Episode 4 is the charm

Some of the beginning was over the top and right when I was ready to move on this episode happened. This drama covers family court and it’s difficult because family relationships are messy and complicated. Judge Shen feels slighted because he was expecting a nice place in criminal court where his fast close cases would put him in high standing. Rather than that, he was stuck in family court because his mentors believed he needed to learn empathy. Lawyer Qin is stuck in a small and cheap law firm where she desperately wants to prove herself. She needs money for her Gma’s meds so she will take any case that comes her way and this doesn’t always put her in the best light. What won me over was how the drama includes their own family struggles and how that impacts their decisions at work. This adds a nice depth to the story that made me decide to stick around to see what happens.

ugh until this finally airs it's over…

ugh until this finally airs it's over so fast & then the wait begins - again.... oh well at least i enjoyed this ep - this was funny & fun... well until that sad ending but with the preview - the sad bits were blown away. **********************************************am really liking Daotok, his dry humor in contrast to Arthit's crabby personality is so much fun - & how Arthit dealt with the ex was funny, funnier was how the ex latched onto Arthit. but am glad that was solved, like am glad the whole mother/Emma situation was solved. even though guessing that she wasn't Arthit's biological mother. otherwise this really badly written. & not to forget we got a bit of North - which for me is the cherry on top.

like a lot of promise

okay so a lot has been rehashed from various season Ⅰ episodes but i had like zero issues with that. this show is a lot more competent than you’d expect & this continuation has like a lot of tact. i genuinely am enjoying this season a lot i think i might finish it extremely fast I’m having that much fun. i think yabuki is cool & he’s an actual delinquent this time not like sawada shin. these deuteragonists are really cooly cut ,i think having two is being handled fairly gracefully. that one delinquent in their circle does not stand out like whatsoever so i am wondering what his deal will be like.

i love how shameless Moo is & the fact…

i love how shameless Moo is & the fact he is thicker skinned means he keeps allowing Kang to be the b*tchy deva all the time. which is a plus cause if Moo wasn't Moo there wouldn't be a BL. cause Kang is a bit much & idk why he is fighting Moo at every turn. get the playing hard to get bit - but it's also annoying to watch. ***************************************************************i really was happy when i saw Aun, but i don't really like his character - the only reason Potae & Payos tried to befriend Moo was cause of his mother & what he could do for them, the sec he explained why he can't help they flipped in a blink & yet they acting like he was the one playing them - like talk hypocrisy. so i like the 2nd couple & i can't wait to see mutual feelings developing & not just the one sided crush we're seeing. but i need Potae to stop behaving like an ass-hat towards Moo.

Fireworks 🎆🎇🎆

YZ /CY/SY story conclusion is the one of the most satisfied scene of entire series. And our Marquis and General Fan fireworks dating era continued as confession of they are each other precious Jade. CY palace outfit and XZ bombastic side eyes are highlights of this episode. Yeah emperor continued to do his little scheme to our MC .And sigh, no more abuser OK. At this point I just ff their scene like I can't stand the character who constantly threaten to kill own child , let alone forcing a woman. Bot storywise, it's one of the motivation of XZ back up for Boaer as emperor .I think , if the last 5 episodes have the same energy as Ep 35, the drama deserves all. Tomorrow,we will have express package. Can't wait Can't wait 🥹🫠🫠

Five Stars

Pobmek and Solar are so much more than 2 dimensional characters. What they are going through especially Pobmek having to navigate this all alone without his sole anchor cripples my heart. Solar having to be told about this whole other character that he can never meet sure as heck seems scary. This episode showed so much humanity

Hard truths

YuCi manages to make it home after her beating. Ironically LiangLiang’s mom had a bday cake waiting for her. She sees YuCi hurt and YuCi begs her to not involve police. She calls Chen Mo who gets YuCi to the hospital. After being treated she runs into her dad in the hall. He has completely lost it and when he sees the mark on her arm he continues to warn her twin to be careful and hide from her sister. YuCi confronts them when she finds out she is the only one who had no clue. She cuts herself off from them and leaves. LiangLiang’s mom was in an adjacent hall and heard every word. She gets the rest of the story from Han CongFei. He had to live with the devastation he brought to YuCi with his quest to be a big shot reporter. I am truly loving the three friends in the hospital. They are good guardians for her even in their fractured states. The pretend wine was a sweet gesture, and I had a laugh out loud moment watching them ‘meditate’. 😂🤣 She mastered his Cryptex and that gave him the last letter from his son. It is hard to believe that sweet old man was a prior Jiang. Watching him laugh with his buddies about people jumping off buildings because of the stock crash was surreal. He treated his son like Rao did YuCi about needing help and he was like Mr Li finding that his wealth cost his child his life. He had to be tempered through that tragedy to become a human that cared about people over money. This is why he recognized the help YuCi needed and went all in to support her. LiangLiang’s mom was filled in on it all, backed up with pictures and documentation. She now sees how her daughter orchestrated all the bad happenings in YuCi’s life. She must now acknowledge that her part was taking her daughter from the rich ‘father’ and causing her to have such bitterness and ambition. One thing about LiangLiang’s mom, she is not a wilting violet. She took her daughter’s abuse because she felt it deserved for losing her and having no say in her first 6 years of life. However, we will now see what course she chooses knowing that her actions contributed greatly to this sequence of manipulated events. YuCi is at rock bottom now and mustering her last bit of courage to continue on her own. Ren and Yu now know YuCi won’t be back but no clue why not. LiangLiang is all happy to be back with her crazed smile and eyes and Gma Bai has now joined the ranks and she is just a cold hearted individual. She doesn’t give a damn about anybody, but she does have the clearest view of everything that has happened and most of the why’s. She puts things into better perspective than most of them. Knowing that, I still have to wonder why she tossed Jiang into the midst of things given his dynamic of using and abusing women. He doesn’t seem like a first choice for her. This episode filled in some blanks and left a lot more questions. YuCi has to stay solitary, but I sure wish she had a benefactor that could help her. She is in desperate need of assist. Here I am just so angry with Chen Mo. He knows what kind of person she is and has a pretty good idea of how she thinks and processes things, yet thought her left in the dark about her lost sister was in her best interest. That arrogance of thinking he knew best for her protection may have cost them both everything. With this I really wish YuCi had LiangLiang’s mother. Her mother does a lot of wringing her hands and accepting everything as beyond her control. She lets herself get led by others in just about everything. Other than truly loving her daughter, this story was very unkind about giving her any relevance at all. LiangLiang’s mother is quite capable and refuses to stay down even when life keeps throwing her curves. She has a quiet strength that takes life head on and keeps her kindness and humanity as her greatest features. She made a serious error when taking her daughter back the way she did because that event resulted in all these others. Now to see if they give her a bigger part in how things play out or keep her a spectator.

One Does Not Simply Survive That Side Eye

Episode 35 of Pursuit of Jade really said “have you missed chaos with a side of feelings?” because same, especially when Chang Ning finally popped up at the start like a long-lost cameo I didn’t know I desperately needed. But the real curveball here is Qi Min, who for once decided to unlock his “I am human” DLC. Yes, he kidnapped Qian Qian again (sir, please), but the way he scrambled to save her after she got accidentally stabbed, threatening every doctor in sight yet still honoring Qian Qian’s plea not to harm innocent lives… I had to pause and process. And when it looked like he went full villain with those “bodies” on the floor, only to reveal they were just drugged? The emotional whiplash was real. He even brought in her favorite maid. Like… hello? Sir, pick a lane. Psycho, but make it soft? Then we switch gears into comedy territory and wow, this episode really delivered. Song Yan showing up was already a treat, but his reaction to finding out Chang Yu is now the Flower-Pinned General, a whole fourth rank official, was pure comedy gold. Meanwhile, Chang Yu just sat there like a boss in her capital glow-up era, casually shutting him down without breaking a sweat. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Xie Zheng entered the scene like he owned the entire dynasty. That side eye towards Song Yan? Lethal. Song Yan fainting and silently crying as Xie Zheng walked off like nothing happened had me laughing way harder than I should admit. His expression alone deserves an award. The night scene with fireworks gave us a soft reset, and Xie Zheng calling Chang Yu “jade” finally connecting the “Yu” in her name made me internally scream in multiple languages. It was short, sweet, and dangerously romantic. But wait, the chaos resumes when the Emperor decides he wants Chang Yu as his Noble Consort. The way both Chang Yu and Xie Zheng reacted to that rumor? Absolutely priceless. Chang Yu swearing on her life that she already told the Emperor she’s married while Xie Zheng just stared at her like “explain yourself” was peak comedy. And her subtle but bold confrontation with the Emperor to retract the idea? Their bickering friendship continues to be one of my favorite dynamics, honestly. What really stood out to me is Xie Zheng’s calm confidence throughout all this. Song Yan reappears, the Emperor is making moves, and yet he stays unbothered. It’s giving trust, it’s giving secure king energy. He does get jealous, but only when it matters, and I love that balance in his character. The only tiny complaint I have is that we were robbed of his reaction to Chang Yu’s full-on capital lady transformation. This was her moment, elegant, feminine, and completely different from her usual vibe, and he just… acted like it was a regular Tuesday? Sir, I needed at least a double take. Overall, this episode was such a fun ride. Emotional, chaotic, hilarious, and sprinkled with just enough romance to keep my heart fed. I laughed a lot, I screamed a little, and now I am more than ready to sprint into the final five episodes like my life depends on it.

This Episode Made My Blood Boil

Rewatching episode 18 was honestly so heartbreaking.I get that they were following orders, but how can a group of strong men gang up on a helpless old woman? Don’t they have a mother or grandmother? How do you bring yourself to hurt and kill someone so innocent, someone who was just trying to protect her grandson? The village massacre was so painful to watch. My blood was boiling the entire time… and honestly, that’s what makes this drama so powerful and addictive.

Callback scenes

Yeah, I love the CY Capital entry scene so much cuz it's the perfect callback scene of YZ /butcher girl CY vs XZ/ Mighty General CY. The same thing is he has that mastermind BTS aura and CY has very sincere and fierce aura. As for storywise, this EP shows power , selfishness of two clans and Emperor .I somehow feel bad for him cuz he is also a child of abused but it doesn't mean you can be @ssholev to other ppl around you. Like yr suffering is not the reason to bully other ppl. At that point, current Emperor and Qi Min shared the same energy like they are acting like the whole world is wrongdoing them and acting like a crybaby.Meanwhile, our Marquis and General fan dating at the alley era continued. Yeah ,one sweet kiss is enough to forget all prior plots, I think it's the magic of POJ🫧🫠🫧.

That was a lot to unpack in the last episode. Not sure all the characters needed to be connected by the murder 23 years ago but here we are. I was an emotional wreck for Masaki.

Three Stars

Finally, the so called big reveal even though it's been quite obvious for a while. I was also wondering if Japan doesnt engage in tracking someone phone if they are missing. Makiko was "on the lam" with her son who by any police standard could be in danger but but Keisuke doesn't track her phone??
