Une romance sympa dans un drama qui manque clairment d'élan...

Avec "Tomorrow at Work", on fait la connaissance de Cha Ji-Yoon, une employée présente dans la même entreprise depuis plusieurs années. C'est une femme sérieuse, compétente et appréciée de ses collègues. Elle traverse une période compliquée... jusqu'au jour où elle se retrouve à travailler sous les ordres de Kang Si-Woo, un chef d'équipe aussi brillant qu'insupportable 😅.

Au premier abord, Si-Woo a tout du collègue qu'on préférerait éviter... franc, perfectionniste, parfois un peu cassant. Autant dire que leur collaboration démarre sous haute tension 🤣. Mais derrière cette façade froide se cache un homme bien plus attentionné qu'il n'en donne l'impression.

Je vais être honnête... si je suis allée jusqu'au bout, c'est avant tout grâce à eux ❤️.

Leur relation est clairement ce qui m'a le plus plu. Alors, ici on est loin d'un coup de foudre expédié en deux épisodes... Les sentiments prennent leur temps, ils se construisent au fil des discussions, des petites attentions... J'ai beaucoup aimé ce jeu de "sous-entendus" qui apporte énormément de douceur à leur romance.

Et puis... ça faisait longtemps... 🤣 Le drama assume pleinement les grands classiques de la rom-com : le parapluie, les rapprochements maladroits, les instants dans l'ascenseur... Des scènes qu'on connaît par cœur, mais qui fonctionnent toujours quand elles sont bien amenées 🫰🏻

Malheureusement, je trouve que la romance finit elle aussi par s'essouffler dans la seconde moitié... 😔 Une fois leurs blessures et leurs peurs installées, j'ai parfois eu l'impression que le drama répétait le même schéma... ils se rapprochent, doutent, prennent leurs distances... puis recommencent. À force, leur évolution perd un peu de son impact selon moi.

Ji-Yoon m'a également laissée un sentiment partagé au fils des épisodes... Je comprends complètement ses hésitations au vu de son passé et de ses blessures. En revanche, certaines de ses réactions m'ont parfois frustrée 😬. Elle dit accepter le passé de Si-Woo, puis semble finalement avoir du mal à composer avec une partie de celui-ci... Tout comme, elle affirme vouloir vivre pleinement leur relation avant de reprendre ses distances quelques instants plus tard... Bref, j'ai parfois eu du mal à suivre son évolution.

En revanche, tout ce qui gravite autour de leur histoire m'a beaucoup moins convaincue... 🤗 Les intrigues liées à l'entreprise avaient pourtant de quoi être intéressantes. Entre la rivalité des équipes, les histoires de sabotage, l'intelligence artificielle... il y avait matière à construire quelque chose de prenant. Pourtant, je ne me suis jamais vraiment sentie investie... J'avais la sensation que ces intrigues servaient surtout à remplir les épisodes plutôt qu'à enrichir l'histoire des personnages... 🤷🏼‍♀️

J'ai ressenti la même chose avec une bonne partie des personnages secondaires. Peu m'ont réellement marquée, à l'exception du père de Ji-Yoon ❤️. J'ai beaucoup aimé la relation qu'il entretient avec Si-Woo, leur amitié de longue date et ce lien presque "paternel" apportent un petit plus au drama. En revanche, toute l'intrigue autour de No-Ah ne m'a jamais vraiment embarquée... J'avais parfois l'impression qu'elle était là parce qu'il fallait ajouter une histoire supplémentaire... Franchement j'ai retrouvé ce sentiment à plusieurs reprises au fil des épisodes...

Je pense sincèrement que le drama aurait gagné à être un peu plus court. Son point fort réside clairement dans son couple principal, et j'aurais préféré qu'il se concentre davantage sur eux plutôt que de multiplier des intrigues professionnelles qui, au final, ne m'ont jamais passionnée.

La fin reste fidèle à ce que promet une rom-com, avec la traditionnelle demande en mariage qui vient conclure leur histoire 💍. C'est mignon, cohérent et ça referme correctement leur parcours.

Au final, "Tomorrow at Work" est une rom-com agréable, mais qui repose entièrement sur son couple principal. Si-Woo est sans hésiter le personnage qui m'a donné envie de poursuivre le drama, et sa relation avec Ji-Yoon offre de jolis moments grâce à son côté mature, réaliste et plein de douceur ❤️. En revanche, j'ai trouvé que tout ce qui entourait cette romance manquait de relief... Avec des intrigues professionnelles que j'ai trouvé peu captivante. Pour moi, la seconde moitié tourne en rond, et j'ai fini par ressentir un vrai manque de dynamisme.

Pour finir, je dirais que j'ai passé un petit moment sympa devant ce drama, mais je ressors avec ce sentiment qu'il avait le potentiel de proposer bien plus...✌🏻

Sizzling chemistry of enemies turned lovers, beautiful leads

Strong exciting start where we are plunged into the thick of the action, and the chemistry between the leads was electrifying. They really were two crazy heroes at the beginning, claws out at each other kind of vibe which slowly mellowed out to a beautiful pairing of love and understanding between them. It is especially satisfying to watch both of them as they were equally matched either in combat or intelligence, which was a nice contrast to other shows were the couples are also compatible, but not necessary both battle hardened.

However like what other reviewers mentioned, the interactions between Feng Xi Yang and Xia Jing Shi were so...bland. But then again he really was supposed to portray an utter lack of interest in her. At least the chemistry between Feng Xi Yang and Xia Jing Yan was crazily toxic but made for an engaging watch.

Plot wise was decent, the show keeps you engaged by trying to find out why the FL got injured and her relationship with Xia Jing Shi, then you get hooked by the chemistry between the FL and ML...and then the Feng Xi Yang arc comes in and the story tapers off a little and I had to skip some scenes which felt too draggy. Just fast forward those, with the added typical historical cdrama tropes just to highlight the bond between the leads...TLDR the show had a strong start which fizzled towards the middle to end of the series.

Set and costumes were pleasant on the eyes but nothing too spectacular, though some costumes worn by the leads were particularly stunning. I usually love the OSTs by Sa Ding Ding but the OST here was not as memorable. Nonetheless it was still fun to see her acting in the drama too! Her bantering scenes are always so entertaining.

Taynewwww

I love seeing TayNew in their working era. A content creator explained the title of the series, and it made me appreciate it even more. The "dog" isn't just about acting like a dog. It represents someone from a lower social class, while the "plane" symbolizes someone from a higher class. Knowing that adds another layer to the story.

I like how this series made me smile. Toto is one of those rare characters who's an absolute a**hole but somehow still a total green flag at the same time. 😂 While the story doesn't have much depth and a lot of the scenes are pretty predictable, it's still an enjoyable watch if you're looking for something light and fun, especially if you're an avid TayNew fan.

And let's not forget MondRyu. I've loved them ever since That Summer. ❤️

Bad script

I watched it for the second couple and the main couple's parents because the scenes with them were better. The main couple was also great, but at one point, the scenes alternated between happy and sad, filled with tears. At one point, it was very predictable. I love the entire cast, but the script could have been written differently. I especially enjoyed the scenes with the main couple's parents. Their fathers' friendship was funny, two allies hiding from their wives. The mothers had a slightly more complicated relationship because of Seok-ryu's mother, but they overcame their problems. Dan-oh's story was touching, and his relationship with Mo-eum was very charming, without too much drama. Seok-ryu's brother could have been more present. At one point, the neighbors were home more often than he was, like having dinner together, etc.

I liked the fact that the issues with ex-partners weren't complicated and had been completed earlier, and didn't drag on throughout the series. I liked the main actor's ex-girlfriend because she didn't cause unnecessary problems and even rooted for the main couple.

bro i do not write reviews for bls and i do rarely watch bls but i watched this since i was rlly interested in the pilot when it was released and i know geminifourth wont ever disappoint me

I do grew up with religion and eventually fell out of it and basically I felt the exact same way as how barth feels about religion. It really hits alot more harder when i see a mirror reflecting me when i see barth.

the music itself also was beautifully composed and introduced into the series. Not many shows could do that lol
overall its a really well written bl, kinda sad it has only 6 eps tho

For their first series together, they did an amazing job. The chemistry, the story, and the emotions all came together so well, making it easy to look forward to each new episode.
I truly hope this won't be the last time we see Ollie and Shu Yuan working together. ✨

Maybe I was just searching for a scratch for the itch that finishing Good Partner left me with, but I'm not complaining that it scratched that itch really well, if not being completely what I expected when I went in.

First off, if you want a procedural series about advertising, this really isn't it. Half the time they're actually doing their ad work, it barely even feels like they're making ads, more just excuses to advance the plot and bring about character revelations. This is far more about chaebol power struggles. Also known as the same thing every drama set in a big office building, but thankfully we get a really really good performance out of Lee Bo-young that brings the whole thing together. Certain topics are tackled in a way that mostly feel refreshingly undramatic.

Ah-in is flawed, and has a tragic backstory, yet works through her issues with ups and downs. She's not a villain, she's not a perfect hero with an explanation for everything, she's a human being dealing with a brain that functions slightly different to ones that others have. I do slightly wish we could have a character like her without the overly tragic backstory explaining things, but I also have to admit that as someone suffering from chronic anxiety, it's not just something that my brain decided to do one day either.

And the side characters around her aren't totally annoying, thank God. I'm sure there's someone out there that dislikes Eun-jung's chipperness here, but she's just enough of a good foil to Ah-in that it works. I wish I could say I liked some other aspects of the way her character is written... but I can't say I like any of the scenes with her family. I just hate them so much. A five year old is going to be five years old, sure, but my God, if this is how Korean husbands and mothers in law tip toe around their son's bad behaviour, no wonder such a significant chunk of the male populace are avowed misogynists. And it seems we're supposed to just forgive both of them and act like they were well meaning or something.

I do think there are also some pacing issues with the way some characters are prioritised in the back half, specifically Ha-na. Her character was a minefield of potential annoyances, yet Son Na-eun had just the right blend of insecurity and bravado that makes it work, but it just goes a little too far into being about her when it feels we haven't spent a lot of time with the actual main character in a while. The finale especially feels barely about Ah-in, and that's a shame. Couldn't really care for Ha-na's PA either, though I don't outright hate him and think the way things ended was satisfying enough.

Speaking of satisfying, this entire drama is basically a sixteen episode Choi Chang-soo humiliation ritual, it was so fun seeing episode to episode what enormous rake this moron would step on next. Not entirely happy with his ending, but there is something poetic about the nature of how corporate life corrupts, tying in well with the epilogue. As for how I feel about that epilogue? I'm okay with it. It makes sense for most of the characters, a little bit too precious and saccharine in a way only K-drama endings can be... but Eun-jung, leave your damn husband.

Really liked Jung-min's five minutes of screen time as a supporting character and I think I've settled on my ship dynamic for Ah-in because of her. Sue me. I'm always thinking of one. Another win for the "female lead doesn't really date any men, so you can't say she's straight" crowd (me) though.

I actually really enjoyed this drama. The chemistry between Jack and Joker is on another level, and they carried the entire series so well. Their emotional scenes felt natural, and I was completely invested in their relationship.

The biggest downside for me was the plot. It felt a bit messy, and I just wasn't really into the story itself. There were moments where it seemed to lose direction, so I found myself watching more for the characters than for the plot.

Another thing I didn't enjoy was the comedy. Even during serious or emotional moments, the friend group would suddenly do something that was supposed to be funny. Unfortunately, those jokes didn't work for me—they felt forced and a little childish. I wanted the drama to stay serious instead of interrupting emotional scenes with unnecessary comedy.

The main reason I kept watching was the acting. I especially have to talk about War's performance. I've watched Yin and War's previous dramas, and I usually ended up falling for Yin's character more. But this time, Jock completely stole my heart. War has improved so much as an actor. His smile is so warm and beautiful, and whenever he cried, I found myself crying with him. He delivered every emotion so naturally, and this is easily one of his best performances.

Overall, I enjoyed this drama because of the incredible chemistry and the strong acting, not because of the plot. It's not one of the best dramas I've watched, but it's definitely watchable. If you enjoy amazing chemistry and emotional performances, I think it's worth giving a try.

It pains me to have to rate this as low as I did

I'm normally on board for an office romance. I'm ALWAYS on board for Seo In Guk. So, to say I was disappointed with this offering is an understatement. I think the major blame needs to go to the writer, for a number of reasons. The lead couple and the second couple felt like their stories were too much alike. Sure, one woman was ghosted and the other left for someone else, but the female responses to both situations was the same. The females seemed weak and needy to me. When the SFL said to SML "I'm always going to put myself first", I think the point was that she was going to start believing in herself more, but the result was selfishness - that's not a relationship that's going to work in the long run.
The FL came across as childish and seemed to always be making emotional demands of the ML. Her internal conversations always seemed to be about why he wasn't behaving in the way she thought he should.
I'm also very tired of the trope where the couple goes through so much, they are supposedly very in love, but then she is reluctant to get married.
Seo In Guk - he has never been one to over-emote. He can convey so much using just his eyes and a slight upturn of his lips. In this show, first I felt an extreme lack of energy from him, like he was slogging through mud or something. I kept thinking of Winnie the Pooh's friend Eeyore.
There was a real lack of chemistry between the leads and I didn't believe in them or their love.
Small thing related to makeup/lighting. There were a number of scenes when the main couple was outside at night, talking. The makeup for the FL was strange, lots of reddish around her eyes and not in scenes where she was supposed to have been crying. And the scene where she goes into the bathroom after he showered, I don't know if it was makeup or lighting, but Seo In Guk looked yellow. Not a good look.
This is one of those shows, that after completing, I'm gun shy about being disappointed again. I guess I'll have to re-watch something that I know I loved.

I think this drama has a unique storyline that you don't often see these days. It's a crime-solving drama entangled with two timelines, so you might feel confused at first trying to connect the characters in the present and the past. Rather than being character-focused, this drama tells you more about a society that appears prosperous on the surface, yet whose morality is increasingly in decline. That's why Qu San Geng who is supposed to be the main character, doesn't really feel like one; instead, he comes across more as a tool to help viewers discover the plot, because the story isn't really about him.

Song Chen is the best character, while young Lu Zhi (the adult Lu Zhi almost has nothing to do with the young one, just to keep the suspense) is the most interesting one. It's funny how young Lu Zhi is only listed as the 7th character in this drama, considering how important he is to the plot.

The director is definitely talented, and the production quality is top-notch. The cinematography is also outstanding. It truly captures the feel of the ancient Ming Dynasty, which was one of the most prosperous periods in Chinese history but also the one of the most autocratic of all Chinese dynasties, emphasizing Neo-Confucian values, rigid social controls, and female chastity. The lighting in this drama is used brightly, portraying both the prosperity and the suffocating atmosphere of that era.

A Scene at the Sea is imbued with love, tenderness and beauty

A modest smile at the corners of a deaf young man's lips, a solitary tear of hurt glimmering beneath the lowered lashes of a sweet, endearing girl, the daily walk to the sea—Takeshi Kitano not only has the ability to recognize the beauty in such moments, but also the rare gift of conveying it to the audience. With every frame, he quietly declares his love for ordinary people, whether they are sweeping the streets, playing pickup soccer in a neighborhood lot, or selling surfing equipment.

To many, Shigeru's life may seem monotonous, unremarkable, filled with naïve and seemingly pointless aspirations. Yet that does not make it any less precious to him. It is the only life he has, and he adorns it with dreams, filling it with moments of joy for as long as he possibly can. Takeshi Kitano is an observer—but not the detached, indifferent kind who abandons the audience to the characters' fate. Rather, he is a creator, surrounding them with a quiet, compassionate gaze. He cannot alter the course of events, yet his presence is felt from the opening scene to the final frame.

A Scene at the Sea is imbued with love, tenderness, and beauty, whose delicate fragility finds its perfect reflection in Joe Hisaishi's exquisite score. Deeply attuned to the film's gentle spirit, Hisaishi discovers exactly the right emotional register. And once again, the timeless truth comes to mind: happiness always walks hand in hand with inner peace, and it can never be found in material prosperity alone.

A Revenge Drama That Actually Got the Ending Right

This was one of those short dramas that surprised me from beginning to end. The title makes you think it's just another revenge melodrama, but it delivers far more emotional weight than I expected. It takes viewers on a painful journey through betrayal, sacrifice, forgiveness, and ultimately justice.

The female lead (FL) is undoubtedly the heart of this story. She isn't written as a weak woman who simply cries while life falls apart around her. Instead, she's incredibly resilient. After sacrificing so much—including her own future and dreams—she continues to show compassion and strength even when she's surrounded by lies and betrayal. Watching her raise a child with genuine love, despite the heartbreaking truth behind that child, made her character feel mature and selfless rather than naive. Her emotional scenes felt sincere, and it was easy to root for her from the very first episode.

The male lead (ML) was written with much more depth than I expected. At first, it's easy to dislike him because of the choices he makes and the pain he causes. However, as the story unfolds, you begin to see the weight of his mistakes and the consequences they have on everyone around him. His journey isn't about becoming a perfect hero overnight—it's about finally facing the truth, accepting responsibility, and trying to make amends. That character growth made him far more believable than many male leads in similar revenge dramas.

One of the biggest strengths of this drama is its pacing. Since it's a short drama, every episode moves the story forward without unnecessary filler. Secrets are revealed at the right moments, the emotional confrontations have impact, and the tension continues to build until the finale.

The ending was exceptionally well done. Too many short dramas either rush the conclusion or leave viewers feeling unsatisfied. This one took the time to resolve the major conflicts in a meaningful way. The truth finally came to light, the characters were forced to face the consequences of their actions, and the emotional payoff felt earned rather than rushed. Instead of relying on shock value, the ending focused on healing, accountability, and giving viewers a genuine sense of closure. It was satisfying without feeling overly perfect, which made it even more memorable.

Overall, I Raised His Mistress's Daughter is an emotional roller coaster that mixes heartbreak, family drama, betrayal, and redemption into a surprisingly compelling story. If you're a fan of revenge dramas with strong character development and an ending that actually respects the audience's investment, this one is definitely worth watching.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It's one of the better short dramas released in 2026, thanks to its emotionally strong female lead, the male lead's believable character development, and a finale that delivers the satisfying conclusion many dramas fail to achieve.
