This show was everything I wanted and more!
Seriously, by far the best season of "Candle in the Tomb", which is kinda sad considering it's a barely related prequel.
At long last the cinematography was competent, the script somewhat tight and solid, things were set up and later paid off.
Only 21 episodes 30 minutes each made me sad at first, but actually I think it might've been a great thing for the show. Nothing dragged, the pace was good from start to finish.
The characters have clear motivations and feel like people for once. (vastly superior, as everything about the show btw, to the movie adaptation of the same story, which has awful cartoony caricatures)

Really really good

A definitely must watch!

I was never the type of cdrama fan who writes review after watchinh a series but here, I felt the need of voicing out my thoughts of this drama. You are my Hero changed me!

First of all, if you're hesitating of watching this series because youve read that this is a cdrama remake of DOTS (and maybe youll be somehow disappointed since it's remake), then you definitely have to watch it because THIS IS NOT A REMAKE. I can, and even the viewers of the both series, attest to that.

Second, I would like to recognize and congratulate the whole production team and the writer of the story. I really appreciated the drama, the cinematography, everything about YamH! Thank goodness they did not include "the leads broke up because of some sort of misunderstanding or because of love triangle. Yamh will make us realize what are the good elements of relationship which is the trust, communication, and understanding.

And of course, the casts! I certainly do not know what would be the series like if it wasnt because of the actors and actresses who portrayed the characters. Specially the leads, Bai Jingting and Ma Sichun! They did a great job portraying their characters that you can really feel what they feel in every scene they portray.

Overall, this is one of the top-tier modern cdrama that I've watched. This series contains and will make you learn how a person with a demanding job, just like Xing Kelei and Mi Ka, will always prioritize their job and the importance of it as they serve the subjects of their nation. That even though you're in a relationship, your partner is not entirely yours. Just like what Kelei said to Mi ka, "are you willing to accept me even though im not entirely yours?". And that's what makes them special. They are understanding with and trust each other. They dont quarrel whenever one is busy and cannot be with one another.

potrayed the most realistic and healthy relationship ever

in one word what makes this cdrama great and soo much better than other cdramas is that THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MAIN LEADS and the fact that how REALISTIC it is. the story itself isn’t much, simple plot. and some people find it boring because of the lack of drama . But to me thats a plus point, no unnecessary drama, conflict and misunderstanding between the characters. often times the relationships potrayed in shows are unrealistic, but the relationship between the main leads is realistic, they face general problems that all couples face but they both are supportive of each other and communicate their problems. and another thing is that GREEN FLAGS💚, and the romance was slowly built up, not in a rush, which will gove you butterflies. i rearly watch cdramas and I don’t really like cdramas because how long they are and how they drag the story too much, byt even tho hidden love has more episodes than a typical 16 episodes kdrama, i still enjoyed every pit of it. I also fell in love with the ost

A quick summary:
Mo Ning Xi's grandfather passed away and then she was kicked out of the house by her mother in law and went abroad. Six years later, she came back as a well-known fashion designer with her two kids to make things right.
She met her ex-husband again and the story goes on.

The cast is good looking, The ML is handsome and FL is also pretty but had an odd eye make-up that I couldn't get used to until the end.
The acting overall is okay and the leads have chemistry.
The ost is nice.

There is one thing bothered me while watching this drama! That it had so many slow scenes.
If you could turn a blind eye on that, and some incoherent dubbing, you might enjoy watching this drama more than I did.

Anyways ML carried the show for me. I don't dislike the FL but she didn't do much of anything by herself.

The story is quite predictable and has lots of cliche, So I think it's just an okay watch to pass time.
I might re-watch it in future.

Golden Journey...

Contrary to the summary that mistakenly reminds one of communist propaganda series, is a very light-hearted series about the life of train employees who live together in a small neighborhood and go through small and big adventures. From the meeting about the theft of Mr. Wu's chickens to solving the problem of buying eight Phoenix brand bicycles for Sai Xuan's wedding. We can see everyone and couples who get married in this neighborhood and their love story on television.

This series has romance. The romance of the series is not much, but it is very charming and beautiful; But the most important and main point was Wang Xin's relationship with Makoi. A special student teacher relationship. Like a real father and son who go through many adventures together and learn many things from each other. We see how this old teacher guides his student and how he cares for the small and big people around him in his own way. Like the blind old man who was looking for his daughter or the shepherd who always waited at the station for Makoi to send him something.

You are going to live with this neighborhood. This series has all kinds of things in it. It never stops surprising you. Of course, in his own way. It's like riding a train for several years and living with its employees. It's like a train journey of several hours that you get off at the end of time and say goodbye...

The osts of the series are wonderful... especially the retirement speech of Sai Schwan, which made me cry at the same time as that ost played...

A review I had to write. I just rewatched this. Please don't miss this gem.

It's a story of six friends...

And it is one of the best coming-of-age/slice-of-life dramas. Strong cast, a beautifully acted, down-to-earth script, with beautiful cinematography, and compelling stories. It is full of nostalgia demonstrating almost every kind of love(and betrayal) in one drama. Unrequited love, affectionate love, puppy love, playful love, love of self over others, love of others over self almost to a fault, enduring love, familial love, unconditional love.

Every character, even supporting characters, is rich in detail. It shows how there are natural cowards and natural-born heroes. Some naturally step back and those who naturally step forward. Many sides of each of the characters are revealed throughout the episodes, some staying at their core while others drastically change. The drama covers a long span of time. Faults that weren't there when they were young, come out or develop through the years. Like real life, all had some faults and all had good characteristics, both relatable. I couldn't hate any of the characters. Some had support and love in their youth while others were challenged early in life due to bad circumstances. Some were tempted by greed, while others fought and succumbed to their inferiority complexes. One of my favorite characters had serious faults but it was due to being so unlucky in his early life, but watching him try to survive and change his life around, grew into a strong character that I loved, rooted for, and hoped for. It's difficult to review a complex drama as this one so I will leave it at that.

One great thing about this drama is when something upsetting happens, it is resolved quickly and not dragged out throughout the episodes. It moves quickly through time and has lots of action that will keep you engaged from episode to episode. I also love that it is narrated.

This is a rom-com for more matured audience. It's still funny and romantic to catch audience attention, but at the same time realistic enough to believe. I like the journey the leads fall in love, like the fact that all characters have both good and bad sides, and like the fact that they develop to be better but don't change completely after falling in love (which sadly happens to too many good dramas!). Of course, it's still a drama, so some elements need to be exaggerated. But overall, this is a very well-balanced show. I particularly like the female lead charisma and confidence, especially the way she resolved tricky situations at work and personal life. She did some embarrassing things and faced the consequence confidently (though her inner side is screaming:)). Sometimes her life is a mess and instead of crying in the corner or waiting for her prince, she rises to power. This requires immerse mental strength. If you have been through similar situations you will appreciate how strong this woman is. The male lead is also charismatic and extremely supportive. He is definitely not a knight in a shining armor like in other dramas, but he proves himself to be the best suitor for her.

I very like this drama I have watched this drama 5 time because all the actors played their characters very well and made this drama more interesting I had lough and scream more because of hero and heroine. They very sweet couple. And the end of this story not dissapointed me although it very sad but I like it .it is not the same as happy ending that we thought different than the other. I like the hero character the most because his charming and cool make me admired him until now. I also know he is a singer since I had watching this drama and start to talk about him and other actors such melody tang the heroine. Hero and heroine good looking make me felt easy to watch.

Ghosted.

Breaking the Shadows (乌云之上) follows rookie cop Lin Jiajia (Ding Guansen) as he teams up with the hardened Han Qing (Sun Li) to solve a grisly dismemberment case. Their partnership starts icy——Han Qing remains haunted by the disappearance of her former partner Zhong Wei during a narcotics investigation, and she bristles at Jiajia’s presence as an unwelcome replacement. When clues emerge that Zhong Wei is still alive but has deliberately ghosted them, Han Qing starts to connect his disappearance with their current case. They discover potential links between the dismemberment case and Zhong Wei's drug case. She slowly warms to Jiajia after noticing his similarities with Zhong Wei in both methodology and temperament and she comes to respect his insights.

Where the series succeeds is in its performances, particularly Sun Li’s nuanced portrayal of Han Qing. She deftly captures the detective’s steely professionalism and the quiet desperation beneath it, making her eventual emotional unraveling one of the narrative’s few genuine highlights. The strong supporting cast, including Ding Guansen, Li Xiaoran and Luo Jin in a frustratingly limited role, also elevates the material with multi-faceted portrayals.

Unfortunately, the storytelling never matches the cast’s efforts. The plot unfolds in a linear fashion, leaning heavily on foreshadowing that robs the reveal of any real tension. While the mystery behind Zhong Wei’s disappearance provides some early intrigue, the resolution lands with predictable thud rather than a satisfying payoff.

Overall this drama is a passable time-filler for genre enthusiasts. Sun Li’s performance and a handful of gripping sequences keep it watchable, but its hardly essential viewing. A very average 7/10—engaging enough in the moment, but unlikely to linger in memory.

This was cute, refreshing but didn't turn out the way I expected it to. I would have personally liked to have seen a different outcome. It could be quite funny and I liked how the female character evolved even though I would have made different choices. It's good for a quick light watch. Also a good introduction to jdramas.

Underrated comedy show with social commentary

Alright I loved this show a lot. Basically a fun way to explore gender roles in society with some cute romance. Ever wondered how it would look like if the female leads scenes were given to the male lead? Now you can find out!!

- Story 7
The story is fairly basic and has been done before but I liked this versions execution a lot. Male lead gets into a parallel universe where its a matriarchy instead of a patriarchy. They do have some ''scientific'' explanation for it but the main goal of the show is just to explore the whole gender role topic. The male lead gets to explore the parallel world and encounters situations that are normally encountered by women. He can see both the positive and negative parts of it.

What I liked the most was that the show does remain hopeful about gender equality while also acknowledging that the situation isn't easily changed. It covers topics ranging from assault to workplace discrimination but somehow keeps things really lighthearted. You may realize or be reminded how much gender (and its expectations) affects individuals.

-Acting/Cast 9
The show is strongest in showing subtle differences in the approach that is made towards female and male characters as typically shown in dramas. Filming in such a way that reverses the usual techniques used to film the male and female lead in dramas. Focussing on the male leads reactions much more and allowing him a much wider range of emotions than most romance dramas would show. Meanwhile the female lead has the typical ''cold guy'' look a lot of male leads in dramas have. Also of course the typical female lead scenes where she gets rescued or is desperate to get the cool guy... They all fall onto the male lead to perform and he does it well.

Of course most of the cast will act very comically since its a comedy but they do it well and both the male lead and female lead are likeable characters despite both not being great people. The romance is actually pretty cute between the main leads although very different from usual dramas. With the male lead being the one that's expected to be more cute and the female lead being the one that's expected to act cool. Really great acting from both of them.

Special mention for that one male friend of the male lead who had super energetic acting. Loved the guy.

-Music 7.5
The opening song always made me think I started the episode with 2x speed. It's very quick but alright. The music used in the drama overall is usually fitting for the comedic tone.

-Rewatch value 8.5
Personally I can rewatch it because I genuinely loved some of the unexpected jokes or character quotes. The episodes are super short and easy to get through because of that. Also Jacky looks cool and the male lead is cute so another reason to check it out again.

Overall 8/10

okay so to be fair, there is a good chunk of reviews killing this, which are btw absolutely correct. but hear me out: this entire title is just pure comedy.

when i say this, i mean, i never laughed so hard in my life by the turns of events from this drama. like when they hypnotised the mc to forget about the girl. or when he needs to MARRY HER to donate his bone marrow to save her from leukemia EXCEPT it was made up!!

i will recommend this to anyway who wants a good'ol'laugh. sometimes i close my eyes and this drama comes to mind. the impact. always makes me laugh. maybe it should be considered a LAUGHING STOCK.

do not take is seriously tho, because if we deeply analyse this, it's bad. really bad.

The girls intro was a little otp

The way they cut the beginning was too cruel. The director leads you to believe that the fl was repeatedly raped (there was even a scene with a gang of boys surrounding her) since she was a kid. But once she arrives at her new school, people comment about how miraculous it was that she made it to 16 uncorrupted (aka a virgin). Her life was still a constant struggle tho, which made her want to do self harm.

The ml was aloof and full of angst about his position. His backstory gave him a nice wounded prince vibe. But the ways he ended up protecting his little bride was probably my favorite part of the movie.

The nonverbal scenes were visually striking. Manga like. The fight scenes actually werent that bad either. Have seen much worse. Two of the guardian demons were pretty cute too. The second movie in the series is about the guardian/doctor/school nurse.

The music was unremarkable. The acting was ok. The story itself had potential, but the execution was low budget. And even tho there wasnt a lot of romantic moments for the leads, at least they had a happy ending.
So in conclusion. I consider this a strange little story that some may find enjoyable(reminds me of a campy horror flick)but others may find disturbing or cheaply done.

This movie is a masterpiece. The story will make you feel up and down. You'll smile, laugh and feel heart warmed. But you'll also cry, feel angry and going to be upset. This movie will run trough so many emotions, and you are going to feel even tired after this movie, I did.

This story is truly amazing, and when you are watching this movie, you are going to be sucked in this movie. They really did an amazing job. The actors did a great job and they were so believe-able! The music also played a lot with your feelings, and they did a superb job on that one!

I would rewatch this movie only if I have too. Because I really cried my eyes out, but if you feel like a day of sobbing, you can rewatch this.

This movie is uplifting and down lifting and somehow at the end you'll find peace in this movie.
