An unforgettable Masterpiece

I sincerely believe that this is one of the most beautiful and interesting costume films in the world cinema. Beautiful cinematography and costumes will take the viewer into the world of the end of the Han dynasty and the period of the formation of the Three Kingdoms, but the political theme, although intriguing, stands in the background here. I personally fall in love with the heroic adventures of the epoch's legendary heroes, and especially the interactions that took place between the two MLs (no romance, no bromance)
Aesthetically - beautiful, plot - intriguing. The music falls into the heart and perfectly captures the spirit of the era and action. Absolutely beautiful ending song. For me, this is an absolutely brilliant production that has exactly all the elements to make it a masterpiece with Kaneshiro Takeshi's unforgettable performance as Zhuge Liang.

Red string or red herring?

You make me dance is a story that is as unlikely as its pair- a debt collector and the debitor. It offers nothing new either in its plot or in its characterisation. But it makes us sit through till completion because of how honestly it portrays that unlikely story. Jin Hong Seok is a machine living his monotonous life and Song Shi On is at the prime of his youth full of hopes, dreams and wishes. One seems about done with his life while the other actively wants to begin his. In another world where chance encounters with supposed couples do not happen, these two might have as well lived their lives blissfully unaware of the other's existence. But here they form a strange bond that develops with the help of some even stranger rationale. It's also strangely engaging despite the lack of a strong plot and any actual conflict.

In many ways, the movie is simple minded and that can be refreshing to those who do not want to spend their time dissecting all the layers underneath a character. There are themes of abandonment and midlife crisis but they are not addressed, just mentioned. I wouldn't say any character is well rounded but that is on the story- the characters are molded to fit in. It's an easy watch if we just accept the things the way they roll out and here's the catch- in spite of all its misgivings, the movie is surprisingly acceptable. Not in a "this is ridiculous but it's funny and emotional" kind of way but more along the lines of "yes, it's far from perfect but it's not impossible". That definitely goes in favour of the movie.

Another impressive aspect in this clichéd story is that it doesn't depend on fate, much in contrast to its opening scenes. The leads try and make things happen instead of leaving them up for Fate to chance upon and throw in their way. Whether this was intended or it just unknowingly came to be, it feels good.

The figurative red thread keeps making metaphorical appearances throughout and is well used. I didn't understand what purpose the CEO of Chachacha was supposed to serve, but thankfully her scenes are limited and she is present more to pull the story towards the required ending than to be an actual obstacle. Same goes for Shi On's senior. The final twenty minutes could have been written, edited and presented much better. Everything was building up to that point and it felt as if the balloon just popped all of a sudden without any reason. It was an unsolvable mess of poor writing and poor execution and that was actually the bigger disappointment compared to the wafer thin story line. Music is good even though it doesn't stand out. Cinematography is okay and the performances are convincing. This isn't something I'd fawn over now or later but it's not bad as a one time watch.

A Beautiful Transition To The Second Season

When I heard that there was a movie coming out for Gameboys before the second season, I was shocked! It seems like this content is just flying out so fast, season 1 seems like it came out just yesterday! Regardless, I was very excited. I loved Gameboys the first season, it was a breath of fresh air and I fell in love with Gav and Cai's love story. I had no clue what this movie was going to even cover because it was so up in the air...and then the clip was released. Bruh XD the creators of this know their audience!

Let's move onto the plot. It wasn't what I expected. I did expect an exploration of physical intimacy (we'll get into that more later lol) but that was about it. Then we throw in our side characters becoming a couple (Terrence and Wesley), Achilles dealing with the fact that he gave up on Terrence and now he's found someone else. Pearl being a queen as usual and a homophobic aunt that made me want to punch a hole in my computer screen. There was both a lot going on and also not a lot going on. It was done very well! Part of me wishes though that we had explored more outside of the house and the beach, but I get it was still quarantine and there's only so much they could do.

On to the acting. The actor who plays Gav (Kokoy), phenomenal in this. Literally heartbreaking. He's such a happy, borderline carefree and comedic presence in Gameboys season 1 that this switch up hurt even more because of that! Like dang his acting chops came out in this and I was so impressed. He portrayed grieving and panic attacks so well, where in the series we got bits of it but not nearly as clearly as in this. We also really got his love for Cai in this too. Dude's been acting since 2013 I guess and it shows!
Cai's actor (Elijah) was really good too! He continued with his characters hesitation in this, but opened up soooo much throughout the film and especially at the end. It was really beautiful to watch! Him standing up for not only Gav, but himself and his friends for being lgbtq had me shouting with him! So solid and the line "please don't use god's name to perpetuate your hate" was perfection.

Sooooo...the moment we've all been waiting for. Gav and Cai's chemistry is through the roof. It really felt like I was just watching lovers in action throughout the entire film who have been separated for so long and are making up for lost time! I'm not sure how close Kokoy and Elijah are IRL but I could at least feel love through the screen so job well done. The kissing was no hold back, and okay realism when it comes to a love scene! What in the hell, I thought I was hallucinating. VERSE KINGS lmao, never something I've seen in really any queer content, let alone a BL! So beautiful, to the point where I teared up over a love scene because it was so intimate and sensual. Just the looks on their faces will get you I swear, let alone the body language and pacing of the scene. Raised the bar for sure!

Pay the $8 internationally if you can! It was definitely worth it and let's look forward to season 2! Keep up the stellar work everyone whose working on this.

if you have a heart, you will be left in tears and rage

FIRST IMPRESSION
Am SILENCED after watching this movie. I ain’t unable to explain the pain I feel which is making me think of this diseased society where no one is safe. WHY? Because the justice sides with the money and victims are SILENCED to let them live in the society.

PLOT VIEW
The first half of the movie is showing us the crime being taken place and the second half is a courtroom drama. Every moment, every scene, every dialogue, breaks the soul into a thousand pieces, mere thinking this isn't just a movie but is a real case, some disabled children actually had to go through this. The movie makes one uncomfortable with explicit scenes and its supposed to make you feel that way to get in the shoes of a spectator where you did nothing.
the movie shows also show vast discrimination happening in society poorly people are brought with money, where rich people take bribes. No interpreter for the disabled people which like humiliating them for being that way.

What makes this adult do such felony because they know the society is of respectable people who will remain silent for their reputation. The prosecutors, judges, teachers, schools, and parents will remain silent if they are bought with money. How do such people live by selling their professional integrity for few bucks? But as human beings where does our soul die and we fail to protect such kids. Not just kids but teens, grown-ups too and not just girls but boys too. If the crime is committed the perpetrator's good reputation and deeds are taken into account on the other side victims dressing, behavior is described, why such discrimination, just because they are underprivileged? There should be no less than execution as the punishment for such crimes.

ACTING/CAST
Gong Yoo never disappoints with his acting chops. He is remarkable with an average art teacher reputation, we can see how he represents all of us who wants to but fight. All the kids were no less, each expression without saying anything they just said their story to the world.
Yun Doo, Yoo Ri, and Min Soo have shown a wonderful performance. Min Soo specially sweeps you off the feet with his intense character portrayal and storyline. These child actors actually felt like a living demonstration of the horrible incident that had happened.

MUSIC
The music actually isn't there but it still has a main part in the movie. The whole movie will feel like a raw conversation.

REWATCH
This movie can be rewatched if you are good at taking disturbing issues. I will rewatch this but not now, after when I have overcome its trauma.

APPRECIATION
This movie is based on the book The Crucible by Gong Ji Young who knows if she had faced a rebound for writing this book. But glad that this novel was made into a movie that had such a huge impact to make the S.Korean government amend the laws.

With the first scene car and the child in a tunnel, the movie sets its bar high that it is not going to be an easy watch. You might have to pause at some point to take a breath and calm yourself down or maybe take time to cry out loud because tears just don’t seem to stop. And I always say take some popcorn and tissue to watch a movie, but for this movie only tissue is needed.

RECOMMENDATION
This movie is for people who can process child molesting, abuse. It also good for some law inspiration as this movie was able to shook the society. if anyone has an interest in human rights then have a watch.

Cute parallel story plus continuation to Once in Memory: Love at First Sight

There seems to be some controversy regarding Film telling Kong that he does not like guys. It's a much-ridiculed line (though I still love SOTUS where I first encountered such a line). But it pays to remember that we don't really know whether to take Film seriously or if he is just saying it to see if Kong would look disappointed. He keeps making these turns in the conversation, so to me, it as though we are really meant to take his word for it.

Overall, I still find the first installment a tad better. A lot of the story is repeated from Film's perspective (the previous part is from Kong's point of view), but we still don't really get that much insight into Film. The slight differences in the story may even point unnecessarily towards the idea of an unreliable narrator.

To me what brings the story down isn't Film telling Kong that he doesn't like guys (but Kong is an exception). The story now seems a little jumbled up. It's not a straightforward continuation and has flashbacks covering the same parts of the story as Part 1. Yet, the flashbacks don't seem all that purposeful and in the end, we may not really get Film's hesitation before becoming Kong's boyfriend when he clearly likes Kong all this while. Instead of having parallel flashbacks, perhaps more of Film's thought processes would have worked better.

This sequel is still rather cute and worth watching. But you really do not lose much if you just watch Part 1.

Revenge of the kittens

This so called horror movie is among the most adorable horror movies I have ever seen! And actually has a little bit of everything in it. Thought the pace in the beginning may not be great , most of the effects make sure you do not think this is real and some of the actors where still in need of a lesson or two, Park Min Young and Kim Ye Ron rocked theirs roles and where a pleasure to watch,

this movie has ALLOT of cute fluffy cats as well as some pretty scary cats and seem to try to convey several messages. The most important one being, be kind to cats or you too shall die, so it actually has some humour in it too.

All in all not a masterpiece but most definitely worth watching,

Short, Strong and on Point.

Future Chinese dramas can take a leaf out of this one. With only 37 minutes, it managed to convey a lot of emotions. This should've been atleast an hour long. I loved both Po Xiao and Feng Ran a lot. I liked how the two different contrasting characters learnt to trust each other. The basic plot is very Wuxia. It would've had so much potential and been a good one. My only complaint is that everything was so rushed! Skip a sentence and you don't know where the story is heading.
The cast was the highlight - they acted their hearts out. I hurt for Feng Ran and Po Xiao. It was so realistically portrayed! Kudos to them! I hope to see them in future works.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a watch.

Too sour to enjoy

I get it- hectic work schedules will ultimately put strain on anyone, even to the most extreme workaholics. However it’s how you react to that work that reflects yourself as a person. What this movie seems to depict is that it’s not a romcom like what the description suggests, but a slew of poor decision making and mentality. I really like JKY as an actor, and props to him for making his character irritating to the viewer. As everyone highlighted, I was really caught off guard by the ending. They could’ve chosen to make the movie end on the sweeter note by having the female lead repair her relationship with her boyfriend, however it just made everyone seem more pathetic. It also seemed to derail the flow of the movie, it felt so abrupt and out of place- I was left reeling. Ultimately, I would watch the movie if you enjoy watching JKY, CSB, or Krystal, but sweet and sour is an ultimate waste of the immense talent of the cast.

Yaya in the shower using OWL instead of shower gel: LMAO

Now, Yaya is amazing. I knew Sunny Suwanmethanont was amazing all along but with Yaya, it was not before 'Leh Lub Salub Rarng' that she proven herself to me to be more than just a pretty face. Unfortunatelly, that Nichkhun or Munchkin or whatever his pet name was has NOT proven himself to be a better partner than Nadech The Gay Face (his character is supposed to be half-japanese... sadly it seems the gay side of japanese). Therefore, I wasn't enjoying the whatever romance-side and strictly focused myself on the brother-sister relationship & humour... Then of course, the emotional ending. Aww:) Sunny & Yaya were awesome, they touched my heart more than Nadech & Yaya ever did, LOL. And this was better than if they cast them as lovers. Stronger. So never mind Nichkhun, his was after all a side-role.

FAMILY MOVIE

●This body-swap drama was oddly hilarious and touching concurrently. With the daughter growing up, experiencing her teenage growth, she has all her insecurities with a new crush and obvious study problem because she is an average student. The father is trying ways to be there for her and eventually, the body swap brings them their problems and closer.
The father understands her daughter's feelings more deeply and even paves way for her to be with one she has a crush on. He also takes her dream of pursuing music seriously. The daughter also understands her father that how hard he works to save every penny.

●The concept is heavy, but the writers managed to keep it light with the comic scenes fairly well. And also the actors who put all the effort into playing roles of the opposite gender. the movie could have gone wrong, cause there are so many dramas and movies of the same concept which tend to bore you at some point. the comedy and drama is well balanced

●Ye Je Moon is an ace artist, he just blended in the character of a teen daughter perfectly. Jung So Min is very cool playing the role of daddy, Her body language and speech ability was fine. They would have worked hard that if the daddy was playing the role of what his reactions could be and they taking those same reactions in his acting. similarly for Jung So MIn also she would have taken a whole daddy speaking ability from Ye Je Moon and acted like him.

●I liked this movie and would rewatch it for a light mood.
It's a great family movie, which you can watch with your whole family and enjoy.

●Lastly, it also teaches when you are not in other shoes you don’t know their problems. This movie specifically shows what it is to walk in a daughter's shoes or the shoes of a dad. the end credit is touching it is really

Enjoyable regardless of the manga

I just found out that this was adapted from the manga while writing this review so I'll criticize this movie based on how I watched it.

Knowing that this is fictional/fantasy still some parts made me confused. One of the characters has magic as he can use spells or maybe energy they call it when I thought that the drama will just surround about assassins. There was also a scene wherein Kenshin got hit twice on vital parts but he did not die nor even got hurt (maybe he also has this energy).

Nevertheless, I applaud the fight choreography. The BGM was also high in quality. However, I believe that some fighting scenes can be showcased better.

I'm not knowledgeable about history moreover Japan's so I wasn't able to enjoy it to its full extent. Anyhow I enjoyed the fighting scenes.

My Amanda is definitely a slow film, with barely any plot. In fact, the reality of a plot it does have is nothing spectacular in itself. What makes the film worth a watch is how it doesn’t shy away from focusing on Amanda and TJ’s friendship. their friendship is a little bit unrealisticIt is a lighthearted film, through the film we will connect with the characters... While comparing it to Before Sunrise would be blasphemy, the film tries to take on a similar note.TJ and Amanda were only friends in this film and not lovers, so romantic chemistry between the two leads is not really a must. A close friendship between two people with an 8-year age gap may not be that realistic in real life, but Pascual and de Rossi were clearly comfortable in their cheerful banter.Overall my amanda focus more about the unique friendship of fuffy and freamy(nicknames).

After watching dozens of martial arts movies I decided to revisit this classic. Even though it followed the revenge theme fairly closely and the antipathy toward Japanese occupiers, Fist of Fury stepped away from the pack in terms of quality. Though the majority of sets were indoors or on the lot, they were beautifully crafted and believable as real homes and dojos for the most part, especially given the budget.

When Bruce Lee’s Chen Zhen returned home to find out his master was murdered, he did not take it well. In Fist of Fury all the Japanese were EVIL, there was no nuance which seemed like a missed opportunity for story depth. Bruce stacked the bodies up during his rampage to avenge his master. Most kung fu movies have a revenge theme, Fist of Fury leaned into it---hard. Bruce did have some say in how he wanted the movie to end, to show that crime and killing doesn’t pay. The story was definitely a step up from most kung fu revenge stories.

I’ve always felt Bruce Lee was better at conveying rage in his fights or staring down his opponents with an intensity born of confidence in himself, here he also showed real tenderness in his scenes with Yuan Li Er (Nora Miao), the woman Chen had returned to Shanghai for in order to marry. At his master’s funeral, they touched hands in a way that only lovers do, sweetly and sensually. As always, he was beautiful and compelling. There’s no denying he had real magnetism.

Books have been written about Bruce Lee’s fighting skills and I have nothing significant to add. All I will say is that he was lightning fast and amazing to watch. After scrutinizing other martial artists in movies, I have to say he is still the best. And that’s saying something, because for me, there are few things better than martial arts movies with Jet Li, Donnie Yen, or Gordon Liu.

As I’ve said in previous reviews, I don’t watch kung fu movies for the story or acting, it all comes down to the fights and the beginning fight with Bruce clearing out a dojo and the final fights were magnificent. Fist of Fury was not a perfect film, but it was entertaining and bittersweet, knowing how few films Bruce Lee would make.
