I finished it only for Namkoong Min because the story was so frustrating even though it started so good. To some point I had to finish the episodes in parts because the cops were so annoying with their incompetence and Seyun being constantly in danger, even at the end when Manhui confessed they caught him just because Taeju threatened him not because the cops did a good job. Also when Taeju was suspected of kidnapping his wife and planning her murder they were pursuing him so intensely but when they knew Manhui was responsible for the kidnapping(to some point) and they even knew his face there was no pursuit of him and he could just walk freely and even approach the hospital with such an ease. What’s more, the scene in which the lights were off at the station pissed me off so much even though Taeju escaping was fun to watch but police stations have units to avoid such situations.

I love Xiao Zhan since The Untamed but this drama is …..😑

The Longest promise is one of my most awaited drama since I like Xiao Zhan.. and it’s a bit a let down for me.. Xiao Zhan and the FL doesn’t have a chemistry.. the character of the FL was so childish, brat and a bit dumb and that it irritates me but I still kept on watching it since it is Xiao Zhan’s drama.. the FL needs to be saved every freaking time.. the few last episodes are okay since the FL become matured but the ending is a bit sad.. and I hate sad endings..😅

The advantage of watching this drama is getting to know the 2nd ML (Alen Fang).. I love the character of the 2nd ML.. his patience and love for the FL is top notch.. and he is so handsome..😍

Overall, this is a so-so drama for me.. a drama that I am glad its over and will never re-watch..

a little too vicious at times but we get a happy ending

Zombies are NOT my thing, so take that into account in relation to my * rating.
The zombie stuff (attacking, gore) happens mostly in the first part of the movie & then moves onto much less gruesome things. I wish that there had been more time spent showing us the training of the daughter than time spent on the zombies (in the beginning) as I felt there was alot of potential for more short comedic moments with the daughter.
Male lead Jo Yung Sook shines in this role & the young female lead did a really awesome job with her body movements (assuming they didn't CGI her). The comedic relief being a cat was amusing, but I wasn't sure if there was something sketchy implied when the cat sat upright, legs spread & tail twitching when it watched another cat on T.V.
I was disappointed in the way they handled getting rid of the biological father - it was a complete fail for me.
The last part of the movie was an unexpected & creative way to present a happy ending .
I didn't give it a perfect score because:

Having the biological father return made for an impossible resolution.
They COULD have had his arrival trigger memories that caused regeneration.
They COULD have made the uncle getting attacked cause regeneration due to memories of the bond between niece & uncle. They COULD have had the daughter bang her father with the stick & knock him out, OR even had uncle & niece drive off & leave the girl's father. after just punching him & knocking him down...but instead there is regression & all the progress of de zombification is lost in a moment where she gives into rage. that it's implied that the uncle finishes off the uncle (off screen) makes him less heroic & good. That the girl was still able to pass on the virus was also disappointing. that she does indeed bite her uncle as the end (even though it was invited) is also disappointing. I think there were better ways to handle these issues.
I also did not like that the uncle's former female class mate was so blood thirsty & un nurturing as she is presented as a probably love interest & new mother for the zombie girl.


So though it could have had more sweet & more comedic moments with the leads not going vicious, it was still good enough that i would rewatch it in the future.

Jiang Mu as a character didn’t fully work for me — she just wasn’t my cup of tea.

To be honest, I was initially hooked on this drama and had high expectations, especially since Esther Yu is the female lead. As a fan of Esther, I always look forward to her projects. However, Jiang Mu as a character didn’t fully work for me — she just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Some viewers found the story uncomfortable and labeled it as incest or grooming. Personally, I don’t fully agree. Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu were separated when they were young and had no contact for around 10 years. Jiang Mu’s mother deliberately kept them apart during their teenage years, knowing they weren’t real siblings. Jiang Mu only learned the truth when she was 19, which led her to reconnect with Jin Zhao in Thailand. By then, they were already adults.

The storyline itself was okay — not outstanding, but not bad either. They were raised together from Jiang Mu’s infancy until she was around 9 years old, then separated. They reunited when she was 19, fell in love, broke up when she was 20, and later met again in their mid-20s. They eventually got back together, married, and built a life together.

I feel this drama is more suited for a younger audience. It leans heavily on the idea of falling in love with someone you grew up with — someone you trust, feel safe with, and believe will stay by your side for life.

Jiang Mu’s devotion to Jin Zhao was honestly 10/10. She was very straightforward and expressive about her love, but at times it became overwhelming. One scene that really bothered me was in Episode 25, when she confessed again and asked him if he would be okay with her marrying an abusive man — someone who would take her money and hurt her. She implied that if Jin Zhao let her go, he would be gambling with her future. That moment felt emotionally manipulative and unnecessary.

Overall, Speed and Love deserves an 8.5/10 from me. It’s a decent watch, and the chemistry between He Yu and Esther Yu was on another level — the eye contact, physical closeness, and kissing scenes were all top-tier. My main issue was simply that Jiang Mu’s clinginess was a bit too much for my taste.

I didn’t read the novel, so I am not sure if they adapted it nicely. I know I am late for watching this and I didn’t know why either. I just watched this because I saw Gong Jun in HELLO SATURDAY, and he looks adorable and funny.
Word Of Honor is one of the best wuxia that I watched. They said it is a BL drama, so it means it is my 2nd BL drama after The Untamed. The storyline was superb. Every character has its own good story to tell. And they tackle every person’s attitude or story why they become like that which is great.

Zhou Zi Shu & Wen Ke Xing love and understanding for each other is on another lever. They don’t even have to say it out loud. They just understand each other and read each other’s mind. I couldn’t say that it was BL ( Boys Love ) for me since what I can see is a brother/ senior juniors love maybe because it is an adaptation not the novel. The one tandem that really sticks out to me is Gu Xiang & Wen Ke Xing. Their love and loyalty as sister/brother for each other in top notch. It really made me cry. It’s so heartbreaking. This is why I didn’t see it as BL because when Gu Xiang died Wen Ke Xing doesn’t even care if he left ZZS just to kill Master Mo. And the love of Wen Ke Xing for Gu Xiang as a brother didn’t make him a fully evil master. As Wen Ke Xing said, Gu Xiang saved him from being an evil person.

Gong Jun did a great justice for Wen Ke Xing character. I really wanted to see him in another Devilish character.
Overall, this is one of the best Wuxia Drama that I watch. I'm a bit sad with the ending though. 😔

SeaKeen forever!!!

I genuinely enjoy their acting coz they are so natural, from teasing to loving. It just been only one ep yet I can feel the chemistry and Cheewa confessing so uniquely "I am not just into planets, I am into you too" was so good. I also noticed that Narin loved to tease Cheewa as he was a nerd and took every joke so seriously.

But seriously, seeing Sea as a cute nerd boy who just found his first love, trying to get close to Keen is a new form of him. I have a huge expectation from this series as I know their acting will never disappoint.

Also Cheewa not being shy and directly asking Narin directly if he can hit on him, oml!!!!

Outstanding from beginning to end

Bittersweet Love surprised me with just how good it was. This is one of those dramas where I kept expecting the pacing to slow down somewhere, but it never did. There is an extraordinary amount of story packed into only 12 episodes, yet it never felt rushed. Almost every episode moved the characters, relationships, or larger plot forward, and there was very little that felt like filler.

The acting was excellent across the board. Guan Yue was especially impressive as Xiao Fan. His transformation from a timid, naive young man into someone much more confident, capable, and self-directed was handled beautifully. The change was gradual enough that I barely noticed it happening until I looked back at the beginning and realized how different he had become. Zhou Ning Jia was equally strong as Lu Qing. He gave the character a maturity and presence that made it difficult for me to believe the actor is only 26. Even the supporting cast was consistently strong, which is not always the case in smaller productions.

The styling deserves praise as well. Xiao Fan’s development was reflected in subtle changes to his hair, clothing, glasses, posture, and overall presentation. Nothing screamed “look, he has changed now.” Instead, the visual transformation happened alongside the character development. By the end, he no longer looked or carried himself like the uncertain boy we met at the beginning.

The relationship between Xiao Fan and Lu Qing is complicated, sometimes deeply frustrating, and often painful. Lu Qing’s tendency to keep Xiao Fan in the dark drove me crazy at times, but importantly, it did not feel like one of those dramas where misunderstandings are artificially stretched out simply to fill episodes. His secrecy is fundamental to his character and to the larger plot, and eventually we understand why so much information was withheld. That did not make me any less frustrated with him, but it made the frustration feel intentional rather than lazy.

I also loved how much of the story was revealed gradually. Later episodes recontextualize things we saw much earlier without making those earlier scenes feel dishonest. Details that initially seemed small become meaningful, relationships turn out to have much deeper histories than we realized, and characters who were underestimated—both by other characters and sometimes by the audience—become far more complex.

The music was beautiful, the atmosphere remained wonderfully bittersweet throughout, and the final stretch brought together so many of the drama’s recurring themes: home, family, class, sacrifice, care, independence, and what it means to truly choose someone.

And the ending genuinely moved me. After everything these characters went through, it felt earned rather than simply handed to them.

This drama made me frustrated, anxious, amused, angry, and eventually very happy. Most importantly, it kept me completely engaged from the first episode to the last.

I would absolutely recommend Bittersweet Love, especially to viewers who like character-driven BLs where the romance is only one part of a much larger story.

And I think “Later episodes recontextualize things we saw much earlier without making those earlier scenes feel dishonest” is one of the strongest compliments you can give this particular drama. That really was one of the things it did exceptionally well.

Ma Gang Uk is GREEN GREEN

I went into this series blind and did not expect much, but it had been quite a long time since I last watched a drama starring Park Eun Bin or Yang Se Jong, so I thought, why not give it a try? I am glad I did! It was much more fun than I expected.

Both main characters were very likable. Park Eun Bin is so very versatile, and her acting is undeniable. Yang Se Jong can also portray an unserious character really well. His previous works were mostly serious, so this felt fresh and different. Ma Gang Uk's subordinates were also entertaining. Their acting felt very natural, and they were funny.

The relationship between the two main characters was also something I really supported. Their relationship feels very mature, especially on Ma Gang Uk's side. I liked the way he was very understanding towards Cheon Yeo Ri and did not push himself on her when she needed space. At the same time, Cheon Yeo Ri became more easygoing and trusting towards the people close to her after spending so much time with Ma Gang Uk.

The downsides for me were:
1/ Although the ghosts were the "center" of the story and what brought the two main characters together, they suddenly became almost completely absent and forgotten in the later episodes.
2/ I forgot which episode it was, but when Ma Gang Uk was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car, he suddenly appeared in front of Cheon Yeo Ri, and she thought he was a spirit and had died. Only when she hugged him did she realize that he was actually real. It was super weird to me because he had a cardiac arrest just minutes before. There is noooo way the hospital would allow him to just walk around already.

Other than that, it was fine. The antagonists were all annoying, so that's good, I guess. Happy to see Ong Seong Wu in a drama again.

A generic rom-com that doesn't go anywhere

A generic romance comedy, with a little bit of action, lack of suspense and weak narrative. Honestly, the series is poorly written. The premise is good but it's so inconsistent. Let's not even get into whether it's realistic or not; it's simply not believable. The characters are poorly written, even for a rom-com, with an abundance of illogical inconsistencies.

The pacing is horribly slow and more than half of the time, there's just nothing going on. The chemistry lacks between the leads and a missing sense of excitement to see them on the screen. One of the biggest problems here is that there is no central conflict in the story that’s worth caring about. There is no such intrigue that a villain usually brings to the story. But that’s not the biggest thing to worry about, because the leads are nothing extraordinary themselves. Here every plotline moves simultaneously, so there is no starting point to follow. It’s not convoluted, thankfully, but it’s not easy on the eye either.

The performances were not great. None of the characters are written effectively and the story doesn't support their growth either. The FL was better, however the chemistry felt forced. The supporting were just an addition that were totally forgettable. There were so many loose ends in the narrative, that it genuinely is laughable. Technically, the show has great aesthetics and decent background score, but it couldn't save the chaotic story of 'Our Sticky Love'.

My take - There are dozens of good rom-coms with a plot, go revisit them again instead of this.

Beautiful, But I Fought for My Life Trying to Get Into It

I really tried to like this one, y’all, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t working for me.

First, the cinematography is undeniably beautiful. There are some genuinely gorgeous shots here, and visually, the drama is absolutely doing its thing. Unfortunately, most of the time, it also felt like that was the main thing keeping me watching.

The pacing is excruciatingly slow. I know a full-length C-drama needs time to establish its world and characters, and I don't necessarily expect everything to happen in the first episode. But at some point, I do need the story to give me a reason to care. Usually, if a drama doesn't grab me in episode 1, episode 2 is where I'm willing to give it another chance. Here? I was still waiting.

I saw several fellow commenters saying that things really pick up after episode 4, so I kept going. And going. And going. Unfortunately, I never had that “ohhh, NOW I get it” moment. I genuinely can't remember the last time I had to put this much effort into simply convincing myself to watch a drama.

The pacing aside, I also struggled to connect with the characters. The FL, especially in the first few episodes, felt more like someone being presented than an actual character. She's constantly being groomed, dressed, washed, combed, attended to by servants… and while I understand that this reflects the circumstances and expectations placed on a young woman from a noble family in that era, I still needed to see something of her underneath all of that. A personality, a particular trait, some spark that would make me want to root for her. I just wasn't getting it.

And then there's the ML. I love DYX, which is honestly a huge part of why I tried so hard to stick with this one, but I have to be honest: his portrayal here just didn't work for me. Some moments felt overly performed rather than naturally acted, and the whole thing occasionally veered into very “idol actor mode.” I know he can act, which is why this was particularly disappointing for me. Maybe it's the character direction, maybe it's the performance choices, but either way, I wasn't connecting with it.

At episode 7, I'm officially tapping out. 😭 I really wanted to love this one, especially because of DYX, but at this point watching it has started feeling more like homework than entertainment, and life is simply too short for that. Maybe it eventually becomes everything everyone says it does, but unfortunately, I won't be around to find out. 😂 For those still watching, I genuinely hope it clicks for you and you're having a much better time than I did!

I Ate This Up, No Crumbs Left

F4 Boys Over Flowers Thai version is 10/10. If you want to watch a live adaptation of the source material and haven’t seen any and can’t figure out which one to watch, choose Thai.

After sitting through the entire Korean version back in the day, this remake is the ultimate glow-up. It addresses the class divide and toxic bullying tropes with maturity, giving us actual human beings with depth instead of cartoon caricatures. The production quality for a Covid-era drama is insane, and the soundtrack absolutely ate, carrying the emotional weight of every single scene. If you want a masterclass in how to successfully adapt a classic, dramatic cliché story, this is it.

Rating: 10/10 — The Absolute Blueprint

The Korean Version vs. The Thai Upgrade

I watched the entire Korean version back in the day, and let’s be real—it did not pass the vibe check for power dynamics. If my memory serves, Gu Jun-pyo was giving straight-up toxicity and physical violence. It treated severe bullying like a quirky plot device and completely failed to address the power divide well. The Thai remake is a massive, undeniable glow-up. It actually addresses the class divide and bullying without making the characters feel like cartoon caricatures. They feel like actual human beings with depth, not just walking tropes.

The Ultimate Female Lead Glow-Up

Let’s talk about the absolute blueprint that is Tu as Gorya because she was the biggest upgrade of the entire show. In the Korean version, the actress just wasn’t cutting it. I get that the character isn’t supposed to be some glamorous beauty, but she still needed to have a sense of femininity, and the K-drama completely missed the mark on that. Tu the other hand, was everything. Her acting was so impressive, and she managed to be incredibly grounded, relatable, and feminine while still being a total badass who could hold her own.

A Chaotic But Healthier Romance

Because Gorya could actually stand her ground, the romance between the main couple felt so much better to watch. Don’t get me wrong, Thyme and Gorya are still extremely chaotic, but they aren’t as toxic. They’re just codependent. There are definitely still heavy power dynamics at play, but their relationship felt infinitely healthier than the absolute disaster of Jun-pyo and Jan-di. Bright completely understood the assignment with Thyme’s character growth, and his acting was great. Their chemistry made the madness work, and they did a phenomenal job bringing that messy, classic romance to life.

Team Ren Forever

But real talk? If I were Gorya, I would simply not choose Thyme. I would have settled for Ren in a heartbeat and never looked back. Dew as Ren was the only guy I was truly rooting for the entire time. His confession scene in episode 15 had me straight-up bawling my eyes out because I knew exactly what was coming for him, and it broke me. He deserved the world.

Elite Production & Acting

For a drama filmed during Covid, the production value is a massive flex. Every single scene felt high-tier and visually gorgeous. The main squad, including Win as Kavin and Nani as MJ, was so incredibly young when they filmed this, but their acting was so grounded. You can visibly see their character development throughout the show instead of them just staying flat. Even the older actors killed it—Cindy Sirinya Bishop, who played Thyme’s mom, Rosalyn, was so unbelievably good at being evil it was terrifying.

God-Tier Soundtrack & The Cliché Lore

Yes, the source material is fundamentally goofy. We have the classic wealthy CEO heir x broke girl dynamic and they even threw in the ridiculous, chaotic amnesia arc at the very end. Honestly? These clichés are exactly why this story still has a chokehold on readers and viewers globally. They are classics for a reason, but the specific spin the Thai drama put on them is really good. What truly added depth to the entire show was the soundtrack. The music was flawless and elevated every single moment. It made the intense scenes exciting, the heavy scenes dark, and the emotional scenes completely heartbreaking. It is a definite upgrade and easily one of the best remakes to ever exist.

I would say, if you want to watch a quality coming of each Asian drama, don’t get discouraged that this story has a Chinese and the Korean remake. Thai remake is very very good and you will enjoy watching it.
