Our Sticky Love — A Warm, Comforting Story That Knows When Not to Rush

I just finished watching Our Sticky Love, and honestly, it was such a soothing and comforting drama. The story was beautifully written, with characters and relationships that felt warm, natural, and easy to connect with.

One thing I especially loved was how the drama didn't simply end when the main story was resolved. Instead, it took the time to show the characters' daily lives afterward—the little moments, adjustments, and continuation of their relationships. For me, that made the ending feel much more meaningful. Life doesn't suddenly stop after the big confession, the conflict, or the happily-ever-after moment, and I appreciated that the drama understood that.

I've seen some people complain that the drama was too long, but I think that depends on what you're looking for. If you watch K-dramas mainly for lavish lifestyles, exaggerated melodrama, shocking twists, and constant chaos, then maybe this isn't the drama for you. And honestly, that's okay.

You could simply stop after episode 9 if you feel the story has given you what you wanted.

But there's no need to complain about a drama for being slow, gentle, and interested in the everyday lives of its characters when that's exactly what makes it special. Not every story needs unnecessary twists or dramatic disasters just to keep things exciting.

Sometimes, it's nice to simply stay with the characters a little longer—and Our Sticky Love does that beautifully. 🤍

Ridiculous nonsense

I love fantasy dramas, except for this one. What a mess! The storyline is all over the place, mostly boring and greatly confusing. The story starts out somewhat interesting but within a few episodes it goes downhill. We have a female character Li Fei, who is good at absolutely nothing, yet she gets into the prestigious Academy and cult, and of course all the male members are in deep Love with her. Heck, she even wins a tournament over thousands of talented participants with no skills at all. OH Please.....why insulting your viewers intelligence over and over again?
Then we have the ML who is supposed to be a once in a Century genius/talent with great powers and yet who is the only one who constantly gets hurt throughout the whole show. Heck, he even gets killed once. Constant hurt, treatments, hurt, treatment, more injuries, more treatments...on and on it goes . The same theme recurring throughout the whole show over and over and over again, few hand moves ML gets hurt, spitting blood, more hand moves FL gets hurt, spitting blood then someone else get hurt, then a whole clan get hurt, spitting blood and more of the same. Extremely boring and senseless. Also very confusing with all the different secs and different people with different level of powers and yet somehow, the most powerful get beaten by pretty much everybody i.e. the Demon Lord and also Li Fei almot always get injured.
There is absolutely no substance or meaning to most of the scenes, then all the bad guys who already got killed they all come back to life and hand out more hurts. then they get eliminated again and back again...over and over. No romance, no intelligent plots or interesting storyline to hold the viewer's attention.
If it wasn't for one of my favorite actors ( Song Wei Long) I would have dropped this mess a long time ago.
Good things hence my 3 points:
Beautiful scenery, great visuals
Gorgeous set designs and period costumes
Great music
Very professional, talented cast
Hard working crew despite of the messy script and lack of a great directors' vision to bring this story to life.
Don't waste your precious time on this, probably one of the worst fantasy dramas I have seen in awhile.
Definitely NOT a rewatch.

⭐ Underrated Gem!

Melody of Golden Age is honestly such an underrated
C-drama! 🥰 Despite the female lead being annoying at times and her best friend REALLY testing my patience 😂
I still found myself thoroughly enjoying this drama.

The mystery and investigation storyline kept things interesting and I especially loved watching the relationship between Shen Du and Yan Xing slowly develop.
Ding Yuxi was fantastic as Shen Du, and the chemistry between the leads made the drama even more enjoyable.

It may not be perfect and there were definitely moments that made me want to scream at the FL and her best friend but somehow the drama still managed to keep me hooked until the end.

Definitely one of those C-dramas that deserves more attention. If you skipped it when it aired in 2024, give it a chance! It’s much better than the attention it received.

The drama is mostly wholesome, particularly in how it highlights non-traditional family dynamics. The two father figures step up wonderfully to support the children, showing that family is defined by who shows up and listens rather than blood ties.

The contrast in the children’s upbringings brings them closer together rather than pulling them apart. The bond among the three lead characters carries the emotional weight of the series, balancing warm sibling dynamics with subtle romantic tension. I was deeply moved by the patience the characters show toward their elders, but equally impressed when they stand up for their own feelings. The show captures the complexity of parenthood—showing sacrificial, selfish, and well-meaning but emotionally distant parents—and serves as a gentle reminder that love requires active listening and understanding.

What frustrated me, however, was the handling of Ling Xiao's mother. Her character arc felt deeply manipulative, and her refusal to take genuine accountability or offer a sincere apology for her past actions made her scenes hard to watch. Playing the victim without acknowledging harm felt like emotional manipulation rather than true remorse.

Overall, the drama is deeply effective and emotionally resonant. It serves as a poignant reminder that loving someone isn't just a feeling—it requires accountability, listening, and putting other people's feelings first.

Mature, Restrained Romance

I should start by saying I enjoyed the series, but at the end I found myself saying "What a strange show!" They don't make too many TV shows like this. It's clearly a romance first and foremost, but the two leads are so sensible and restrained, especially the female lead, that everything is very calm and understated. In other words, it really doesn't feel like most of the romances I've watched.

If you're looking for something that will sweep you off your feet, then this is probably not for you. On the other hand, I guess women find Leo Wu attractive, so the show at least follows that norm.

Some nitpicks? A couple of the secondary relationships were much less interesting. The FL was competent enough that she really should have been able to break off from her old employer about midway through the show, which is the source of some tension that felt a bit tiresome. Nothing here is a dealbreaker, if you're looking for something a little more mature than the average romance.

Lee Hyeri and Hwang In-youp's Off-the-Charts Chemistry Makes Dream To You a Must-Watch

Dream To You is a thrilling emotional rollercoaster that pairs a deeply moving storyline with swoon-worthy romance and top-tier cast chemistry. Lee Hyeri and Hwang In-youp display over-the-roof chemistry as Yijae and Soobin, delivering heart-fluttering, elevated romantic scenes that genuinely leave you blushing. Their connection is grounded in a heartwarming childhood backstory—where Yijae's early passion for film directing inspires Soobin, who later returns that same creative fuel and encouragement right back to her as they grow up. The script smartly handles their initial tension by addressing and resolving their past misunderstanding early on rather than letting it drag out unnecessarily. Beyond the main pair, the show excels in its multi-layered family dynamics and intertwined plot twists, striking a balance between heartbreaking angst, scary tension, and warm affection across the main, second, and third lead couples. While the final stretch introduces a late-stage conflict that resolves a bit too abruptly—leaving viewers craving a deeper look into their future lives—the incredible acting across the entire ensemble makes this a thoroughly captivating and unforgettable drama.

Title: Chao Jia Hou Ta Jiao Ru Gu, Zhan Shen Wang Ye Pian Yao Chong (2025) aka "After the House Was Raided, She Was Extremely Delicate (2025)" is a nice crossdressing fantasy romance set within a historical era with ML: Zhang Chi (as Prince Jing / Long Jing Xiu) and FL: Zhi Chunhe (as Duanmu Xu Qing) in the leading couple's roles. The drama also has a justice seeking subplot to redeem the female lead's family from wrongdoing. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had good affinity and fine chemistry. The drama also has some quite funny moments mainly from Prince Jing's assistant Long Duan Chong played by Dai Ting Rui. Overall, this is a nice and entertaining drama; enjoy it!

I recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a serious story.

When the Phone Rings is exceedingly well acted. Both extreme and subtle emotion are portrayed with skill. The main characters are both sympathetic people doing the best they can with their circumstances, and you feel for them.

While complex and twisty, the plot is self-consistent and ultimately reasonable. The motivations of everyone involved, all the many secondary characters, make sense and feel real.

I enjoyed watching When the Phone Rings and recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a more serious story.
The one irritating sub-plot occurs near the end. I won't say more than it didn't feel in line with the characters actions up to that point.

Lobo não come lobo, come ovelha...

Que perfeição, enrolei até o último minuto para terminar este pq não queria me despedir.
Tudo aqui é bom, personagens, roteiro, direção, atuação e o que mais se destacou para mim, a trilha sonora! Só de ouvir uns segundos já sabia quem iria aparecer ou se teria grandes emoções e digo q todos os eps trouxeram grande emoções.
Aqui vemos claramente oq seria um lobo e uma ovelha na sociedade humana, e como disse no título, lobo não come lobo. Aqui vemos o Yo Han, Ga On e a juíza Oh tentando fazer o papel de pastores sem perceber que tbm são ovelhas mas o maior engano foi o da Seona, ela achava que era um lobo por agir como um... Amo como todos eles são complexos e tem suas causas e convicções. The Devil Judge é CINEMA, e não falarei mais pq acho q não consigo expressar td oq sinto sobre eles.

Obs: Enemy Of Truth será minha trilha sonora por um tempo pois não sai da minha cabeça.

another great potential ruined by bad writing

Before I start, let me just say: a lot of the negative comments are just people complaining for no reason. You signed up for a story about a psycho who has no empathy for others and sees them as tools. You can't get mad when the psycho proceeds to do exactly that.

The Story

It started promisingly, dancing around a gray area. At first, sure, she's manipulative, but she only did evil things to the people who wronged her (mom, dad, high-school bully). But then she starts doing it to innocent people. Which is fine, as long as the show doesn't try to paint her as anything other than a psycho.

And that's where everything falls apart.

All the show had to do was to say, "HEY, PEOPLE, THIS IS HOW A PSYCHOPATH BEHAVES. THIS IS HOW A PSYCHOPATH TRIES TO JUSTIFY THEIR OWN ACTIONS."

But instead, they foolishly tried to create a sympathetic villain out of an evil, pragmatic extremist.

Sure, she went through a lot and deserves sympathy, but depending on the harm you cause, that sympathy eventually goes away. The show tried to consistently blur the line between good and bad and keep us in the gray area, but failed to see that there was no gray area left to dance around.

It turned completely black.

The Logic (or Lack Thereof)

For a character like the FL, you have to make her super smart and calculating for it to work. But instead, she just "gambled" multiple times and got lucky.

(Killing Dad / getting out of prison / a walking retcon saving her after the in-gang death.)

For example, a smart character would be extremely cautious about getting caught. Send the dad to prison for a few years, just like Jun-seo wanted. Then you have five years to pay someone to safely kill him in there.

Long story short, the logic wasn't logic-ing. Everything and everyone just fell into place through some magical power so the story could continue.

I know you're gonna get mad at me for this, but he did it to himself.

Yeah, she was a psycho who tried to manipulate him, and he had a rough situation with his father and all, but, like, bro... she hugged him once and he was like:

"I ONLY EXIST FOR YOU. YOUR ENEMIES ARE MY ENEMIES. I WILL SERVE YOU, MY QUEEN, UNTIL THE END OF THE EARTH. USE ME AS YOU WILL." :|

He simped too close to the sun.

He was a simp and died like one. Pathetic.

The other guy at least scored some.

The Ending

Once they were in the car at the end, I could see four possible endings. It's impressive how the writers chose the absolute worst one.

1. She and Jun-seo go and live together quietly somewhere. (Second-best ending)

This ending is possible for two reasons.

First, they showed us signs of her being willing to stop (the grandma and marriage situation).

Second, there's what she said to Jun-seo: "I won't be sad if you get hurt, but I don't want to be the one who causes you harm." Something along those lines.

She obviously would remain a psycho in this scenario, but she would have no choice but to stop harming others because she would have to harm Jun-seo and get him out of the way first.

2. Jun-seo succeeds in killing them both. (Best ending in terms of storytelling, IMO)

But, of course, the guy can't do anything right.

3. She survives. (Third place)

Jun-seo's death makes her want to stop. She goes somewhere and lives quietly (not because she's forced to, but because she actually wants to).

4. She survives and everything was meaningless. (Worst ending)

This is the ending we got.

She hasn't changed a bit. She frees her hand from Jun-seo with resentment (twice). Not even a fraction of a change after everything that happened.

She goes somewhere and lives quietly (not because she wants to, but because she has to).

And she'll still cause harm to others if the situation presents itself.

Honest and Respectful

To be honest, as someone retired, who has been involved in the counseling field, I had my doubts for a short time, that this would be another drama that would hype up the sensationalism and make a mockery out of the professional aspect and of the issues themselves.
First of all, I remembered that this exceptionally versatile performer, Nakajima Kento, has always been intelligent, insightful, perceptive, dedicated to being the best version of himself, honored his craft and his fanbase. So before even viewing this, I already knew he would bring intelligence, respect, honesty, sensitivity, warmth, and the best version of himself to this role. Nakajima accomplished that, and much more.
This was no easy feat, especially in a culture where sex, intimacy is taboo, and seeking help, is also not approached, so I have the deepest respect and admiration for the whole production team, direction and the extraordinary performances of every single actor who bravely took on this project and gave it their all.
Nakajima Kento, as always, didn't disappoint, as this multi-talented wonder does not in the projects he tackles.

"You never miss the water 'til the well runs dry"

Dead Pigs directed by Cathy Yan connected several stories under the backdrop of a mass die off of pigs similar to the real-life deaths and dumping of 16,000 pigs in the Huangpo river near Shanghai. This film was not nearly as dire as that, instead it was focused on capitalist expansion at the expense of traditional neighborhoods with side stories of romance and comedy. Who knew Shanghai was a place where people could break into song as the bulldozers raged?

Old Wang is a pig farmer who loses his life savings to a scam artist. To add insult to injury his pigs die. Loan sharks do not care about his predicament, they just want their money. He goes to his sister, Candy/Zhao Di, for a loan, but she refuses him. She’s fighting a development company who wants to build a large Spanish inspired apartment complex complete with a cathedral. Candy and her pigeons are the last holdouts. Wang Zhen has led his father to believe that he has been successful in business, but instead he is a waiter at a restaurant barely making ends meet. He falls for a bored, wealthy young woman who is surrounded by arrogant, social climbers. And finally, Sean Landry is the architect of the ostentatious apartment complex and charged with changing the Wangs’ minds.

The film was filled with people who believed they were not good enough. Old Wang’s life was a struggle which he managed to make worse. He envied the pigs’ life of leisure not taking into account the price they paid for it. Zhen hurt because he wasn’t able to help his father more. Xia Xia dealt with disconnection from family and friends. When she was hospitalized only a stranger visited her. Sean failed at architecture in the U.S. but had a second chance in China. Another ex-patriate gave him a side gig of playing various westerners for companies. In some ways he felt like the random white guy thrown into this film. And finally, Candy was supremely confident in herself but could not bear to leave her family’s home and neighborhood. Even though the neighbors had all been bought out she clung to her memories of what had been.

The porcine pollution highlighted how it was cheaper and more expedient to dump the pigs in the river than go through the proper government channels. Some farmers did not want to invite official attention into their businesses. It looked like they showed actual news footage of the clean up and real or fake pigs in the water. If you are sensitive to these types of images-beware.

The wealthy made life harder on the middle class and poor, able to buy whatever they wanted including their way of out trouble. Old Wang ended up with crushing debt in the desire to get rich quick. Sean tried to pitch that the new apartment complex was progress, making homes available to the people who needed them…the needy wealthy. The displaced could never hope to live in the luxury apartments. The cinematography and music along with solid acting made for an enticing film to watch. Vivian Wu gave an especially entertaining performance. My biggest complaint was that it was too long, numerous scenes were repetitive. “Important” themes don’t have to be repeated and film length doesn’t equate with quality.

I looked at this film through western eyes and likely missed much. Though gentrification and corporations buying homes are problems for all but the upper class here. Small family farms are a dying breed as multi-conglomerates gobble them up. Dead Pig’s stories were ultimately woven together, showing that greed can’t completely break the human spirit and that family and friendship mean something greater than things or property. And when you’re lucky a moment of spiritual triumph can be accompanied by song. (7.75 rounded up to an 8.0)

from fake family to real family

The acting was really good and the chemistry between the male and female leads were great. It was a pity that there wasn't any romance between them because they had so much potential as a couple. The little kid was absolutely adorable and honestly too cute for this world🥹

I also really liked the family dynamic. Even though they weren't actually related, pretending to be a family brought them so close together that they eventually became a real family in every way that mattered. Their bond was honestly one of my favorite parts of the drama

The whole plot was pretty unique and different from what i usually see, which made the drama really enjoyable. I also loved the ending. It was surprisingly wholesome, especially seing the male lead leave his gangster life behind and build a successful life for himself. Overall, it was a really nice watch.
