In the book they were related by blood but it’s more washed down in the drama. They refer to each other as their…
Good to know because even in the summary section above sourced from WeTV mentioned "The Prince Cang Xuan of Xuanyuan was Xiao Liu’s cousin." I'm sure a lot of people were confused, including myself, because of contradictory sources.

I wonder what happened with the wine as well. This episode flew by so fast.
TSJ suspected that it's been tampered with especially after his maids said his fiancee touched the sets. One of the bottles wasn't painted with blossoms.

No, they aren't . His grandmother is her mother's master and then her mother was adopted into the family and became…
I believe this is an error made by the production team and scriptwriter(s) for not ironing things out. Again, I didn't read the novel so I don't know what CX and XY's relationship is in there. But the drama's dialogues and the printed relationship chart by Tencent from the link you shared also aren't matching up. If there's no blood relationship and XY's mother is adopted, why did King of Xiyuan said to XY when they first met as adult to say "You look neither like your mom nor dad, but your lips/mouth look just like your maternal grandmother", then XY replied along the line of "she married the wrong person" referring the wrong person as the King of XiYuan. In one of the earlier episodes, XY also said to CX that she would help him get what he wants (his throne) no matter what because she said..verbatim..."they have blood relation."

This is why I have been confused about their relationship until ep 21. But now I'm sure the production company probably glazed over this, hoping no one would question too much. Why they did this? Probably because modern day society frowns upon marriage/amorous relationship between close cousins and would lose viewers, and maybe to pass censorship.

I guess we can just let the viewers decide whatever relationship XY and CX have that makes the viewers happy.

For anyone who isn’t sure if XY and CX are blood related, ep 21 clarifies their relationship. I didn’t read the novel, but in the drama, they are blood related cousins. His father and her mother are siblings. In ep 21, the King of Xiyuan’s referred to his wife as XY’s “maternal grandmother.” CX referred to her as “paternal grandmother.” It wasn’t translated in English as such, but simply as “grandmother” and “grandfather.” But in spoken Chinese, these terms were used.

On a separate note, in ancient China, it’s common for cousins to be married as long as they don’t share the same last name.

XL was full of tricks. It was so funny he created the targeted rain cloud over the boat and it only rained if XY was standing at the front of the boat so that she had to seek refuge and be closer to him.😁

Hi. I have a general question. Does anyone know how to quickly find your comments? Every time I need to search…
There’s no easy way unfortunately. I see that you already got a response on finding comments if someone did a reply to it via the notification. The only other sure way is to keep track of the share link. You do this by clicking on the three dots , select share, copy the link to a maintained log/note/doc so that when you want to revisit that comment, just paste the link into the browser.

Among the three MLs, I find Xuan with the most presence and magnetism on screen. It’s not the character, but how Zhang Wan Yi breathes life into Xuan. Shiqi and XL are well written characters, too; but just one notch below zhang wan yi’s Xuan in showcasing the emotion. Ep 14 and 15, he was very expressive. Tears were welling up my eyes in ep 15.

We need more female directors to have this intricate detailing in the drama. Also, I think coz the novel author…
Definitely need more female directors. As for adaption, it’s always a big plus if the author is onboard as the scriptwriter.

Ahhh.. Lost You Forever is so strangely addictive. There are so many layers and feelings interwoven together among characters that overtime these emotions are blurred. The characters just know they have strong feelings but who you thought you hate isn’t really hate; who you thought you’re afraid of isn’t really fear,

It’s so delicate and subtle. I noticed it’s a female director and maybe that’s why she’s more fitting in interpreting the original work? It’s such an awesome show because somehow all three male leads are strong contenders which makes it so difficult for the viewers to decide who deserves the FL. They all have loads of positive traits in deserving her. Ahhh the dilemma… even as a viewer.

Wow.. I’m impressed with zhang Wan Yi playing CX. His facial expression did a180 degree change when he learned the truth about XIao Yao. So heartbreaking.

I'm not sure what it is with this series. I find myself looking forward to catching each episode, yet nothing is really happening with the storyline. There are plenty of unanswered questions and mysteries surrounding each character that prod us to continue watching. One thing I know for sure is I really enjoy watching Yang Zi. If she weren't cast in here, I don't think I would have stayed on this far...and very much looking forward to tomorrow's episode!

hi guys, been waiting for the whole series to finish before starting to watch it. just curious, whats with the…
It's not that bad, but definitely could have been a lot better. Pacing is slow and a lot of repetitiveness that goes nowhere. We're at ep 22, and things just started to pick up.

Ep 22, Han Ye dropping all his decorum as a prince is so adorable and borderline shameless. His smile even carries a sliver of mischievousness. Ahhhh...the Gong Jun I know is back!

The lazy writing is getting worse... you go assassinate and you'd bring a sword that reveals where you are from...…
Which part is this? If you're referring to Mo Bei, that's not his sword.

I really need explanation in eps 1. Did she deliberately plan to accompany him, like sailing and ssleeping literally…
Yes, from the very beginning, it was all part of her plan to get closer to him and establish herself in imperial/court affairs.
