Oh my gosh, its FINALLY over!!!! Hallelujah

Full Disclaimer - I didn't go seeking to watch this lakorn, I used it as part of the 2020 Watch Challenge. This is also the first lakorn I've watched completely raw so my understanding won't be 100%.

★Plot ★
(No synopsis on the drama page so this is my take)
It is the wedding day of the female lead and her boyfriend. She is getting dressed and suddenly she gets kidnapped by the male lead - all set up by the woman who has her sights on her boyfriend. It appears that the male lead has no idea who she is and essentially took the wrong person - If thats even believable. Female leads ends up marrying the other woman because of whatever lies she told to the boyfriend and female lead's family.

★ Characters ★
I liked the village characters - those that were plots and being evil!
The lack of justice and essentially allowing people to get away with their crimes is ridiculous - at least the main beach should've gone to jail but this is a lakorn and its very rare someone actually goes to jail. The romance started out well but then I felt as if they really didn't progress as much as I would've liked.

★ Music ★
I'm not usually a fan of music being played as part of the main plot but I really liked it in this one. They were really nice, its probably one of the few things I truly enjoyed. The costumes used were also really nice and pretty to look at.

★ Rewatch Value ★
Zero, zip, zilch!!!

Overall, this had potential but it all went to the waste land with the repetitive cycle of kidnapping, beating up the villagers, destroying their properties, beaches plotting murders. I've lost count how many times all this happened. This lakorn was way too long and I feel it could've wrapped up with 16-20 episodes especially with all the repeats. This is not a lakorn I would recommend to anybody but feel free to try it out.

I watched this installment of the U-Prince series because I absolutely love baking storylines.

I very nearly dropped this one because the female lead Renee was just too dirty and messy for my liking but I've been trying really hard recently to not drop so many dramas. Now that I have completed it I wish it was longer because she of course started to change and I started to warm up to her. I only wish they actually focussed a little bit more on the actual baking instead of the Renee's writing and dirtiness.

The couple were really cute together and I loved the hair colour Renee changed to towards the end of the drama. I'd love to see them acting again in another drama.

I enjoyed the music played in the drama.

I would rewatch my favourite parts only.

I recommend this drama for people who are looking for something short and sweet to watch in between those long intense dramas.

Well this drama couldn't be more cliché if they tried. Reminded me of Twilight which funnily enough I love so of course I had to continue watching. I remembered I did try to watch this a few months ago but I was put off by the "blood" during the first few minutes of it - we don't get along but I soon got over it the second try. Didn't realise this drama wasn't a Taiwanese drama until I noticed the voices were dubbed. Seeing Tang Danson automatically made me jump to the conclusion that it was a Taiwanese and not Hong Konger drama. The dubbing didn't bother me too much as I'm a frequent Chinese drama watcher. I did feel as though the romance was a bit fast tracked but then I had to remind myself that it was only a 9 episode drama so of course it would be. I also wished they showed a bit more of the powers (I'm a huge sucker for those) but again probably not much time for 9 episodes. The ending left me a little confused as I wasn't sure about the last scene

I felt that the cast worked extremely well together especially the two leads, I could really feel the chemistry. Really loved the little bloopers at the end.

I loved the gentle piano that was being played throughout the drama.

I will rewatch this again if only to see Tang Danson in actor. I couldn't stop smiling at the contacts even though some of the special effects seemed a little off. Didn't realise how much I missed seeing him act until I watched this - come back soon!

Not the best drama ever made but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I recommend this to Tang Danson and vampire fans who aren't too fussed about the not so great special effects. There's also friendship, family and romance which are a nice mixture.

Oh boy, where to begin...I decided to watch this drama after watching a k-drama that was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

So story wise...this in my opinion started okay-ish but then as the episodes went on it went down the crapper. My first impression was that it was gonna be a cute and fluffy drama and I liked that they were reunited after being separated in their childhood. Unfortunately the second they brought in attempted sexual assault, controlling behaviour, emotional and physical abuse which they tried to make it seem romantic I completely went off the story.

I feel that whilst the cast had great chemistry, I couldn't help but hate/dislike the main leads. The female because once she fell in love she became very weak. The male lead I disliked him from the moment his started threatening the female with physical and emotion abuse as well as the attempted sexual assaults. It is very clear that he has deep running issues which I wish they showed him getting professional help but with the number episodes being as small as they are I don't suppose they would've had time for that without it feeling rushed.
I loved Key - he was so sweet and a very supporting friend and I hated that he was dragged into the middle of the lead's mess. It would've been great to see him having his own girl but apparently that's not how second leads work in thai dramas. My heart went out to him throughout the entire drama. Hed and Ped were also hilarious to watch, they reminded my of The Chuckle Brothers. lol

The music didn't really appeal to me.

I won't ever rewatch this because of the things I've mentioned above as they are quite disturbing to watch, at least for me.

I can't say that I recommend this to anyone unless you're into this kinda drama

Watched this whilst it was airing.

This drama is under the romance category but there is LITERALLY no romance, in my opinion. Might be the fact that I had SLS all the way through but I felt that the "romance" between the two leads were extremely forced and very awkward. To me this drama is more about friendship and the business world. This one of those dramas you wish second lead could get the girl if only he had spoken up sooner.

Gong Myung was keeping me from dropping this drama. He carried the drama in my opinion. I'm really hoping he gets lead role in a romcom of his own as he definitely is capable of lead roles. The male lead was simply too immature/childish but his antics were hilarious.

Certain things were left unanswered and certain other things should've happened which didn't which is why my rating is lower.

Great cast and OST. Personally, I would only rewatch Gong Myung's parts as he is so adorable but seriously his acting is fantastic.

What I hated most about this drama: the violence. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and I had to skip it because to me it wasn't What I'd call "funny and entertaining" and also that the brother literally got away with his crimes - Scot free.

This review may contain spoilers
Its been a while since I wrote a review so I thought I'd make this one my first review of 2018. This is my first Ugly Duckling series which was included in Soju's 10 Beginner Friend Thai Dramas article.
I was looking for a drama that isn't the usual abusive/assault routine.

The story for me was relatable, minus the box and some cute scenes thrown in here and there.

The bad bits:
? the bullying/violence - this is the reason why I don' watch Korean school dramas. I get that bullying happens in real life situations but I was hoping it wouldn't be in this one but oh well. I hated Vivienne and her goons with a passion. No redeemable qualities.
? the female lead - always speaking loudly. Yes in arguments people tend to raise their voices but even when she was not arguing I still felt that she was speaking too loudly. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that she always jumped to the wrong conclusion and never waited for an explanation but then again there wouldnt be much of a drama if she had listened.
? zero - it took me until the second to last episode to warm up to Zero. I detest the whole "i like him/her but I'll continue to be mean and cause trouble" routine.

The good bits:
? the father/son duo - oh my gosh I love these two! They were absolutely hilarious! I wish they showed them a bit more. It was also very refreshing to see siblings who get on and show their loving relationship instead of the usual cliche of sibling rivalry.
? minton- I felt that he was really sweet even though he had done wrong which he was trying to redeem himself (apologies if that's classed as a spoiler but I don't think it is). I ended up feeling bad for him in the end. As per, no SLS here.

HUGE APOLOGIES if the review is long. Wasn't expecting to type so much.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this drama but my sole reason for watching was because I wanted to watch a drama where Choi Woo Shik was the lead and the poster spoke out to me.

Firstly, I really enjoyed the storyline. The kind, loveable nerd/dork who is also able to stand up for himself instead of taking all the crap that's thrown at him was very refreshing to watch. I can't say I'm happy with the verdict of the incident that happened (without spoiling - hopefully) but honestly this was very realistic in my eyes as not everyone is able to get the justice they deserve.

Not a huge fan of UEE's acting but in this one she's watchable. Woo Shik's interaction with the baby was beyond adorable. It was also refreshing to see siblings who cared about each other instead of the cliché siblings who hate each other or are always trying to outdo each other and the same goes for parents who are actually happily married and still love each other. The two male leads were fantastic and I felt they truly worked well together from enemies to friends. I loved the bromance and I think this is the first time I've liked both first and second leads. I loved the geeky friends as well but unfortunately they disappeared not long after the time jump.

I really got caught up listening to the music that played during the drama but because it was really playful and cute and I loved the little squid cartoons that was shown at the beginning of each episode.

I highly recommend this drama to those who love a nice cool, laidback, romcom. Normally, I can tell what will happen next in a typical drama but almost all of my guesses were wrong in this drama. I suppose there's a first time for everything XD

Apologies in advance - I’m still getting my bearings on this reviews thing especially since I love this drama so much!
Most people who have seen me in the comments section will know that I have no expectation of dramas when I choose what I want to watch and that I also don’t compare. I have compared only once before but looks like I’m gonna have to do it again. :D

First of all, I haven’t been able to complete a k-drama since Strong Woman and Go Back Couple which I watched whilst they were both airing. If you watched them whilst they were airing you’d know how long ago that is now.  My reason for watching this drama was simply because it was about robots (kinda) and that in the teaser they said it’s a romantic comedy.

I’m not gonna lie, in the first few minutes of the drama I noticed the female lead was also the lead in Strongest Deliveryman which I only watched as far as episode one so I was a bit like “oh no, not her. I hope she’s not horrible for no reason in this one too”. I had the idea in my head that she was gonna be exactly the same as her SD character so I continued watching just for the sake of completing the first episode. I will admit that I wasn’t in the best mood the first time I watched it so I didn’t pay too much attention to everything else that was happening. So the next day I gave it another go and I fell in love!

This drama is for anyone who loves cute and fluffy dramas similar to Strong Woman and Shopping King Louis. I was crying, laughing, smiling and even felt anger and guilt throughout the entire drama. I think this is the second drama I’ve watched that has strong messages about family, friendship and love.

The bad bits:
? There were little tiny itsy bitsy questions that I had by the end of the drama but I didn’t think we’d would actually get any answers for but hey that’s drama for you
? It made me cry 30 out of 32 episodes but I’m pretty much an emotional person. Have your tissues (or in my case sleeve) ready!
? Instead of SLS I had a bit of a soft spot for the actor Kim Min Kyu- he’s so adorable in this drama

The good bits:
? It’s super cute and fluffy and leaves you wanting more.
? In my opinion the speed of the storyline was just right, it didn’t feel like it was dragging or rushed. In all honesty I wish it was like a UK soap which never finishes unless the network cancels it.
? The ending for me, in a word was absolutely perfect. It didn’t end in the usual wedding and baby cliche which is where I thought it was gonna go but I’m happy that it didn’t.
? The OST - MY GOODNESS ME!!!! I could listen to the whole thing on a loop all day long - which I have!
? The cast I believe worked extremely well. You could feel their love and affection for one another. They really made me wanna watch more so I’m glad I gave it another go otherwise I would’ve missed out on such a fantastic drama.

Rewatching value for me is 100/10, I will never get bored of rewatching.

Well done to everyone in and behind the drama. I look forward to seeing more of their work, even if it’s not together. :D
Well done to everyone who hung in there with the weekly Tortures of Cliffhangers. It hasn’t quite sunk in yet that it’s over because I’ve not felt sad but I’m sure after a few days it will hit me like a ton of bricks. XD

I watched Ugly Duckling: Don’t first and now I feel like I watched the Ugly Duckling Series in the wrong order but hey ho! Lol
I absolutely loved this series of UD! I think I should start looking at the order of the cast list because I was on the edge of my bed thinking I had SLS! Could’ve been because there were little things here and there in the drama that were distracting me from focussing 100% but thankfully I was wrong! Never felt such relief. :D

The bad bits:

? Alice - her crying. Honestly I couldn’t tell if she was crying or laughing. I mean I’ve laughed until I’ve cried but you would definitely be able to tell the difference and I felt like she was a huge cry baby. It was very distracting but with a bit of practice/training I’m sure the actress would do better.
? The aunt - not the character or even the actress but this was another thing that was very distracting to me and almost put me off. Her eyeshadow. At first I just thought her eye looked possessed because I didn’t see any of the white part and then I saw that she was actually looking downwards so her eyes weren’t fully open or when she blinked. (I know it may be silly to some viewers but it honestly doesn’t take much to scare/put me off but I got past it).

The good bits:

? Aston - I fell in love with him almost instantly. He’s kind, caring, helpful, considerate and just loveable.
? The storyline - not sure what it is but I do love a nice amnesia storyline. I wasn’t bored at all. I really liked that it had a mixture of school and friendships and not just about romance.
? Fuyu - honestly I giggled every time someone said “P’Fuyu” lmao. His name alone is memorable, but on a serious note I really liked the bond between him and Aston. The acting felt natural to me.

Although I’ve only seen Pity Girl and Don’t, I feel like PG is my favourite at this point in time. It may or may not change once I’ve watched the other series but I will definitely be having another watch of this drama.

This is my first super long lakorn! Most dramas I watch are no longer than 1 hour. When I first started watching episode one I'm not gonna lie it took me 2 nights to finish because I felt it was a bit slow and extremely dragging like "what the heck can be going on for 1 hour 50 mins" lol. By the time the first episode ended I was hooked. It was a story I'd never come across before so I was quite intrigued by where the storyline would end up going. The main leads were absolutely amazing, their chemistry was amazing. Unfortunately there had to be annoying characters but this one took the bloody biscuit. At times I felt like and did forward but not much. I loved watching them film scenes from their own lakorn which did feel a tiny bit weird but I adjusted.

The Longer It Got, The Worse It Gets

This is my first drama with this couple which I only started because I'd seen their movies.

The negatives are the multiple second chances, leads became extremely childish, too many unnecessary and snail paced episodes but especially the Italian stereotype. That cringed me out the most lol.

STORY
I liked the story....at least in the first half. It started to go down at 52 and then it just completely dragged out so it was 20 episodes too many. The fact that I watched the 72 episode version didn't ease the torture.

The romance was ruined me, I couldn't care less anymore and it turned a bit too melo and mankjang-y for my taste. The only thing that made the torture somewhat watchable was the Family scenes

CAST/ACTING
I really liked the cast and their acting. The people I loved at the beginning became the most annoying towards the middle and end and the person I despised at the beginning became the most loved. Rare occurance.

MUSIC
There was only one OST. Just imagine hearing the same song multiple times in one episode and then times that by 72. The one time I wish coprlyright would mute the music lol

REWATCH VALUE
For me? Heck no! There is nothing on this planet that would make me rewatch this. This is probably better suited to Melo and Makjang lovers and die hard fans of the leads.

Promising Start

STORY
I thought I was coming for a straight forward Contract Relationship (with Family ties) but it was anything but! First half was done so well, great promising start but then just before it hit the second half everything started going downhill and it was no longer what I came for. The leads relationship and family elements were what I loved most about this drama so I’m extremely disappointed at the turn of events. I thought the Romance was going to be a Slow Burn but in actuality, it pretty much didn’t exist - at least for the main couple. There were some other side couples that I did have fun watching so at least there were some backups but as I watch mostly for main couples, I can’t hide how disappointed I am in regards to them. Migs and his grandfather’s relationship was also really nice.

CAST/ACTING
Everyone did fantastic, it’s just a shame about the story. Migs and Sensen could’ve been (another) one of my favourite couples of 2021 but writers didn’t use them well enough.

MUSIC
No music that was noticeable enough to remember.

REWATCH VALUE
Unfortunately for me, this isn’t worth rewatching. Watching it once was enough for me lol

The second half really ruined this drama for me and because of that, there was no chance for any proper romance. This drama’s content is almost equivalent to a Ch3/7 lakorn with all the greed and murders which made me feel like I came out of my comfort zone because I normally watch Filipino content for the romance so this was a bit of a slap in the face. If you watch these types of dramas then this will be right up your street. I will say that this drama could’ve been much shorter but due to it having such a large cast I guess they needed to forever drag it out to go around every family member’s storyline and all the unnecessary characters getting too much screen time.

This drama in a word, is SAD from start to finish. As I read the synopsis from a different website, I didn't quite understand it. I was under the impression that only the father had Alzheimer's so you can only imagine how devastated I was when I finally realised Jin Woo had inherited the same condition as his father.

The cast as a whole were amazing but the best thing for me about this drama was Yoo Seung Ho. Man, that man can cry which just made me wanna jump into my screen so I could give him a huge hug and his portrayal of someone who has Alzheimer's was incredible. I also enjoyed the relationship between the characters who worked for the Jin Woo - they were absolutely hilarious. The relationship between Jin Woo and Park Dong Ho was what I'd call touching. He was close to Jin Woo but not too close if that makes any sense. Character wise, I thought Nam Gyu Man was absolutely INSANE. He is literally a psychopath who should've been locked up a very long time ago instead of having his troubles 'cleaned up for him'.

I will NOT be rewatching this, I was a real struggle the first time round. Whilst I enjoy investigation and law as genres, I am NOT a fan of tragedy storylines. But if you enjoy dramas with psychos, tragedy, investigations and law then this is one for you.

I didn't know what to expect from this drama. Whilst the story was definitely not perfect, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I hated the mothers most in this drama but more Jang Yi Kyung's mother.

I loved the OST and cast. I don't like when they portray characters as mean for absolutely no reason but I decided to ride this out and see if I should continue. The male lead was indeed what I'd call heartless but then he starts to do things that made me understand him a little more. I think that the actress who played both Na Doo Rim and Jang Yi Kyung did an amazing job.

I didn't like the fact that there was no confrontation during the time that Doo Rim and Choi Kang Ju had no contact. Its not like he didn't know where she lived and I felt really uncomfortable with the fact that Jang Yi Hyun had feelings for someone who looks exactly like his sister - that did NOT sit well with me but I did feel bad for him. Also, I felt the flashback to the historical portion of the drama lasted a bit too long and I just wanted the drama to return to the present time.

Because I enjoyed this drama so much despite its flaws I will definitely be rewatching as there were some really funny and cute scenes.

Love, love, love this drama! This was my first lakorn I watched a few months ago and it was a great place to begin. The characters have great chemistry. Mike works extremely well with Aom. I did find one or two character annoying but it wouldn't be a drama if they didn't have at least one annoying person. I've already rewatched this a couple of times since I first watched it a few months ago. I'm hoping to see them reunite in another drama. :)
