There's absolutely no way to redeem characters like these. some things are simply unforgivable. The only redemption old girl deserve is pity for being dumb while we watch her die and all the scenes of her bending over backwards for that degenerate playing as flashbacks.

The king he's portraying is base on an ACTUAL king; Yeonsangun of Joseon who was infact a Tyrant king base on history. That's why the drama is called that.... How many times did the female lead point that out too? However the drama is basically showing his side of story in a way to say "he's not an actual tyrant, they murdered his mother then cover it up" You're obviously slow that's why you haven't been able to understand all this time. Just like the chinese drama a dream within a dream; The script read by the Fl lead and the person the ML was when she entered the script differed, it's the same here!

Chile i'm not doing this with you....He killed alot of people all in efforts to learn the truth behind his mother death. That's where the fear of him and him being a tyrant came from ACCORDING to this script. However what's recorded in history is totally different, he was listed as a tyrant who murdered his subjects, used women etc etc. In ACCORDANCE to this script and series he was NEVER an actual tyrant just a hurt little boy chasing the truth behind his mother's death. A grey misunderstood character if you will. Again please for the love of God rewatch the show and leave me alone cause why am i arguing with you about whether he killed a group of ministers or not when that's also one of the reason the prime minister was on that ass?

Oh brother....Him kidnapping the women, him exiling that one court minister, he also killed a group of ministers too... Those were the Tyrant acts... However all those people had some form of connection to the murder of his mother. If event were to have gone as planned he would've went down as one of the worst king ever because there would've been a big massacre when he learnt how his mother actually died. Everything before that kinda invalid since the actual thing that gave him such title in history was the major massacre

Well love if you were genuinely watching the show then you would’ve noticed that according to the history FL lead know and what actually gave him that tyrant image is inaccurate to the actual person he is. Historian can only record what they know. We saw that he would’ve became a tyrant when he learnt of what took place and why his bother was murdered but FL stopped his crashed out. He was still recorded in history as a tyrant because of the prime minister framing him when he staged a revolt

This wasn't a bad watch....it most definitely had the potential to be a great show however I believe they focused too much on the cooking aspect only to fall short on all the side stories. 1. For the king, the dowager and all the concubines to oust the queen like that.....ion know but why weren't we told a definite reason? Surely the Dowager didn't just kill her to balance the court? 2. For the very first time in history I think that they should've spent more time building on the FL and ML relationship, maybe this was only be but I could not feel a strong chemistry between the leads; I mea n the actors did their job portraying the characters but there's so much that can be done when they writers didn't give us enough episodes to form a build up to how much they like each other. Overall I believe the story was quite incomplete. The most interesting aspect for me was entirely the reason behind the deposal of the queen as well as Tang Bai Long backstory surving in joseon. For me they made it such a big thing and the soul reason why the king acted like a tyrant but then didn't have the decency to properly tell the full backstory into what actually took place. I think as a viewer i deserve to know full context so that I may understand certain characters better. But that's just me I guess.

good watch could've been better had they made it more compact. they introduce a whole lot of amazing characters without utilizimg them to their full poteintials. there was just too much filler scenes that had nothing to do with the actual story!. overall good show waited for it to be great

Surely they CANNOT be serious with this casting right? surely. There's over 50 of age actresses I can think about right now that would've excelled player the FL. this child is not ready at all to be the Main character in a romance drama with ML as old as Ming Hao. He's literally almost thirsty years old and that baby is all but 17. CAN WE BE FREAKING FORREAL HERE!!!!. and she's to be player a vixen like character? what are we doing as humans? are the people behind this casting out their rabbit a$$ mind???? This is how child actors and actresses get exploited, this is how they get exposed to certain stuff too early on. If you've seen all the characters this baby girl has plaid then surely you'll understand i'm upset for very good reasons. To make a drastic jump from her pass drama character to this is just.....and please abeg ion wanna hear nothing about "let her grow as an actress" respectifully I will show flick you off and show you the finger. ABSOLUTELY NOT IN THIS WAY!. if it was like a high school romance with a ML of similar age i wouldn't be as upset right. This is just ridiculous.

This was a okay show, severely overhyped with an underwhelming storyline. I just think they had too many filler episodes and spent less times switching between the different plots of death and reincarnation. For each death of a character the time they take to reappear is way too short for any form of grieve or lost to be felt. The scenes in which they die are even more underwhelming...They could've done so much better here. Does not deserve such high praises I'm sorry

Very underwhelming. They could've done so much more with Khalid character as a villian, they could've introduce us more into the other brother lifes, It made no sense why Ga young would become a jinniya and literally was unnecessary, this could've very well been a sad ending and it still would've been good since it stayed on theme. Also Minji was literally wasted potential. They could've done so much more with her character and chose not to. One thing though, I loved how they introduced her as a lesbian without actually making it a big deal. it was normalize and everybody didn't find it as a shocker she had a girlfriend neither was she closeted. They also touched on misgendering while they were at it. it was nice touch but I think they were way too subtle with the lesbian trope between her and Lee mi-ju. overall it was a okay show, they seriously wasted alot of potentials though.

My condolences to his family. Omg this is so heartbreaking. He was such a versatile actor. Very outstanding actor whether he played as a villain or protagonist. I don’t know there’s something severely wrong with what’s going on in Korea. We’ve lost way too many great actors and actress to death of unnatural causes….

rewatched and I still don't get how people can't see how selfish and self-centered fl is. Also why is no one taking into account that both characters wants totally different things and Fl will stop at nothing to get HER WAY. they're incompatible even though they both love each other. This could and absolutely CANNOT be an happy ending. these people don't compliment eachother personality at al, and most of the stuff they disagree on aren't compromisable topic. People really are something else....

I honestly feel like this is being judge too harshly, from the very first episode it’s obvious that it’s mean to be light hearted romance with a bit of fantasy/supernatural. I felt that they stayed on theme and kept the pace really well for the story to flow evenly without missing too much details from the webtoon. It’s obvious this wasn’t made to be an “award winning” series too; in a sense where I don’t think it’s meant to be brilliant or give that WOW effect but still had the right amount of sauce for fans of the webtoon as well as the actors/actress to fawn over and enjoy. I think we got just the right enough of fillers, romance, mystery and fantasy, FOR ME, it was balanced really well. A solid 8.3/10!

It wasn’t a bad watch the end just didn’t give me the high I was expecting from all the build up.

The concept of letting a boy you knew for less than five years be the reason for every step you take in life. We cannot be serious right now....I understand liking someone but ion know following in their foot step, being distracted in class, choosing the same major/hobby etc....I mean gurl it gets to a point!

I'll be honestly this wasn't all that. there was just way too many misunderstanding and back and forth, The middle was too draggy and FL took way too long to gain full consciouness and act like she has some sense, also the constant chasing was annoying. But I must say the last 5-10 episoodes were exceptional, definitely stayed on theme and didn't disappoint me at all. I only wished they gave Gui Hong a better ending. something like having him imprison but all his past friends and family would like come visit him and try to get him back to his old self.

Somethings to note: Nan Rui, Fu gui, Duanshan Hu and Ji xiang were definitely my favorite characters, I genuinely believed the Emperor was let off way too easily for how poor he handled his grieve of the empress, he should've atleast sincerely apologized and took a few days to feel some real deep regrets. I hate how they brushed over the fact that Song Yiting is a little attempting rapist....I really don't care what her circumstances were that shii was weird! furthermore she never came clean because of her dignity but i saw everyone ridiculed Nan Heng cause they thought he did .... to her. I wish they never hong Li shi liu/sixteen character so quickly the costume was genuinely sick instead they should've passed it on to the next boss.

All in all a solid 8/10 just because of everything that happened in the middle. Alot of weird shii happened that were never addressed so i can never give them a ten but they 8 at the end! nibbled even.

Alright chile, lemme go finish fukass "The Princess‘s Gambit" so i can ruin my morning for no reason. 31 episodes in and it has been nothing short of plot holes inconsistent storytelling and a rapey relationship between the leads. so far they've had three kiss, all were forced and aggressive basically SA and one of them led to sleeping together.... I really don't know how to feel but I'm sure ion like the overall story. scriptwriters need the guillotine for what they're presenting on my screen as normal!

There's so much I wanna say right now but it ultimately boils down to bad writing. They took pieces of other shows and included it into this one and just slammed it down on the table to call a manuscript. They was there no editor that could've told them how trash this is? was the book like this?

Oh Shen Zaiye that blow was nasty. He's been disappointing me for the whole show but I guess he ate that one little thing......The way he set the stage and with just a few words he was able to control Mu Wuyin...gurl that mfer a weak ass villian, they need to bring the big dogs to the table. My money is on my gurl Zhen Zhen she's playing chess while everyone else playing checkers. So far her villian ark is very well written, her moves are calculated well and executed even better. I love the method she used to get rid of her cousin! Very nice. I wish the writers took the liberty to ACTUALLY write and spend as much time as they did for Zhen Zhen character on the female lead, like i have yet to see her do anything "smart" or with a wow factor except for her constantly SA'ing that man and being manipulative for his brownie points. The writing is very inconsistent and without balance!!!!! I hate that they had to write her in a way where the only thing she could do to "FULLY" hold Zai Ye down was throwin that cat. Also I have so much to say about the trope between the Main leads and how they're resorting to pity parties to get these two back together. Ion know I genuinely don't feel the "chemistry" between them in a lovers way, maybe that's just me. I also think they should address certain things and get to the bottom of certain actions they both took against each other especially her instead of using her greivances she experienced back at home to prove that she did this and that because of what happened to her back home cause if we're being honest Shen Zai Ye experienced very similar thing and none of his actions were nearly as manipulative (atleast in a bad or harmful way). But then again maybe they wanted Princess Cheng Ping to be morally grey? but wait wasn't that the idea Zai Ye was going for, why isn't he being portrayed like that? again the writing is very inconsistent and without balance!!! He's my next target -_-, I hate to say it and I hope I don't sound ridiculous but he's been lovesick way more than he's been scheming and because of this I think everybody at court might be idiots including the king cause is this the man that has been running shii and leaving the biggest noble families in shables because of how calculative and smart he is against them? The wrote his character in a way where i expected to be awe stunned by his every scheme but i'm MOSTLY disappointed.
