IKR?!

I’ve been deluding myself these days by reminding myself that only in Cdramas SMLs go completely crazy whereas in Kdramas, the standard is for SMLs to suffer in silence - play the role of a tortured sacrificial lamb🙈

As the prime minister, he'd make a powerful ally or adversory since the Crown doesn't have absolute power. That's the reason why the Queen Mother keeps egging him to get him to join her side.

I An also technically needs his support to make sure whatever his end game is put into motion.

So far he's a ticking time bomb.🙈

Her fake nails are so distracting 😂
Someone on X meantioned that they may be symbolic. As a child she had a nervous tick where she'd pick on fingers/ nails when she was frustrated. The press ons are a reminder that eventhough on the outside, she seems brave and glamorous, behind it, she still has not outgrown her insecurities. She's just wearing a mask- just like the press on nails.

Very random but do we think that Ian's room is Fengshui guy approved? For some weird reason I feel very uncomfortable…

I feel that Choi's situation might not be that unusual since it's a bit of a common practice to abandon unwanted /unaffordable children near public places. If it was during Joseon times, Choi would have been an Eunach probably. The fact that they gave him such a high position though is interesting since royal companions tend to be from noble families too usually- unless this was another way used by the king to undermine I An's status?

The PM definitely wouldn't hurt HJ and his reaction during the poisoning scene felt so raw. As for the leak...idk. compared to potential death, it doesn't feel as harmful but is still effective enough to end the marriage so it would be a good opportunity for the PM. Specially considering the fact that he didn't warn the royal couple's team as soon as he saw the article?

The Queen mother and her father are so suspicious but at the same time always looks so shocked, tht it's hard to figure out who's causing all the trouble, and who is working on damage control 🙈🙈🙈

Hi, when does the MC reunite after he erased her memories? Will there be a change in their dynamic? Be more passionate I mean? In either hate, love, or care?

Have you watched First Love-Hatsukoi? It was really good. 9 episodes- available on Netflix.

It can be emotional at times but the ending was worth it.
There are more dramas out there but this one is the most memorable to me in the recent past. It's targetted at mature audience though (few 🔞 scenes).

True! Even the fact that the royal edict somehow reached I An without getting destroyed is suspicious. Could it be possible the former king was conscious enough to handover the edict to I An right before he succumbed to his injuries….or the FIL murdered him to proctect his daughter and the crown? 🙈

It might not be the original. Previews can be misleading but given the emotional rollercoaster the PM went through…
But a scandal is way less dangerous than getting poisoned again right?

She will be ostracised for awhile and castle Group's shares will take a dive but if the priority is to keep her alive, this would be a good solution (at least to a delusional mind) right? The PM seems like the type who would support the "greater good".

TMAI🙈

She still feels the most suspicious but something about her father irks me too (it might be just my AOS instincts tingling seeing as I kept expecting the actor to be evil even on Bon Appetit)🙈

The PM would make a worthy adversary too.

TBF it isn’t a contract marriage without a contract. It’s pretty standard for contract marriage dramas to…
Given how the drama hasn’t dragged obstacles beyond half an episode, they’ll probably wrap it up within half - 1 episode.

The contract marriage is the main theme right? I mean that’s what they had been promoting since last year. The palace drama is secondary. The contract marriage is key to winning both objectives (HJ’s wish to have a title and I An’s wish to break his shackles). From Hiuju’s side we are seeing the classing flaw behind contract marriage romances. She didn’t like him before the contract and even had trust issues during the initial contract period, but now by ep 9, she will accept her feelings.

TMAI. On the bright side, the more hate PC gets, the more successful it is (just like how it was back when LR was airing). It’s rather pathetic really.

Besides dramas do pay homage to actors’ past roles at times too with little teases and it can be fun. The most recent one I recall is all the character homages that were done in KLT. It was like we were sharing an inside joke with the characters🙈

X in general. Some users were implying that PC was copying LR by comparing scenes eventhough the scenes in question are pretty common in dramas in general.

For instance the scene where Sol ran towards Sunjae in ep 1 at the pool vs. the scene where Hiuju rushes towards I An to escape princess lessons. Without context some haters started to compare the 2 actresses eventhough the context behind the 2 scenes are completely different. There were a few other scenes as well but this particular post was everywhere on my X for the past 2-3 days.

Love makes people blind and stupid? Specially when both parties are stubborn?🙈

The contract leak might be a ruse anyway. Like you said, I An’s been plotting for so long. It doesn’t make sense how it would easily get leaked. The timing is also suspicious specially given how the spy met the PM right before the leak happened. The reason behind her nervous state was not explained either (seeing as she couldn’t have been directly involved in the poisoning).

It’s possible that I An may have laid a trap?

Nothing hurts fans more than feeling betrayed by their idols (which in turn helps the Queen Mother’s agenda) so as overused this trope is, it works with this story.

HOWEVER I agree you have a good point on priorities. I really hope they don’t rush the drama. Since the script was written back before 12 eps dramas were the norm, I’m afraid to imagine how the pacing might get affected. There are too many potential suspects at the moment and the final resolution isn’t very clear🙊
