When the main lead tells you in the beginning that he's crazy; believe him and suspend any expectation of reality. It's like you're watching a guy tell you about what happened to him while he's still on LSD. This movie really didn't make much sense, but I think that was the point. In spite of that I ended up enjoying it, lucky for me I had already watched Kaiiji so I had a clue. At this point I think I'm going to try the Animie.
I was so sad to read the news of your passing. I will miss your talent; you were one of the best actors of your generation. I hope you are in a better place now.
is this really a good drama? I like the visuals of both lead but I´m not a big fan of noona types of drama but…
It's not bad. What I thought was interesting is how the other guy in the triangle is at least 10 yrs older than the female lead and everyone thought that was hunky-dory. To be fair when the younger person in the relationship is in their late teens or early 20's and the other person is more than 5 or 6 years older I think there is usually an unfair balance of power but this didn't "feel" like a noona romance (until later) because her dating EQ was so low.
It's awful.. I mean FL face.. her age shows up ... ML acting all shy and getting swayed by her "beauty" is illogical!…
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I watch "mature" dramas the same way I watch "teenybopper" dramas... is the story good? If the answer is yes, I'm in. I might be able to see your point if Joo Ji Hoon was in his teens or very early 20's but he's in his late 30's portraying a lawyer who's that age or maybe a little older. If he wanted a sweet young thing he'd already be dating one. Here's another thing, as you get older you start looking for the whole package. She may not be as beautiful as a 25 yr old but she was pretty enough to get him interested. Her personality and intelligence are what sealed the deal.
That has to be what they are doing, because it doesn't make any sense otherwise.
I too saw an article about a 2nd season, but I haven't seen anything official. I hope they take the opportunity to tweak it and make it more about the main couple since it will be a shorter version. I have to say I liked what the mainland Chinese version did with the story by getting rid of the blackmail bit and having them get pregnant by consummating the marriage. The writers were able to have him trust her much quicker so his struggle was with himself and who/what he really wanted. It was like his subconscious knew she was the one and once his inhibitions were gone his alpha personality took over and claimed her. The only reason it wasn't a home run for me was that they got rid of the fight where he finally confronts Anna about her role in the death of his baby...It was quite the let down that they went the whole "Anna's forgiven because she suffered too so let's have her at the wedding" thing.
Why do Chinese drama's always have extra hot ML and normal looking FL? Or vice versa.
I'm not going to go into whys or try to justify it , but in China there's a cultural bias against marrying beautiful women... hence the Chinese saying, Ugly wife, Happy Life. So the the "hot" men in China (who have their pick of who they want) might date a beautiful woman, but when it's time to get serious they go for normal with outstanding personality. As for the vice versa... it's probably a yin/yang thing . But believe it or not IRL lots of beautiful women all over the world have a hard time dating because many men assume that they must be "taken"; many also have a hard time making girlfriends because other girls see them as competition.
I really hate the trailer. I don't know, why are the CDramas are so much simply written? Like the script could…
If I had to take a guess I would say that it's because of the Communist Party's version of the FCC in China all it takes is one guy to say that time travel is out and then The Story of Ming Lan doesn't follow the book and becomes a very different drama.... (Though it's still a very good drama.) The drama is more likely to make it to air if it's conventional.
I really don't understand why this drama is so popular. I have seen many Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese and Thai dramas,…
Because the chemistry between the two leads was "real" even if it took a while to heat up. I thought it was refreshing that for once a childhood crush didn't mean anything to the main lead and the handsome rich guy loses out to the talented but poor artist. Is it the best drama? No, but I still like it. If you decide to try again don't rewatch just pick up from where you left off.
(Sorry Ji Soo but you did get the girl in My 1st Love.)
