Highly Recommend!

The premise is old school University BL. There are even Engneer / Doctor couples. But these romances are very mordern and the relationship pacing is perfect. The couples are having lots of emotional and physical development that feel genuine and is very enjoyable to watch. Yes there are some cliche tropes and serious red flag issues like rape, the intrusive mother trope, rejected females, violence and jealousy, but everyone has taken responsibility and apologized for their mistakes, forgiveness and reconciliation are always uplifting plot points and relationship arcs. There are lots of sweet, tender moments and spicy NC scenes. Who doesn't love good kissing? 🄰

Winds of change

Japan is dropping bombs on Shanghai and people are grabbing what they can and are leaving. The brother wants to carry the baby, but it’s most likely because that is where he stashed his cash.šŸ˜ The family flees and the brother is killed by bomb shrapnel. It is debatable if he was trying to save his son or his money, but the baby survived. Ao and YiSun are staying in Shanghai. He gives her his watch and you can see the dent on top that deflected the knife. I am glad they hugged and did not kiss. The close up earlier of failed kiss was a bad choice. The female lead is beautiful and acts well, but kissing with feeling is not her forte.šŸ˜ Their loving smile as they courageously meet their future was a nice closing to their arc. This was well done. Yi Sun is using the house Shen bought for her to protect her family. She is moving them to Chonqing and tells Yi to continue her studies. Shanghai eventually was victorious and Yi returned. But there was only a brief visit with Aunt before she and Cheng went abroad for business. There is a skip to 1993 and granddaughter wants the story of grandparents. Their story starts in 1955 with her mom remarrying and daughter taking his name changing from Lin to Yi. Considering her father…I am glad they had another option and hope wife had a happy ending. Yi marries ZhouYuan and her husband disappears. He is a KMT official that is MIA after leaving for a mission. He has been gone 5 yrs. Her husband’s position is what has her on the outs with the communist wave coming through. The hospital, now clothing factory, is where she works, lives and faithfully waits for husband’s return. She is the only one that thinks he is still alive. The new communist group wants to oust Yi from her home saying as a nationalist her contract is void. She refuses to leave because it is where her husband knows to find her. She wants to set up a meeting with minister Wen not knowing her friend has already made a bad impression with him. She heads to the federal building to argue her case and meets her sister in law. They have an argument over politics, but both agree on the bravery and integrity of her brother. She unfortunately meets with Yang who is adamantly anti- capitalist and had to be corrected by minister Wen. He is just as adamant and rude with Yi suggesting she moves northwest and acquaint herself with sheep and wool textiles. They assume she is wealthy and treat her disdainfully. What actually annoys me the most is the chief’s wife. She has that fake condescendingly kind act with both Yi and Wen. She is like Si Yun’s mom with son. Yang saved her husband in the war so he can do no wrong. Wen tries to tell her politely he’s an ass not cut out for dealing with the people. He would be better with the blue collar issues than white collar. But her syrupy ā€˜he is doing just fine and will only improve’ speech goes over with Wen as well as it did with me.šŸ˜Yi boldly went to Minister Wen’s office and caught his attention with her boldness, sincerity and art. She underestimated him at that meeting. Minister Wen received two apologies that day, but only the one from Yi was sincere. Yang is the guard dog for the heads of the party. They know exactly what he is and choose it.šŸ˜Minister Wen is equally forward finding Yi. He admires her art and equates it with the correct painter’s styles. He now knows that her husband liked Russian art and music. The Rachmaninoff piece was quite nice in the background. His music can be quite turbulent and fits well with the discord going on now. The rude woman that kicked her out wanted to act like the party would be so willing to assist her if she asks. Like all political groups, help comes with strings attached. I like how Yi coolly thanked her and went on with her business paying her no real attention. Minister Wen assured Yi that her case would be settled soon. I like that he is taking an interest in her situation. He is more moderate in his thinking. This story is told well with good pacing. I find the second arc as interesting as the first with an entirely different group of actors now. Well done.

White Angels vs Black Angels

Guest member was Sun Li, Deng Chao's wife. I didn't know that they were married, I searched about it when the fans shouted "kiss her". The games were fun like the Gymnastics activity was hilarious like how Deng Chao passed the first round in one go and they even completed all rounds while Chen He was stuck with the first round. In the second round too, the opposing team tried hard but still failed in the first activity they just vibed and they were all fit for the task, like Deng Chao, Baby, Lu han, Zheng Kai, they effortlessly completed their task in respective rounds. The second activity was smiling challenge, testing one's acting skills, Sun Li controlled herself pretty well. Deng Chao did good too. For others I can't say much, since I won't be able to hold myself either if people were staring at me like that and trying to make me laugh. The third activity was interesting, the black Angels had a secret task of completing a puzzle, Lu Han was out at the beginning of the game, by Sun Li, naive, he was careless, but his teammate revived him and I was happy that he atleast tore off Zulan's, Baby's and Li Chen's name tag kinda revenge haha *evil. Even though the white Angels won, the best moment for me was the married couple fighting one on one, Kai was so awkward like "I'm not interfering in couple matters" while Li Chen was laughing at his friend 🤣. That was the highlight🤣.

So sad, so unfair

my first tears for this series..!! oh my this is break my heart. cause too relate. and they deliver the message through superb acting! i got the angst, i got the sadness.. it's unfair 'mother'. it is unfair. without trying to catch up all the missing years, you dont even know your daughter personality, what she's been through .. you just label her as cunning, scheme , rebel etc. you just prejudice.. is it because your own regret? then you treat her like that? but you treat other's daughter so good? hug? even you not hugging your own abandon daughter? so unfair.. unfair. unfair. no matter what her mother truly intentions are , the way is wrong . super wrong! cause at the end of the day, her intention only last for a minute.. she would rather judging and condemned her rather than having nice convo or go with the first intention she had.

A Love Too Heavy for Crowns

After watching Episode 10, it reminds me of Episode 8 of the fragile dream we once held so tightly, yet could never reach.ShuHe whispered with trembling hope, ā€œJust as we promised, we’ll escape to the woods, wandering mountains and rivers side by side.ā€ZiAng, his eyes shining with fragile devotion, replied, ā€œOf course I will. When that day comes, we’ll build a small courtyard in the forest, and beneath the trees, we’ll hold a simple wedding, just the two of us.ā€What a dream it was. So gentle. So impossible. We were born in the wrong place, within the palace where every smile hides chains, where crowns are heavier than life itself. We never wanted to be emperors. We only wished to love freely, to trade the weight of kingdoms for the peace of each other’s arms. But fate is cruel. You bleed from the guards’ merciless blows.I burn from the poison that eats me within. Two bodies breaking in different ways, yet both bound by the same love.If there is another life beyond this one, let us meet not as princes, not as heirs to thrones, but as two ordinary souls who can finally live as we dreamed, a quiet home in the woods,a wedding with no witnesses, and mornings where the only crown we wearis each other’s love.Until then, my heart belongs to you, even in death.

Dun Ao Deng is just the more serious Jin An~

Everyone saw that too right? šŸ˜† DAD is still our Jin An who's just stone-cold in the forefront! His love for Shuang'er still lingers in his heart! He wouldn't have rushed on horseback all the way to the woods if his love was entirely gone. He wouldn't have hurt himself from repairing the roof, which he didn't need to. He wouldn't have cared one bit, if his memories of her were entirely gone. No, it's just hidden so so deep inside. Cheng Lei's brilliant acting when he realised HE was Jin An, was just chef's kiss~ Song Yi also delivered well, no less!

Brilliant writing and acting

I was wondering how Xiao Shu and Duan Zi would reconcile and fall back in love. I really wanted this arc to be realistic and authentic. In my opinion that was accomplished in episode 10. Now I just wish the series was longer. 2 episodes of them falling back in love would be delightful. With just 2 episodes left in the series I hope the ending feels complete and not rushed.

Please remember her, Jin An..

It was yet another fascinating episode. Jin An is long gone now. Still, it was delightful to watch Shuang using silly tactics just to draw DAD's attention to her. Be it playing the qin or provoking the enemy prince by comparing him to a 'lowly servant' (Jin An as she described here).. However, Prince An'nan or Duan Ao Deng isn't a lost cause either. (Shuang'er, we still have hope and I'm sure you know it too~) The way DAD happily smirked while reminiscing his time together with Shuang in that courtyard was proof~ We are waiting for your return, our lover boy Jin An, in the form of DAD~

Ji Won is so uncomfortable in his own skin,…

Ji Won is so uncomfortable in his own skin, that it is making me cringe from 2nd hand embarrassment watching him. the fact he is so shy, introverted & quite is making me cringe internally, cause of this idk how much i like Jeong U, who is in contrast coming off like a manipulative douche, that has an agenda & is slowly gaslighting Ji Won into the position he wants him in. very weird start IMO. if i was Ji Won i don't see him wanting to get close to Jeong U. so the fact he is gonna take him up on his offer & get closer to him & not run in the other direction is illogical - but if events followed logic - no BL.

Five Stars

OMG who choreographed the fight scenes, they need to go back to fighting school because they don't know what they are doing! The Director needs to start doing bertter with it as well. Ep 2 and 3 both need better fight scenes, you would think they were get better, not the same crap. What the heck are they thinking?!It's bad enough that no one knows how to write a vampire story and make it a vampire stroy, romance or not, it would be nice to see a vampire being a vampire. Seeing a vampire fight like one would, not getting hit and shot at and then dying so damn easy. But that's to much to ask for, but they could at least do better with the scenes they do have, so it is more entertaining. Now on to something else... it would seem Ciar is going to try and use the photo as poof that Punn is working with/for the hunters. (I'm guessing the 3rd person in it is Punn, they didn't show us) It also seems like a few people think Punn is working with/for the hunters as it is, but I don't buy it. That photo means nothing, they know each, so what? That dose not mean Punn knows they are hunters. Show me a photo of all of them working as hunters together or something that says without a doubt that he knows anything about them being hunters then I will believe it, but now, nope sorry I don't. Ciar needs to shut the heck up about Punn, he was a slave, yes a shit life, but hes been a vampire for how long now and he still hasn't grown any? What dose that say about him? He's just jealous he's not the favorite anymore. It's already the 3rd ep and we get to see Ramil being so cute with Punn. He's like a little kid who likes to be playful with the one he has a crush on. It's adorable!

avex has a problem

alan shirahama is sooo fucking sexy I'm going to add an extra full star to my review just for him. first thing i want to talk about is how horrible of a character they turned ayumi hamasaki into. she is so goodie & naive & contrived. i know this is a dramatization of a conversation of a situation but ayu is so. stale. it's insufferable. it's really unpleasant. it's not fun. yes kalen anzai sucks at acting but it's not like keiko kitagawa was turning this dog±shit script into shakespeare. she isn't hungry enough is my issue. nor do we see her scuffle enough. when she stahnds up to max masa it doesn't feel euphoric i just look at her odd because where is this wimpy fire coming from ? she's so peachy in all the other scenes & now we have to hear about how tired she is of meaningless gigs like i guess . . . td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜†ć€€ć€€ td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜† & now onto the max matsuura propaganda he's honestly whatever ,i don't like how much focus he is getting ,especially in the first episode because this is Not Your Story. get to the fucking back. & his scenes also dis±joints ayu's like their story+l;ines here do not blend well. td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜†ć€€ć€€ td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜† max masa's scenes also brings us to how ridiculous absurdist ,borderline dadaistic this drama is which i don't hate ,it's actually really fun to see. what i do hate is that this is such a cheapy production so the dramatics are also synthetic & degredading. I'll get into that later but back to the flamboyancy in this drama it has an unintended effect of making the more serious & intimate scenes more endeering ,like the karaoke practice at the bar was honestly kind';ve cute. the montage between the horribly dressed performance of怌 m 怍was so sweet td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜†ć€€ć€€ td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜…,td:*:ļ½„ļ¾Ÿā˜† but sweet doesn't cut it. outfits suck. hair ,& make+up too because they love talking about gyaru here ,all of it is horrible. i know this is based & adapted to low hell about ayumi hamasaki but oh my god why is everything so ugly & frumpy ? did a singul;e person care about this show ? i don't think i have anything else to say. can you imagine it's worst the second time around ?

Plans for the future

This is the last episode. Dr Shirakawa got accepted at Kodak hospital to start training as a pediatric cardiologist. Dr Arai has returned to NICU. Komatsu is planning her own maternity care center so she can be more hands on with women’s care after the birth. The young couple had a beautiful baby girl. She shared this poem with their families after deciding to go through pregnancy with Down syndrome child. The poem is Welcome to Holland by Emily Perl Kingsley. It is a beautiful description of the journey of parents with Down syndrome parents. Please look it up and read it. ā¤ļø Komatsu’s friend had a beautiful baby and then an amniotic embolism. It was very serious surgery but mother and baby doing well. Dr Shamayo is becoming more confidant in emergency medicine and Dr Konotori says he will stay put and be the link to get everybody together. Dr Shinomiya decides to take over his dad’s practice as well as continue his research. The latest resident decided to follow him there and Dr Shinomiya is ever grateful to Dr Konotori for sending him. šŸ˜‚ This is a lovely and thoughtful series that helps us appreciate life. I am very glad I watched both seasons and highly recommend.

Ten Fingers, Ten Acts of Love in Silence

In the quiet of the night, when Khem drifted into fragile sleep, Peem entered, silent as a breath. One by one, he touched those wounded fingers, smoothing cream over each bruise, wrapping them tenderly in bandages as though they were treasures too delicate for the world. Ten little acts of devotion, soft as a lullaby. If this is not love, then love itself has no name. And when dawn crept in, Khem awoke to find his pain cradled in another’s care. He did not need to ask who had done this, his heart already knew. That small, secret smile upon his lips was not for the healing of his hands, but for the quiet proof that someone had chosen to love him in silence.Sad, because the love remained unspoken. Romantic, because it was written in the gentlest of gestures.

Down syndrome

This episode covered non invasive prenatal testing. This can help point to any genetic issues the baby might have. There are mixed feelings about this test as some choose to terminate pregnancy one results received. This covered Down syndrome showing one mother that had a Down syndrome toddler who she considered as precious as brother and the lights of her life. One older couple decided to terminate and one young couple wavered, but the mom eventually opted to have the baby when she requested a sonogram and then chose to not go through with abortion. The issue of right to life and raising a disabled child is a very complex issue. These must be decided in a case by case basis with the family and then the best decision for their family should be respected. This episode has Dr Shinomiya struggling with his future career plans as his father is ill and is the single ob/gyn of his home area. Once again he is in surgery when his sister calls. He runs out the door not sure when he’ll be back. He quickly states his father died and tells Dr Kinotori to take care of things. And the episode ends…
