Upon hearing so many positive reviews and remarks about this drama, the craze has gotten into me as well. I decided to binge-watch this during my mandatory quarantine. It was very difficult to get into the drama right at the very beginning - the plot seemed too thick to debunk. There was a shroud of mystery surrounding the characters, which was intriguing, but together very complex and required complete concentration to realise the whole plot. The story seemed very underrated and very unlike the traditional cheesy Kdrama. It tackles themes such as mental illness, murder, friendships, romance, childhood trauma and so much more. To be honest, it can be a handful to handle for a beginner watcher. However, the cast is very talented, just as expected from Kdrama veterans, which were perfectly chosen to act for this difficult series. I believe that the characters and the acting is what made this drama spectacular and completely unforgettable. Not to mention the gorgeous sets and beautiful outfits. You cannot disagree that Ko Moon Young is definitely a Kdrama style icon of 2020. In addition, the soundtrack was very fitting, with a mix of Korean ballads and English songs. Personally, I could not rate this a 10 as it was lacking clarity and was not that captivating at the start: I only got into the series as it was progressing. But I will not forget the chemistry and the acting of this drama. Overall, this series is definitely a new concept and I can see the praise behind it. If you are into deeper, heart wrenching and a bit disturbing themes and plots, I feel like you will enjoy this a lot!

Watched this while on a plane to Seoul. I am a fan of Lee Jun Ho and was excited to see he is playing the main character in this movie. It was difficult to watch, it got pretty boring after 15min. Although I do like the historical aspects and modern K-culture references in this movie, the storyline was not well-executed, having a lot of potential. Personally, I would say the acting was the best, even though it was still mediocre. Not much to say after that. Not very impressed, giving it higher points just for the lead actor. If you are interested in light-hearted historical Korean dramas, you might enjoy this though.

I have been on the watch for this drama to come out for a long time, as it is based on a webtoon, and dramas like that tend to have an intriguing storyline. I was really drawn to the whole ambience and aesthetics of this drama from the very first episode. The characters had a lot of chemistry together, and I enjoyed that the female lead could easily overpower the male. Their love story was well-built, with a bit of a "destiny" kick to it. Personally, I feel like some of the side characters did not get as good of a backstory as some of the others. I can proudly say that the OST was phenomenal and is the new gem in my playlist. Overall, it was a light drama to watch after work, nothing special, although very promising.

After all of the positive things I have heard about this popular Kdrama, I have decided to finally give it a go. It took me a very long time to finally finish the series, I kept on stopping and putting it off after intervals of watching 2-3 episodes of the show. I can see why it is that popular: the cinematography, the lovable cast, the amazing OST and the fantasy theme that takes you back to the times when Goblin was still airing. But I will never fully understand when people say it is their favourite drama. Personally, it is lacking in so many various fields, especially with the levels of engagement. As mentioned before, I was about to drop the show, but it suddenly became very good towards the end. Why did the director and the scriptwriters keep us on edge right from the beginning, but instead decided to make the drama full of thrill at the end? It is mind-boggling. However, I did enjoy the complete storyline, as I am a fan of folklore and the Korean cultural elements, which dominated the drama. IU was a brilliant actress for this drama, and she keeps on improving and improving with every role that she acts. Additionally, I loved the fashion and overall aesthetics that she brought out. The male lead, on the other hand, I did not like: nor his character, nor his acting or the chemistry between him and IU. The tragic love story of the hotel owner tore me to pieces, and I wish they would have chosen to reincarnate the general. I would say the secondary characters were more favourable than the leads. Moreover, the amazing OST is a huge part of why I like this show too. There are so many great singles, all equally as beautiful and sung by very talented singers. In the end, would I recommend this drama? Yes, I feel like it is a definite staple of a drama to watch, but for me, it is a watered down version of Goblin. There is definite room for improvement, but it is a great watch with fascinating cinematography and soundtrack!

This is a fantastic series! As a huge fan of the original Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim, to be truthful, I did not have any expectations before watching season 2. And boy how I was wrong to think the sequel could not conquer the first season. If anything, I would put both of the series alongside each other in terms of how captivating and beautiful they are. First off, this series, while keeping some of the original characters, offered other, very lovable and unique new leads, which made Doldam Hospital shine once again. I live for the character development in this series. It almost feels like that hospital in the countryside draws in very talented and charming individuals. Coming into this show I was very hyped to see Doctor Kim again! He is a very talented and lovable, both, as a character and as an actor. Compared to the first season, this one as well, had a very steamy romance, where the chemistry worked out perfectly (even with the side characters). Second, all of the cast is so lovable, even the bad guys at times. I enjoyed the little cameo that Doctor In Bom had for a bit. Third, the OST was as memorable as ever, with some songs definitely going into my playlist. Finally, this series left me amazed at how well it was executed. The staff behind this drama did an amazing job building a season 2. They need to make a final, 3rd season, with the reunion of the whole talented Doldam Hospital staff to wrap things up! Go watch both of the seasons right now!

Words cannot even describe how much I loved this drama! I am not usually the one to go for older series, as the cinematography and acting are usually not appealing, but this was something else. It probably was not the story that captivated me the most, even though it was quite unique for a time travelling Kdrama. The storyline was straightforward, nothing too complicated. What I loved about this show mostly was the chemistry between the leads - it was out of this world: the perfect amount of cheesiness, kissing scenes and all things adorable. I can see now very clearly why this is named as one of the essential Kdramas for beginners. It is a classic, staring from the cute couple, to the crazy side characters, to the ridiculous cliches and the captivating OST, which, overall, make this drama a masterpiece for me. So if you want something light and easy-to-watch, this drama will leave you surprised and will make you fall in love with it! (I am still having withdrawal symptoms but the way haha)

I am so glad I decided to watch this. Was feeling very sad a couple of nights ago, and watching movies that transcend a similar vibe make me more at peace. First off, I really loved the trailer. However, the story was a lot different than I have imagined. It's your typical tear-jerker chronic illness movie, when we all know that the characters cannot stay true to themselves and go great lengths to make others happy before their death. The main couple was beautiful, even more beautiful was the story and how they sacrificed individually. Kind of makes you believe in soulmates, does it not? The overall aesthetic and the vibe of this movie left me really impressed. Makes me want to explore Taiwanese production more. I would definitely recommend this for people who like melodramas, it is a really nice and simple movie.

Just as much as the main show, I loved this special! It is like a parting gift to the viewers who were fans of the drama. First, it gives you an insight into Master Kim's past and love life. The female character was a nice addition to the episode. Second, I enjoyed the way the main couple's relationship was played out at the end. Made me realise that I will not get to see them anymore though. Overall, it is a refreshing last episode of a great drama. I wish they would have made more of these special episodes.

Hands down one of the best medical dramas out there! I was completely captivated with with what seems a quite regular storyline about everyday life of doctors. Just like many stories, this one left us hanging as it presented dilemmas of life and death, rich and poor etc. The richness of the story was built up slowly, as every character in the hospital got their own screen time and a way to showcase it. I loved the main couple in the drama as well, not to mention that they had their steamy first kiss right at episode 1! I just wish there was more of them, but I guess it is not completely a romance show after all. Master Kim's character was out of this world: badass with style, kindhearted and mean at the same time, which I loved. Loved that the 20 episodes presented various sicknesses of all levels, teaching the viewers about health as well. The soundtrack seemed very fitting as well, and blended into the whole vibe of the drama really well. Overall, this is a masterpiece of a medical Kdrama, so if you are into these type of shows, please give this a go. Now, it is time to watch the continuation story of this drama, hopefully it is just as good as this!

I had very high expectations before watching this drama. Felt like it was appropriate to watch a tear-jerker drama due to the ongoing things and problems in my life. The love story of Noh Eul and Joon Yeong was a beautiful construct that just shows how romance is difficult to pursue due to some circumstances, even though you can love a person so much. First, the story was very unique, however, I spoiled so many things for myself before fully watching this drama. Of course, there were plenty of Kdrama cliches and cheesy moments, however, it fit in well with the whole storyline of this show. I just wish the ending was more impactful for me, as I did not shed a single tear and was confused about how certain characters dealt with his death. As for the acting, this show was a good mixture of either very talented, or inexperienced actors. However, I did like that the OST had both, Suzy's and Kim Woo Bin's songs, in addition to the beautiful English soundtrack. Would I rewatch this? Probably not, as the drama in itself is 20 episodes long, too long for me to dig up all of the scenes that are worthy to watch again and again. Nevertheless, this show is a Hallyu classic and has a fair share of its special moments. So if you are a loyal Kdrama fan, this is a must-watch.

This was a cute and refreshing movie to watch after a heavy and sad tv series. I will stand by my opinion about Japanese manga movie adaptations - it cannot compare to the original novel and story. Sure, the production was very nice and the casting was super cute, but it was your average 2h of wasting time. I would have rather just read the manga, as I have heard good reviews about it. The character development and relationships were very unclear, the acting was mediocre at best. Probably, the simple cinematography was the best aspect of this film. There are definitely better manga adaptations out there, but if you are into cute high school love stories, this movie might peek your interest.

After watching Parasite, my friend had suggested for me to watch this movie. There is just something with Koreans and creating these twisted and dark plots. Overall, the movie was fantastic. The story was very unique and captivating, kind of wanting to send the viewer off of this Earth. Some of the elements of the movie I could not believe in. The beginning was slow, but it was definitely worth the wait as the movie quickly picked up the pace. I thought that the effects were great for the time this was made in, and the cast was superb. I have to admit that my favourite element throughout this film was hands down the classical music - it was very fitting and created suspense. I would definitely rewatch it, as I am sure I missed some important symbols and scenes watching this the first time. Definitely a must-watch if you are into twisted stories!

A short but interesting web drama about friendships, broken hearts and the morals of love and relationships. To be honest, I mainly started watching it because it is a short and easy-to-watch series, Sunmi had a feature song in this and Hani was playing the main character. I could watch that woman all day, her performance was so good and natural, and the chemistry between the bartenders was out of this world! Rather than liking the storyline, I definitely enjoyed the friendships in the drama more. The most memorable one was between the flatmates and how male and female friendships are portrayed with trust and support. The only thing that I did not agree on was the ending, and how the relationship between the two main female leads played out - I wish it could have been more impactful. Other than that, watch this drama for a simple and light watch.

Short summary - quite disappointed with the drama. I am probably in the minority here, but please, it is just my personal opinion. Was really hyped up for this, as I have heard so many positive reviews about this show being an epic love story, heart wrenching and brilliantly scripted. If anything, I only liked the first half of the story and decided to mainly watch this because of the good reviews, and because I am always interested in stories about North Korea. This drama was borderline inaccurate once it comes to storytelling about the "hermit kingdom" (not sure whether the screenwriters can can go ALL IN ACCURATE about the country, knowing that they have tense relations with the other Korea). That is what probably ticked me off the most. Additionally, I thought that the acting was a bit immature too, especially for a TV show with such an intense plot. Although I liked the OST a lot, and that's probably the only thing I'm taking away from this drama.

This was definitely a fresh drama with a beautiful storyline that almost seems real and surreal at the same time. Inspiring, lively and unbelievable at times, is what I would describe this series. Personally, the first part of the drama was more my style, as it kept me coming back for it. Iteawon Class is a lot about Korean culture, and lets you into the newer emerging culture about business and nightlife in Seoul. A lot of viewers were quite disappointed with the ending, which is totally understandable with the whole shift in dynamics and the main point of the story. However, I dare to disagree, as the characters and the overall aesthetics are what made me fall in love with the drama. On top of that, the side characters got their little own screen time + there was an emphasis on Korean food, which looked amazing. Yes, some character development was disappointing, but it is not something major. Lastly, I found the OST very dreamy and uplifting, and now some songs are on constant repeat.

Although I thought it would not be your typical drama, it did have those cheesy Kdrama moments. I do believe that this drama is worth a watch if you are into vibrant, inspiring slice of life series!
