Death of Movies

30 movies in under 2 hours! I didn’t actually count them, and it was hard to stay fully concentrated, so I watched this omnibus film over four sittings. Still, I can say there are a lot of short films here, each one unique, even though they share some similarities.

The first thing that stands out is that most of the shorts, feature two people in conversation and interaction. Many of them also mention or show the number 30, and they are directly or indirectly connected to movies. Each of the 30 short films speaks about the art of cinema — either directly or in an allegorical way through symbols and different filmmaking techniques. They highlight both the challenges of making and watching movies, as well as the reasons to give them another chance.

I liked how each segment feels different and original. The actors were very good, but there’s only so much they can do in under three minutes. Such short stories can have an impact, but they are just too short. In a collection this large (30 films one after another), many of them tend to blend together and lose their individual strength.

Is there any special segment I will remember? Writing this a month after watching i can say that I remember the first short with the woman writing a movie script, the priest chewing gum for three seconds, and the one with the woman with a sword. I can recall a couple more, but many of the shorts were simply too experimental and confusing to remember in the long run.

Una historia que duele, pero que también inspira

A Resistance es de esas películas que terminan y te dejan unos minutos pensando en lo que acabas de ver. No es una película fácil de mirar, porque cuenta una historia marcada por la injusticia, el dolor y la crueldad, pero al mismo tiempo habla de algo muy poderoso: la resistencia de una persona que se niega a renunciar a sus ideales.

La película nos presenta a Yoo Kwan-sun, una joven que participa en el movimiento independentista coreano durante la ocupación japonesa. Después de ser arrestada, es encarcelada y sometida a situaciones terriblemente duras. Sin embargo, lo que más me impactó no fue solamente todo lo que tuvo que soportar, sino la manera en que, incluso en medio de ese sufrimiento, conserva su determinación.

Creo que uno de los mayores aciertos de la película es que no intenta convertir a Yoo Kwan-sun en una heroína perfecta. La vemos sufrir, tener miedo y enfrentarse a momentos de desesperación. Eso hace que su valentía se sienta mucho más humana y, precisamente por eso, más fuerte.

La actuación de Go Ah-sung me pareció excelente. Hay momentos en los que no necesita decir demasiado para transmitir lo que siente. Sus expresiones, sus silencios y la forma en que interpreta el cansancio y el dolor hacen que sea muy fácil conectar con el personaje.

También me gustó mucho la atmósfera de la película. Es bastante sobria y, en algunos momentos, fría y claustrofóbica, algo que funciona muy bien para transmitir la sensación de estar atrapada en una prisión. No busca hacer que todo se vea bonito; al contrario, muchas escenas resultan incómodas y difíciles de observar, pero creo que esa incomodidad es parte de lo que hace que la historia tenga impacto.

Personalmente, lo que más me dejó A Resistance fue pensar en lo fácil que es dar por sentadas cosas como la libertad y poder expresar lo que uno piensa. Yoo Kwan-sun era muy joven y, aun así, tuvo que enfrentarse a circunstancias que ninguna persona debería vivir. Su historia demuestra que la valentía no significa no tener miedo, sino continuar a pesar de tenerlo.

No diría que es una película para ver buscando entretenimiento ligero. Es triste, dura y por momentos bastante dolorosa. Pero justamente por eso creo que vale la pena verla. Más que contar solamente la historia de una joven, consigue hacer que el espectador recuerde que detrás de los acontecimientos históricos existieron personas reales, con sueños, miedo y esperanza.

Es una película que duele, pero también deja admiración. Y creo que ese es precisamente su mayor logro.

Surprising hit of suspense and romance

Surprisingly, I like this drama. The reason is the FL & ML. Wow the chemistry!!! They both acted really well too, especially the FL. I wish more romance storyline was developed to give the ML more screen time!
I am not interested in the girls influencers. But learned some aspects about them. I have seen some K influencers in real life instagram so now I understand the perspective.

Very good drama. I just wish for a more dimensional development and not so many flashbacks and forth. It's confusing. I understand that they purposely did that to creative the confusion and suspense that she was killed. BUT come on! The FL can't be killed when there are 3 episodes left!! Give me a break!

But despite everything, still giving this drama high rating because I enjoyed watching it. I finished in 1 day !!!

cute romance kdrama

I enjoyed this drama. I’ve been seeing it around and I did want to pick it up, but whatever reason I didn’t watch it live however I did binge it within a few days ..

Overall, the drama was really good and I thought it was quite well paced. I will say by the end of the drama I was getting a bit annoyed by Go Eun-sae’s laugh I felt like it came across quite superficial and fake by the end it was cute to start with but maybe it needed a bit more depth..

I thought it was such a shame the way his dad obviously had issues and the way he found out who his dad was was just so K-trauma I was waiting for that inevitable white truck moment to be honest with that relationship.. I really liked Grandma. I like the actress in anything I watch and I was so so worried that she was gonna have another hometown cha-cha-cha moment thank goodnesssssss she got a happy ever after because I don’t think I could’ve handled if anything had happened to her!

I know that dad was a bad guy, but at the same time, I don’t know whether I would’ve liked him to be the bad guy in prison that got to know his son you know? But I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the storyline personally.

Loved the drama would recommend.

Reincarnation, an endless loop, or something completely different?

*Meet in Infinite Love* (2025) had an interesting concept, but for me, the storyline left **far too many unanswered questions**, especially surrounding the ML and what was actually happening to him.

The beginning gives us very little explanation for the ML's behavior. At first, his actions can be confusing and even frustrating because we don't understand what is motivating him. It isn't until the second half that we finally get more information and begin to understand why he was acting the way he was toward the FL. Once that was revealed, I could look back at some of his earlier actions differently.

However, that explanation created even more questions.

How exactly did the FL appear again and give him this second chance? Did the ML kill himself after losing her and somehow get reborn? Was he sent back in time? Or was he simply given another opportunity to change what happened?

The drama never made that clear enough for me.

Then there is an even bigger question: if this was his second chance, how did he already know the FL was going to die again? He seems to know what is coming and eventually takes her place, sacrificing himself so that she can live. Emotionally, I liked this development because it showed just how deeply the ML loved her and how far he was willing to go to change her fate.

But then comes the ending.

After dying in her place, we see him wake up in bed with her, almost mirroring what happened to him before. That immediately raises another question: Has the cycle started again?

If so, was this actual reincarnation, time travel, an endless loop, or something completely different?

I don't mind a drama leaving a little mystery for viewers to interpret, but there is a difference between an intentionally mysterious ending and simply leaving important pieces of the story unexplained.

The ML's emotional journey and sacrifice were the strongest parts for me, and once his motivations were revealed, his character became much more interesting. Unfortunately, the story surrounding him felt a little all over the place.

Meet in Infinite Love had a fascinating idea and an emotional ML, but I finished it with more questions than answers.

Maybe “Infinite Love” really does mean infinite—because these two might be stuck doing this forever!😂❤️

Monkey see Monkey stalk

What is it about History 3 & not letting our characters live in peace? Make Our Days Count had me ugly crying & this series just left me unsatisfied.

Before I get into that, the acting was fine. I haven't seen Jake in anything before, so I don't know how in-depth he was with his character, but everything about Meng felt ridiculous. I couldn't take him seriously. The way he looked, walked, spoke, & behaved had me laughing. His existence alone was enough to make me laugh at first. Was he meant to be the comic relief? No idea, but it's what he ended up being. The only characters I hated were the two girl characters because they acted too entitled toward Meng & Tang Yi. Protective is fine, but telling them to stop seeing someone & actively trying to put a stop to it is pushing things a bit too far.

Kenny's flexibility was impressive, and I'm sad that we only got to see it a couple of times.

Now the plot is what made me really feel unsatisfied. We have this case that happened four years ago, and Meng and Tang Yi are trying to uncover the truth. Along the way, we learn that a LOT of people are not who they say they are or are doing shady things behind the scenes. I honestly wasn't surprised by any of that, and the big parent reveal at the end felt less like a reveal and more like an "oh they finally caught up" moment. But the most unsatisfying part was them just dropping that Tang Yi is most definitely going to prison, but we don't know on what charges, what evidence, or for how long. Meng said he would wait for him, and that's all well and good, but for how long? It's not like Meng has a safe job. What if Meng dies before Tang Yi is released? They should have at least given us a time skip to show that they are together again after Tang Yi becomes a free man. They tortured us with 2 episodes in Make Our Days Count after what happened; they could have at least given us 10 minutes here & wrapped things up cleanly.

If I'm going to watch a crime show, I want all the facts laid out, and I don't want loose ends in the case or the relationships.

The pacing was also slow at times and then would be very fast in others. It didn't help when they brought in other potential love interests for our main characters & we had to deal with unfounded jealousy. There is also 1 flashback that we see different parts of in 3 different episodes, because we apparently didn't need to see it all at once. Overall, I would say the pacing is good for this kind of show, but a couple of parts did drag a bit.

Also, Meng got hurt so many times, and each time it felt like he healed by the next day. I know that multiple days, if not weeks, passed, but the point is it didn't feel like it.

My favorite thing was Jack and Zhao's relationship. It was like Jack was taking care of an excited puppy that he found interesting at first & that interest turned into attraction. I wish we had gotten to see more of them, or at least their internal thoughts or struggles with falling for each other. Though Jack does seem like the person who would just go for it if he liked someone. They also had decent enough chemistry, whereas our main couple felt lacking.

İ watched this series on the span of 2 months because i was so busy with no free time and also because i was in a drama slump.

First the story is great and i love how they were very faithful to the webtoon, i wasn't that excited when i knew it's a thai adaptation tbh, but i was wrong, they nailed it.

Acting from the two leads was great, i can't believe their ages tbh, they are so young, specially the guy playing Jay, he is what? 22, 23?? And he nailed the role, easy.

Some sude characters could have been better, but generally they were ok.
İ won't say much cause everyone already sing their praises, but it's a generally well made showbwith good cast and interesting characters.

Just a Bunch of Cute Youngins Running all Over the Place Throwing Punches and Flying Kicks

I started watching expecting something along Highschool Gangster or Study Group of sorts, but was met with a complete nothingness instead. The FL was supposed to be some kickass grumpy loner who only strikes when she’s being badgered first, but fell easily to the bullies’ trap in the final arc, just so her sidekicks the two male students could come for her rescue just to be thrashed all over. The ML was supposed to be some big ass name in the school, revered and feared by even the school bullies (well he’s in the bully group so yeah) so much that even the local gangster wants him joining the gang, but yet again he’s so easily beaten up to a pulp after executing just a few flashy moves. The only one who gets to use what he learnt from the karate dojo was the SML, before he too gets beaten to a pulp. So I guess the whole point here is to turn the badass FL into damsel-in-distress, get her rescued then have her beat the crap out of the bullies. At least she’s the only one who came out without so much of a scratch. Bruises under the shirt maybe, but no visible scratch.

There’s no storyline at all. It’s just a bunch of kids playing school hooligans trying to beat some money out of the weak kids so they can pay the entrance fee to the local gangster while all the adults are nonexistent whatsoever. Lousy script, lousy plot. But at least their acting is better than that of The Mayhem.

A Darker Love Story Than I Expected

I genuinely had no idea what I was getting into with Love for You. I knew it was darker, but I definitely wasn’t expecting a full-on melodramatic thriller. I thought I was getting two people falling in love during a very toxic period of their lives, but it ended up being so much deeper than that, with fraud, revenge, family trauma, sacrifice, and a surprisingly solid plot. Honestly, I think this is such an underrated drama—but it’s definitely not for everyone.

First of all, this is easily my favorite Song Weilong performance. I’ve watched him in so many dramas, and this is the most natural and impressive I’ve ever seen him. For the first time, I never had those moments where I could feel him acting; he completely became the character. I also realized that he suits darker, tougher, slightly bad-boy melodramatic characters SO much more than the typical CEO role. Those sad, emotionally heavy scenes are made for him. His acting genuinely blew me away and was probably one of the biggest highlights of the entire drama for me. My only wish is that they had pushed his character even further into the darkness. I would’ve loved to see more of his psychological struggles, depression, and the effects of his past. That would’ve been far more interesting to me than some of the storylines we actually got.

And Zhang Jingyi—OH MY GOD, she is GORGEOUS. Once she became an adult, I genuinely could not take my eyes off her. Her acting was also beautiful. I know her character probably pissed a lot of people off, and maybe with another actress she would’ve annoyed me too, but it’s Jingyi, so she can do whatever she wants 😭. I actually liked how determined and head-on she was. She knew what she wanted and went after it instead of waiting around for someone else. She reminded me so much of her character in Lighter & Princess, which I loved, and honestly both leads gave me little Lighter & Princess vibes with their characters.

And THE CHEMISTRY. Easily one of the show’s strongest points. I did not expect them to work this well together, but visually, acting-wise, chemistry-wise—they were so well suited. Their chemistry was off the charts without the drama needing to constantly throw romantic scenes at us. Their relationship is built much more around being each other’s support system than conventional romance, and I actually loved that. It’s less “I love you, you love me” and more about what they’re willing to do for each other. Though I wish we saw more of them together, cause they were on fire together.

Especially him. I feel like the entire show is basically built around him sacrificing himself for her. Almost everything he ever does is ultimately about taking care of her. Even when he goes to the darker side and joins Ben, part of it is because he wants money for her tuition. Again and again, he puts her before himself, and I loved how his love was expressed through his actions and sacrifices. That being said, these two REALLY needed to learn how to communicate 😭.

I obviously wasn’t a fan of the sibling aspect, especially because the first part leans much more heavily into that dynamic. But I think the drama handled the transition better than I expected. Eventually, I stopped really feeling like they were brother and sister and saw it more as two people who had spent their lives supporting and protecting each other. The latter half definitely worked much better for me in that regard.

Plot-wise, I was genuinely surprised by how much was going on. I expected more of a “life happens” kind of story, but suddenly we’re dealing with fraud, revenge, schemes, auditing, etc. 😭 The revenge plot was actually interesting, and I was rarely bored—although the second they started talking about auditing, they lost me. This isn’t really a drama you watch purely for cute romance or something chill. It’s for people who enjoy darker melodrama, complicated relationships, revenge, and a story with more depth.

My biggest problem is that it was simply too long. This could’ve easily been around 28 episodes and been much tighter. The episodes surrounding the mother’s return were by far the weakest for me. I was bored, and honestly, I didn’t think she deserved the justice/redemption she got after everything she did to her daughter. I especially didn’t like that she was forgiven. I would’ve happily traded that entire storyline for a deeper exploration of Song Weilong’s character and his psychological struggles. Once the drama moved past that and returned to the revenge plot, though, it picked up again.

The writing also wasn’t always as polished as it could’ve been. There were quite a few threads and ideas introduced where I kept thinking, Why did you put this here if you’re never going to explain or explore it? The drama opens several doors and then just leaves them there. Even the actual revenge payoff became unnecessarily confusing and, in my opinion, wasn’t written particularly well. And the police were basically background support 😭. If they had actually done their jobs properly, this drama would’ve ended much earlier.

One character I absolutely loved, though, was Uncle Zhu. His storyline with Wenwen genuinely broke my heart. It felt like almost everyone eventually got some form of happy ending except him. I also loved his relationship with Chen and Miao Jing. Because neither of them really grew up with supportive parents, he became this parental figure in their lives, along with Wenwen, and there was something so beautiful and heartbreaking about that.

I also have to give the drama credit for its final episode. They actually gave the story room to breathe and wrapped everything up calmly instead of suddenly speed-running the ending, which I really appreciated. It felt like they gave the drama the ending it deserved.

Overall, there’s a lot to love here: great characters, no unnecessary love triangle, insane chemistry, beautiful cinematography and costumes, amazing OSTs—especially the songs by the actors—and some of the best acting I’ve seen from these leads. It’s darker and much more melodramatic than I expected, but it was still very entertaining and never felt particularly difficult to watch.

I would definitely recommend Love for You, but to the right audience. If you’re coming purely for a fluffy romance or rom-com, this is probably not it. The romance is absolutely there, but it’s expressed more through sacrifice, protection, support, and simply being there for each other. At its core, this feels just as much like an action-thriller/revenge melodrama as it does a romance.

It has its flaws, it could’ve been shorter and tighter, and some storylines desperately needed more development—but overall, this was a surprisingly solid, emotional, and underrated drama that gave me something completely different from what I expected.

Great storyline but poor execution

I actually really like the storyline and how it get revealed but I feel like the last couple of episodes were a drag. I think the main leads had chemistry despite his character being such a red flag especially in the beginning however as we got to the last couple of episodes I simply lost interest.

I really enjoyed watching her build up her career in makeup and hairstyling as we could see her put in the work. If anything I think that was my favourite aspect of the whole show.

Overall I think this show would've benefited from cutting back the episodes and making it a 25 episode show. It was honestly the last five episodes dragging it down.

I love BoatOat but..

I was really looking forward to this show. I love BoatOat and you know they DELIVER spicy scenes and chemistry, honestly one of the spiciest couples out there. But they need a new director/ writter. A lot of scenes in this show are so weird. A lot of standing around while characters stare at each other, a lot of dialogue that starts so randomly and doesnt make much sense, a lot of scene jumps... episode progression is so weird.
For example im watching ep6 now and when Phatsa's dad calls ont he phone, next scene they're talking in the bedroom (we just jumped to that scene), talking about Alpha and Omega and dialougue makes no sense in the begining.
Theres a lot of overly dramatised reactions for no reason, like Phatsa's dad reaction to finding out he's a bitten omega- he starts crying, like wtf. Its not the end of the world. Or Boat (forgot character name) dad being so pissed for no reason while the rest of the family is chill.

10 stars for spicy scenes tho, we get good ampunt of them lol.

Excellent psychological series!

I was curious about this series and i waited until all the episode is up. Because i was watching another drama and there's no way i will be able to watch it. This drama is really dark and very entertaining. All the actors are amazing. Sun li as yang ling did a fantastic job portraying a character that has been manipulated and had gone through a lot. That uncle is a pervert he groom her into his side hustle. But when she's no longer young he dispose her and lead her to believe no one wants her. Even the mom blame her when her father died.

This series is one of my top drama of 2026.
Looking forward to season 2!

Contest for how many tropes can be used in 12 ep

This series was very mixed for me. If you’re someone who can ignore plot holes and not think too hard about the overarching story, there’s plenty to enjoy. But if sloppy writing bothers you, prepare to be bothered.

Park Eun‑bin is one of my favorite actors, so I’ll watch anything she’s in. Unfortunately, this series didn’t live up to her abilities. It genuinely felt like the writer was competing in a contest to see how many drama tropes could be shoehorned into a single 12‑episode run. I made a list—and I’m sure I still missed a few:

Corrupt politician
Corrupt prosecutor
Corrupt chaebols
Family fight for corporate control
Love triangle
Fake engagement turning into real love
Opposites attract
Crime‑solving romance
“Only you understand me” emotional bond
Trauma‑driven powers
Heart transplant from former love

Using many tropes isn’t inherently a problem, but here most of them were half‑hearted and never fleshed out. They felt included simply for the sake of inclusion.

That said, I did enjoy the series overall. The acting was excellent, and Park Eun‑bin and Yang Se‑jong had great chemistry. Their romance was the strongest part of the show. How they met, became involved, and grew into a couple was plausible (supernatural elements aside) and well paced. Ma Gang‑uk was definitely a green‑flag suitor.

The ghost plotline started strong, supported the romance well, and gave the series a solid foundation—but it fizzled out midway through. Maybe the writers wanted to avoid comparisons to Phantom Lawyer, but they could have kept the ghosts more involved in the second half. Thankfully, the supernatural thread returned for the coma‑dream sequence, which was easily the best part of the finale.

Ong Seong‑wu made an excellent villain. His romantic‑rival storyline was weak and deeply flawed, but his transformation into a full antagonist was performed extremely well.

The fashion was fantastic. Park Eun‑bin’s wardrobe was gorgeous, and she looked beautiful throughout. Her hair color was also perfect for her.

The romance wrap‑up was fine—not great, but not the worst I’ve seen. The final scene was the standard “together with a hint of future family,” but the epilogue blooper reel was a delight.

Now for the negatives. Going through all the issues would turn this review into a novel, so here are just a few examples of the sloppy writing/production that irritated me:

Gang‑uk is a heart‑transplant recipient, yet when being treated after the car collision he is shown with a pristine chest. Open‑heart surgery leaves a very large scar.

Seung‑jae blackmails his politician father to get out of jail, but the next time he’s arrested, the lawyer claims his father has cut ties—even though all the blackmail material still exists and should still matter.

Most of Episode 11.
We start with the “break up to save them” trope due to family pressure, ignoring Gang‑uk’s feelings. My least favorite uses of one of my least favorite tropes.

Then the prosecution office politically targets Yeo‑ri with false accusations—despite her being heiress to the 5th‑largest corporation in Korea (making it a stupid move to antagonize her for no gain). They compound this by transferring her fiancé to a penalty posting for whistleblowing.

Yeo‑ri then goes alone, at night, to meet a murderer (Seung‑jae) in a secluded location. She finds him dead, picks up the obvious murder weapon, and is immediately discovered by police. She’s released that night despite being the prime suspect with solid evidence against her.

The finale of the episode crams in even more nonsense: Gang‑uk revisits the crime scene just as the real killer realizes he lost a cufflink. The killer somehow arranges for a thug to have a White Truck of Doom ready to run over whoever leaves the crime scene—despite not knowing whether the cufflink was actually found.

The massively powerful yet somehow extremely quiet truck accelerates from 0 to 50+ kph in 20 meters that separate them. Obviously, Gang‑uk doesn’t hear it because he’s must be deaf. Fortunately, Yeo‑ri arrives just in time to see the truck coming, hop out of her car, run 20 feet to push him out of the way with just enough time to stand upright with a deer-in-headlight look before getting hit herself. Too bad she didn't think to tackle him out of the way so both of them would have been safe.

The cherry on top: the police accept the driver’s excuse that he “fell asleep”—in late morning, in an industrial alley, after just starting the truck.

But aside from Episode 11, I did enjoy the series. It starred Park Eun‑bin, after all.
