannot control.

But JH is a son of a woman who keeps bad men around her and caters to them until it is clear that it really is hopeless. I think his adopted mother doesnt know yet that he faked being kidnapped, and all the things he did... He is really playing her well...

I am not sure if jail is the right punishment for JH. JH is a gang boss and he will coldly run organized crime from jail...

JH has to experience punishment that will send his whole self into the FIRE so extreme that he will have to truly repent and change his ways. He needs to FEEL what he has done to others. Right now he is refusing to FEEL anything for others, refusing to feel any compassion for others, bc he has this sob story how he was always waiting for love and never got it. That is a big fat lie. He has had so many chances to grab and soak in and enjoy love given to him, and he never took it.

SO WHAT WILL BE THE PROPER PUNISHMENT FOR JH TO MAKE HIM CHERISH AND RETURN EVERY BIT OF LOVE THAT COMES HIS WAY? something that will make him feel immense suffering just from thinking how he murdered SR and enabled HY to murder so many others and escape. What kind of situation he needs to be in to really really really feel everything he has done and not done?
I would perhaps put JH into 72 hr death row pet shelter, where he has to fight to have a pet adopted in 72 hrs or die. I want him to fight with great urgency for every life.
Maybe put him with ... disabled kids, emergency room, senior home, cancer ward for kids, .... i am not sure. But he needs some kind of environment that can REACH him and where he is forced to stay for years until he melts. It is gonna be difficult but not impossible. He is ALMOST cemented into evil, but not totally yet, so he might find his redemption in some kind of "forced labor/jail" environment.

HY has to go to psychiatric jail bc she is the kind of person who has no heart and is already turned into pure evil. Lapdog as well.

If JH's adoptive mother bails him out, the drama is a total flop. If he gets off free, the drama is a total flop.

The problem is not that it is a family problem.
The problem is that this problem STAYS in the drama from ep 1 to current ep 44 and the drama is ending in 6 eps.
The problem is that the problem never gets OVERCOME. and that so much of the drama time was misused just on this problem
And yeah the problem is big and ugly and it does take time to resolve however if you got 50 eps you gotta resolve it in 50 eps.
And the problem is so big and ugly that all those episodes in the middle that are JUST ABOUT THAT PROBLEM are such trashy episodes, repeating the same thing over and over and over.

yeah the villains are funny and are a fantastic couple but they are Mr and Ms Satan. How far will they go? So far... they would not kill or harm physically. They had some difficulty with physical stealing for the first time, but they did it.
