Not for Newbies !

This series is one of the most confusing fictional cdramas I’ve ever watched . It was so confusing but the key is to keep going because eventually at the end you’ll understand everything.

The series had a lot “plot twists” which were the major cause of confusion that at it the end it felt less like a plot twist but rather an explanation.

I honestly feel like it could’ve been written better . The storyline was great but I can’t help but feel like execution was poor . A lot was going on . If I didn’t have prior experience with other fictional historical dramas and was already used to plots like this , I feel like I would’ve struggled more .

It got to a point where it just felt like they were spinning in circles trying to die for each other . I mean it’s cute the first 2 times but after that , it’s just excessive and exhausting, almost as though we the audience cannot catch a break .

Still I think it’s a drama worth watching but definitely not something I’d rewatch or recommend to others

uma ótima surpresa

Seo Yi Do é um assassino de aluguel que recebe a missão de matar Heo Dong Hwa, mas tudo muda quando seu chefe ordena que ele mantenha o rapaz vivo enquanto procura um celular com informações importantes. A situação se complica ainda mais quando Chu Tae Jeong, um detetive e amigo de Dong Hwa, aparece para passar alguns dias na casa e acaba confundindo Yi Do com o irmão da vítima. Preso em uma mentira, Yi Do precisa esconder sua verdadeira identidade enquanto sentimentos inesperados começam a surgir entre os dois.

Gostei da proposta da história, está muito alinhada ao tipo de bl que estou curtindo bastante de acompanhar onde tem o romance envolvido com suspense e criminalidades. O ritmo da história se mantém sem problema algum, quando eu assisti os dois primeiros episódios eu fiquei preso na história e ansioso por mais.

Os protagonistas constroem uma química, não é uma das melhores na minha opinião, mas não é forçado, vai evoluindo aos poucos e convence, é possível sentir o sentimento de um pelo outro, mas o ponto alto para mim aqui é a atuação dos envolvidos, o Yi Do e o Dong Hwa são os personagens mais fortes aqui.

Como ponto negativo, senti que o Tae Jeong é um péssimo policial que não sei como conseguiu passar para a polícia. No entanto a gente não tem acesso a seu histórico como policial, a gente sabe que ele é o tipo de policial íntegro e que se tiver algo errado ele vai investigar, mas um policial que não sabe nem autodefesa e acaba aprendendo com um assassino é de cair o **

É uma série que vale a pena assistir, é curtinha, os episódios possuem um bom ritmo e para quem gosta de romance com suspense vai gostar desse. O final é o esperado, nada de novo sob o sol.

Masterpiece

This drama highlight trauma, mental illness, abuse, love, family, politics great combination. The leads def did a great job they chemistry together was everything their stories apart were deep and moving. Bai lu proved again what a great actress she is playing a character dealing with trauma and mental illness and fighting scenes chefs kiss. Cheng lei he has grown as actor i felt his emotions through the screen. Him and bai lu they played a great married couple so well made it seem real. If they do a drama together again im def watching.I did feel bad for the second male lead too him losing family and being locked up and bad influences took him down the wrong path his ending did break my heart. As villian empress im glad she got her karma that she killed alot innocent people but still thought she was great ruler a true narcissist. My only issue didnt see emough lin mu ran in this drama glad his character made it to the end though i def recommend this drama id def plan on rewatching it soon again.

To Be Continued

The plot was so twisted that it literally left my stomach in knots after the finale. I even gagged once I fully pieced everything together. Having watched countless suspense thrillers that I managed to predict few twists halfway through. But the writer still had the upper hand. I didn't truly grasp how deep and layered the story was until the very last episode. The background music was hats off. It blends so perfectly with every scene. This is exactly the kind of drama I love which does not become predictable halfway through. It keeps you hooked from start to finish.

A Must Watch!!

This drama was what we all needed.. a break from the usual storylines.. i love how it tackled mental health, resilience, and just the human heart itself.. Bai Lu was perfect for the FL role.. she really pulled this one off.. Cheng Lei is always the right person for these General roles.. i swear this man was a General in his past life.. i love how the writers paced the story it wasnt rushed or lagging.. it flowed. And they gave each character development and closure in the end.. nothing was left undone.. this drama was not romance heavy so dont expect heavy making out.. but their chemistry was wonderful.. their love was so endearing and gets you right in the chest.. I really truly enjoyed this drama. Go give it a watch! Gonna go rewatch it again right now lol 💜

they STILL need therapy

Hira a student in the photography club and his ‘boyfriend’ Kiyoi an actor try to navigate the beginning of a relationship.

What I Like
I love the addition of Anna an actress that’s guiding Kiyoi. I also love that they finally have an adult conversation. The same sweetness carries over in this season.

What I Hate
Kiyoi is still abusive it’s clear that Hira has no self esteem, doesn’t understand and is oblivious. Kiyoi only reassures him and compliments him in a half @ssed way and kicks him.

Nitpick
It’s very short and a little light on plot, it just continues plot points from season 1 because of the unresolved fight they got in.

This Drama Messed With My Head

I honestly didn’t expect Notes from the Last Row to be this unsettling. The drama slowly pulls you in until you start questioning the characters, their intentions, and what is actually happening.
Choi Min Sik was amazing as Heo Mun Oh, bringing so much emotional weight to a character full of contradictions. But Choi Hyun Wook as Lee Kang was one of the biggest highlights for me. He plays the character with such control and subtlety — the way he uses his expressions, his silence, and even small reactions makes you constantly wonder what he’s thinking. There’s something captivating about how he can seem calm and innocent in one moment, then completely unpredictable in another.
The dynamic between them is what makes the drama so interesting. Their scenes feel like a constant mental game, with both actors bringing different energies that make the story work.
The ending is what really makes the drama stand out. It’s not a simple “good vs evil” story; it’s about obsession, curiosity, and how people can lose themselves trying to understand someone else.
A very different K-drama experience, and definitely one that stayed on my mind after finishing.

True Love is a construction

I loved this story! I don't even have words to describe how good this drama is! He is intelligent and mature, does not make judgments, he is just a sincere and humorous search for true love.
A complicated journey, with many stumbles, nothing like fiction novels, but whose reward is happiness. The drama is not depressing, it treats sadness and pain with strength and determination, it talks about overcoming, self-esteem, starting over and for sure the message is: believe me, there is true love, he is not a prince on a white horse, he is built with affection and dedication, and it is well worth it!

A Powerful Yet Painful Story of Love and Mental Health

Double Helix was a fascinating and emotionally intense series that follows the relationship between Cheng Yi Chen and Lu Feng. What begins as a rocky friendship gradually blossoms into a heartfelt romance, and the early development of their relationship is one of the show’s strongest aspects. Watching them slowly lower their defenses, learn to trust one another, and genuinely care for each other felt natural and well-written, making it easy to become invested in their journey.

Once they finally become a couple, their happiness is short-lived. A photo of them spreads throughout the school, igniting conflict both at school and within their families. I especially appreciated how Lu Feng remained unwavering in his love for Cheng Yi, refusing to let public opinion or societal judgment dictate how he felt. His determination to stand by Cheng Yi, despite the backlash, was one of the most admirable aspects of his character.

Unfortunately, the two are forcibly separated, and years later they finally reunite. Just as it seems they might finally get the future they always dreamed of, new obstacles arise. Overwhelmed by pressure from his mother and brother, Cheng Yi makes the heartbreaking decision to end their relationship. Feeling as though he had always come last to everyone else in Cheng Yi’s life, Lu Feng reaches his breaking point. His unresolved trauma and overwhelming fear of abandonment gradually consume him, leading him down a path of increasingly obsessive and abusive behavior.

The series does an excellent job portraying Lu Feng’s deteriorating mental state. Rather than treating his actions as simple villainy, it explores the emotional wounds and psychological struggles that shaped him. While his behavior is never excused, the progression of his mental health and the reasons behind his actions are presented with care, making him a tragic and deeply flawed character rather than a one-dimensional antagonist.

As painful as the middle portion of the story becomes, it ultimately serves a purpose. Once the truth finally comes to light, both characters are forced to confront their trauma and the damage it has caused. After enduring a few more hardships, Lu Feng finally opens up to Cheng Yi completely, allowing Cheng Yi to provide the support, reassurance, and encouragement he desperately needed.

One aspect of the series that irritated me was how poorly both Cheng Yi’s and Lu Feng’s parents handled every situation. Rather than protecting or supporting their children, they became the source of their emotional pain. Their inability to understand, communicate, or prioritize their children’s well-being played a significant role in the trauma both young men carried into adulthood, making them some of the most frustrating characters in the series.

In the end, Cheng Yi Chen and Lu Feng finally achieve what they had always longed for: the chance to truly be together. Cheng Yi finally chooses their relationship and decides to put them first, while Lu Feng is finally able to experience the unconditional love and acceptance he had been searching for. With that love comes healing, allowing him to begin letting go of his lifelong fear of being abandoned again.

While the show does contains many toxic and uncomfortable moments, particularly throughout the middle/ending of the series, it also emphasizes accountability, healing, and the importance of seeking help. This certainly isn’t a romance that will appeal to everyone, but for viewers willing to engage with its darker themes, it offers a powerful look at trauma, mental illness, codependency, and the long road toward recovery.

Overall, I really enjoyed the series. The cinematography was beautiful, with crisp visuals and thoughtful framing that enhanced many of the emotional moments. The soundtrack was equally impressive, perfectly complementing the story’s emotional highs and devastating lows. Although its subject matter can be difficult to watch at times, Double Helix ultimately delivers a compelling and emotionally resonant story about love, trauma, healing, and choosing one another despite the odds.

Very relatable and heartwarming ❤️

As someone in the same age group as the cast, I find the show very very relatable and heartwarming. As we get older, most of us prefer to spend time alone (or are use to it) but for some, it can get lonely. It gets even harder to make new connections or friends. At first, I thought the cast was a little bit odd but the chemistry grew as the show went on. They were very real and I hope they all stay in touch as friends! Kudos to the cast and the crew. Awesome watch and it was great to see Jang Geun Seok and Ahn Jae Hyun again. So glad that the show will be having season 2 💙

amazing acting, intense emotions, and a soundtrack you'll keep replaying

I seriously wish EWB had more episodes. I'm not yet ready to watch the last episode of this series. The lead actors absolutely delivered! They have incredible chemistry, making every scene feel natural, emotional, and unforgettable. They brought the romance and angst to life, and the OST was simply god-tier, elevating every moment. What makes it even more impressive is that the lead actresses (Jan and Jingjing) sang the OST themselves. They're both incredibly talented! Highly recommend EWB if you're looking for a heartfelt romance with amazing acting, intense emotions, and a soundtrack you'll keep replaying. I'm already following both actress.. can't wait to see the next project they'll do.

Caos icônico, mas em excesso

Abandonei há uns meses atrás, porque ficou meio cansativo, mas voltei assistir ontem e já acabei. (ainda foi cansativo)
Bom, no geral foi MUITO caótico, e todos os personagens cometeram erros grandes ou significantes, é uma série que mostra bastante e não romantiza nem um pouco (ou romantiza demais) os erros cometidos em relações.
Antes de assistir, ouvi tudo de ruim, e honestamente, não foi nada horrível de se assistir (apesar de eu ter 0 senso crítico e achar tudo que assisto bom).
Gostei em partes porque no geral, os personagens continuaram sendo eles mesmos até o final, sem perder a própria essência. Também porque os casais foram fofos enquanto estavam bem. E a ost do Khaotung é muito boa, viciei.
Não gostei em partes porque foi bem caótico, todos sempre estavam fazendo merda, ou aceitando muito pouco, as vezes perdoando fácil demais. E foi meio difícil e cansativo assistir os terminas e voltas dos casais, toda hora alguém errando de novo, mas sei que é a realidade de muitos casais hoje em dia.
Como o mark disse uma vez, é um bl pra passar raiva mesmo.
