About the story, from the anime series, the plot was changed. Which I will no longer mention what are the changes are to avoid spoiling the others. The fighting scenes were really awesome. How each scenes were directed was perfect or in detailed. The lighting they have used is well chosen and the places too. You can feel the presence of the past era (which I forgot what it is) to the modern. It's funny though that the cops back then are always too late in the scenes. But it is understandable since there are no cars yet that time.
I can say that this is really worth watching for. Even though I was little sad that there are scenes that I like that wasn't included. I guess they just give emphasize to the important ones. Also, my feelings wasn't totally moved. Maybe because I already know the story that's why I wasn't totally moved.

About actors~ Ohhhhhhhhh!! They are so great! I salute them! They really done a great job especially kenshin!!!! He is so cool, handsome and cute!!! Love him x)
The way he express is just right, love it. Same as the same characters, the expressions are totally right. Although kaoru and Megumi are cute unlike in anime which are matured. Kaoru and Megumi wasn't able to absorb the 100% characteristic in the anime. But they did their job well too :D Sano is not really tall, but with his big muscles I guess that's enough. Anyway, they were really great :D

Music, I love the music and background music. It suits the movie. the sound effects were great too.

Anyway, I give it all 10! It was great~ Worth watching~ ^-^

This movie is amazing. For the first time in my life I cried. At the beginning it was all beautiful, simple, and a little funny. Later, the story began to change and you no you did not stop crying, It was all incredible and sensual. All of those thoughts that are based on the film were wonderful. I watched this film immediately after watching the Prequel, and was surprised by how different the vibe was. While I had enjoyed the first film, I feel it lacks the heart that this film has. Not just because the characters have grown up in this film and are experiencing adulthood (and the actors, I believe, have become much more experienced :)), but because the simple scope of this movie is that of an entire community and what it means to be a part of it. The ending of this film was amazing, and I think that it is one I will want to rewatch. It transcended the humor to be about a lot of people, and I think that's what I enjoyed the most. :) I would recommend it, especially if you enjoy Arashi!

A little bit comedy, a little bit film noir lite, The Scent is an entertaining murder mystery reminiscent of classic Hollywood. If you're like me the whodunnit will be quite easy to figure out, however, the writing makes it fun to watch the detective fumble his way through. He's somewhat bumbly, but mostly a sincere hardworking cop (and P.I.) who probably should listen to his sidekick, Pong, much more.

The acting was very good. The leads were engaging and charasmatic. The supporting cast lead by the scene stealing Lee Kwang Soo (Pong) was strong. The writing is fairly solid as is the production (no outstanding continuity issues). The Scent is worth a watch. (8.5)

When I first started watching this film I thought... What have I gotten myself into? But then it takes a surprising twist on the lead characters I would say the theme to this story is that how one person can come in and change the course of your life. I found the lead actress's in this delightful and rather fascinating to watch in how she keeps changing in her role. There is sort of a dark undertone to the lives the girls are leading so prepare yourself for that but the romance that develops between Rio and the professor makes you see past the age difference. I was not disappointed with the ending.

This was really an interesting movie...
I originally watched it for Matsuda Shota after watching him in Liar Game, but he's so much younger and adorable in this.
This movie really shouldn't be taken all that seriously, as it is first and foremost, a comedy. The main characters are all unique and important to the story in some aspect. The story can be a little confusing from time to time, with a couple things that I don't feel are completely explained, but besides that it's an interesting concept that I think they pulled off well. (Although I feel that the actors and the characters really held this movie together, as opposed to any cohesive story elements.)
I gave the music an 8 just because I don't remember it very well. I don't think it didn't fit at any point in the movie, so that's good. But anything special? I don't remember.
I would rewatch it again, but not anytime in the near future.

I recommend it if you're looking for something other than the usual romantic comedy when you're bored.

This movie is basically about AhLei and Xuan who meet each other on a fansite for a band called Mayday. Ahlei manages the Mayday website because his brother Stone is one of the Mayday members. Xuan and Ahlei starts chatting with each other. Ahlei lies to Xuan about the Ahshen (another Mayday member) and therefore Xuan continues to chat with him thinking he is Xuan. Xuan is an Beijing Opera performer and her Opera troupe comes to Taiwan for a show. Ahlei and Xuan decides to meet in a bookstore in Taiwan. Ahlei is nervous about meeting her after the fact that he lied to her. He follows her around after she leaves the bookstore and meet again in the train. Xuan find out about his lie from his friend and confronts him. They continues meeting each other and going to different plays…that’s how more than half of the movie went.

Then at the end they added a totally random/crappy addition to the story…why waste making the movie at all?

This movie only has one thing: Good looking main cast. Lu Yifei was totally cute and Bolin Chen is beautiful. That’s about all it has. Story is very lacking…and I don’t know what to make of the acting either. Overall, I was totally bored out of my mind while watching this movie

This was a re-make of the American Film with Patrick Swazye and Demi Moore but I must say I preferred this version with Jun-Ho (Song Seung-Heon)as a potter, who falls in love but his wife loses her life on her way home.
Then there's the psychic who helps by saying all that she could not say (because she's dead) and also helps to solve the murder.

What got on my nerves however, was her inability to tell him that she loved him.
I kept saying it at all the opportune times but she never did, lol.

A nice classic especially for persons who love to watch a good

First, a word of warning, this film is graphic. If you are sensitive to violence or blood, stay away!

Now, this crime thriller has one of the most well thought out plots I have ever seen. Throughout the entire detective process you're left knowing hardly more than the main character, Kyeongyoon. And talk about a number of plot twists. It will keep you jumping from one person to the next as you try to figure out who-done-it.

Now, this movie doesn't only focus on the brutal scenes. As Kyeongyoon is trying to solve the serial murder case, we begin to see more and more of his personal life. He is getting married soon, but his job keeps taking away from their time together. His past also begins to cause a rift in their relationship, as he begins to spend more and more time trying to find out what happened to Lee Yoonsuh, who was at one time close to Kyeongyoon.

This is where beautiful cinematography comes in. Scenes from the past often take on an almost dream-like quality, with brightened lights and shifting images. This is definitely an experimental move, but it really caught my attention. It gave an almost chaotic feel, which closely mirrored Kyeongyoon's own feelings about his past.

However, the troubled relationship of the engaged couple doesn't begin and end with Kyeongyoon. His fiancée, Soojin, has a shocking past herself. It was quite honestly a jaw-dropping moment when you discover her secrets.

Overall, there are plenty of shockers in this movie and absolutely nothing was done without a purpose. I too was gasping multiple times during the last fifteen minutes as everything was unfolding. A couple viewings of this film might be needed to fully grasp all that happened, but it is well worth the second, third, or in my case, fifth watch.

This movie is very harsh, there are no rainbows or butterflies when it comes to this film. It's about the harshness of life and love that shouldn't be. The characters are very dark and are sometimes hard to understand until a flashback happens later in the film. The love between the Jade and Takeko is dysfunctional but real, you can almost understand Jade's obsession with Takeko. The actress did a very good job playing women in love. And it was nice to see Ranie Yang play a more mature role rather then her cutesy innocent stuff. I recommend this film to anyone who is willing to give it a try.
Happy Watching :)

I watched this film because of it's american counterpart. I wanted to see the original since it's such a classic.
I did not enjoy this film at all, it's not that I don't like horror films I do or else I wouldn't have volunteered to watch it.
But this film is all over the place and very confusing. One moment your in the past, then the present, then the past again, the future and back to the present only to be brought to a future different then before.
The story is good but with all of the confusing time jumps I didn't have a chance to enjoy the film.
That being said it is a classic film so you should give it a chance, maybe you'll like it more then I did.
Happy Watching :)

I think it is safe to say that the audience expects certain things from a Zhang Yimou film; masterful direction of gorgeous visuals and deep characters who endure and survive, their struggles evoking the audience's empathy.
With such a high standard set by himself, sadly this particular offering doesn't satisfy and is in fact rather disappointing.

The characters, despite their troubles, remain vacant and unlikeable, their plight and the story seeming to come second to the aesthetics of the film. This film is certainly worth watching for the costume design alone, and although some elements were not period correct, artistic license is well permitted in this kind of feature. Unfortunately the glorious costume designs are somewhat overshadowed by the almost assailing barrage of colour throughout the picture, which would feel more like a carefully considered element were the whole picture not marred by moments of very poor CGI.

Furthermore, the pacing of the film felt unbalanced, the result being that by the end of film you felt like not much altogether had occurred, and what had happened was made irrelevant by the lack of compassion for the main characters and what happened to them.

Still, I'd say it's worth a watch, particularly for designers and fans of the cast, but I wouldn't give my time to watch it again.

I just want to say i'm very disappointed ! :(
I was very happy to watch this movie but ... BUT that's not what i want ! ^^
First of all, I must recognize that the actors are good ! The casting is a good choice ! that's true true ...

Then, The story is a good story BUT... The staging is a disater ! It's so boring, too slow! And it's a pity because the story could be very interesting !
I just enjoyed the end ! A very Beautiful End !

Finally... I'm disappointed and I would not recommend this movie!

Just finished both parts of Bokura ga ita. Ahhhh... I think I movie-gamsed about 7 times. These two movies were fantastic. The chemistry between the two leads is outstanding. Yoshitaka Yuriko was absolutely adorable as Takahashi. They really picked the perfect girl for her part - not overly good looking but brilliantly charismatic. And Ikuta Toma's acting was the best I've seen him do since Hana Kimi, not to say he's anything like Nakatsu in this, but he did an awesome job. The romance had my heart bursting like the fireworks in the movie, and the drama made for an excellent story. I've never seen the anime or read the manga, but these two movies were great! I highly recommend them.

There's no review on this show so I thought I could write one (and sorry if there are mistakes...).
I found this movie really impressive. It really shows well the life in China at the beginning of the 20th Century I guess, and the only thing I could think about afterwards was that I was really lucky not to be there.
I think it's relly interesting to watch this movie to learn about China's history. It's good if you want to have culture. And this movie also got an award.
But if you're more interested in comedies it's not exactly a happy story. Yet the main charcacter is really appealing and I think the actress, Gong Li, is a great actress.
