I just want to praise the ML - reason for the review...
This drama, especially for a short or vertical drama, is really good. I like the MLs acting—so far, in all the vertical dramas I’ve seen him in, he’s exceeded my expectations. He may not be conventionally handsome, but the way he acts makes him attractive to me. After watching his dramas, I sometimes find myself fantasizing about having someone like him—LOL. That’s how good he is as an actor. As for the FL, she’s quite young, especially next to him, but that actually adds to the charm and makes the drama enjoyable to watch. I would recommend watching this—it won’t waste your time. As I mentioned, I’ve already watched it twice, and I still liked it just as much the first time around.Was this review helpful to you?

Not for Cosmopolitan people, normalizes Stagnation
I couldn't relate to this drama.I found the overall life philosophy all wrong.
I've been thinking what exactly I found wrong:
Romantizising sacrifice and being an eternal victim. Martyrdom Complex.
Especially normalizing women sacrifizing all for family.
Normalizing giving up dreams rather than AT LEAST trying to move forward EVEN A LITTLE.
A drama about STAGNATION and Anti-selfgrowth.
To me life is about moving forward and improving your circumstances, not accepting your circumstances.
Even if the process is slow and hard, it's much better than this ETERNAL VICTIMHOOD this drama disgustingly praises...
EXPLORATION, rather than just being stuck in a small island all life....
This drama is definitely not for more cosmopolitan city people or multiligual people who enjoy travel...
Drama more for people who grew up in small towns similarly to the leads...

I love everything except of some of my concerns. I FREAKING LOVE that Zhou Yiran and Bai Tianyang are cast again in a c-drama. I also love the acting of baobao, she's cute yet her voice isn't childish (AHEM!). They have a good chemistry. AND I cracked when I saw the fiancee of Cai Zhao, it's one of my favorite actors in short c-dramas.😭

A Mind-Blowing Series That Truly Caught Me Off Guard
What I want to say about Revenged Love, it’s truly an amazing series. I honestly don’t remember the last time I enjoyed a show this much after "Love in the Air" (Thai series). I’ve watched so many series since then, but this one completely caught me off guard.The acting is absolutely mind-blowing. The actors are incredibly handsome—WoSo Wei’s cuteness, Chi Cheng’s attitude, Guo ChengYu’s cunning smile, and of course, the doctor’s innocent expressions… each one leaves a lasting impression.
Everything about this series kept me hooked till the very end. The comedy is top-notch, the emotions are overwhelming, the friendship feels genuine, and the love is beautifully non-judgmental.
However, one thing I didn’t quite like is how BL series often prioritize the main couple over the second one. I’ve always found second couples just as cute and sweet, and here too, the doctor and Guo ChengYu deserved more screen time. Even if their relationship wasn’t as central, it still had the potential to feel deeper and more complete.
That said, if you’re feeling stressed, this is definitely a must-watch. It has everything to lift your mood, I laughed so much while watching it.
Overall, it was an incredible journey… and honestly, it’s a must rewatch.

Hooked From Start to End --- But Left Wanting More
Well, I must say, watching the series in one go is absolutely amazing.Yeah, I watched the whole series in one sitting: from episode 1 to 9.
I really appreciate the actors’ performances, their beautiful and elegant appearances, and their overall aura. I also loved the entire setup, the environment, the atmosphere, the storytelling, and the direction.
I haven’t read the novel; I started this series because of its positive and motivating reviews.
Still, I genuinely feel they should have given stronger BL vibes from episode 1. The interactions between the two leads felt more like bromance than actual romance at first. It was only after three or four episodes when He ChuSan kissed Lui Yi in his dream, that it truly started to feel like a BL series.
Also, the second leads felt a bit underdeveloped. Their relationship lacked depth, and the interactions between the cops needed more screen time and emotional intensity.
Even the second leads weren’t truly in love, but since their relationship was built on revenge, it should have been explored with more intensity and intimate moments to make it feel complete and believable.
Overall, the series shouldn’t have been limited to just 9 episodes, it needed more room to grow. And if it ends like this, then there has to be a Season 2.
I’m genuinely looking forward to it.

Eternal Yesterday is easily one of the best BLs ever created. It’s painfully underrated, despite being so deeply emotional and beautifully told. The story is incredibly compelling, and the actors pour their hearts into their roles, bringing the characters to life in a way that connects directly with your own. Nice twists but weak plot
As much as I love the main characters and their chemistry- the plot started to fall really weak somewhere early on to be honest. But let's start with the positives!PROS: I mentioned it before but the chemistry between the two main leads were awesome! I genuinely loved their love story despite the back and forth but that kind of thing is kind of common to see in cdramas so I guess you can say that I got used to it lol.
I know for some people, the episodes containing their mortal lifetimes felt like too much filler but I really loved watching them because to some degree, they mattered. I do think they could have condensed it a little bit but all in all, it was fine :)
CONS: So there's quite a bit of cons here for me personally so I'll do my best to go through them.
I mentioned the plot falling weak at some point but honestly? It was more in waves then it was a steady decline. It had moments where the show would pick itself back up and then fall into a fat pit of bs.
I want to start off with the second main couple of this drama. Their relationship was honestly...ridiculous to watch. Mainly because of Lu Yao (second female lead). She was unbelievably insufferable in so many ways. I don't mind female leads being stubborn and strong-headed, my issue with her was the weird beef she had with Hong Ning (main female lead) and her odd fondness towards her brother, Lu Jiu, despite having little to NO relationship with him.
Yes, you do see little clips where they DID interact with each other but I swear, it's like the same two clips consistently repeating throughout the show as if this was the directors way of saying "this is why she cares for her brother!" which is both really weak and pathetic to me. The ironic thing though is Lu Jiu kept denying her and never saw her as family throughout the show which I liked because it's more or less realistic. And no, she honestly did nothing to better their relationship expect pushing all of his boundaries. However, they ruined it at the end where she more or less was going to die and all of a sudden, he acknowledges her as his sister???
As for weird beef with Hong Ning made like...no sense. Yes, she was justify to be upset initially when her wedding with Jin Xiu fell through because of Hong Ning. But at the same time, Lu Yao never loved Jin Xiu and even said it was for political reasons. So her weird hatred continuing despite so much time passing never settled well with me at all.
Now onto my biggest annoyance of the show and the biggest weak point of the show was Bai Cha, one of our main villain. His reasons for being a villain in the first place was already weak as shit. I won't discredit that he didn't go through a hard time and faced injustice by the divine beings because he did! He really did but for whatever odd reason, that wasn't what fueled him at all.
What basically broke the camel's back is he believed that Hong Ning was going to abandon him once she comes an immortal. Throughout the show, he more or less becomes more unhinged like any villain would but he did it in a way where at some point, it just didn't make much sense. Like- it strayed away from his original reason as to why he became the way he did in the first place.
The longer you watch him plot against Jin Xiu and everyone else, the more you're just sitting there saying "But why? what is the point of doing this bro? you proved your point, move on already." It became such a drag and at the end, it felt so ridiculously pointless that I couldn't help but just sigh from relief when he dies. Not because I was happy that they "overcame evil" but that he was so pointless to the overall plot that it just felt like taking a breath of fresh air after he dies.
He honestly felt like he was there purely to just give the main characters something to do/overcome just because and nothing more LOL
Last but not least- this one a little minor compared to everything else I've written but I wanted to still point it out. Cdramas never always had the most amazing cgi's or whatnot but for some reason, this drama in particular was really lacking in cgi skills. There are some blatant mistakes and a bunch of weird cuts you see in the show that really breaks the immersion.

Worth the Hype.... Just go for it.
I just finished watching Duang with you, and honestly, it’s a solid 10/10. This show is absolutely beautiful in every sense—storytelling, characters, and emotional depth all come together perfectly. The characters feel so real and well-developed that you can’t help but get attached to them.It truly lives up to all the hype and then some. By the end, I was left speechless—it’s one of those rare shows that’s hard to describe because of how deeply it resonates. I loved every moment of it, and it’s definitely something I’ll remember for a long time.

The Plot: A Radioactive Domino Effect
The story begins at a recycling yard where a massive fire reveals a dangerous secret: the site served as a front for illegal e-waste smuggling containing Cesium-137, a highly radioactive isotope. The film splits into two battlefronts: The Political Front: Simon Fan (Andy Lau), a radiation expert and former minister, faces off against bureaucracy and the indecision of the Acting Chief Executive, Cecilia Wong (Karen Mok). The conflict here centers on transparency: evacuate the city and cause panic, or try to contain the leak in secret? The Frontline: A team of firefighters, led by Kit (Bai Yu), enters "ground zero" initially unaware of the invisible radiation threat. The personal drama is heightened by the fact that Kit blames Simon for a past family tragedy.
Strengths: Visuals and Effects: For a budget outside the Hollywood standard, the visual effects are impressive. The scenes of a post-apocalyptic Hong Kong (visions of what would happen if containment failed) are visually striking. The Return of Karen Mok: After years away from the big screen, Mok delivers a sharp performance as a pragmatic politician who serves as the perfect foil to Lau’s idealism. Social Commentary: The film isn't afraid to touch on real-world wounds, such as the issue of e-waste shipped from developed countries to Asia and corporate negligence in favor of profit.
Weaknesses: Excessive Melodrama: As is common in Hong Kong blockbusters, the tone sometimes leans too heavily into sentimentality, featuring epic soundtracks and sacrifices that verge on cliché. Uneven Pacing: The transition between tense political debates and frantic firefighting action may feel disjointed to some viewers.
Cesium Fallout is a "blockbuster with a brain." It delivers the visual spectacle expected from a disaster film but leaves a necessary, bitter aftertaste regarding how corruption and technological waste can be just as lethal as a nuclear bomb.

thrilling
i think y'all should stop going too much into the technical aspect and start enjoying the drama for what is it and take it as a entertainment. As for as the reviews i have seen for this drama they are mostly questioning only the technical aspects like what did the school authorities do, why did they not wish for the app to stop. I think taking the drama for what it is and enjoying it doesn't reveal much of the shortcomings. Only when you view the drama to keep questioning and finding fault those thing come into play therefore just watch the drama without thinking too much and enjoy it. It is a thoroughly well made drama for me. It made me really get curious about shamanism also. overall a great watch.Was this review helpful to you?
A dark and depressing diamond of a detection Drama
one of the best murder mystery dramas I've seen with credible competent police investigation shown. The acting was top notch, with no duds & the 3 leads - Luo Jin in a dual role, Wang Zi Wen as the victim/catalyst and You Nan as the single-minded intelligent lead detective, all shone.The drama was very downbeat, but realistically so. That realism showed in the color palette, the cinematography, and even the makeup. No chance of a Foundation General scandal here.
The twists and turns the story took kept me guessing, the raw emotions driving the characters, and the very matter of fact, low key smarts of the police team were all outstanding features of this excellent Drama

Rare historical drama with medical/forensic centered plot
TBH, i just watched this for Ao Ruipeng, and indeed he served (acting, visual, performance, and etc.) But what made me stay was the intriguing chain of mysteries that slowly build into the main and final conflict. This drama actually made me feel like a detective, investigating cases alongside with the MCs, maybe that's another reason why i liked it so much. Another to note is the unusually large royal family with many princes and princesses (bc in typical royal family historical drama, they don't have much relative left due to... well bc everyone is eyeing the throne) but this one made me believe that royalty can have peace with their relatives (ofc if handled nicely). Anyway, i recommend this to those people wanting intriguing drama not just revolving unnecessary romantic angst but the actual plot surrounding the MCs. If you also want a soft, fluffy, and cute romance with so much chemistry between the leads, then this one if for you.Was this review helpful to you?

Could have been so much more...
Now, in general, I really wanted to like this show. Gangster BL drama hello?? sign me up. however, it did not live up to expectations... at all.It started out quite well with the story building and Xia Liu Yi's introduction was the coolest. And we have some great scenes like.. Chu San getting a hard on when they're hiding from the gangsters ;) And Xia Liu Yi becoming the gang leader after the death of his sister. So the show has had it's moments, but that's it. From start to finish they were just circling around each other, which can be great, but there is a line like hello.
Somehow their most passionate kiss ended up being a dream in like episode 4??? And why did Chu San say he had a disorder that made him more womanish/childish? That was one of the many things that felt so unnecessary, like Chu San's confession in ep 9, which felt rushed and unnatural, like it was put into the storyline to quicken things up. And when Xia Liu Yi was going so crazy finding Chu San in the last episode I just didn't really believe it, because it feels like their relationship hasn't has a chance to grow at all. Like I wanted to see some development between them, some more explored feelings, something. I think that's also the reason why i loved the second couple so much more, because there was that push/pull factor that made them interesting to watch. But I will say, the ending where Chu San taught the gangsters how to make money was quite funny.
So all in all, this show had huge potential to be something great, but it fell flat quite quickly and was overall just frustrating.

Showering Chang’an with Fire and Blood
Witnessing the slaughter of his whole family, Xie Huai’an is forced to fend for himself since 10years old, moving from place to place to evade his enemies the Hubei Army with a little sister in tow and losing her later, until he came upon the remote land of Huainan where he decided to be his home. Working quietly as a small registrar, he knew he had only two ways to live, to stay in remote place such as Huainan or head to the capital to become a court official. Opportunity finally came when the son of the previous emperor (elder brother of current emperor) marched forward and captured the capital. Hearing the survival of Lie Clan Xie Huai’an, the new emperor summoned him to the capital and appointed him as his sword, to hunt down Yan Fengshan, the commander of Hubei Army and most influencial court official, which aligned with Huai’an’s mission for revenge. He gladly accepted and thus began his journey of vengeance only to find himself embroiled with a much bigger struggle than his vendetta.Tong Mengshi who played Ye Zheng was the one that led me to this show, to my surprise it’s another of Cheng Yi’s work that I have been meaning to watch since last year and had forgotten. Tong mengshi was awesome here! I missed Joy of Life’s Wuzhu, so it’s great to see him again with a main role and real dialogues than mere robotic phrases spoken. He was very good here, acting and action-wise. His fights were fierce and forceful, and of course bloody too. And man it is such a satisfaction to see Su Changlin being taken down by Xiao Wangyu, he was such a snob after hurting Ye Zheng so badly and for using Ye Zheng’s shimei, the arrogance was a real pain to watch!
Cheng Yi has gone back up again in my rating after his flop in The Journey of Legend. Yeah I am now convinced that he fits more with roles that doesnt need romance to prop his character. And his crying here is done remarkably well compared to TJoL. Although his character Xie Huai’an is more scholarly with no martial prowess whose moves rely more on strategy than brawn, he definitely doesnt shy away from physical fights. The ruthless stabbings, whether he as inflictor or receiver, are heinously brutal. Sometimes I forget that Xie Huai’an doesnt know any martial art, cuz he doesn’t rely much on his more athletic sword-wielding friends. He makes use of the surrounding people and situations well, and he definitely doesn’t need anyone to come rescue him. This character is someone that can be thrown into a river of fire (literally) and the next moment you blinked he’s already crawling out of it somewhere in the distance where you least expected it. That is why even the King of Tiemo sees him as his biggest threat, even bigger than the invincible Yan Fengshan or the current emperor Xiao Wangyu.
The sad scenes here are considerably touching and heartfelt. It was heartbreaking when Bai Wan was recounting her earliest memories of her brother when they were on the run, while the rest of the people who listened actually knew who her brother was and where he was located, exactly next to her! But nobody said anything, as Xie Huai’an is adamant that her sister won’t be dragged into his revenge mission. OMG I was so sad for her and Huai’an. So close yet also so far apart. Though I could not understand why she is included in the main cast when her role ceased to be part of the plot even before half of the show.
I really liked the way this story is executed, the ups and downs and unexpected hits that befell on our main characters with ML racking his brains to improvise and come up with twisty strategies. What’s more surprising is I became more invested in the deposed emperor Xiao Wencheng’s interaction with his oblivious elder brother who deposed him. I really like this fake Zhang Mo character, the screenwriter managed to turn him into a very likable one as opposed to the start of the show when he ruthlessly took down ML’s beloved pageboy. His transformation and growth looked much closer to reality when despite being able to grow some spine during his adventure with Xie Huai’an’s gang, he was still torn between saving his brother or the citizen of Chang’an against Tiemo’s assault, and reverted to his cowardly nature, which cost his brother a whole lot more than a simple promise of King of Tiemo’s “to let him stay alive,”. Fake Zhang Mo is a coward by nature, although I was dumbfounded when the plot turned that way, I had to admit that this is very much expected of him according to this preset characteristics. And I must say his devotion and worry for Xie Huai’an and the elder brother who usurped his throne was very touching, and his banter with Ye Zheng never ceased to be amusing.
Love the action choreograph! They worked hard on this. Even though the plot and its twists were barely at par with Nirvana in Fire, I had to say the show is overloaded with action after action more than NiF, eventhough our ML Xie Huai’an know squat of martial art. Ye Zheng, Xie Wangyu, Yan Fengshan, Wang Pu, Su Changlin…gosh I cant even list everyone down cuz there are so many characters who had executed the action scenes remarkably well. And boy the final battle against the big boss was so fierce and gripping!
The song by Sa Dingding is so awesome i keep hearing it in my head. The lyrics are forlorn yet prideful and the melody makes you wanna hum with it.
Be warned, this is a very dark and gory show, with plot so twisty I had to rewind quite a lot to get a grip of its flow. Blood is spilled senselessly onscreen episode after episode, AND there is no romance whatsoever. Consider yourselves warned.
