Title Hello, Me! Spoiler
I'm very intrigued about the whole time slip in the drama. From what I see, teen Hani's cellphone is the device…
I don't think she doesn't know that adult Bahn Ha Ni is her granddaughter. She's been too aggressive with her so far not to have some idea of who she is. Otherwise, why would she try to beat up a complete stranger when that doesn't appear to be something she generally does? I assumed the difference in treatment is because Adult Ha Ni is the one who caused her son's death, but young Ha Ni hasn't done it yet, and that's why she hates adult Ha Ni but not young Ha Ni. It's a 'this one killed my son' versus 'this one is my favorite' kind of thing. (We also have to remember that Ha Ni's sister remarks at one point that it's unusual for her grandmother to remember any of them.) I could be wrong though. Personally, I hope your theory is wrong, because I think it would kind of ruin the story. I know the death of her father and the way it fundamentally altered her life is extremely heartbreaking to watch, but it's also a very human experience, and going back in time and 'fixing' it would take away the message. Why would Ha Ni need to find redemption and her family learn to forgive if no accident ever happened? I really like that potential message, and I would hate to see it tossed aside. Adult Ha Ni being a 'glitch' would also really cheapen her what she's experienced because of the accident, her trauma and heartbreak, rejection from family members, the self-hatred and fear of living. Because after all, she's not the real Ha Ni so her struggles are not real either. I think Ha Ni deserves better than that. I've actually been wondering the last couple weeks now how all of the time travel stuff is ultimately going to be handled, and no matter how I look at it, there's one fatal problem (aside from what it does to the drama's potential message) with young Ha Ni going back and changing everything. If young Ha Ni goes back to her timeline and changes everything, adult Ha Ni won't meet our male lead when she grows up, because the miserable situation she found herself in due to how she's lived her life because of the accident is also the entire reason why she reconnects with him. If young Ha Ni saves her father, adult Ha Ni won't end up in that situation in the first place thus prompting them to meet. I guess if the writers really want to write it this way, they could add in some particular reason for why he would still meet her. Maybe he's been searching for her since they were young or maybe they are destined to be together and would inevitably find each other in every timeline, but let's be honest. How many dramas take the time to set up these sorts of stories properly and Also ensure they don't leave bizarre loose ends in the last ep like the leads still meeting in the altered timeline even though it doesn't make sense for them too? As much as I enjoy this drama, I don't think it's writers are quite good enough to pull something like what you're suggesting off. I would rather they not try doing anything too ambitious and just let their drama be a redemption story, because I think it's doing a pretty decent job at it so far.
