Guessable

10 Stars for female characters and actresses. All women could perform their own role, different apart from one another. However, male characters or actors act very very similar. They do not only look similar in their appearance (2 pairs of men are so similar), they also act like they have the same personality. These men are similar to those men in Blossoms of Power (2026). They all act the same. I do not know why the producers or directors do not ask these actors to perform as different persons. I believe these actors could do it. They are human with a good career (or maybe with good acting skills), they are not robot.

Cute, so, so cute

This drama was just what I needed, does it actually deserve 8,5 objectively definitely no, but somehow it wheeled me in from the start and had me hooked all the way to the end, not wanting to let it go making me ignore such things that would normally annoy me such as second hand embarrassment, misunderstandings and over the top characters. But somehow I just didn't care and kept wanting more.

The story has so many old tropes, you would get Bingo ina trope card during the first episode,...

Was it highly predictable - yes

Did it lack all substance- also yes

Did I at times feel like I was in a Made in Korea infomericial/PPL fest K-everything.... Also YES; YES, YES

And again I couldn't care less, the characters are sweet, the smiles hit home and the hot n cold romance is just sooo cute. so are the friendships, the mom and a ll the small details where just so cute from the cats, to the plants to the smiles, cuteness overload.

So if you are in the mood for some cliches, a sweet romance, k-stuff and can handle some second hand embarrassment this is a really good choice.

The ratings are pretty good, but why does the story like a short drama?

Honestly, I didn't have very high expectations for romance dramas these days, especially ones adapted from web novels or novels. But seeing how high the ratings are, I got curious and decided to give this drama a try.

I feel like this drama was carried quite a bit by JBR's acting. Aside from him, I found the performances from most of the other actors pretty average. I even felt that Sun Qian's performance was a little below her usual standard in this drama, especially when she has to act angry or cry, it feels kind a awkward and unnatural. As for the BGM and music, nothing really stood out or stayed in my mind. The only one I found interesting was the opening song, which has a unique ethnic vibe to it.

The cinematography and camera angles were also nothing particularly special. So, naturally, I put most of my expectations on the story, especially since the main appeal of this drama seemed to be its story and cast.

Unfortunately, the story didn't really work for me.

The career development of the main leads was actually quite interesting to watch. I enjoyed the tricks, schemes, and challenges they had to deal with, as well as seeing how they handled those situations. I also liked how the ML supported the FL, even if he often did it with his usual harsh words. He's basically a certified "tsundere" and probably deserves the award for best trash talker of the year.

Unfortunately, their love story was a completely different matter. It sometimes felt like watching a cheap short drama with the classic cold, rude CEO and a naive girl who falls for him because he's handsome and have brilliant career. The conflicts kept repeating themselves and always seemed to revolve around the same issues without really going anywhere. The ML was constantly harsh and arrogant, while the FL kept making the same mistakes without realizing how much they were affecting their relationship.

Their poor communication and long-distance relationship only made things worse. At times, their relationship felt more like two childish people constantly hurting each other than a mature couple who had been together for years.

And honestly, this is probably where the story lost me the most.

Happy endings are usually easier to find in dramas and fiction than in real life, and this drama is no exception. After being together for so many years, I feel like they should have realized that they simply weren't that compatible, especially when they had such different views on how a relationship should work. I honestly think they would be happier going their separate ways, without having to be involved in each other’s lives anymore.

But of course, I understand why the story had to end this way. It's hard to imagine a web novel author giving their characters a truly unhappy ending after making readers follow their relationship for so long. Obviously, the readers would’ve given the novel terrible ratings and left some really nasty comments about it if it had ended unhappy ending. So, in the end, we just have to accept the main leads getting back together and eventually having a child.

why? wae? 왜?

Frustrating till the last second.
It was so very promising for the first couple of episodes, and then….

Apart from all these odd supporting roles making no sense…
That Seong Chan playing the frustrated third party?
That A-sol popping out of the blue just to mess things up?
Both without an actual backstory or a structured character, just puppets showing up in the oddest way possible, just to account for this continuous, unbelievable sequence of misunderstandings…

And then, what about the two of them? How should I call it? Masochism? Idiocy? Lack of self-respect?
Ten years spent this way? Parting ways because of… conflicting schedules? Fine, you’re insane. But then what?!? The never-ending comedy of errors? Seriously?!?
Is it so complicated to talk to each other and clear things up?!?

And after all that? Good-bye? After all this pain?

I’m so irritated.
Really: why ruin it all with such an idiotic story?!?!?

Rated 5 just to save the truly wonderful OST and cinematography.

light, cute, warm and charming.

It was light, cute, warm and charming. I loved their chemistry. I always like the small country side dramas. Refreshing to see how some of the people of the area lives and how close they are to each other (like family(
This series gave the typical city guy who goes back to his old town and fall in love.
Though it was predictable, you know cliche leaves the city come to the country side and fall in love, it was still enjoyable because of the characters.

Try-to-be-MadMax Korean film

This is the try-to-be-MadMax Korean film, like, the dystopia and with problem about water, and someone with clean water got the power. However, I do not blame them for being a big fan of Mad Max, because everyone loves Mad Max. The thing I do not like about this film is the "Women in refrigerators" trope. It's when the female characters got captured or got hurt, and that motivate male characters to save her or even revenge.

Needed more doom, didn't come close to its obvious inspirations, but enjoyable nonetheless

I'm learning that crime-centered plots are hard to write with enough complexity and without losing steam. Despite this story not being original at all, it worked reasonably well right until the end, with the last episode being a total failure on all fronts. Did they completely run out of money and drive or what? The acting was also just good enough for a non-BL (Off, Neo, and Dew probably gave my favorite performances), though it sometimes falls apart (most noticeably with Singha and Tee), and certain heightened emotions didn't convince me, and some supposedly life-threatening situations lacked the necessary urgency.

I found out in the middle of my watch-through that this is "just" bromance (I really need to start reading the tags), which is fine because I believe this subgenre can do some things better than straight-up romance. But this show unfortunately only intermittently gave me what I was looking for. Still, I must give everyone their flowers. Kaye looking all pensively at Phat cooking him breakfast, and Phat pulling a gun on Nop, telling him to drive after Nop says Kaye won't make it out of this—that's the shit. Even if I've seen it all before, I'm never going to get sick of such moments.

I think for this to actually work they would've had to commit to a certain degree of tragedy (I believe in you, GMMTV), be it death or separation or, you know, any real danger with lasting consequences. Otherwise the stakes don't work for me, I can't take the relationship seriously, and it takes the enjoyment out of the leads' delectable emotional turmoil. You cannot give the main characters too much of what they want; half the fun is in what they can't have despite desperately wishing for it. And no, Praew's tribulations, the uncle's death, and the short-lived loss of contact at the end don't count because Kaye and Phat weren't seriously distraught for a significant chunk of time.

THIS WAS PERFECT!!!

THIS WAS PERFECT!!! From the acting to the storyline.
I didn't have to skip through. It wasn't boring. The leads displayed amazing chemistry.
Listen! I thought they were going to say they were brothers or something!!! But I wont say much to spoil it.
Despite all the sacrifices and hardships, they all pulled through and even the village.
It showed a different view of this historical drama. It wasn't focused on the King and his "politics".
So I believe this was different.
Anyways, if you read all my reviews, I am always in it for a happy ending.

Highly recommend and this is on my rewatch list!!!!

you might just like it!

It wasn't bad at all. It was entertaining and then some parts became boring (maybe last 2-3 episodes. I don't like unnecessary characters popping up out of nowhere. The storyline was a 7/10 for me.
I think the leads had great chemistry.
I am happy for the characters at the end but it wasn't all that. It could have been better.
Now, the question is, **NO SPOILER** that man at the end, out of everyone, he survived????? Got me thinking there will be a season 2?
Now what will season 2 be about though? Will it be more on the politics side?
Still give it a watch, you might just like it!

Problematic gender bias

Again with Korean film, with horror genre about Buddhism. And the theme is to blame women to every bad thing happened, and in contrast, they portrayed men as the one who solved the problem. I do not want to blame the actors or actresses. The negative outcome is based on the plot itself. I hope their viewers are fine and do not take this serious.

this is a must watch!

I loved the fighting (in a good way) lol they got some skills.
Overall despite the bad students, it was very entertaining. It www so funny to see how he can take so much notes and be organized but can’t pass a test 😂
I am glad he found “his” people and everyone helped each other to achieve their main goal for school.
I wouldn’t want a season 2. I think it ended perfectly. We can only assume, they did well (especially the ML) on their exams and passed to their colleges of choice.
Because what would part 2 be about?

If you want a short, entertaining high school drama with no romance, then this is a must watch!

MBMB, you had me looking forward to mondays and tuesdays!!!

I loved this drama SO much!! It definitely had its ups and downs in the later half but honestly, I’m still giving it a 10/10 for how it made me feel throughout the show. While it was airing, I was genuinely so excited and looked forward to Mondays and Tuesdays just so I could watch my fav drama 😭

Considering it’s a romcom, obviously we all expected a little more romance, but I guess all the little cute things throughout the show from the very beginning somehow kept us hooked. And the leads, especially Kang Hoon, did SUCH an amazing job with all the little silly cutesy acts!!!!! Like pls 😭 I’ve been following Kang Hoon’s work for quite a long time and it was really nice seeing him as a lead in a romcom, and he did it SO well. Hagi was just so cute and I loved watching him in this!!

I genuinely loved the entire cast and it really felt like everyone put their heart into this production. There was just something very warm about watching all of them.

And Dareum’s character was probably one of my fav parts of the drama because getting to see everything from a fan’s POV was just so relatable. Her being a fan, chasing her dreams and being so motivated because of her bias… I feel like that hit very close to every fan’s heart.

I just REALLY wish we had 16 eps instead of 12 because it felt way too short to wrap everything up. The last ep especially felt so rushed?? It was like they had to quickly touch up on everyone’s lives and somehow get everything under wrap in one episode. I would've loved to see all of that unfold a little more naturally.

And PLEASE, I needed more of Dareum and Hagi actually dating. We got all these cute little moments throughout the drama and then when we finally could've gotten more of their dating era... it was already ending?? 🥲

But despite all of that, I’m still giving this one a 10/10, mostly because of how much happiness it gave me while watching it. Sometimes a drama just becomes your drama while it's airing, and this was definitely one of those for me <3

Would REALLY love to see the main leads together in another drama because I’m not ready to let them go just yet :’)

refreshing & charming

The main leads are such cry babies and are super cute in their roles.
This drama was refreshing, charming and its suspense/mystery side.
The older women in typical dramas are always so miserable lol but come around after a while.
Overall, I enjoyed it and for the ending, are saying they didn’t have their own little family? If so, that sucks but at least their love is strong and deep.

I think it is emotional but overly hyped on TikTok

my review is from 2022 (google) - just adding it here.
Why so much hate??? Y’all are just so miserable and hard to please.
It was a decent drama. It showed reality of what some persons are going through.
Personally, it got a bit draggy even though they showed different persons and their lifestyles.
I think it is emotional but overly hyped on TikTok about being a heart wrenching drama. I only teared up when the old man passed of natural causes.
I thought those 2 from past lives would get back together - but that didn’t happen so there is no romance with any of the leads.
