Loved it, but...

This is my first thai drama. I didn't expect anything, I watched it because I've seen it in an amv.
Well...
First of all, it was an amazing experience. The whole language and everything, I just fell in love with the atmosphere already.
Then the story started. It was a beautidul storyline, not too predictable, but it didn't hold many surprises.
The idea is just so unique, and the way they showed the characters... it was amazing.
Now, what I didn't like...
How can a lead character be so incompetent? She didn't even once tried to hear the story from anyone else's point of view, only what she heard first. It was so irritating.
But even though I didn't like the female lead, it was still one of my favourite shows so far. I absolutely love it.
Maybe it's not good for boys, but I think, that every single woman on this earth would love this.
The acting is really good, the main actors are so in character, that I could cry with them, smile with them, and I had all the emotions, they had. In critical times, my heartbeat was sooo fast, I had to stop the episode.
If you haven't seen this, don't hesitate. You won't regret it.

Rooftop Prince is a classic K Drama that one should watch, although, the further you are in your K drama experiance, the least good you'll find this one. First of all, the idea was interesting and entertaining, with the romance good enough to keep things interesting till the end. The past story was okay too and the family drama was good as well, with enough drama to keep you going. But, the drama was full of cliches, with the missing daughter, the evil male rival, the rich grandmother etc etc. At least the theme was original. In addition, the length was too much, as it could have been a few episodes sort. And yet, the ending was a bit too quick, leaving things hanging. So, 5 out of 10.

It is quite sad to see Zhang binbin and Dilireba in the drama, they clearly loved each other but cannot be together. Zhan Feng (Zhang binbin) turns cruel and cold towards Ruge but I hope to see them reconcile. This An Ye Luo villain guy... I cannot wait for him to appear and get the punishment he deserves.
I hope they follow the ending of the novel :) Since the novel ending was kind of open ended, I'm hoping the drama can do a bit better~
Yu Gongzi and Gongzi Xue are at the top of my bias list~ I really want Ruge with Zhan Feng but due to this conflict, she's better off with Yu and Xue~ at least Xue will protect the girl and Yu will also protect her~
Ruge- Dilireba- is sooo lucky surrounded by handsome guys <3
This drama deserves more viewing :D
If anyone is hesitating, don't! Watch it and you will not regret it!
I only watched a few episodes but this drama will get really good, I know it.
OST is killer as well, acting is superb. Dilireba improved a lot, you can see it yourself~
No matter who she ends up with, I'm cheering for her :D

First of all....I hate scary movies. I am the biggest coward when it comes to these types of movies. So what would possess me to watch this movie? Gong Yoo that's what. For him I would personally fight off those zombies. I sucked up my fear, I manned up and put on my big girl panties and watched this film.

The storyline was typical zombie type thing. I wanted them to give a background of just what caused this accident that created zombies. It came out of no where...but anyway...

Actors...wonderful.... Gong Yoo...phenomenal. I am on an Gong Yoo binge so he can do no wrong for me right now. The little girl that played h is daughter Soo An was amazing. She had me bursting in tears at the end. This is me riding on the train, watching this movie on my way to work. I went from laughing and crying in seconds. I am sure everyone thought I was crazy. I was literally crying when I saw him get bit. Ma Dong Seok once again was amazing as well. I loved him in Bad Guys and I was excited to see him in this one as well. I would always feel safe with him by myself. He takes care of business. Although for most of the movie, I wanted Kim Eui Sung's character to get killed...when it actually happened, I felt sorry for him. He was trying to make it home to his mother(aww..sigh..). Yeong Guk(Choi Woo Shik) actually dying by Jin Hee's side (Ahn So Hee) because he felt that he couldn't protect her was sad as well.

I think I heard somewhere that there will be a sequel to this movie. But Gong Yoo turned in to a zombie. Will they find a cure to turn them back? I don't know if I would watch it if he is not in it. Oh well....just have to wait and see I guess.

Music...I really didn't pay attention to it...was too busy trying to be brave and focus on Gong Yoo's face only.

Re-watch...as much as I love Gong Yoo...I don't think that I would re-watch this only because I hate scary movies.

A thousand words

There's some tv-dramas in Korea that can get a little bit hard to rate. If I were to review The Greatest Love on individual criterias, without considering the whole show, I don't think I would get anything close to its final rating here in MDL. Take the plot script for example :
It's not exactly anything we haven't seen before. Annoying / arrogant / jerk MC falls for the 'straight-man' played by a lovely woman, which in turn falls for the 'growing-not-so-arrogant-in-progress' MC. Remind you of something else already ?
Filming ? Not even that great. From the pitiful CGFX to the very unoriginal view angles, nothing stands out. So what does, exactly ?
As it happens : dialogs.
Dialogs in this TV-show (especially between the male/female leads) are ones of the best I could hear - correction - see (subtitles, since I don't understand korean ... yet). It makes up, hands high, for anything less well-written, and it's a real asset here since the story focused on very few characters. Most of the dialogs are snappy, fluid, sometimes a little too fast, while some lines are so violent that you can almost hear the slap on the face of the interlocutor.
Of course it helps when someone like Gong Hyo Jin is one of the actress to play those lines (and yes, I'm fanboying, so what ?)
Still, dialogs are not a trivial matter on this drama, and you have to follow carefully to fully understand what the characters are actually meaning. Which is great. Well, it's always great, when writers respect the viewers and don't take them for passive fools.
Another point of interest in this drama is the way the story unfolds. The development, of sort. Authors/writers must have enjoyed this part quite a bit, since they've played with it as often as they could. Here's an example : this drama is, more often than not, quite funny. The thing is - most of the time - you can see the joke coming a mile away. It's quite highly predictable. But as predictable as it is, you will still laught at the end. Since you expected the joke, the writers moved it just slightly elsewhere (the minor accident in the parking lot, for example).
This is one of the thing I love about this drama : predictable/unpredictable moves transformed into minor/major events, which in turn push the show a little further. It's not actually that original, or that unpredictable, in any way, but the show in its whole gives you a comfortable feeling, while remaining just snappy enough to pin you on your chair and complete it.
So at the end of this review, you, as a potential viewer, could enjoy this drama as I did. This drama may not please everyone, but if you're not waiting for it as your next masterpiece, this TV-show should provide a brief, good moment, comfortable, while not exactly "inoubliable", which results in a 8.0 rating.

This drama has explosive chemistry between the leads.... they both have acted amazingly and what kisses!!!

There is a super adorable kid here as well which is fun to watch.

The drama is shot in a non linear manner sometimes and the first 8 epi are well shot and plotted but feels a little soulless...but after tht the rest is gr8 to watch.

There are some parts that were very convienient and some very irritating.... after epi 29 it just feels like it is draggin bcoz of the female villian.

Worth a watch for the chemistry until ep 32 max...after that u ask urself why watch this drama...just skip to the end....

This drama is available on daily motion as RRi-16 (epi no changes) in 380 and upto 15 on dramanice in good quality.

Prison Playbook is the definition of emotion done right.

I haven’t seen this much heart in a drama before. It’s beautiful and melancholic. Serene and hopeful. And ultimately: very important.

The drama has a reputation for being an easy, fluffy, heartwarming watch however that’s just one element of it. Prison playbook, in its core is a show about a couple of men in a bad place, who’ve done bad things but have good hearts. It’s about finding purity in the most unfortunate circumstances and seeking warmth in a cold, hopeless time.

There are some hauntingly dark and jarring moments but the beauty of the show is such that it overcomes its darkness with a good dose of laughter and love. There will be times when you have to pause the screen to let out a jolly good cackle and times when you can’t stop the tears because you’re so overcome by feeling.

All the characters are fully baked and beautifully developed, so much so, that you’ll find yourself forming a personal connection with each and every one of them. The story flows smoothly with "almost" no plot-holes and the writing is exceptional, giving attention to detail and a tight plot. Each episode plays with a range of emotions with never a boring moment. It’s far from a tension drama and develops very slowly, yet it managed to hook me in a way that I binged it as fast as I would do any crime-thriller.

The OST is perfect. The screenplay is immaculate. The acting is top-notch. Kim Hae Soo plays one of the best male leads in a drama in a way so natural and effortless that you can’t help but adore him.

The drama gives birth to one of the most iconic bromances in K-Drama history. There’s real brotherhood and friendship here. The relationships between characters are incredibly fleshed out and the side of romance is also well-done.

So over-all, Prison Playbook is an excellent show. The only reason I didn’t give it a perfect score was because I had mixed feelings about the last couple of episodes. The fact that some of the characters that I had grown very attached to were given a somewhat realistic but quite unsatisfactory and abrupt open end, while other characters were given an almost ideal personality change and happy ending made me raise eyebrows. This contradiction made me wish that there was an additional episode that gave much needed closure to some aspects of the show and closed the story cleanly. However, in the grand scheme of things this could easily be overlooked.

Filled with sugar, spice and life- Prison Playbook is definitely one of the best dramas out there.

Enjoy!

Ma ke.... You stole my heart as Ya Long. What a treasure this show was. I loved it.

What did I like about this drama?:
-----------------------------

- The plot! The ideas behind the story were amazing. It was very cleverly thought of and I loved the idea of going back into the past to change things and meet reincarnations of other people.

- The mix of supernatural with historical genre is always a hit with me. I loved the magic, vampires, historical settings and action.

- Ma Me (as Ya Long)... Its the first drama I watched with him in it, and now I'm trying to find more with him as a lead role. Great acting skills and not to mention he is so handsome, I thought my eyeballs would shrivel up from not blinking while watching the screen. I craved more scenes with him in it and his outfit/make up was fantastic.

- The special effects. Oddly enough, I enjoyed them. They weren't top dollar kinda stuff, but the amount of thought/logic and effort put into the effects was great. Whether it was ya long flying in the sky or magic spells being cast, it was done in a way that was believable and added to the magic of the show. When some dramas have special effects I find they can be a bit cheesy and silly.

What didn't I like about this drama?:
--------------------------------------------

- Female lead was a bit annoying. Don't get me wrong, she was funny and charming in her own way, but I prefer a more stronger heroine in dramas.

- The relationship between si yin and ye yin (female lead and her master). I wanted so much to buy into their relationship and feel it was special, but struggled with it. I didn't feel a bond between them, I felt that it wasn't really a solid love triangle plot theme. But that's a personal opinion, some others would disagree, I'm sure. I just wasn't feeling it.

- The ending...without spoiling too much... It felt rushed and it didn't satisfy me. I felt like it needed more.

Would I rewatch it? Yes! In fact, I already have rewatched some episodes I particularly liked. I highly recommend it to anyone into romance, supernatural, fantasy and historical genres.

Bromance, conspiracies and action.

I was pretty shocked reading the reviews before starting the drama, since they make it look extremely bad.
It isn't.

Ofc the plot is nothing world changing. Two boys "hating" each other, very evil adults, a big conspiracy and many flashbacks. Is this bad? No. It might be not really innovative, but in my eyes the whole story is carried out well and excitingly.

Apart from that, I was really surprised about the implementation of martial arts and fighting scenes, damn, even blood and actual injuries. It's honestly said not a typical high-school teens romance drama, it mostly tells about friendship and family (ofc there's still romance), about competition and fighting for the good.

The characters were extremely interesting, I'm always a fan of these arrogant, sassy dudes who go through a personal growth and start changing their attitude over time. This change of attitude was perfectly implemented in the Bromance, which is, REALLY STRONG AND AMAZING in this drama. Actually the drama itself seems to ship the guys with each other more than with the girls. Not that I mind. Talking about girls, with this drama I finally found sth, where the girls aren't the typical victims who have to be protected, but strong, independent, smart young women. All roles are very well acted out, despite the actors being so young. And not only the main cast, but also the support roles are great and interesting. Another huge plus is that the cast is super international, even featuring people from non-asian countries.

OH and guys. The music. It's really great. While watching the drama, there was no day when I didn't catch myself humming the songs. They'll forever be in my favorite songs list tho.

To summarize it: If you want a strong, heartwarming bromance (Yes I cried 3 times), a not really lovey-dovey but more action focused drama, with good actors and a satisfying ending, watch it. Just do it.

From start to end whole Drama was in a sync but some second actors was creating some ups and downs which was worth it. There was an excitement about what will happen next?
I like the protagonist, Sakuraba Junko. Her given character is very inspiring. She faced lots of hardships during whole drama but she never gave up, which leads to a good ending.
I hated the fact that lead hero don't even show his emotion which lookly he was just being forced by director to act though his character was like that but still their can be more improvement.
over all story was nice. It is a light drama to watch.

I can't fault it. There's nothing I can say that's negative about this show. Pure magic! Ji Chang wook just owns the show with his acting skills in this. He's just so gorgeous and his kickass character made him all the more attractive. The female lead was spunky, confident, smart and brave - she wasnt whiny or weak. She was easy to relate to and root for. The plot was fast, it kept moving a nice pace so I didn't get bored. The music was good, there are a few songs from this drama that I love and listen to often. I could easily rewatch this, like a million times or more. It's never going to get old. Its a classic and a top fav of mine. If you're considering watching this, I beg you to stop reading these reviews and just do it. Do it now!...you won't regret it! I promise!

High tension from the beginning. Thrilling, and everything looks nice. Arimura Kasumi's cuteness, and her act when she punched the zombie are the best. I would love to tell you, it's almost the same with Train to Busan, run away from zombies and attack them to survive. But... unfortunately... the story was not good as I expected. It's just 'run away, and attack, run, and attack'. The ending? Bad... unless there will be a sequel, just like Train to Busan. The actions, though, I enjoyed so much. The shattered body, bloody road, and the sounds of weapon make me forget about the plot. Oh yea, the plot? Hmm, it's like the plot could not reach its own goal.

Well....intensity. Wowcha, someone get me a bucket. The male lead (emperor) was just so on point, the actor who played him was fantastic. Brooding, dangerous, possessive and utterly smitten with the female lead. The female lead was strong, smart, beautiful - she was the perfect heroine in my eyes. The plot was very thick to me, and sometimes it was easy to become lost in it. However, there were plenty of romantic scenes and I kept going back just to rewatch certain bits as they were just so beautifully done I loved this drama so much. One of my top favs. I'm already thinking about watching it again. Great show, great actors... I highly recommend it if you're into possessive, powerful and dark heroes!

Its still an ongoing drama but I feel like I have already know what my opinion the the drama is. I find the plot really good, you get hooked up to the drama in the very start even tho its quite "cloudy" and I couldnt figure out whats going on and who tf are the main characters. What really bothers me is the change of one of the lead females exactly in the middle of the drama. Im not going to stop watching it because its a really good drama and it has everything in it. But the thing is that her character changed like way too much (obviously they changed the actress but thats not the only thing). Its like a whole new character in the story. Anyway its indeed well written drama that doesn't only focus on the main characters, but also the other characters which gives this drama more depth and makes it more meaningful. In fact the rating went up when the actress was changed so its good for the drama i guess because it deserves a high rating. Definitely NOT dropping this even tho I am hella confused atm. Im going to edit this review as soon as the drama ends. Also the OST is really good, it gives me chills and it compliments the genre.

Great show. I'd read the manga and didn't really like it all that much, but decided to give the drama a watch as I was needed something to feed my drama addiction. I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot. At first, I wasn't too sure about the whole pet-master relationship. But as the show went on, I really felt for the lead female and male. They were both great actors. The plot fell flat sometimes and I felt a lot of focus was put on the female leads work life, but there was enough of takeshi on the screen to keep me wanting more. I loved his character so much and it was great how his character could go from cute and cuddly, to serious and emotional. The bond and closeness the two leads had was very touching and special. I would watch this show again, for sure.
