Ohhh….it’s difficult to imagine how they could incorporate such a misunderstanding considering now that even the parents know. 🙈 I mean even if Tao overthinks it (specially if this happens shortly after her friend’s death, it just feels a bit forced

There’s probably a gap after they made up. For instance, Luke’s mother was surprised that he ditched his friends’ trip to go to Tibet. Since she already knew he was in the NW Region for work/ visit Tao when he was sick, she should not have been surprised.

The project is supposed to take 18 months so the Tibet trip probably happened towards the end/ shortly after it wrapped up

The drama deviated from the novel. You can’t have a 100% carnal FWB relationship and then get mad at your partner for not treating you like a boyfriend 🙈

In the drama it wasn't purely sexual. The drama didn't adopt the FWB relationship arc. (Or at least not for too long) They were exclusive but secret because of the company's dating policy/ Tao didn't want people to think her success was because of their relationship.

It was kind of like a marriage of convenience only it's for dating? The issue was that between the lack of terms/ their roles/ lack of communication things kind of fell apart😅

That being said, it is interesting how she managed to keep it a secret from her parents for so long. With Luke it would have been more believable since he anyway isn't the type to share his secrets whereas Tao seemed to be really close with her family 🙈

I guess from Tao's pov I kind of can see why. It's not that unusual to catch the relationship bug once your friends start to get happily married. She already admitted to Sun Yu that she was still confused about their relationship. Not telling the ex and Luke's reaction also would have been on her mind when the friend kept telling that 4 years was a good time to consider the next step.

Perhaps, after the cousin's revelation, she might have hoped it wouldn't backfire so badly? Specially since in a way by talking about her future plans, she's essentially reassuring Luke that she only sees him in her future? Her timing was her worst enemy🙈

In the novel did they have such a scene?

I didn't really look into it indepth but most likely certain intimate scenes/ scenes they may have felt not appropriate/ reducing the time in general to meet standard screentime...it could be anything 🙈
