A story about life goes a long way
This is clearly not the best drama of 2018. It is the best drama of all time. Before delving any further, if you're wondering if there are spoilers in this review, rest assured there are none (or just a pinch of it at most).Story and General comments:
If you are looking for fantasy, this drama is not for you. If you are looking for a typical romance drama, slowly walk away now. The beauty of My Mister is in its simplicity. What I mean by simplicity is that it's not a typical k-drama involving a rich chaebol falling for a poor normal-life-living girl, or the male lead having super powers or some crazy disorder. It is just a story between one Ahjusshi, one girl and one (hella great) neighbourhood. If there's one spoiler-ish statement in this review, it'll be this one - Though as many of you may have read from comments and reviews, this story is not about romantic love between the two leads. That said, I have never personally felt more love between two characters in any other show (not limited to just k-drama) as I did in My Mister. That's the power of great story telling - the love between two people that transcends the conventional love and romance of what we know and have come to understand. And yet, there is so much more to the story; something you will have to experience for yourself as mere words are just inadequate and will not do the show any justice.
Acting:
Another concern that many viewers had before the show aired was about IU's acting. Though she has improved along the years, her acting is good at best with some occasional great moments. This has changed with My Mister. IU's acting was simply exceptional and her performance in My Mister is hands down the best out of all her dramas. And as for Lee Sun Kyun, must I say more? His acting is and has been exceptional and it is no different in My Mister. Poured his heart out for the role and the viewers felt every breath of it... literally.
Music / OSTs:
One big factor for me personally is the Music / OSTs of a k-drama. Yes a drama may be well written and well acted, but if the OST is not up-to-par, the drama will just end up being forgettable many years down the road. I kid you not, I was playing the OSTs on repeat the whole day for weeks and even up till today, I am still listening to it on a daily basis. It is just that good. Props to Sondia, Vincent Blue, O.When, Jung Seung Hwan and even IU (she wrote the song for JeHwi) for creating what has to be one of the most memorable OSTs of any k-drama.
Conclusion:
What more can we ask for? A story that shatters the proverbial glass ceiling of k-drama standards; acting performances that exceed all expectations; music that will stick with you on repeat for a very long time. My Mister is not just another k-drama but an important precedent for k-dramas as it is not afraid to revitalize the conventional formula and reinvent the storytelling wheel.
I would like to end this review with one word - Masterpiece.

If you enjoy Thai Lakorns (I love them), then please do watch this drama. While it might not be the best if you enjoy proper slap/kiss lakorns then this will fit the bill (except of course it's in Chinese). The drama was an absolute riot, from the crazy obssessed male lead to the innocent door mat of a heroine, to the crazy diabolical evil rival lady, let's not forget the dissaproving and equally diabolical mother (of the male lead). These are the ingredients for thai lakorn people! You either love it or you don't, no one can make you understand why it's so good. It's not an acquired taste, the love for this type of drama is ingrained in my blood. Your pile of poop is my bounty!

Honestly, what happened?
I want to start by saying - splitting it into 2 parts is dumb and I truly do not understand the logic behind it. I refuse to call it a season, because it is not - it’s the same story, same arc, same characters, direct continuation, no?The 6 episodes we’ve got were truly just an introduction to the characters and plot - nothing less, nothing more. And I don’t even think the introduction was that good for a lot of the elements.
Van has no personality and the only interesting and entertaining aspect of his character were the few reactions he gives when interacting with Mi Ho. That’s it. I love Kim Nam Gil, I do, but this role ain’t it.
Mi Ho is fine and I love her chemistry with other characters. The issue was - for a fantasy driven action flick, they wasted too much time telling us who she is in the present time. We don’t care. I couldn't care less about her struggle for power in her father’s company and the nasty aunt. I did not need a lengthy set up on why she had to go to Jeju. Only 6 episodes - time is precious, why are we wasting it? Also, this is a side rant, but every time the magic happened and Da Hee made the moaning sound I was like: girl, this ain’t the sound you should go for in this situation…
Surprisingly, the character I was the least excited about ended up the most fun and entertaining. Kang Chan Hyuk aka Father Johan. Eun Woo should take more roles like that, fitting his personality. Yes, the more "emotional" scenes were often lacking, but overall this is a lot better than many of his previous performances.
The cold emotionless lead is just not his thing. I liked how Father Johan was honestly a rookie compared to the forces he had to go against and he was too confident for his own good. I especially loved him testing Van and how far he can push before Van starts punching back.
Eun Woo as a cheeky priest was to die for. The child became a man. Man of faith and man of kinks for many viewers.
Production was painfully questionable in the CGI department. Just the manifestation of the power/energy was great. The barrier set by “the villain” looked amazing. But then, the design of the possessed was laughable, the execution was wanky. I liked the tree spirit monster, but that’s it. The worst of it all? The CGI models for the actors when they were doing the crazy fighting scenes - the movements were just bad. Then we also have the awkward scenes where the use of harness and lines could not be more obvious. I don’t think they practiced enough…
Overall, a mess. As much as I had fun watching it and joking about it with other users on feeds, the quality of the show itself is just bad. I’m so confused… What happened? I assume they had the budget, the cast was also good… So why was the end product just mediocre at best?

Petition to change the title to "Our Sunbae"
*Minor Spoilers Alert*What exactly went wrong with this drama?
Did the writer mix up the ML and SML scripts?
Did the director forget that the SML is not the ML and therefore shouldn’t be having half the romantic & swoonworthy moments with the FL?
Or did the production house get confused and promote the wrong man as the ML?
OHH OH OH WAIT, maybe they just wanted to make a clownery out of the viewers? Because that’s honestly what it looks like to me. But let me tell you some (or maybe more) things for sure so you can save your time.
This show actually follows its script for… what, maybe three episodes max? Yes. Three. After that, it completely forgets what it was supposed to be and turns into AGLTTNOCAFAYIBTEP (a goddamn love triangle that no one gives a fk about, yet somehow it becomes the entire plot). UGH.
Let me tell you the synopsis of THIS drama.
"After a tragic accident leaves their nephew Woo Joo orphaned, Hyun Jin and Tae Hyung are forced to raise him together despite their rocky first impression of each other. Thrown into the unfamiliar role of co-parents, they struggle to navigate childcare and their new responsibilities. Tae Hyeong, a photographer who prefers control and solitude, gradually begins to develop unexpected feelings for Hyun Jin. Meanwhile, Hyun Jin, still grieving her sister, focuses on raising U Ju as a way to honor her. As they spend more time together, their relationship slowly begins to change, though she hesitates to follow her heart"
Now like a teacher point by point I'm gonna correct the errors in this synopsis:
First of all, this show is supposed to be about the baby, right? The child whose parents tragically died in an accident?Because from what I watched, the plot barely revolves 10% around the baby and 90% around the SML and FL.
The term co-parent literally means: “to share the duties of bringing up a child.” Someone please explain where that sharing is happening here, because ONLY Tae Hyung is taking care of the baby.
“Hyun Jin focuses on raising Woo Joo” excuse me, where? Because from what the show actually portrays, she focuses more on the SML. Meanwhile, she signed up to take responsibility for a 1.5 year old child, yet 95% of the time the uncle is the one handling the baby.
I’m not saying she has to sacrifice her career for the kid. But if you’re incapable of handling a literal human being, maybe don’t step up to become his legal guardian in the first place. Handling a child is not a casual side quest.
Now this is like 10-15% of the drama. Do you wanna know what is the other 85-90%? A STUPID AND UNNECESSARY LOVE TRAINGLE.
I was hooked by the baby. I swear, how could anyone not be? He would be the apple of anyone’s eye. His crying scene made me terribly sad; I actually sobbed:( But as the show progressed, his screen time became almost negligible. I know we can’t expect a 1.5-year old to “act,” but at least the plot could have focused on his parenting and the struggles of balancing a career while raising him. Instead, that part is brushed off with minimal story, while most of the focus shifts to the FL’s love life. LAME.
This is peak catfishing!
The marketing? Misleading.
The drama? Pure Ragebait.
If the story had only focused on the Main Leads, I honestly wouldn’t have minded. But the SML feels completely unnecessary to the plot. He’s the one flirting and getting all those romantic scenes with the FL which, by the way, are the scenes the ML should be having with her. He barely has any relevance to the actual plot, yet somehow the entire story keeps revolving around him. I didn’t sign up to watch “Our Sunbae.”
Let’s go through the characters, even though the story mainly revolves around SML;
Tae Hyung, ML (namesake): He honestly has such a green-flag personality. Even though he never wanted to be involved with the baby at first, he slowly grew attached to him more than even the aunt did. What started as responsibility turned into a genuine connection.
I also love how he never forced his feelings onto the FL, yet he was always concerned about her wellbeing.
Hyun Jin, FL: Her being confused between the two isn’t really the issue. The problem is that she could easily turn one down while actively saying yes to go on dates with the other and yes, that’s very problematic. She also stepped up to become Woo Joo’s legal guardian, yet she’s barely taking care of him. It’s understandable that things are difficult, but if you’re not even financially stable or ready to handle a child, why take that responsibility in the first place?
Honestly, at one point I barely even saw any spark between her and the ML anymore. They should probably just co-parent the child, that’s it because he definitely deserves better.
And the actress’s facial expressions are so bland that I feel absolutely nothing watching her whether she’s supposed to be conflicted, upset, or concerned. I just kept wondering that she didn’t understand her character either, because she just looks confused the whole time… which honestly would explain a lot.
SML: Annoying, unnecessary, insufferable. I don’t exactly hate him, but he has zero relevance what the actual plot should have been and still ends up with the majority of the screen time.
Honestly, if you removed him from the show’s 12 hours, you’d probably be left with only about 5 hours of actual story.
After suffering from endless amnesia about what the drama was even about, the writer and director suddenly remembered it was supposed to be about the kid 🤣 so they crammed the entire story into the last two episodes. Rushed doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Don’t watch this for the romance, the love triangle drags on till almost the end and honestly there’s no point.
Because for enterity of this drama FL: sunbae sunbae SUN FKING BAE
out of nowhere: Hey I like you Tae Hyung
(AFTER GOING ON MULTIPLE DATES WITH SML)
But I would totally recommend watching the Woo Joo and Tae Hyeong scenes through reels, they’re adorable and genuinely funny.
The only reason I even started this show was because of the scene where Woo Joo cries after his parents’ death, which was an exceptional moment by the way. But apart from that the plot does absolutely nothing, like FOR REAL.
If you are still in the earlier episodes, just do yourself a favour.
I wouldn't say this was dud it had potential to greater than what was presented to the audience but yk some scripts should be kept hidden forever for the greater good of the audience and this is THE ONE.
Giving 3 stars only for Woo Joo and his Samacheon.
With Regards,
Biggest fan of Woo Joo & criticizer of this show

Not My Cup Of Tea, But I Got Why Some People Might Fall For It
I only picked up Dazzling because the watcher count on MDL was crazy, and the two leads are pretty famous. The setup seemed harmless enough — city girl Qing Ye (Guan Xiaotong) gets thrown into a small seaside town called Zha Zha Ting after her dad’s world collapses. There she runs into Xing Wu (Li Yunrui), a local boy carrying way too much on his shoulders, and slowly starts changing his life and the lives of the boys around him. On paper, it’s heartwarming. In reality, for me, it mostly just sat there.Early on, I already caught myself comparing it to Lighter and the Princess. Both dramas revolve around a girl who walks into a broken boy’s life and becomes a force of change. But where Lighter had actual intensity and forward momentum, Dazzling felt like it was spinning its wheels. The first few episodes set up the fish-out-of-water stuff — Qing Ye freaking out over public bathrooms, the noisy morning market, a cockroach sending her into orbit — and I’ll admit, that part was fun. Her “meet-disaster” with white-haired Xing Wu, whom she mistakes for some street thug, had a classic enemies-to-friends setup that could’ve worked. But then it just… stalled.
By the time her laptop gets stolen and retrieved, and some creepy neighbour breaks into the shower, the drama had already settled into a rinse-and-repeat loop: problem pops up, Xing Wu fixes it. Laptop, internet outage, harassment, bullying. Every episode, it’s something new that gets resolved almost immediately, and while it keeps reinforcing that Xing Wu is her protector, it barely moves their emotional connection forward. Honestly, you could condense half the 30 episodes and lose nothing important about their relationship.
And that’s my biggest issue: the chemistry never clicked for me. Guan Xiaotong gives Qing Ye a prickly vulnerability that I actually liked, and Li Yunrui’s Xing Wu is quietly magnetic — the weight of family debt and his crushed dream of becoming a pilot sits on him in a way that feels real. There are even a few subtly beautiful moments: him secretly building her a wardrobe because she complained in her sleep, or choosing to film her in the lavender fields instead of taking a photo so he could “freeze her voice and smile forever,” or the way he panics and grabs her when he thinks she’s disappeared. Those moments hint at something deeper.
But the script never lets those sparks catch. Every time a real connection starts to simmer — like when she asks if she can still come back for New Year’s after university — the drama undercuts it with some outside misunderstanding (Shu Han the “childhood fiancée,” seriously?) or jumps into heavy-handed angst (Xing Wu pulling away after Cao Ping reappears). The romance ends up feeling told to me through grand protective gestures rather than something I could actually feel growing between them. In Lighter, the intensity built and crackled. Here, it stays platonic and safe, mistaking cohabitation and shared chores for genuine romantic growth.
Where the drama actually dazzled for me wasn’t the love story — it was the family. Li Lanfang, Qing Ye’s chaotic aunt, stole a lot of scenes. She starts off shallow, obsessed with the “5000 yuan living fee,” glued to her mahjong table, drowning in debt. But she slowly turns into this resilient, messy, deeply human matriarch. Watching her kneel to beg forgiveness for a botched eyebrow tattoo, then later reinvent herself as a street barber doing “quick cuts” in the park — that arc landed. The moment she finally announces all her debts are paid, handing money back to her loyal girlfriends over cherries, felt genuinely earned. I actually felt something there.
Grandma was a quiet warmth, and the red-haired friends brought a chaotic, obnoxious, yet loyal energy that I didn’t hate. Even minor characters like the teacher Zhu Feng, driving a taxi after his divorce, added texture. When the New Year’s Eve fire destroys their home, and neighbors show up with dumplings and friends photocopy burnt textbooks, the drama finally says something real: home isn’t the building, it’s the people. In those pockets, the meandering, lazy pace actually works. You get to soak in the noisy, messy texture of daily life that Qing Ye falls in love with, and I understood why she’d want to stay.
But then the plot has to do plot things, and it fumbles. The drama keeps throwing new antagonists at us to create tension, and they all fizzle out. Cao Ping, the ex-con brother of Qing Ye’s school rival, is the best example. He shows up late with this brooding menace, motivated by his sister’s perceived slights, and the whole thing is dragged out through Xing Wu’s mysterious withdrawal and some physical fights. Then it wraps up in a blink — tearful stand-down, police sirens, done. All that buildup for nothing. Same with the earlier creepy neighbour and the jealous school bullies. As soon as they appear, they’re dealt with, leaving the drama with a stop-start rhythm that never lets tension truly build.
Because of that, the ending doesn’t hit like a culmination. It just feels like a script obligation. Qing Ye’s father arrives out of nowhere to take her back to Beijing and warns Xing Wu to stay away — it’s the exact beat you’d expect from episode one. It reframes her entire time in Zha Zha Ting as a long, pretty interlude. And while finally in the drama it shows they reunite years later, I was left feeling as if I’d watched a beautiful diorama rather than a living, breathing story.
So here’s the thing. Dazzling is a drama that can’t quite decide what it wants to be. It sells itself as a bright, transformative teen romance but delivers a slow, often repetitive family melodrama instead. For someone like me, who already finds teenage romance a bit nauseating and has zero patience for lazy plotting, it was a real test of endurance — thirty episodes that could’ve been sixteen emotionally tight ones. But I can’t say it’s completely empty. The performances are warm, the seaside setting is gorgeous, and watching a family claw their way out of debt one haircut or repaired laptop at a time has a grounded, almost neorealist charm you rarely see in idol dramas. Every now and then, it really does dazzle — not with romantic fireworks, but with the quiet glow of people just trying to piece their lives back together.
If you love slow-burn family stories tucked inside a youth drama package, this might be a comforting watch. But if you came here for a sweeping, intense romance like I did, you’ll probably leave feeling like the story never truly left the shore.

too slow but with some good NSFW scenes, start at episode 6 or 8
Overall: I initially dropped this after 3 episodes but sped thru the rest and my advice is to watch ep 1 around 12 minutes and then skip to episode 6 (and watch on a faster speed). 10 episodes about 1hr each. Aired on iQIYI. Re-aired on 9NAA YouTube channel. 9NAA also produced Check Out and I Am Your King series.Content Warnings: manhandling, harassment, kick
What I Liked
- established couples
- NSFW was well done
- sibling relationship
- the title was hilarious
- production value (which makes sense because there was a lot of product placement)
Room For Improvement
- as a viewer I need to want the two leads to be together in a romance series, however, I didn't want these leads to be together, I didn't understand what changed Sky's mind and I think Venus was too harsh towards Sky for way too long, they could have had a five minute conversation but the viewer had to slog thru hours and hours of nothing to get to a mutual understanding
- most of the scenes could have been cut or shortened, watched it on 3x speed, as an example you could start episode 9 after 12 minutes and miss absolutely nothing
- when the beginning scene took place was unclear for awhile, flashbacks/forwards without clear transitions
- who interrupts like that and then continues to have a conversation, get out of the room! (episode 1)

More Horror, Less Comedy, Good Lessons
Daebak Real Estate is the kind of rare Horror Kdrama which has more horror side to it unlike many other horror comedy Kdramas where even the ghosts are part of the comedy and the scenes are clearly over-edited. Some horror scenes in this were really scary. In fact, every horror scene felt intense.About half of the story is about the basic steady plot that's going on smoothly & slowly, gradually involving more characters, one by one along with many connecting plots which are more or less related to the central story.
The story involves 4 major characters: Hong Ji Ah (Jang Na Ra), a skilled and stupendous exorcist, continuing her family business of exorcism through a real estate agency, Daebak Realty. Oh In Bum (Jung Yong Hwa), a conman disguised as exorcist who later turns into a psychic to help Hong Ji Ah. Together they discover the past about their families, that they had forgotten in the course a tragic incident. Joo Hwa Jung (Kang Mal Gum), the real estate agent at Daebak Realty. Heo Ji Chul (Kang Hong Suk), Oh In Bum's partner-in-conning who also joins Daebak Realty as a Chief.
The storyline is a good one and the direction is well-organised. One or two episodes felt a bit slow as they were just busy investing stuffs but manageable. Have some tissue paper by your side as at many instances, it will be too overwhelming because there are lots of crying scenes. Also, watch it with a minor TW because there are some triggering scenes which are obvious for a horror drama. Every character did their acting well, especially Jang Na Ra again proved her skills.
Romance part of the leads in the drama is almost zero yet some conversations seemed like flirting but who is complaining about that? Not me! Hong Ji Ah's character is cold yet very very strong but she's soft from inside too. She'll make you cry more than anything else. I can't just see NaRa noona crying. Also, my Yong crying few times made it worse for me TT.
Another thing to point out is cinematography. In most of the cases, the horror dramas hugely rely on VFX and editing even for the horror scenes to look scary but in this drama, they used cinematography to keep the atmosphere simple and look natural and at the same time give off the horror vibes.
OSTs of this drama aee good too yet it felt under-utilized a bit but I think that's fine because their intention was to keep it intense. The bg themes are thrilling and melancholic I must say. And Jung Yong Hwa's OST is definitely a catchy one.
Note: If you're expecting anything very extraordinary, you've come to the wrong place; but it's not bad at all. It's worth giving a watch because the story is definitely a good one :)

Hwang-Tae yong's father
The beginning of the series was well done, yes it was perfect, but after the series came to the middle parts, it started to be processed slowly. I'm still watching because I'm curious about the ending. Although it attracted a lot of attention at first, the audience dropped as the series progressed.hwang tae young i guessed his dad was already using the golden spoon
Also, right after Hwang-Tae yong's father started eating with Lee Seung-cheon's golden spoon, I noticed how Hwang-Tae Young's father was watching the spoon, obviously his father had a different attitude towards the poor and despised the poor. I hope the series ends well.
yes, it's over, it wasn't a very satisfying ending, frankly, this shouldn't have been the end, but the ending isn't too bad, yes, we've come to the end of another series.

Cinematographically perfect but story...
I have serious disappointments with this drama. Cinematographically perfect. The soundtrack is wonderful. The acting is so awesome. The outfits are great. But i think there is a problem with the progression and finale of the story. The script could have been written better.First it was extremely stagnant until almost episode 15. So I think it should have been at most 16 episodes. Also, it was unnecessary for all men to fall in love with just one woman. Hina was a lonely and powerful character who deserved to be loved. She was more patriotic and brave than Ae-shin. There was incredible chemistry between him and Dong-mae. You can feel that sexual attraction even when they're just side by side. What a pity! I am most sorry that such fates were written on them. Moreover, this screenwriter wrote the second couples very well in his other dramas. E.g. descendants of the sun, goblin, hwi-seong was my favorite character in the drama. cute but lonely character who is happy with simple things. his way of death was ridiculous. He had to survive and support the struggle with his writings. What a pity! There was no chemistry between the main couple. I couldn't feel this throughout the drama. all I saw was the extreme age difference between them. moreover, the way the man died was very dramatized. it didn't affect me at all. Also Ae-shin's character was contradictory. For her, love was more important. It went beyond the patriotic woman image that was featured in the first episodes. I could not understand what she wanted to do. She couldn't make me feel her patriotism.

slice of life done well
Overall: this is a slice of life series set in 2005/6 and follows the characters from age 16-18. The writer is the same writer as Addicted (and the book it's based on). The plot/characters are extremely similar but I'm going to rate this on its own and not as compare/contrast. 24 episodes 30 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala & Viki.BL, Censored BL or Bromance? the answer becomes more and more apparent as the series goes on, I really hope that "lip balm" was brand new lmao
Content Warnings: past murder, attempted murder, attempted rape, sexual assault, torture, mutual bullying/pranks, violence/fights/beaten up/punches, blood, manipulation, intimate partner violence, side couple under 18 and over 18, non con picture taking/posting/cyberbullying
What I Liked
- clear characters/motivations (and showed realistically why characters' feelings towards one another changed, showed why the cousin made the decision that he did)
- showed why Wu Bi was immediately interested
- Wu Bi was impulsive/hot tempered but he did apologize for his actions (later in the series he says that he acts tough but is soft hearted which is true)
- sweet moments
- some funny moments
- happy Wu Bi did that to his uncle
- episode 3 fight scene was not realistic but it was super fun
- Wu Bi and Su Yu clearly communicated at the end of episode 4 and several times during the series
- production value (some really beautiful use of light and reflections)
Room For Improvement
- should have taken out that whole bizarre doctor playing/injuring thing with the kids in episode 4
- nonsense things: could have given the thugs a reason to target Su Yu (like his dad owed them money), also no one called the police with a group of thugs running with weapons in broad daylight? the guards just walked behind Wu Bi, how did Wu Bi know it was that 1 guard out of all the guards
- I disagree with Su Yu's dad, not all parents love their children and even when they love them, if they are awful people then the children do not owe them love in return
- the dubbing, especially with that Taiwanese character
- not a fan of the song with the little girl singing
- the series covers 2 years and it felt a bit choppy at times/more like vignettes
- the green screen at the beach
- although I understand the ending is true to the book, a second season is definitely not guaranteed and that's not a good way to end a series (maybe they could have made a short special episode in case season 2 didn't get made or something)

I actually didn't know I'd like the cast as much as I did. Shinohara Ryoko did such a great job in portraying her character. I wasn't really all too thrilled with the portrayal of Sakura in the beginning, but her funny, loyal, over-the-top self managed to grow in me really fast.. Which applies for the rest of the cast as well.
As for the music, there was nothing that stuck out to me. Everything was very fitting for this drama, but nothing too extraordinary to mention. Overall, I enjoyed watching this a lot. This kind of drama goes to prove that you don't need the young, popular idols in order to make a good drama. The type of friendship and romance this drama portrayed was enough for me to stick around all 11 episodes. It'll make you laugh, possibly even cry depending on which guy you root for, and will show you the value of friendship and real every day situations. I would definitely watch this again, one of the best J-Dramas I've seen this year.

So - if you start to watch this BEFORE there is a season 2, please be aware that this story is INCOMPLETE, it's not simply a case of "bad ending", it's unfinished. For me, that's entirely unacceptable and the main reason I quit watching western shows entirely.
Putting that to one side, I feel it's only fair to talk about the show that IS there as well.
The easiest analogy for this show in US shows is "24" - top grade action, lots of shoot outs, lots of explosions, lots of car chases, some amazing parkour along the roof tops and some great effects. I thought it was overall quite well executed and disagree with the comments that Suzy was poor - I thought she was spot on for the character she was playing (though perhaps she's portrayed as much more "bad ass" in the publicity, in the show she's much more of a rookie).
Lee Seung Gi plays a great role as the main character, the completely (and probably unreasonably :) ) unstoppable stuntman who can do just about anything - hey, this is meant to be sensational fiction so just kick back and enjoy it, it's great fun. He does a fantastic job.
Moon Jung Hee as the leading evil lady, Jessica, brilliant - her character drips with greed and nastiness perfectly and was fun to see her on-screen plotting counter-moves.
As with all these kinds of action shows, there are going to be plenty of times where you think "wait, wasn't he just stabbed in the leg and now he's running?" but shrug it off, if you want to look into things that closely you're probably not a fan of the genre anyway :) It's silly, it's fun and it's entertaining.
Production values are sky high, it's got a top top end movie feel to it all the way through.
The story does get a little bit tiring with the constant twists and turns but it all made sense as the story unfolds itself multiple times, it definitely keeps you on your toes.
In short, really enjoyed it right up until they left it without any ending, and there's no real hint that there's actually going to be a season 2 yet even. I *may* be a little grumpy about this.... but i've tried to separate my feelings on that topic from the rest of the show :)

Another Level of Romantic Comedy Drama
At first I watched this drama, I actually think it would be a cross-dressing drama when the male lead would hard to convince the female lead about his real gender HAHAHA. But silly me, I am expected this drama way too low than the actual story. I must say that the drama is EPIC, the plot, the acting, the soundtrack, especially the unexpected villain are all ON POINT. Never expect this much for romantic comedy drama (who turns out to be melo in the second half of the drama).I love how this drama put the right song in the right scene, and make you remember that scene a lot because it was totally beautiful (especially the rain scene, the swing, and the fight scene).
I feel like a butterfly fulling my stomach after I finished watching this drama, and I know I would miss Dong Joo - Nok Du couple much. The parents-children relationship also getting me in tears much, applause to Jang Dong Yoon who brings the sad scene greatly, because when he's in tears, I feel my tears suddenly flows too. Such a great actor! Kim So Hyun acting is unquestionable, because she's veteran anyway.
For me, I am positively would re-watch this drama, because the story is so interesting (and probably would be hard to move on like I did in 100 days my prince), and Jang Dong Yoon is so handsome and pretty at the same time, it's like one package of cinnamon roll he is.
They have great chemistry on or off screen (you should watch behind the scene by the way). You know, the drama is successful if we want them together in real life, it's just exactly what we want for JDY and KSH HAHAHAH
If you haven't watched the drama yet, I think you should give it a try. If you expect the light rom-com which we could expect where the story would leads us, then you won't have it in Tale of Nokdu. Because, as I said before, this drama is another level of romantic comedy drama (in general) and would make you goose-bumped in every episode.
P.S : you will love our beloved and sassy Lady Kim
