Trash, but good trash

This is such a fun ride, not much substance and to be honest quite predictable but oh so much fun as this low quality cinderella meets marry my dead husband and just takes us on a short ride of evil mothers a show of just how little orphans are worth ans a bunch of other stuff.

Our male lead is so in love, he will do anything for the female lead yet manages to stay cool while doing it.

The female lead starts off as pathetic as it gets but has this bag of development and while one may think a sudden change would bring a bunch of second hand embarrassment they actually seem to stay clear of it.

The women in this are the bomb, either as evil as evil gets or fun as fun gets all strong characters and 0 middle ground...

It is the kind of drama that you watch knowing it is trash, but couldn´t care less about it being trash as it is the really good type of trash.

Extremely Satisfying

BL Dramas often have rather anti-climatic endings, presumably to force a sequel. This anthology brings a much more satisfying pause point (I won't say ending) to two of my favorite dramas: "'Cause You're My Boy" and "SOTUS." I'm only going to speak to these two shows.

Mork and Tee are back in Episode 3 for their third anniversary. The storyline about misconceptions is very cute. Drake Sattabut tops his previously excellent performance as Mork, who has now cast off any doubts about his love for Tee. Frank Thanatsaran still struggles to sell his Tee character as being Mork's soulmate. He's tightlipped in the kissing scenes. Plot-wise, credibility is a bit strained to believe that two adult guys who love each other this much are still living separately after 3 years, just to please Tee's mother.

Episode 5 reunites Arthit and Kongpob from the original SOTUS, which took way too long to get these two characters to the holding hands and kissing stage, where the drama abruptly ends. Finally, the audience gets to see the ending we had waited for. While Arhrit is still shy about public displays of affection, Krist Perawat dials up his performance to Oscar-winning status with a heartbreaking breakup scene. Finally we get to see Arthit's unmasked feelings for Kongpob. Singto Prachaya gives an equally satisfying performance as Kongpob, who remains stoic and strong to support Arthit in the breakup scene, only to let go of his emotions in the next scene. And the big payoff is Arthit overcoming his public display of affection hang-up in the final scene. This is excellent writing and direction. No doubt Singto and Krist's real life, off-screen bromance helped to bring a whole new level of life to these characters. I could see a spin-off series about Arthit and Kongpob living in China for two years.

The shows are more-or-less stand alone, so if you haven't yet met a set of characters in the original series, you can just watch the episodes where the familiar ones appear.

What can I say? I'm partial for super hot/cute guys fighting because of friendship and family.

This movie is literally made for all the Exile fans out there and who just love seeing all of their favorite actors in one film. The number of famous faces in this film is just countless. In a plus fact all the songs in the movie are pretty good too. I'm guessing Exile has some contract with Afrojack going on cuz I keep seeing them collaborate many times. Other than that I've got to say I'm becoming a little bit too over the whole we are not friends but in the end when one is being attacked Sword is gonna get together scenario. At first it was nice to see it but now it's becoming overrated. Get over your head people, you'll love each other and can't pretty much live without each other. Now hold hands and walk off to the sunset.
I wish I could see more of Nobaru though. My only real complaint.
My favorite scene, at the end when the Kuryu group leader comes and calls everyone kids while sucking on a freaking Popsicle. Yes very mature of you sir XD

The worst female lead EVER

To be honest, Dingding don't deserves a man so good as Dr. Ning. He always put she on the #1 place in her life, but she cares with everyone most that him. Who kind of woman in love will let the boyfriend stay alone for 1 year in the other side of the world, 'cause have to take care of her ex-boyfriend??? Man, that's ridiculous! And the fact that Dr. Ning have to fight for the relationship until the end, when Dingding NEVER done anything to apologize (when she was the only wrong) or to deserve the fight, just make me real dissapointed and revolted.
I'm so mad with that end, it's make all the drama a big trash for me.

u guys seriously need to watch this

I would say the acting for the main character shi guang is pretty good.

I barely write review unless the shows are good, looking at the length of the review, this show is hella good. This show have no romance, no action, just about shi guang journey in go. I think i enjoyed it because of shi guang acting and the good story line .

This story is basically about how shi guang become good in the game of go, his journey of success. This show is quite touching the on episode 32 and 33, i rarely cry when i watch a show, but this show was so sad that i couldn’t stop crying hahaha.

So the story is about shi guang meeting this “ghost” a good one where the ghost called chu ying is a master a the game of go. So when shi guang was a kid, he touch the go board that belong to chu ying, and hence chu ying appeared. At that time, shi guang didn’t know anything about the game of go, however all chu ying wanted was to play the game of go so they participated competition together which made chu ying very happy. However after the competition ended, shi guang kinda got angry cause him and chu ying made an agreement which chu ying broke. Shi guang was very angry and shouted and chu ying to stop appearing infront. From then, chu ying disappeared for 6 years , till shi guang was in high school.

When he was at high school, because his friend was being bullied and the bully when to fight shi guang against the game of go, shi guang have no choice but to relearn. However he wasn’t able to relearn go to be able to win since he didn’t pay attention when chu ying was playing on behalf of him 6 years ago. So when shi guang was about to lose, chu ying suddenly appeared and told shi guang a move to win. Shi guang won the match and chu ying appeared after that. So the story goes on on how shi guang try to be a competitive go player, how chu ying help him. They were really close.

Then after shi guang became a competive player, he decided to help chu ying complete his wish, to find the 神之一手. Chu ying played a match against the best player of go, trying to find the 神之一手. He couldn’t find it during the match, however after the match , shi guang suddenly thought of a move that could make chu ying lose the entire match, he won the match btw. Chu ying then knew he found the 神之一手 Once he found it, his body started to get weaker and weaker.

He started to like fade but shi guang did not realize, He tried to teach shi guang more stuff about go but shi guang didn’t care. He lied to shi guang about his bday so that they can spend more time together, however after that day, chu ying left. shi guang was then very sad and tried ways to find chu ying. i cried here HAHAH.

Watch the rest of the show to know if he found it 😉.
It’s a damn good show i promises

Love this drama, and the acting was fantastic. It is funny, edgy, and tear-jerky.

Destined with You is a funny and enjoyable Kdrama. I normally don't watch too much Kdrama because I don't like to read subtitles, but this one is quite funny, and I like Rowoon the actor. I first like him in the King's Affection.

The Synopsis: Lee Hong Jo is the lowest-grade civil servant. She always does her best at work, even though she suffers from many civil complaints. In her personal life, she is used to being alone. One day, she becomes the owner of an old wooden chest and the key to lift a curse from Jang Shin Yu.

Jang Shin Yu is a competent lawyer who is smart and good-looking. He is usually in the spotlight wherever he goes but suffers from an unexplained disease. His condition gets progressively worse. He is desperate to lift the curse that has run through his family for generations. A lawyer bound by a centuries-old curse becomes entangled with a civil servant who holds the key to his freedom — igniting an unexpected romance.

I love and enjoy this drama a lot, and Jo Bo Ah did a great job playing Lee Hong Jo, and her onscreen chemistry with Rowoon is also good. They did a phenomenal job, especially Rowoon. I gave it an 8.5 rating. Highly recommended, and the ending leaves a cliffhanger for possible season 2. The

I want my own Yang Hua!

She and Her Perfect Husband (2022)

First completed drama for 2023!

Likes
1. The relationship between Qin Shi and Yang Hua. I loved them so much. They may have started out with a fake relationship, but they supported and complemented each other that the age gap wasn't even an issue. Where can I find my own Yang Hua? He was almost perfect! Yang Mi was gorgeous and Xu Kai is too cute!! Need to look for more Xu Kai dramas 🥰
2. Every fake marriage trope needs to end before their real relationship begins. That's why I didn't mind that they broke up on eps 36-40. Qin Si mostly had the upperhand in the relationship, so it was just right that she should be the one who realizes what she lost. Although I liked that that they got back together, I wish it was Qin Shi who made the grand gesture to bring him back. And even at the end, they never said "i love you" to each otherand they didn't remarry. But that's alright. Just like what Yang Hua said, they dont need to get married, as long as they can be together forever and ever.
3. I thought Li Dai was going to be the b.tchy villain but I also liked her a lot! Wished that they just opened their own female lawyer studio. Their combo will be lethal!
4. I was expecting to hate Tao Junhui but I actually liked him too. It's just that he wasn't able to protect Qin Shi that time and now he missed his timing since Yang Hua is already in Qin Shi's life. I can't believe that he would like a spoiled and spiteful girl like Wu Fei, I thought he deserved better. But ending looks like Wu Fei also grew up a little and is now ready to be more mature and work earnestly and not just rely on her daddy's money.
5. Let's not forget Yang Hua's best friend who is funny and great help to the couple.
6. I loved the ost but couldn' find the songs on Spotify.

Dislikes
1. That it took too long for Qin Shi to resign from Cheng & Hui and realize how toxic their culture was. I almost thought she was going to accept the partner offer. I'm so happy she didn't!! Particularly Madam Tang who i always thought looked so fake.
2. The whole side story about The brother Wenyu and Meimei was boring so I skipped all those parts.
3. I wished they also showed how successful Yang Hua was to get back at all those who looked down on him for being jobless.

Rating: 8.5/10

I love this one, it had funny moments, tense moments, and sad moments.

Cat/Person/Cat/Person/Cat/Person and "desperately needing the loo" are probably my favourite two funny-scenes but there are numerous sprinkled throughout.

The whole premise is a bit silly, the idea that a human could consistently fool another human by pretending to be a robot, however they do kinda nod to that at the end when things come out so it works out in my view.

Put that to one side and you end up with a funny story of Chai Soo Bin's character needing to pretend to be a robot (which was modelled on her in the first place) when the robot stops working. All sorts of shenanigans as he "tests" her abilities and her and the team try to cope with everything happening.

The male lead has a nasty condition that means coming in to physical contact with another person brings him out in a horrific life threatening rash, he's basically allergic to people, leading a life as a recluse - which starts to hint as to why having this "robot" in the house with him begins to mean so much to him

But wait - it's not a robot, it's a person, doesn't that mean he's allergic to her too? Sorry you gotta watch it to understand that but it was a really nice element. Related to it, I particularly liked when he got the watch that told him of his "allergy levels" and you then could literally see how much he valued being around the "robot" - even if he doesn't understand it, we're all nodding and winking at the screen going "uh huh" :)

As you'd expect with deception storylines, it all comes to a head and I thought they handled this very well, along with how this then develops to the conclusion of the story.

Brilliant, my first drama with Chai Soo Bin (Where Stars land was my second :) ) and i'll be looking out for more, she has a unique voice and presence that I enjoy watching on screen.

A beast of a drama

This drama is a jack of all trade and a master of all it's all thanks to the writers/screen writers/director scenes are never boring or out of place there is a lot of wow/dramatic moments that would make you appreciate screen writing and when its funny its at home where it wants to be it mixes romance, comedy and sadness so well a moment you would be on your toes thinking what's gonna happen next the next moment your stomach muscles gonna be in so much pain from laugher it does everything it tries to do so well and it sprinkles the perfect choice of actors on top it's a fine meal.

A ML inside a FL gender switch idea was so weird for me specially when he was talking in a voice of a male inside of the female body the first few episodes were so confusing as he liked the romance part but he wouldn't admit it and would fight it off 24/7 at that point a figured maybe there won't be so much romance and would be just a comedy drama until he/she fill into the second vegetative state and finally started self talk in her female voice (a part of her came back ) and from there the romance got a lot better.

The characters are all so loveable

King Cheoljong a cute pure person with so much to prove yet controlled for most of his reign getting stomped to the ground every time he tries to prove himself.

Kim So Yong , Jang Bong Hwan both are so alike yet so different in situation solving both seem to be confident and upfront they are so smart and so loyal yet so shy when it comes to loved once.

Grand Queen Dowager Sunwon and Kim Jwa Geun are the perfect partners in crime a tactical mastermind whose power was his knowledge and an emotional grand queen whose power was her position a perfect chemistry to make great villains.

great writing, great characters, great actors makes a great show

THIS IS SUCH A GREAT SERIESSS!

BROOO!!! THIS S JUST SO PERFECTTT!!! idk why people gave this such a low ratinggg! maybe this series is just not their type but for me? this is literally what i am looking for in bl series. their acting? the ost? the story? the visual? (boy they're just so fit in each other) it's so perfect.. and anyway, if u don't want an age gap into relationship and excellent acting (also childhood friends to lover) this series is just not for u. please don't watch it if u don't want to but give it a try if you're interested. after episode by episode the story just makes sense. they're in arrange marriage so there's also a trust issue, secret feelings and doubt but dw they are all cleared out by the episodes and they also trust each other!! anyway, i stan them now as a couple (since they said that they're a couple) and also as an individual. they're also a great singer especially NuNew Chawarinn! i love his voice so muchhh!!! (make sure to check his MV's and Covers) special mention to their side coupless, omg i love NuerSyn bcs they're in a healthy relationship and came from enemies to loversss! then for YiDiao, they're really cute, they just have a secret feelings for each other but they are denying it until Yi can't and ofc Diao is so cute dksksk he's really innocent, i love him in this series, he's just so supportive to Kuea and so pure! this is funny too, lol dksksk and many people think this has no plot? bro? are u even reading the subtitle? they just really don't like cutie pie but keep watching it so they could give this a bad review lol. and also i think people who's watching are twisting their words so they could make think people it's weird? lmao anyway, good luck with this seriess!

Heartwarming, powerful, Ma Dong Seok brilliance again

So disclaimer here: I'm a massive Ma Dong Seok fan. I'm a sucker for him. His acting combines the best of tough big guys, justice-centered protectors, and vulnerable sweet teddy bears with tender hearts. Basically, he is what the characters he often plays (when he's the lead especially) are... perfect protagonists you REALLY root hard for. This role is no exception.

A Korean boy adopted to the US is bullied for being the only Asian and becomes stronger, tougher, etc to protect himself. He becomes a fantastic champion athlete only to be subjected to discrimination and accused falsely of fixing matches in his sport so someone else, some rich entitled prick with paler skin, will win. The setup isn't all that unusual, but you instantly like him and can see he's truly good though a bit hopeless about his future. Jobs working security aren't the best.

Then comes the friend, the one who's like his little brother, from many years back. The friend's dad is in severe debt after being cheated and the friend needs a lot of money pretty fast to get loan sharks away. Sports gambling is all he knows. At first the lead is not totally opposed to the quick money because he'd given up hopes of any championship statuses... the friend made a 'mistake,' though, if selfishness were his only goal: he gave the address of the athlete's mom to the athlete.

So here's where movies that set up quite similarly (seems the adoptee finding biological families story is pervasive in SK or maybe I've just had more exposure to them than normal) often fall apart. The family here has, of course, ADORABLE little kids, both of whom I'd seen elsewhere and really like, and when you pair Ma Dong Seok with such tiny bodies it's bound to be either super sweet or super corny. Whew, they kept it really touching, endearing, and just good. Nothing new at all, but it is a formula that really works, one MDS can really deliver in!

I rarely rate sports related shows and films very high; they aren't really my thing. Ma Dong Seok breaks the mold for me. Usually I feel no particular affection toward athlete narratives. I don't get emotional when my nation wins Olympic gold medals. I just feel neutral at best and mostly think pro sports are a bit annoying. Not here. Maybe because it's not the Olympics but a really quirky sport (arm wrestling) or maybe because they hit all the emotional points exactly right... it really works well. I could see myself rewatching it, too. Then again, I have The Devil/Cop/Gangster in my "rewatch-worthy" folder, too, so again... it's the power of Ma Dong Seok. Winnie the Pooh has nothing on him for winning me over like that tiny tiny girl calling him uncle!

FWIW, another show that on the athlete side felt similar (the love story of the drama wouldn't be possible to fit in this short time) is Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. This has no romance (but bromance is cute enough), but the athlete's story rings a similar tune.

I have one request

I won't talk much. I want a second season. We want a second season. Chaebaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal <3
School-based zombie story is amazing but the future of those students is not clear. So a second season is mandatory.
The ending was amazing and exciting at the same time, you can't leave us hanging like this.
There are many after stories that can feed a great epic second season and I will be the first to watch it. I finished the whole drama in one day and a few hours and I still wanna watch it again but I want a second season, please.

Beyond my expectations!!!!

The plot was good and the script was well-written. I can follow it easily, without any confusion. I like the characters ZhangPin and LanJue; all they care about is justice and getting answers to why their loved ones are dead. I like how they work together as a team to support each other to reach their end goal. The interactions between them were funny, happy, and sad---when they lost trust in each other and parted ways. However, they came back and understand each other more.

I also like the side characters, like Mowen and Chan Cho; who were the friends of the main leads. ^^

I was shocked that the villain is Shulin and finding out about his revenge plot. I was sad that Shulien got his revenge, but he lost his best friend, Lan Jue, and himself. In the end, he's all alone. I'm upset that the empress dowager never admits to her wrongdoings for mistreating her own blood. She's more like an evil stepmother that is hungry for fame and power.

I also love the bromance between Lan Jue and ZhangPing :)!!!! Their bromance was so cute and makes me fluffy lol.

Yes, the cinematography, pictures, and arts were all beautiful and amazing to see. Love the CGI effect as well.

Definitely recommend it and will always be one of my favorite bromances to watch :).

Light-hearted and Cute, but Unrealistic and Illogical

Completed - 2/18/2022 - 7.75 rating

If you are not watching this aired weekly, it's best to watch the movie version than the drama version. The story flows better and it's not as fragmented. This is a cute and light-hearted BL drama/movie, with decent chemistry and somewhat good-looking actors. Also, something is wrong with the synopsis here, "After a serious row, he is thrown out of the family home and is left with an emotional wound. " <--- I didn't see that happening!! Serious row? Thrown out??

What I enjoy:
1. I like the bus scene with their pinkies in the air. Really cute!
2. Cute interactions between the leads.
3. Great songs - Korean BL dramas never disappoint me with their songs.
4. Production value seems decent enough for a low-budget web drama.

What I don't enjoy (spoilers):
1. The acting of Won Hyung Hoon (Creditor) is not very good. I know his character is supposed to be quiet, but he comes off as bland and emotionless.
2. Unrealistic and illogical plot lines (stop reading if you don't want my cynicism to spoil your happy bubble):
= Will a debt collector really trust you enough to extend your loan payment for a month after a dance that's not even that good?
= The whole debt collector profession in this drama is unrealistic.
= If a debt collector moves in with you, you should kick him out immediately (DANGER!), no matter how nice he seems.
= Just because Shi On got the audition to play the lead role, doesn't mean he automatically has money. He actually has to work first to get paid. Why does it seem like the loan is totally forgiven all of a sudden?
= If they assume the loan is forgiven, then why did Hong Seok leave Shi On in the end? As Shi On said, the previous relationship ended and they can start anew. Why leave? I still don't get it.

Though it seems like I dislike this drama/movie, I did have an enjoyable time. I needed something light and short, and it suits my needs. I just can't give it a higher rating, as it doesn't seem fair to the other dramas that I rated a 8.0 and above.

Food and Bromance

First, the story is based on a real historical figure, Kim Yu, a Joseon-era scholar, who wrote a book called Suunbapjang, which holds a valuable place in history of Korean Gastronomy and was classified as a national treasure in 2021. The story takes place in an era where men, or atleast noblemen of high birth, didn't cook and kitchen duties were relegated to women and lowerclass men.

Kim Yu is the second son of an honourable scholar who, along with his elder son, was framed by a rival and dismissed from court and sent home in disgrace. Now, their only hope for the revival of family honour is thrice failed Kim Yu.

On route to exam centre, Kim Yu meets Gye Am, a travelling chef, who is self-proclaimed as the best chef in Joseon and after some petty squabbles, starts working as his assitant/sous chef, learning about food and gastronomy. The rest of the movie is pretty much Kim Yu's journey as he learns about food from Gye Am, while letting go of his duties and expectations as a "nobleman scholar" and following his own path.

SPOILER:

Towards the end, Kim Yu and Gye Am enter into a contest to become palace chefs, but Gye Am's injured arm causes him to sit back and KimYu pretty much shoulders the audition, with some help from his elder brother's hat (the best scene IMHO). Unfortunately, as a person of high birth, he can't work as a palace slave, so Gye Am alone gets the honour.

Kim Yu, meanwhile, opened his own restaurant which is open for people of all classes. He started writing his cookbook, Suunbapjang, which was eventually finished by his descendents. The book was eventually classified as natural treasure in 2021.

We DON'T KNOW whether Kim Yu and Gye Am ever met again.
