Not a Perfect Drama, but Ding Yuxi Made It Worth the Seven Lifetimes
I started Love You Seven Times at a time when I was already suffering from a serious C-drama burnout. After watching one drama after another, I was no longer sure if I could fully enjoy another xianxia. To be honest, part of the reason I started this was because my iQIYI subscription was about to expire, and this was still sitting on my list.
But the main reason I pressed play?
Ding Yuxi.
And after finishing all 38 episodes, I can confidently say: I came for Ding Yuxi, and yes, he carried the whole thing for me.
The drama started surprisingly light. The first tribulation was cute, silly, and honestly exactly the kind of easy watch I needed during my burnout. Then the story gradually became more emotional. The Song Xiangyun and Lu Changkong arc brought revenge, separation, manipulation, and tragedy. By the time we reached the Linglong Heart cycle, I was already emotionally invested enough to cry over another sacrifice.
And that was probably the biggest surprise for me. Love You Seven Times may not have the most consistently written story, but it kept finding ways to pull me back in. Some arcs worked better than others, and the later mythology-heavy storyline became more complicated and occasionally messy. There were moments when I felt the drama was trying to do too much, and the final stretch could have benefited from clearer explanations and more room to breathe.
Apparently, I wasn't alone in feeling this way.
Many viewers also found the earlier portions slow or uneven, while others felt the story became much more rewarding once the larger picture and past events started coming together.
The rushed and somewhat confusing final stretch was also a common criticism. At the same time, many viewers agreed that the emotional payoff, the different lifetimes, and the central relationship made the journey worth continuing.
But for me, the biggest reason this drama worked was Ding Yuxi.
Hats off to him because he made every side of Chukong believable. He could be boyish, playful, petty, and downright funny without becoming annoying. Then he could switch to serious, commanding, vulnerable, jealous, heartbroken, and devastatingly self-sacrificing—and somehow it all still felt like the same character.
That versatility was what kept me watching.
I have seen dramas where an actor is good at intense scenes but feels stiff in comedy, or charming in light scenes but struggles when the character becomes emotionally heavy. Ding Yuxi handled both ends of the spectrum so naturally that Chukong remained interesting regardless of which version of him we were getting. And judging from the reactions I found after finishing the drama, I am definitely not the only one who felt that his performance was one of the show's biggest strengths.
I also ended up appreciating the central concept more than I expected. Watching two people meet, separate, fall in love, lose each other, and somehow keep finding their way back to one another across different lifetimes gave the drama its emotional identity. Not every lifetime hit equally hard, but that was part of the fun too—you never quite knew whether the next one would make you laugh, frustrate you, or suddenly leave you crying.
And yes, this drama definitely made me cry.
For someone who started this just looking for something light and easy while waiting for an iQIYI subscription to expire, I did not expect to become this invested. The drama had its flaws.
The pacing could be uneven, some parts of the mythology became unnecessarily complicated, and the ending could have been given more time and explanation. But despite all that, I never regretted finishing it.
Because somewhere between the silly beginning, the tragic mortal lives, the Linglong Heart sacrifice, the revelations, and all the chaos of the final storyline, I found myself genuinely wanting to know how their story would end.
And maybe that is the best thing I can say about Love You Seven Times.
It did not completely cure my C-drama burnout.
It is not a perfect xianxia. And I would not pretend that the writing is flawless.
But Ding Yuxi made me stay for all 38 episodes.
So if you're a Ding Yuxi fan, I would absolutely recommend giving this one a try. You get to see him being playful, adorable, arrogant, serious, jealous, emotional, heroic, and heartbreaking—all within one drama.
As for me?
I came for Ding Yuxi.
I stayed because Ding Yuxi carried the whole thing for me.
And somehow, against all odds and despite my C-drama burnout, I finished all seven times. 😂😭

Incredibly Underrated !
Despite its low budget and short episodes' runtime, The Secret Of Girl did a very good job at delivering. The acting is great and the cinematography is also good. The plot is simple, it is funny and sad, captivating enough to binge the whole thing in one sitting.
It is a beautiful and heartbreaking short story, only 160 minutes long, and since Chinese GL is very rare I think everyone should check this out.

Family Oriented form other Family
At first I want to watch Road to success because of the leading man Chen jing ke🤣, but after awhile of watching I'm hook on the story of the leading lady Ester Yu, and Captain Fu Xin Shu, Beautiful story how them manage their problem to help each other is not a simple thing. Thanks to writer for a wonderful story👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?
A Good RomCom - for someone tired of Drama
It's silly tbh, but good one.I'm getting a second hand embarassment with Three.
As the story progress, it shows more than being just a romcom, but at the same time it stays it's good storyline.
Looking forward to watch more episodes.
If you got tired of drama, better watch this.
Also shows how Maxxy and Bas are great actors, as this is different from their past JohanNorth series, still they carry different characters so good.

A cute series on its own, but...
Ever since the pilot trailer came out, I've been really excited for this one. And I really got hooked on it even after just watching the first episode, so much that I searched up the novel and started reading it right away. I got completely in love with the storyThat's why it was a bit dissapointing comparing it to the series, especially after watching not just the first but also the second episode of the series. I think the casting is perfect for this one I wouldn't complain about that one, but it feels like they water the story down a bit.
I'm a bit sad about the scene where Thara, Cheeta and Niran are in the astronomy club sitting on the ground. In the series only Thara rest his head on Niran's shoulders, but in the novel Niran also fall asleep and rest his head on Cheeta's shoulders. It would've been such a cute scene if they follow the novel. I really don't get it why would they change this?? I get it they can't completely follow the novel they must change some things, and I really don't mind when they change or skip something "unimportant" but when they change scenes like these it really gets me thinking what's on the screenplay writers' mind.
And the cafeteria scene in ep2?? It was cute but why is Cheeta going for the hug and not Niran pulling him into the hug. This is what I'm really missing in the series that they try to portray it as if only Cheeta was going for Niran. But in the novel you can tell that Niran is also whipped since day one and he's much bolder. His character still has so much depth in the series so I'm not complaining the script writers still did a good job. It's just that it could be still a bit better
Okay so my final conclusion is if you're thinking about reading the novel right now, DON'T. Don't do it while watching the series. The novel is literally a masterpiece, and the series is also really good on its own but my tip is that you should read the novel after finishing the series. Also please note this is my opinion only after seeing the first 2 episodes. This series definitely has a lot of potential, can't wait to see what the full picture end up being

Third Time's The Charm With LITC
I finally made it to the end on my third attempt to watch this show, and I'm so glad I stuck with it this time. As someone who loves butterfly-inducing romances where the leads trust each other, my first impression of LITC was that it was all lies, betrayal, and nonstop angst. But after giving it a third chance, let me tell y'all, I was completely wrong. This drama ended up serving exactly what I love. Even when the leads weren't together or were forced apart, they never stopped protecting each other. More importantly, they never doubted that the other loved them unconditionally, and that unwavering trust is what made their relationship so satisfying to watch.
On top of that, the production was fantastic. The CGI was excellent, the world-building was done really well, and the costumes were beautiful. I also loved the cast of characters: heroes, side characters, and even the villain. And I have to give a special shoutout to the adorable companion beasts, who completely stole my heart.
My only recommendation is to push through the first 13 episodes or fast-forward if you have to. That's when the story really picks up, and from there, it became a drama I genuinely enjoyed.

Missed it's potential, felt rushed.
It started as a light, funny, sometimes nonsensical rom-com, and I enjoyed parts of it. The villain was way too obvious, so the suspense was nil but I liked how quickly and cleanly they eventually caught him. My biggest problem was Meeri’s ex...every time he appeared, my patience disappeared. His shamelessness, lack of remorse, and toxic family were incredibly frustrating. I also got annoyed with Meeri for continuing to listen to him and comfort him despite everything he had done.
The drama had a lot of potential with its side characters and possible couples, especially Dr. and Sanghyeon, but it barely explored them. A lot of things were rushed near the end, while the ex and his family got far more attention than they deserved. I also wish we’d gotten more closure for some relationships and characters. Even the wedding felt oddly rushed, with the empty chairs making it look like half the guests hadn’t arrived.
Overall, It's not a great drama, and it definitely missed a lot of opportunities. There were moments I genuinely enjoyed. maybe cuz it was wooshik and I'm a little biased.

My new favorite film
I'm prone to hyperbole, but this is a fact: I sat down to watch this film hoping for a pleasant diversion but I came away a changed person. I watched it again the next day and was just as charmed.Linda, Linda, Linda is the antithesis of a Hollywood movie. It's calm, naturalistic, nostalgic, and warm. There's no meaningful conflict, no big set pieces, and many scenes play out almost as if rather than a script, there was just a one line description of what happens.
But that's the magic. The key is the cast, and especially Bae Doona as the awkward but charming protagonist, Son, a Korean transfer student in a Japanese high school It's impossible to imagine anyone else in this role. She captures the curiosity, loneliness, courage, and humor of Son so flawlessly.
I could go on and on, but it's better if you just watch it. Though it probably won't be to your taste if my description makes you skeptical rather than intrigued...

Unfulfilled Promises - I Wish They Kept the OG Dynamic
There is such power and expectation in a title such as 'The Servant Prince'. Even the synopsis itself puts weight on the master-servant dynamic introduced in the 1st episode.Takaaki is rather interesting. While it looked like he was being bullied by Naoya back in high school, it is revealed (pretty quickly at that) that he enjoys this dynamic. He loves being at Naoya's feet, looking up at him. He enjoys this dynamic so much so that when their outward power balance shifts, i.e Naoya falls to the bottom of the social ladder, losing his standing and money, and Takaaki makes it big, becoming nouveau riche, he still wants to be at the bottom of his 'boyfriend's-but not really boyfriend's' feet. Taking orders and serving him when told to. The man literally tells us that he believes he was born to serve Naoya. It's an intrinsic part of him.
That was such a good setup to me. I wanted to see how they'd navigate learning and understanding each other, growing and building a stronger relationship with better communication, while balancing this delicate dom-sub dynamic that one of them is said to crave and thrive in. Unfortunately, this dynamic is kicked to the curb by the end of the 1st episode.
From there onwards, they become just a normal couple. We watch them struggle to better understand each other, grow closer (past just hooking up), navigate Naoya's atrocious father, Takaaki's insecurities, and Naoya getting out of his shell and choosing how to live his life despite his past and his father. It's nice, but it's not quite what I was promised, now is it?
I remember watching Takaaki confronting Naoya's father in ep 8, and thinking to myself, 'Can you imagine if the drama showed us the contrast between this commanding Takaaki and the version that took joy, pride, and satisfaction in worshipping and serving Naoya? Being at his beck and call? How fucking hot and interesting could that have been?'
Sigh. I cannot help but lament my expectations of what this drama could have been.
Final Thoughts
The JBLs 'My Beautiful Man' and 'My Personal Weatherman' appear in the recommendations section for a reason. This drama promised us something similar to what is seen in those dramas - and eventually failed to deliver on it. Had this promise not been made, had this dynamic not been introduced, I think I'd have had a decent time watching this. Sadly, while the show has some positives, I spent most of my watch time feeling frustrated because of the broken promise.

✨ Are You the One: A Fake Marriage That Turned Into a Love Worth Fighting For ?
Are You the One was more than just a historical romance for me—it was a story about a woman who never loses herself, even while living inside a fake marriage, and a man who slowly learns the true meaning of love behind his cold, political façade. 💫🌸 Wang Chu Ran was absolutely captivating as Liu Miantang. She brought such sweetness, elegance, and warmth to the character, yet never made Miantang feel naïve or dependent. Miantang is intelligent, independent, and entrepreneurial—a woman who knows how to build her own life through determination, talent, and a sharp business mind. Even when she finds herself in a fake marriage, she remains strong and true to herself.
What makes her character so beautiful is that she can be deeply in love, soft, and completely enchanted by her husband, while still holding on to her own identity and strength. She loves wholeheartedly, but she never becomes a victim of love—and that is exactly what makes Liu Miantang so special. 🤍
🖤 On the other side, the male lead has one of the most satisfying character transformations. He begins as a cold, cautious, and politically strategic man—someone accustomed to controlling every situation with logic and careful planning. But little by little, through Miantang, he becomes softer, more honest, and more emotionally open.
Watching him transform into a man who is willing to fight for his love with everything he has is truly heartwarming. He doesn’t simply fall in love; he learns to be vulnerable, sincere, and to let go of his pride and sense of safety for the woman he loves. 🥹❤️
Their chemistry is genuinely beautiful—from the quiet, sweet moments of their fake married life to the lingering looks that slowly turn a pretend relationship into something deep and real. Their romance is filled with tenderness, longing, playful moments, emotional tension, and the kind of devotion that makes your heart ache in the best way. 🌙✨
For me, they are one of the most beautiful and unforgettable C-drama couples I have ever seen. They prove that real love is not only found in grand confessions—it is found in choosing each other again and again, even when life becomes complicated, dangerous, and uncertain. 💞
Are You the One is the kind of drama that quietly finds its way into your heart… and then refuses to leave. Honestly, it moves in, redecorates, and starts paying emotional rent with butterflies. 🦋🏡✨

An endearing and energetic drama
If the production had felt and looked a little more sophisticated, this show would have been flawless. The script is filled with a well-balanced mix of feel-good and sincerely emotional moments depicting the struggles of young adults making ends meet and the change of hearts of the wealthier guys in a highly competitive, performance-driven, capitalistic society such as South Korea, while avoiding tear-jerking pittfalls (on that score, I doubt the main female character, hoping to move to the US, would have found greener pastures over there...).The cast ensemble drama builds up remarkably well over the 16-episode span, and the evolution of the relationship between the two main characters is so well-timed - for once - that it should be commended. The two main leads (Go Kyung Pyo and Chae Soo Bin) fit their lovable characters seamlessly and deliver: all emotional scenes never seemed off-key, especially the more tricky ones where they end up as a sobbing mess, they still felt right. Yes, a slightly more nuanced character for Oh Jin Gyu (Kim Seon Ho) would have been welcome, as the guy constantly oscillates between full-on jerk and well-meaning guy. Secondary characters never felt dispensable, keeping some form of depth or charm without trying too hard and some of them provided nice comic scenes which didn't feel too forceful.
The show never aims to be more than what it is: refreshing, character-driven and energetic and it gives it a genuine feeling which kept me into it from start to finish. The transition between plot lines was seamless.
I was, for once, very pleasantly surprised by the slightly pop-rock soundtrack, with the infectious "Cartoon Romance", serving as a recurring theme, definitely underlining the slightly 1990s vibe of the drama (save smartphones and jean cuts).
