the main thing i gotta say its thank f*ck…

the main thing i gotta say its thank f*ck this only got 8 eps, cause this had become moronic. even if Boss couldn't approach the Big-Boss cause of his lowly position, going to Thiu was stupid - wasn't Thiu the one that got beat on the way out of the organization?? wasn't he the one that was warned that once he left he could never come back?!?? so how come Thiu could do something Boss couldn't?!? & Thiu deciding to wait until the last moment instead of thinking of a way to give the Big-Boss a heads-up is stooopid. ****************************************************************************************************************but the most moronic part was Guy - he so worried about Thiu dude decided to crash a clash for power between mafiaso's?!? really??? what he think he gonna achieve? come between Thiu & a bullet? *********************************************************this might have had potential but it fizzed out pretty fast & it kinda got tedious. nothing also happened between Tul & boss, so this was kind of a let down - bummer

i get that the reason Thiu didn't kill…

i get that the reason Thiu didn't kill Kenji was cause that would allow him to go back to Guy. but given the reason Kenji gave him for holding a grudge, can't he see the dude is messed in the head?!? who said Thiu had an easy life? that Phaibul treated him with kid gloves?!? he rose to his position through hard work & a lot of suffering, but he wasn't throwing himself a pity part & he for sure didn't begrudge Kenji for rising to a position equal to his. in that world rank didn't just mean power, it also meant the money to get to keep. so leaving him alive was a whack choice as now he maybe targeting Phaibul, but the sec he is "taken care off" who will his next target be?!?? also Thiu really take Kenji's word that he would stop?? he that trust worthy? really??? again asking how did Thiu end up as the right hand man of the big-boss??? u need brains not muscles to reach that position let alone keep it. *************************************************************************************************************************i feel sorry for Whal - even though how he played Guy from the start maybe this is karma, yet i can't fault him if he was scared to face the fact he had fallen for another man & he wasn't ready to come out of the closet. so now that he was finally ready to face his feeling & was trying his best - i felt sad for him that he missed the boat. ***************************************************side note: watching Guy "kiss" is painful - i wish the director didn't give us freakin close-ups, so we could see that the dude is like a dead fish ugh

Roomie solidarity

Nora’s mom is truly a force to be reckoned with. She is currently pushing Nora into a relationship with Mr Shin. Ms Hong’s dept continues to be rather lackluster in developing anything not initiated by her. She wants the outstanding woman award from the bank and sees that candidates get slush fund deposits to their account. Queen B notices and plans to steal it when she sees one candidate died. She actually tried to warn Ms Hong to not take any money falling from the sky. She gets letters from her brother and panics. She sets a date for end of November to clear out before her brother is released from prison. Unfortunately big bro is released from prison early. Queen B’s bro is exactly like YiBo from twelve letters. 😡 iykyk🤬The girls rally around Queen B and promise to help shield her. What is very funny is Mr Shin getting their attacks directed at him. If he knew that coat got him in trouble, he’d never wear it again.😂🤣 Nora went out with him and still pepper sprayed him. Now Nora and mom thinks he likes her. This caused a very fun interaction in his office.🤣😂Shin wants to get Ms Hong out of the bank, but whether it’s for her safety or for him to cover his doings remains to be seen. Her date with Albert was delayed but they actually had it. When she cancels the movie date he is supposed to be at a family gathering. However Mr Shin shows up there and Albert shows up to the location Ms Hong is investigating. He is also quite chummy with gangster guy who transported the girl that ended up dead. They have hidden her murder by having it treated as a suicide. So who is Albert really? How much is he like gpa? Tbh this twist was unexpected. He seemed too lazy to be a bad guy. And there is the mysterious caller trying to rat out Ms Hong. Loving the rapport the roommates are developing but there is also a stronger undercurrent of bad things coming.

Cases closed and new beginnings

Like father like daughter—once that no sleeping pills in area seed was planted Sr Lee had his buddy help him find fingerprints from the scene to try different angle into determining culprit. We get to go back to the day and see what happened through elder brother’s eyes. He sees his mom trying to end it with sleeping pills and heads over to other brother’s home. He sees a very nice mom but also phone messages from his dad promising a divorce and marriage contradicting what Jin’s mom told him. Rather than picking up the phone and confronting his dad he opts for let’s kill her with sleeping pills and pose her like a suicide. In the present the brothers are duking it out and big brother admits everything…to the point he wished he’d killed little brother along with both parents. He got unexpected news that the dad was already aware and accepting of the situation. Lee is relieved her gun had no bullets and little brother informs big brother he wants him to live long with regret.😝 There is resolution for the mom but the time has expired for judgment. What this did result in was the harshest sentence they could give him for dad’s trial and his mom showed up in court to watch it happen. ISu was given the task of taking over the company, but he followed his father’s wish and put Mr Choi in charge. The board will have no complaints with this choice. Jin has a meal with Lee’s mom and he remembers what loving moms serve their kids for comfort food.🥰 Mr Lee apologizes for not investigating more thoroughly but ISu reminds him of the fatherly hug and kindness he gave at the time. Here I was hoping for another fatherly hug but that didn’t happen. I love the interaction between coroner and sidekick and I hope to see this continue in season 2. Right when the team decides it is time to clear Jin’s desk he shows up to start a new case. Everything is gearing for a season 2 and I am looking forward to it. I am disappointed that Lee’s character is being changed, but that really doesn’t deter me from wanting to see another season. I’m just hoping they find a way to keep her parents in the drama.

An annoying secondary character

This episode revolved around an annoying secondary character and I have no idea where it's going, but she's like nails on a chalkboard. It must be difficult to create and act a character that the viewers want to slap, but the actress playing the young, immature sister-in-law is doing a great job.

Every episode has been a 10 so far.

So far this show hasn't made a single misstep. The quality of the acting is top-notch. The story lines are unpredictable, with a few twists I didn't see coming. As we get to know the FL better, her character becomes more and more interesting. Not sure where her relationship with the ML is is headed but it's keeping me hooked. One of the best C-dramas I've ever seen.

Three Stars

This was an ok ep even if the series could have been done at the 11th ep. I did like that Se Na reopened her dad's trial and some sweet ending for the leads.

Pehomenal acting from a team of total professionals

Had me hooked from the start. The ML and FL are seasoned professionals and know how to bring their characters to life, even when those characters aren't totally likable yet. Great to see Lin Yushen back on the screen.

to me this BL has become rage bait & yet…

to me this BL has become rage bait & yet i wasn't that angry this ep - 1st of the shocker that Jimmy can be a good human-being when he wants too. him running off to help an ex, isn't anything to scoff at. plus he gave Run time to heal at his place & he wasn't creepy about it (given they were more friends with benefits then actual boyfriends), it's normal & very easy to "trip" into bed, with someone u had good sexual chemistry with - even if u hate their guts lol ************************************************2ndly Toh doesn't evoke my sympathetic side, every time he cried i rolled my eyes. cause the dude needs help not sympathy(!), from how Jimmy has treated him from the start, to assume he ever loved him, like what?!?? but this the same dude that convinced himself, that no matter why Jimmy too him to bed, he was gonna make Jimmy love him & the part that made me shudder, was when he told himself "...don't be petty & make him angry..." that's how abused women talk about their abusive husbands, this dude needs help, so he will stop seeking out abusive people to partner up with. ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************btw i love Run - from the start of this i loved his sassy ass & i loved how he gave as good as he got, when he was with Jimmy. the fact he tried to get back together with the moron, was cause he's in a vulnerable state & Jimmy offered a safe haven. & call me mean, but i kinda enjoy his mean girl act towards Toh. ******************************************************************************but we all know that if they did get back together, sooner or later they would break-up, cause Jimmy is a personality only a mother can love - well his mother & Toh the masochist *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************also, don't buy Jimmy suddenly actually caring for Toh, why him? he's been bed hopping for ages & the sec he gets his prey he moves on to the next conquest. but this time it's different - why? cause Toh was such a doormat?

Sons in mourning and investigation continues

It is believed Mr Jin committed suicide after talking with ISu. I guess I am relieved they didn’t think he murdered him. The death is flakey like his mother’s, but right now he is consumed by guilt. During mourning period, it is poignant the divide between support for the brothers. The eldest has his crazy ass mother show up, again loudly blaming ISu for everything. I despise her character and have no words strong enough for how I feel about her. The team showing up for support says it all. His hug from Choi was like a little brother grieving with him. Stepbrother stepped out to let them mourn privately. He goes home and finds his father’s keepsake box that had a picture of his mother, her necklace, and a promise on the back to be a good husband and father. ISu is struck that his father’s words of love and devotion were true. At the gravesite the vultures are swooping wanting the elder brother to take over the company. Lee is pondering the lack of sleeping pills for Jin’s mom and is off to investigate. She has confirmed that sleeping pills were not anywhere in the vicinity of the villa even is Mr Jin went there for the sole purpose to commit suicide. At the reading of the will ISu leaves and tells the brother to handle it however he wants. The lawyer and Choi both know elder Jin wanted to revise his will and didn’t get to. Lee mentions the lack of pills to her dad and then chats with Jin. She tells him what she’s discovered and the case is still being investigated. Choi is struggling to let the board know his decision of who to make chairman and is saved by a phone call. Another twist is that Mr Jin knew all along about his wife and son, he opted to change his at the discovery he had a real son. Choi tries to get proof of who left the mansion but the SD card is removed. Jin has memories restored and remembers stepmom at the house. The investigation is swirling with the clues of stepmom and son trying to determine which or if both guilty of murder. The murderers calling each other out? They question each other about the two different murders. It was a rather chilling conversation from the son. He learned to be exactly like mom but the w.0 version. He is calmer and stealthier combined with pure ambition. She should be grateful his first choice is to protect her. It segues to the conversation with elder Jin after ISu left. Mom already asked if he took her pills and once dad revealed he wouldn’t become head of company son left and pills added to drink. That was quite the dramatic pause at the end when elder brother sees younger brother at his award ceremony. The extra segment with the brother that never lied. Can’t wait to see how they wrapped this up.

Sins of the fathers

Jin was surprised to find his stepbrother involved. So originally it was not him trying to investigate his family via police. As the past crashed into the present, stepmom was also guilty of infidelity and was being blackmailed by her son’s father. In a twist of fate the true blood heir was the one always tagged illegitimate, while the son tagged legitimate was not the heir. As the story unfolds and Jin learns the truth of his stepbrother, he gives the paternity test to Lee and resigns. He then meets his father in some family cabin and demands the truth about his mother. He hid the pills as a child and they were for anxiety not sleeping. His dad is overwrought when he gets this news and is shown collapsed in a chair as Jin leaves. It is made to look like Jin killed his dad. Since he was still searching for the truth, it made no sense for him to do this in spite of how evidence points. His dad had relinquished his bid for mayor and discussed with Choi that eldest boy was not leader material for the company. The stepmother begged for her son but that wasn’t happening from Jin. It is to be determined how things will play out with the brothers, but their fathers caused a lot of grief, one by greed and one by manipulation. He was guilty of believing his wife and not questioning cause of death for his mistress. The stories of the woman he married and the woman he loved is coming to light. Even with another visit to psychiatrist, Jin cannot see who entered the house before his mom’s death. This drama does not fail with twists and unexpected turns that completely flip perception of what really happened, who did what , and when.
