WBDS it's a story that worth to be live, because that is what you'll have. I think that it's impossible to only 'watch' the serie, but it needs to be felt, to be lived. Every characters needs to be understood, good or evil it doesn't matter, because it doesn't really exist, that is what make this drama so beautiful.
Of course if you like the simple love story, it's not the drama for you.
Hope it could be useful somehow...

If you enjoy watching light dramas with simple narrative,
If you love (preparing) and eating food,
If you like Ai Hashimoto,
If you are interested with rural Japan or agriculture in general,
this film is for you.
I love this film. It has calming effect on me. Beautiful is not enough to describe its cinematography. The film allowed us to observe, from afar and up close, the lives of Komori - rice paddies, little insects, trees, fruits, etc.The unexpected use of electronic music on the background is effective. And, I love the soft voice of Hashimoto narrating throughout the film.
You won't regret watching it. Maybe you will end up wanting more.

Worth the risk of watching ghosts if you hate horror like me :)
Another dark magic romance that was worth it! I have always loved this genre as much as I hate horror but the chemistry and world are worth it.The story is pretty good. There are unexpected twists in the drama, but nothing too much to blow your mind. There are jumpscares but you know it coming so it's fine. As for the story itself, I think as a novel, it's way better than the series. So many lines and paragraphs become just a scene where you miss out a lot of details because you are focused on the characters. I personally liked the ending, maybe because that decreases the scare and fear of the ghost. Lowkey grateful; plus points for that 😭 Honestly, I really liked the ghost, maybe even more than the main leads I'll say 😂 She was a more complex and emotional than the lead characters. When it comes to Paran, with all due respect, I hated him a lot because of the way he kept going hot and cold with Khem. Like come on man! What the hell? But this love story was definitely the kind that you know it's blaring red flags, but you still want them together because 'basically' he isn't all bad; just bad at expressing and all🙄 I was as frustrated on myself as I was on Paran. Khemjira simply put is a good human with a wretched fate. Nothing more honestly. But their love story didn't feel anything more than just love at first sight, a crush. The next memorable character is Jet. I LOVED HIM! Seriously! His character is the most genuine and solid of all. And though Charn logic pissed me off from time to time, I liked him too. This pair had a good love story that made more sense. Grandma Si and Khem's mother were also favourites of mine. Thong and Ake were adorable characters too.
The cast was real good. Especially the two lead pairs. Khem and Paran were so well played by Namping and Keng! Both there acting skills are amazing. Though I'd say, they could cry better. They did not have it to be emotional enough. But the biggest plus point? KengNamping is one of the best pairings out there, period. Because all they have to do is look at each other and you are already swooning 😭 That is the main reason why, even if Paran was giving mixed signals and unintentionally hurting Khem, I couldn't let go of my desire to see them together. They just make sense together. The kind that makes your heart smile and relax when they're together and clench and sink when they aren't. If this chemistry is just onscreen, I must say, they deserve a standing ovation for that. Then comes FirstOne as Jet. This might be the best actor of the lot. Every emotion, every nuance, you see it written all over his face. He makes you feel exactly the same as him. Especially the scenes where he was spying his ship, I actually felt I was with my bestie giggling over a random couple. Loved his acting 🥹 And of course Tle as Charn did a very good job, portraying the stable character who was the typical nerd and a calm anchor. Again, this pair goes soooo well! I just cannot 😭 Love to see them together. Even if they're chemistry isn't as overwhelming as the main leads, they have a strong bond. Green as Rampeung was a very good choice. She's so gorgeous but also an amazing actress. I sympathized soo many times; yes, I sympathized with a ghost ✋️ Also loved other casts like Noknoi Uraiporn as Grandma Si, Om Manita as Khem's mother and Udon and Ryuji as Thong and Ake.
Music was great! The intro Phap Man? Damn! That was one insane! Awesome song. Aof Surapol, you're voice is amazing! I really really loved it! The traditional elements of the song are so beautiful. Feels home and makes me want to do classsical dance!
The drama did feel a bit out of concept at times though. Suddenly the shift was towards the romance alone in between and you wonder where Rampeung is while these people have the audacity to think of love in between 😂 It was really slow and painful to see misunderstandings grow. Too slow. Then I had a big doubt. The ghost says this would be her last kill and she would be satisfied after that. So I wondered why this time? Won't he reincarnate again? Why stop now? Don't you mind the soul of you 'enemy' freely living next lifetime? I also did not understand why the monk waited all along? I mean, all that 'she had to understand, he had to lose power, he had to give up' thing...didn't get the logic. Yah, there are plot holes.
Overall, this series is a good Thai drama. It has it all - good genre, acting and cast and one of the best chemistries out there. But the story could have been more complex and deep. I'll rewatch it again someday. Worth watching. Grateful I put my fear of ghosts aside to finally watch it!

This is my first review. So I have chosen a perfect series that warmed my heart. The story is really light-hearted and warm that it is so fun to watch with a perfect blend of romance and comedy (and a lot of kisses). The emotions of each characters are well constructed and directed that the series is perfect for Binge watching.
The actors have done far beyond justice to their characters which makes the series a lot beautiful. The cast cannot be in anyway replaced with anyone.
The OSTs (my favourite being the title theme) are very beautiful and gives a lift to the series.
Last but not the least, the series does not contain any kinds of abusive characters, evil plots, forced love. That's what makes this series a perfect to re-watch when you are down.

Painfully Beautiful
It was a rollercoaster ride. Legit sad one minute and giggling next minute. The OTP were tragic couple but so amazing together. I usually don’t do sadness in dramas, but I enjoyed every minute of this one. ML is incredible- smart, sweet, sensitive, sensible and, most of all, selfless in this love. FL showed growth and strived to love ML as much as he loved her and in striving for that, loved him just as much. No toxic relationship here. The time traveling was not confusing and very few loopholes compared to usual time travel dramas and the story overall was so good that I can’t even pick at the loose threads because I’m too busy reminiscing the chemistry of OTP and growth of individual characters. Even the side characters were fantastic where second couple was cute but didn’t take up too much screen time and antagonist were bad/annoying but just enough to move story along rather than create unnecessary angst. Even rando side characters like the teachers and parents are absolutely lovable. A beautiful love story and I would knowingly live through the painful parts again just to watch ML quietly support and love FL and FL realize her feelings for ML are actually deep care, respect and adoration.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
An unexpected collaboration!
This was not something I was expecting to watch, but it was cute. I like the collaboration between the two actors; the bromance was very sweet and heart-warming.They were many funny moments that make me laugh (especially, the part where Lee Seung Gi was setting up the tent and Min-ho was just watching lol). You can tell that Lee Seung Gi and Lee min Ho are good friends. Also, Lee Seung Gi is such a good singer! I enjoyed watching him sing in a comfortable as well as peaceful setting.
In simple terms, it's a short-film-like collaboration that leaves you with a comfortable yet relaxing moment as you watch the two talk, chat, and joke with one another.
I hope to see more of these two doing more collaboration in the future. There were a total of four-episode, but it felt too short!

I realy loved this drama. I know it's a similiar to GTO and Gokusen - there's a 'strange' teacher who teaches life lessons but it's still different. The teacher is a swindler and he started teaching by mistake but he is probably one of the best teachers I've ever seen. He knows what to say and when to say it. He's smart and kind ^^. There is also a beautiful nurse (there has to be something like that in this kind of drama), an assistant teacher (who is kinda lost) and a funny girl in class who sometimes might get on your nerves but if she is your friend then she is the best one you could ever have. A person who would never betray you for her own good.
All the actors fit their roles realy well. They know how to portray their character, what expressions to use and etc. Perfect ;)
Even though there's only one main song it realy fits the show. A song liar in a drama about a liar (in other words : swindler). When it plays you somehow feel relieved because you know that everything is okay now. Just this feeling ^^
In rewatch value I gave it 9 not because I didn't like something about it. It's just that if you watch it the second or etc tim you can't get that amazing exciting feeling which you get the first time watching somthing like this ;)
Sooo, in one sentence : when you have free time, if you love j-school dramas you should definitely watch this!!!

The story is based on a real-life person, Asako Hirooka. Even though it is based on her life, there are many differences between the real Asako and Asa. The story in this drama, even though is based on actual events are changed to be more enjoyable (a typical Japanese style, I must say. No melodramatic). It does make the drama more enjoyable but I think it would be also pretty interesting if they based it correctly. I mean. I would really really like to know how it is like during that era. Since I feel like the drama only shows maybe 1/10 of the struggles that the real Asako had faced.
Overall, if you ignore the differences between the real Asako and the drama, this drama is a treasure. It is very inspiring and shows you a real character growth and also point out how important for the society to support and nurture women. That women have the same capability as men or even more.
WARNING: These may make you upset if you are looking for a real real real history story. Don't read it.
The real Asako is a child from a concubine. She and Hatsu have different mothers. The real Hatsu died at the age of 25.
The real Shinjiro, is not really supportive of Asako's passion. Asako called tutors after she got permission from Shinjiro. But he did not really care or believe in her capability in the beginning. In addition, the real Shinjiro, took Asako's handmaid Mume as a concubine (it's normal at that era) after Asako lost her fertility (But Asako had a daughter before this happened). He had 4 children with Mume.

A story filled with one of the most organic and gratifying slow burn romances I have ever seen
As a fan of Enemies to Lovers and Arranged Marriage tropes, the Prisoner of Beauty is the perfect set up for an entertaining watch. Then I quickly realized that this is a cut above the rest, with a brilliant script, excellently paced plot and a radiant cast of characters. What struck me is in how the drama turned such common tropes into a story filled with one of the most organic and gratifying slow burn romances I have ever seen.At the start, we are filled in on the bloody history between the Wei clan and the Qiao clan. With the current Lord of Wei so powerful, the Qiao clan patriarch wants to make amends and a marriage alliance is formed. And so this is the premise into which our heroine Qiao Man aka Manman ends up finding herself in as, though not initially intended, she ends up marrying Wei Shao to complete the marriage alliance.
I just love stories like this where two strangers meet and there is instant attraction but also animosity. It creates this tension that draws you right in. And these two are so compelling in that respect. Their first meeting is so simple yet so magical. I loved it so much. Wei Shao is formidable and upfront about how much he resents the Qiao clan. So for Manman, it's an uphill battle from the start. He's so guarded, assessing her every move. She's wary and definitely intimidated but always dignified.
I was very impressed with Manman's character and how she navigates this new and hostile place. Because of Wei Shao's inability to see Manman as a person separate and apart from the Qiao clan, any sign of external provocation or internal guilt compels him to lash out at her, leaving her in a precarious state. Though she's hurt and disappointed, it's rare that she reacts emotionally. Instead of crying in a corner, she's ruminating on what she can do to add value and help her husband while maintaining the relationship of the two families. It's so satisfying watching her school her opponents.
The initial tension is delicious and then it melts away into this awkward and often hilarious, sometimes swoony interactions. And to me that kind of reflects reality. Once you get to know a person and you realize they're not as bad, or as intimidating, it opens the door for a whole host of new feelings, especially when they show genuine care and thoughtfulness about the other person. And here, the supporting cast in the form of Manman's nanny and her two maids and Wei Shao's four generals and his advisor shine as well. They all seem like genuinely nice, caring people. It's also one of the things that really resonated with me about this drama. They spoke and act and felt like real people. The only drawback are the villains who are just bonkers, but thankfully, they do not make much lasting impact.
I really enjoyed all the interactions of the leads peppered throughout the drama. You get to witness this gradual shift in their relationship as they face one challenge after another, growing closer and closer and carries you all the way to the end in a way that leaves you satisfied to have witnessed such a beautiful love story.
I've been a fan of Liu Yu Ning since The Long Ballad, so I knew he would nail the cold hero role. Even so, I absolutely loved his portrayal of Wei Shao. His antagonistic look is like a work of art. What caught me by surprise is the marvelous performance of Song Zu Er as Manman. She demonstrates this duality as the adorable Manman with big adoring eyes and as the capable Lady Wei that has Wei Shao squirming. Both actors fill the screen beautifully. The lush scenery and costumes make the viewing experience even more resplendent. And the chemistry...wow. I would have been perfectly content with just watching them smile at each other all day. But we're rewarded with one of the most electrifying scenes I have ever witnessed in a drama that epitomizes their solid relationship. Their display of intimacy of a happily married couple is done so well that it will be hard to top going forward. And my admiration for the drama have only grown that I know it will be a while before I can move on from here.
