Why is there no review for this movie…? Well, I have to change that.

From the very first moment I saw the description of Memories of Murder I was sure I was going to at least like this film. Why? Let’s begin with genre: I’m a sucker for things related with serial murders; creepy, I know, but I love this dark, eerie atmosphere that’s usually present in such films. After deciding that this movie is worth watching I’ve done a little research about it… and the things I’ve discovered made me even more certain that this movie is just perfect for me. Not only it is based on real events, but the culprit of this crime was never found! Another thing: I’ve read somewhere that Quentin Tarantino said that this movie is among his Top 20 favorite movies since 1992 – well, that’s a sufficient recommendation for me.

This movie has amazing acting - every single actor made his role alive and believable. The most outstanding one was Song Kang Ho, who plays a role of a stupid local detective, good only at forcing testimonies out of (usually innocent) people with a use of brutal force; evidences are not important to him, the only thing he needs is his intuition. So… yeah, you guess right, he’s not what we call a good cop. He has his sidekick, and boy, this guy is even more stupid and brutal than his hyung – it’s usually him who does dirty work (hanging people upside down, kicking them in the face with combat boots, digging a grave for them etc). So how can such detectives resolve as complicated case as serial murders? Fortunately for them, there’s this guy from Seoul who comes to help them in an investigation - and he is the exact opposite of our country bumpkins.

What I liked about this movie was that it wasn’t only about finding a murderer; it also showed us a believable development of characters. Park Doo Man discovers there are other ways to find a culprit than forcing a testimony out of suspects and Seo Tae Yoon starts to doubt his own, "good" methods. It all combined with great acting, thrilling action and a bit of humor creates an amazing movie. So, if you like thrillers and you’re not put off by violence, then Memories of Murder is just for you.

okay i dnt think this is out yet in the internet but i watched it on my way back frm dubai in the plane...its very different and the cast were really good i gotta admit...but the ending was a bit incomplete...i really had high hopes for this movie and it did turn out well but not as well as i thought it would be...mukai plays this cute , determined character .....the female lead infact play a very secretive, sensitive character, who has build up an iron wall around her heart, due to her past.....it was a typical old woman dating a younger man story and was really cute..it was good to see a movie that had no enemy ship between the lead like most dramas and movies...mukai's sister (kiritani mirei) indeed played a very weak character whose chasing around this guy (ayano go) , and came to paris and abandoned mukai ( this isnt actually a spoiller they say it at the beginning anyways....its smthing light and enjoyable...nothing serious .....hope this helps and encourage u to watch the movie ^_^ i'll try looking for the link of this thing and post it

The one review this movie has is already great; kinda made me watch this movie. But since it's the best movie I've seen in a while, I feel obliged to write one.

It's about a song saving the world, about random events that can lead on to something great. Watching this movie is like zooming in with a photo lens,coming to the focus seeing everything around it. And it has a song, Fish Story. All I can say that it's the only Japanese song I listen to, makes you shout "punk is not dead!"

So, if you are waiting for something to blow your mind, this is it!
Ending with the opening verse of fish story,

"The story of my solitude,
If my solitude were a fish,
It would be so enormous, so militant,
A whale would get out of it."

I loved this so much, I've seen it about 4 times now and I just can't get enough.
Its sweet, innocent and romantic. I love watching Sawako grow more confident and the film just makes me very happy. The story is very basic and not original- shy girl gets bullied in class, popular boy pays attention to her and they become friends. Nothing I haven't seen a hundred times before, but still kept me interested!

The acting is great but sometimes I felt like something was missing, I'm not sure what, it just seemed to lack passion. Its very slow paced and relaxed, so not for you if you like fast moving, action packed films.

Overall its just a very cute movie, there isnt too much else that can be said about it

Upon watching the first few minutes I assumed that I would be bored 'til the end because it wasn't catchy at all. I expected that it would have a tragic ending based on watching the first few minutes.

Then BOOM... flashbacks entered... "here comes the thunder", taaadddaaa,,, it was a horror movie, I swear!,, ggggrrrrr... so creepy
I thought that this drama would freak me out by the creepiness. But as the story progressed I could not hide the laughter on my face. I have been laughing the entire time. The lite comedy was irresistible.

And lastly, the ending! Upon arriving at the end of the story most people cried (so make sure reserve some tissues with u). I was satisfied with the ending and I was satisfied with the characters' decisions though there still a part of me who says "the ending doesn't deserve to be like that. oohhh, just so sad,!"

Main Characters: boy & girl
-Aggressive to being protective with strong stamina.His character matured along the way especially at the end of the story so watch out.
-Physically weak, quiet but straightforward. She matured a little bit.

*It seemed to me that the two characters only have a pet-master relationship. Although there were times that I could see the deep connection between them which was caressing each other. I fell in love with the cuteness of their innocent actions toward each other.

Chance of laughter: 50%
Chance of crying: 40%
Mixed emotions: 10%
=100% recommended for everyone.

Visual effect: finely done & very neat. Their was a scene which needed more editing but it did not ruin my whole watching experience.
Sound effect and Music: If I wasn't mistaken, only one song was played throughout the movie that contained a very sad soothing romantic effect. The sound effect was executed well that played a big role for the story (startled me a lot), for the characters and also made the theater intensified a lot. So if you want to experience more realistic sound effect I suggest you have to turn on to maximum volume when watching this later on.

Just watched. Opinion: quite negative. Probably because I had too high expectations of it. It seemed overrated to me though.

Story: Not original, but it had a scenario that usually appeals to me.

They made nothing of it though. There was something lacking throughout the entire film, and I can't tell exactly what. It's a shame that they had quite a good story to work with yet they ruined its potential.

It seems like they wanted to focus on too many aspects and didn't go into depth with either. So it kinda left you wanting more and more.

The chemistry between the leads - not really present... There were sparks thrown here and there, yes, but inconsistent and not intense enough so they didn't make much sense. Maybe that's what they call a realistic movie though.

The relationship between Yukari and her mother? Briefly explained and quickly resolved.

Yukari's inability to find her true self? Perhaps that's what this was about mostly, but it was still poorly shaped. I would've loved to see the story focusing more on that.

In my opinion, if you're gonna add romance, add it properly or leave it out completely, else it's pretty pointless. I would've liked it if they could develop each side of this story more, or at least choose one main aspect to focus on. It also felt like it dragged on for quite a bit.

Overall it's an enjoyable movie for when you're really bored. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

My overall impression: Cute!

Acting/Cast:
Jang Geun Suk did a really good job as momo and I find myself loving his acting more and more. There's nothing more to say - he left me speechless.

Kim Ha Neul did not make a very large impression on me at the beginning. The start of the story did not give her the room to fully portray her character as a dominant and intimidating person. It was her playful/confused side later in the show that caught my attention.

Story:
I haven't actually read the manga, but I did watch the Japanese drama some time ago. In terms of comparing to the JDrama, I learned to not compare since J and K dramas are different in style and culture (I am a big fan of both).

For the story overall, I think they did a okay job on it - considering that it is a movie. It kind of reminds me of a western styled movie - when screenwriters turn a novel into a movie. My standards are not very high. Some parts, such as the dancing and some of the characters roles and decisions were left to the imagination, which I assume is because of the shortness of the movie.

Putting all thought and analysis aside, it was enjoyable and if you have some free time and want to watch something light, this movie is a pick me up and not a complete waste of time.

I didn't see the anime, actually I only knew that the anime exists when I saw the trailer & OST of this movie, I hoped that this would be just a sweet school love story & I was amazed by a very very beautiful & sweet love story.
I loved how this movies felt so light it just make you feel like your feelings just so light, it was simple yet so touching, I loved the dark side of Yano and the innocent of Takahashi, the an seeing bond between them.
I've read a lot of commits about how there is no chemistry between the leads, but for me it was so beautiful since they didn't look so much with each other & that's why I fell for them, they were so different yer so sweet.
movie that will diffidently melt your heart, don't miss it !

i will try to be objective but i also will admit to getting a fan girl nosebleed (for the very first time)at the end. Runway Cop is similar to the american movie Miss congeniality but in korea and from a male perspective.
i loved the acting. my oppa, kang Ji hwang is an amazing actor and played both the nasty looking and suave looking sides very well. The supporting actors did very well, Yuri was convincing. The story concept was realistic, however the details were not. In most stories Ji Hwangs character would have been fired before the halfway point but as the main character in the story, he could do what he wanted.
It is a comedy and it makes you laugh, but be prepared to watch some slapstick because thats what it comes down to. although there are poor jokes, penis innuendos, and other tom foolery, runway cop is chuck full of man eye candy (with their shirts off!!) so watch just for that.
As a Ji Hwang fan this is a must see! seeing him in a fat suit with great fat makeup made me love him even more. I squealed the whole movie and at the end got a bloody nose. no matter how poor the storyline was it was a worthwhile watch for me and i will probably rewatch the end a few times.
