I began to watch this since it kept popping up on MDL main page, and I'm glad I did. I had to write down my incoherent thoughts! So much is packed into this story that I'm overwhelmed. While the story follows WWX , it's so much more than His Story. So many tragedies, regrets, misunderstandings, devastation, cowardness, hate, manipulation, hypocrisy, false righteousness... One tyranny falls only for others to spring. Some of the most prominent moments that reflects reality are 20s eps. Humanity gets lost when it's "the other" and "the enemy", no mercy, no forgiveness. The meetings where different sect leaders damning WWX , painting him as the devil , no one had a spine but MianMian choosing to stand up for what's right (& lwj). In life many are flunkies following what's said w/out thinking or just choosing to be part of the herd. While I understand JC as a leader that he needs to be tactful- but honestly he's ungrateful to those who saved his life, and he's a selfish and a coward. There are the manipulators who weave the stories of others prompting misery and pain. While in a way WWX gets a second chance, many lost and never got their redemption story. Anyway I just needed to get some of the chaos out of my head. This is a really good story, with a well written script. There are a lot of technical issues, but the good writing and execution by most actors cover the blemishes. WWX has become one of my favorite characters.
The acting and filming location were great. Non is a great actor and he has good chemistry with Punpun (who I'll admit not my favorit). I think the idea is there but something about it just doesn't feel right and wasn't done well. Also I'm not sold on the romance, I mean I feel it's rushed and they do mention that in the series. Even Tee's answer as to why he loves her -to me- wasn't convincing. Honestly I thought the ending was good and what made me give this series an extra 0.5. Overall, I think this is a good watch, it's a slow burner but has a lot of emotions and the acting is good.
I remember this, the kid was the best thing about the drama. The actors were good and I wouldn't mind watching it again. I think my main issue is that it got draggy and there was something about the main leads' relationship that ticked me off in the 2nd half of the series.
Ikr? The best dramas and movies for me are low rated here in MDL. Can't understand people sometimes.
I agree with you...in fact I am one of those who long ago decided I've had enough with tragedy -real life is too shitty- so I look for a happier outlet in scripted world. However, sometimes the premise and story are too good to not watch. knowing that this will end in tragedy, I still would like to watch it.
So this was a pretty good season -better than expected considering OCN miss/hit with sequels. The cases imo are better than s1, they feel more real and really hits you deep (3 cases made me cry). I love how they gave us two similar characters and how they paved their ways differently in life. Such contrast is important in answering the question of -if you were brought up with hate and poor environment, how would your outlook on life be as an adult? Are you going to be a monster and shed humanity or hold on to it? Can't wait to start s3.
I like Imortal and rewatched it the other day and with all the feels decided to watch this but I couldn't with Lia and Mateo gone T.T after all the hardship. I did however enjoy watching them being all domesticated and lovey-dovey. I'll keep it at that.
Embarking on another (subbing) adventure after Patiharn Rak Kam Kob Fah ^^https://nekomeowmeow.com/pacharamontra/
Your name and logo is so befitting this lakorn, I was watching the beginning and was wondering since when did you start adding neko sounds XD Thanks for the subbing this <3
I think I can relate to what you wrote, though I definitely changed my physical routine and diet to be more healthy. I think my biggest problem now is mental, as I watch, I get so engrossed in the story that I need a recovery period after. I stopped watching dramas all together for a few years. but now I'm back and I do marathons but I limit myself to one every 1-3 months just so I don't go into my shutdown period after watching something. When the story and the characters are compelling it becomes such incapacitating burden after to move on. I can add like others, eyestrain is a persisting issue.
