"Romantic" Medical Drama

Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim is about Kim Sabu, the genius doctor who exiled himself in small hospital on countryside.

Actually, I watched this at the past on my friend's laptop and didn't finish it so I rewatched again two days ago. Ten years late and I really feel the old vibe kdrama. How the story progessed and every character portrayed are very 2016s.

What I love the most is how they capture the "intense" vibe from the hospital emergency unit. Every patient also has its own story and every case is unique especially for me as a muggle. I learn a lot.

The plot and acting is good. The writing could've been done better. Not really fan about the politics and the higher ups plot. Also I hope the better development for some characters.

Otherwise it's still fun to watch. Maybe cause this drama hold a good memories for me or what but I still really enjoyed it

This is for the people that are thinking about watching this. I'm giving you my honest opinion

I'm gonna say when it gets episode eight and nine it's very slow now if you love slow movies and shows you might fall in love with it, but I personally didn't like it. I did watch it all the way through because I was already too far to drop it. It was painfully cringe and bad. My problem with this show is the plot was kinda all over the place it was too much for me and then to say the chemistry between them was completely off it really wasn't about love. It really questioned my sanity while I was watching it. It was very confusing. It wasn't straight to the point. They kind of dragged it out. I'm saying this for people that don't have a lot of time and you want people's honest review I'm giving it to you because the cd have way too many long episodes which could be good and bad depending on if you like it and and this is a show I wouldn't recommend but you have to go and see for yourself. I do have some C dramas that I would recommend if you need anything. I have some cd that you actually want to sit down for a long time and watch it hit me up if you want any. sorry for just being long. Just wanted to make sure I got every part .byeee✌🏾

Romantic thriller about privileged teenagers — an intense work beyond appearances

Review with images, spoiler marks and more: https://www.reddit.com/user/_sunoh/comments/1ljwqtb/hierarchy_review_an_intense_work_beyond/

---

Hierarchy is a drama that, behind an apparent classic structure — elite school, bullying, revenge — stands out precisely through its ability to go further, delivering a human, emotional, and above all, resolved story. And that is its strength.

The story doesn’t need a sequel because it is complete. Kang Ha gets the truth he seeks, and justice is served. No blind revenge, no spectacular payback, but a quest for meaning, understanding, and repair. The drama doesn't dwell on the brutality of bullying as often seen elsewhere, it chooses a more subtle, mature, realistic tone. And that makes all the difference.

Kang Ha, as a central figure, disrupts the established order through his academic excellence, courage and emotional intelligence. The way he prevents the sharing of the video, or his heartbreaking line to Ri An — “Learn to live with your guilt because I will never accept your apology” — gives the whole story its meaning: a life lesson, not a revenge tale.

Every line of dialogue matters, every word carries weight, and it’s in these exchanges that Hierarchy finds its full scope. The final episode is especially striking: intense, accomplished, and deeply moving.

Jae I herself embodies the ambivalence that makes the characters so human. Both victim and witness, stoic yet wounded, she perfectly illustrates the emotional complexity the drama aims to convey. Her performance, subtle and restrained, makes her a memorable character, just like Kang Ha, whose portrayal literally carries the drama. Moreover, all the main characters—and many others—add depth and nuance to the story.

Far from being a simple “aesthetic” drama, Hierarchy knows exactly where it’s going. It doesn’t seek consensus perfection — it seeks resonance. And it succeeds, because every episode is rich and layered, every emotion measured, every transformation believable. Even Ri An benefits from a complex and realistic character arc. And that’s precisely what makes this work memorable: nothing is black or white, and above all, everything is said.

The settings themselves play an equally interesting role. They depict a school of unreal beauty, which makes the contrast with the darkness of the drama all the more striking. It evokes certain dystopian films: a seemingly perfect world where the worst seeps into every crack. This visual dissonance is no accident — it reinforces the drama’s atmosphere and underlines its tensions. And clearly, I’ve rarely seen such beautiful color grading.

It's easy to criticize the drama for a lack of originality, but that's a misreading. Hierarchy doesn’t overplay elitism or corruption — it deconstructs them with finesse. And above all, it highlights a powerful message: the importance of change, awareness, and education — even in the most closed environments.

All in all, Hierarchy is a short but impactful drama. Not because of its spectacular aspect, but because of its sensitivity, accuracy, and its ability to evoke emotion without relying on gimmicks. The drama doesn't aim to shock — it aims to heal, to bring growth, and it does it well.

The post-credits is a symbolic scene of Kang Ha and the school hinting at a Season 2. Either way, Lee Chae Min, Roh Jeong Eui and Kim Min Chul got reunited in Crushology 101, which I absolutely loved.

I laughed until I cried…twice.

So, this is a pretty unconventional film for a few reasons:

1. It is a dual feature with a scripted comedy opening involving some of overlap casting wise set in France.
2. It has four main scenes, for which the casting is determined solely by the comedians’ abilities to ad-lib their way through a vague scenario.
3. You get to watch the ad-lib casting process, which is at times diabolically funny.

Now that you know all this, this is NOT a serious film. This is also NOT a conventional comedy film actors would make. It is a very unserious film made by comedians, many of whom cannot act in any kind of meaningful way beyond being funny. The highlights of the film are, for the most part NOT the final movie, but the in-betweens of watching each scene get casted, and some of the diabolical outcomes of ad-libbing.

Other entertaining factors include the obvious unseriousness and hence lack of budget - if you’re expecting the hairstyles to look at all real, I regret to inform you this is a series of wigs, varying from questionable to horrendous to *is this even period-accurate*?

I’d argue this is a must-watch for people who enjoy comedy improv, or people who are fans of the cast. Beyond that, not sure this one is for you, but it is an entertaining and different take on film making as a concept.

The music was unexpectedly brilliant which I will say caught me off-guard.

Not your common romance

Watch with warning, this is not a sweet love drama; choking, drug, family violence, very mild SM.
I kinda like this combo, ma shuoqi and shitong.
This drama also make me wish to have more drama with them two. it's cute! Made for each other <3
Not your average boy chase girl drama- its all about mind games. & taming your pet-partner.
2 red flags = perfect partners
Both were treated badly by their own dads, both have trauma that make them into the person they are.
I like sweet drama, but i also like this kind of drama too, not the average leads kind, the baddies falling in love. But i can't say they are the REAL baddies, if watched thoroughly, mostly is for self-protection.
They were both unloved and in the end find comfort with each other gradually.

spoiler alert:
I like:
- Need to say again: both leads !! Shitong & Ma Shuoqi~ (prays they have more works in future plz)
- Not the normal-lame kind of leads that be like, aww kindness will solve everything, vengeance is made for vengeance. =)
- wow the dad was nice to cancel the engagement when the fiance got into the news with someone. most drama for the power they will continue with it, political marriage. ya know.
- How the guy asks for reward from fl when he did was up to her satisfaction. (aw cute)
- how the ML act pitiful and taunted the antagonist (his bro) at the Art/painting class. The fl then proceeds to throwing a glass bottle, that was a handsome move wooo FL!
- The part where ml rebelled and goes against the fl's will for him to stay put, it was a good turn point to see the craziness then how he got tamed back when the FL reveals she was gonna make him vanish herself, and even threw ML a thrashed cake.
I like this part cause it made me feel the drama-flow was natural. (things dont always goes as planned)
- && the cutest! he tried to grab his dog-choker-necklace back and was scolded for it xD he still pockets them tho is so cute!
- Their ending of being engaged ~ me loves happy ending ;D

what i disliked:
- the ending struggle: they didn't explain how he injected himself with the new drug and was able to overcome with it... are we all suppose to just presume-pretend its 'love'? cause they didn't explain? NO !! =3= I WANT ANSWERS like took a prevention med of whatever. or his drug immunity built up from all the old stuff??
- altho the system did well in showing and guiding the FL about the ML real side/feelings, felt like the show can live without the system too. but oh well, its barely there anyway..
- The drama was kinda short, wish they show more of the background support character's action, like example how the bribed female classmate managed to trick ML's brother out to get in bed with her, Or more of the brainy games they played with each other (the leads) it was real short. i wanted more scenes!

Too convoluted

I liked the plot, and it had a lot of potential. I am always a fan of Ji Chang-wook's work, so I was looking forward to this film based on the early reviews. It started strong, but (without giving away spoilers) it took a bizarre turn in the middle that distracted from the central plot. Eventually, it largely abandoned this new storyline to return to the original one. During the action sequences, they included unnecessary elements, such as unresolved character grievances and unrealistic twists. Also, how did Chang-wook's character go from being a friendly florist to a super fighter? I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough for this drama.

Grandmeow, Churros, and Zombies

This is honestly the best zombie movie I’ve ever watched. To be fair, I’m not really into survival games or shows like Squid Game or All of Us Are Dead. But when I came across a few clips from this movie on reels, it genuinely caught my attention.

Jung-suk has always been one of my favorite actors—especially in comedy. He’s truly an ace. This film, however, surprised me with how touching, heartfelt, and sincere it turned out to be. It dives straight into the simplest yet most unsettling questions that anyone who watches zombie movies has probably thought about at least once: how can people abandon their loved ones so easily? How can they kill them without even trying to save them?

The father’s dilemma is the emotional core of the film. Watching him struggle, hesitate, and fight his inner battle is heartbreaking. His journey makes the entire movie deeply moving and engaging. His backstory is also thought cliche and predictable, moving us to tears.

The grandmother was a total crack hahhaa
And Grandmeow hahahahahah she was the show stellar. Thank god i have a cat or i would be too jealous.

When Yeon-hwa showed up with her irritating urge to keep reporting zombies, I was honestly so annoyed—uff. I guess I really bonded with Soo-ah in the process.
I cried a lot towards the end!!
Overall, this is a genuinely funny, cute, lovely, and emotionally powerful watch.

I didn’t fully enjoy the ending.

I didn’t completely love the ending, as I felt it lacked showing a bit more of how the main couple ends up after everything they went through. Their chemistry was so strong and natural that it would have been very interesting to see how that connection evolves once they return to their reality and face new stages together. It also would have been nice to see the secondary couple again and learn a little more about their outcome.

Beyond Evil, the greatest detective thriller EVER.

Looking to watch a detective thriller drama? Beyond Evil is a MUST watch. There's just something about this drama that I find incredibly amazing, the cast, the acting is chef's kiss and I am still looking for another drama that captivates me as much as Beyond Evil when I first started watching it.

I don't know where to begin, this series is the type of drama where there's just so much to comment and glaze about it's physically impossible. Beyond Evil had me on a CHOKEHOLD on every single episode. Each Han Ju-Won and Lee Dong-Sik interaction had me jumping and screaming because their relationship is just so unique and beautiful. The storyline? Absolutely perfect, I wouldn't change nothing about this series.

I cried, I laughed, I screamed, I panicked, this series made me feel every single emotion raw and I couldn't stop watching, my eyes were fixed on the screen.

I still need to find something like Beyond Evil, when I say this changed my life perspective it's because it indeed did.

VIRTUAL REALITY ESCAPIST FANTASY GAME HELPS ROMANCE & CHARACTER GROWTH, DOES NOT OVERTAKE REAL LIFE

One of the most handsome, good looking, and masculine-looking pretty boys working in Chinese drama industry right now is paired with Lu Yu Xiao in Love Between Lines, the 28 episode adaptation of web novel (Ya Xi) “Ga Xi" (轧戏) written by Zhang Zu Le (张祖乐). I did not like the novel that the series is based on. The novel’s 92 chapters are available in English language on 2 separate sites. The story in the webnovel is completely around and in the immersive virtual reality game and its players. The day jobs are standard fare fillers. This is the world of Live Action Role Playing Game. The male lead is a top-ranked NPC i.e. non-playable character not controlled by any one else, whereas the female lead buys a ticket to get a spot on the game to get closer to him. I did not like either of them in the novel, Hu Xiu is looking for a job as an interpreter (translating Chinese to English) and she lands in a hospital working under surgeons. She has a fiance’ who dumps her and her parents are getting divorced. Her father works as a music teacher who calls her mother a ‘morally bankrupt whore’ (Chapter 10).

The 2 things that the drama took from this webnovel is a) the virtual reality or live action murder mystery set up (it was never clear to me whether they were in an actual game or just role playing on a large real set because they suggested use of VR in one episode and a few episodes later, it was live action role play.) The other thing the drama gets right is how the male lead is described in the webnovel.

In chapter 10, Hu Xiu describes the love interest - Qin Xiaoyi aka Xiao Zhi Yu as “Qin Xiaoyi’s face was firmly etched in her memory—a different Qin Xiaoyi from the one in a suit. Sharp brow bones and deep-set eyes, thin eyelids and tapered corners shaping a bewitching gaze; large, dark pupils flickering like a fawn’s; slightly protruding yet perfectly shaped lips that appeared haughty when pressed together—not conforming to a ruler’s standard, yet intensely distinctive. His jet-black short hair and sharp angles heightened the contrast of his face. Under light and shadow, his features were cleanly defined, veiling curiosity about the world with aloofness, gentleness, and kindness. In the game, he was dazzling; outside it, he left only silence for others. He truly didn’t seem like a boy who belonged in this ordinary urban life. Hu Xiu felt his romantic life must be far more extravagant than imagined. This was a face torn straight from a comic book—one that could easily attract admiring glances with the slightest indulgence, experience a thrilling, roller-coaster romance. A gentleman like him would never leave things unfinished—ah, it wouldn’t even matter if it ended heartbreakingly—After burying his heartaches to cultivate a more storied face, he still had youth to spare.” In Chapter 20, she thinks of him as “The Qin Xiaoyi she saw up close had fair skin and delicate features, sharp cheekbones and translucent eyes—yet his qualities felt distinctly different.” In chapter 40, his height is measured: “He stood proudly in front of the 184 cm mark (that’s 6 feet), his smirk in the photo both roguish and mischievous.” She is identified as being 165 cm tall (5 foot 4). In chapter 88, she describes him as “this large camel, astonishing in looks and extraordinary in build.”

The drama has nothing else in common with the webnovel and to call it an adaptation of the written word is wrong.
The drama can be split into the real world work environment and challenges the leads face as co-workers in the field of architecture, designing housing projects, sky scrapers, shops and parks and their interactions in the world of virtual reality games or live action role playing in which you are transported into a fantasy where you get to experience adventure quest in a different time period and get to be someone else for a few hours.

Love Between Lines combines a trending consumer-driven virtual extended reality dimension of Shanghai and China, the location-based entertainment virtual reality, or LBE VR. Plus, the male lead is an architect who designs the game’s structure matrix and his work enhances the VR experience for not just the players but for us, the viewers as well. All of this is weaved it into the drama as a prop, and I liked it.

The drama is shot beautifully (and it reminded me of those cozy South Korean romances with great BGMs and OSTs that have disappeared from that country in recent years.) Love between lines has very good songs: My favorites are ‘Start Over’ sung by Jin Wenqi, Closer sung by Baby J, Special Night sung by Wei Li’an and an Expectation named you sung by Yan Renzhong, At Dusk sung by Fangdong Demao.

I think Lu Yu Xiao is a brilliant actress with long term potential. She looks a bit like South Korean actress Kim Tae-ri. I first saw her in the 2023 drama ‘My Journey to You’ where she was paired with and in the tub with Ryan Cheng and had a side role. She was excellent in 2024’s ‘Blossoms in Adversity,’ another side character. Here she’s the female lead and very good as the female lead. She looks gorgeous, vulnerable, feisty, smart and emotes like a real person. This Hu Xiu had to give up her dream of studying architecture at university level because her father was ill and money was needed for his recovery. So she got a job as an administrative assistant in an architecture firm. But she continues to study privately and doesn’t let go of her passion and dreams. I did not like her parents. There’s a fine line between being overprotective and being overbearing and unfortunately you’ll see such parents in real life more often than not who put their own kids down for selfish reasons or because they don’t believe in their kids. Her parents used her all her life and were always meddling in her life. When she takes a risk and wants to try for an entry level job working as a graphic designer for architectural firm, her parents discourage her on the pretext that she had a safe future as a secretary or manager. Even at the end when she wants to be with the male lead, her parents, especially her father, wants her to break up with him because of their family’s past history with the male lead’s father. I mean, this South Korean makjang, Chinese and Japanese over the top noble idiocy expectation from children is a headache to watch. Also, it's refreshing to see the young woman as having a fiancé before she meets the male lead, instead of the puritanical tropes usually used in Chinese and South Korean romance dramas, where no one has dated anyone ever, certainly not the girl. Of course, the fiancé quickly turns to ex-fiancé because he dumps her right before the wedding to snag an heiress.

This journey is more about the female lead than the male lead in my opinion though there are some interesting elements given to the male lead’s character arc as well. His mother remarried after his father’s death - there’s a whole lot of Hamlet happening in his story line, but the unique thing was that he was disconnected from his own mother and vice versa. The mother’s husband’s son - the male lead’s love and work rival - is closer to her than her own son, he knows what she likes in food and gifts than the male lead. So that was a nice touch to show a blended broken family with secrets and resentments bubbling beneath the surface, in-spite of all the wealth, health and privilege. The other thing was the fact that male lead’s father had been an engineer who got blamed for the collapse of a stadium, and so, since the son chose a similar profession, building stuff, he used a fake name - to not get marginalized or blacklisted because of his father’s reputation. In a respect he could only live out his real name in the virtual reality location based entertainment setting. And I think that was a nice touch too because it added layers to his arc that his expressions didn’t.

The drama is nothing new minus the VR LBE and nice production frames and shots and great music. All of the generic tropes and eye candy moments we are used to seeing in Asian dramas are still there, it’s nothing new, but it’s well done, and that has made all the difference.

You can watch the rest of the review on my youtube channel @beginnings1 . In it, more drama-related info as well as a comparison of virtual reality entertainment field as well as dangers for kids and how social media and VR companies are being sued.

Pegasus Market is a heartwarming comedy you can't miss.

When I first started watching Pegasus Market I wasn't expecting a lot, just a simple comedy drama that centered around a supermarket. I was incredibly WRONG and here's why and why YOU should watch it!

I found this series because I absolutely love Kim Byung-Chul which is the actor that plays Jung Bok-Dong. Since I loved his acting in countless series and films, I decided to give this series a try.

When I tell you the first episode had me absolutely mesmerized...

I realized this series was becoming such an important series to me and soon it was over! Time passed incredibly rapidly when watching this and when I finished it I just couldn't help but rewatch it again.

The pacing is amazing, the dynamic between the main characters Jung Bok-Dong and Moon Seok-Goo is incredibly heartwarming, the comedic scenes are so funny and a lot of the times they had me rolling on the floor. There's also this part from this series that I find underrated which is how amazing and well written each character's backstory is written.

Overall I loved this series, each episode felt like a rollercoaster in the best way possible, it doesn't get overwhelming nor repetitive as somehow this series manages to have equality between it's storyline. The cast and acting is also incredibly on point. I can't believe why more people hasn't watched this yet. This series is just amazing and it couldn't be more perfect.

Post data: If you do watch the series I also recommend watching side-to-side the special post-series episodes that belong to Pegasus Market: Vroom Vroom. (The episodes are available on YouTube on the official channel of TvN Studios) and the off-camera recording of the series and making-off is also really funny!

This is the true language of love, I absolutely love this couple.

A fun and charming story

My Page in the 90’s is a drama that beautifully blends nostalgia, romance, and personal growth into a story that is both moving and entertaining. Set in the 1990s, it sensitively portrays the dreams, struggles, and transformations of a generation shaping its identity amid social change. The narrative not only touches the heart but also keeps viewers engaged through the various situations where the protagonists interact—many of them filled with humor, warmth, and charming moments that perfectly balance the emotional depth of the story.

Chen Xingxu’s performance is one of the drama’s strongest pillars. His portrayal is layered, natural, and emotionally sincere, allowing him to convey every nuance of his character with authenticity. Moreover, the chemistry between the leads is truly incredible; their on-screen connection feels genuine and magnetic, making every shared scene compelling and memorable. Overall, the drama stands out for its warmth, thoughtful setting, and a story that lingers long after it ends.

How To Stay Undead?

I'll make this short. It was very entertaining from beginning to end. Though I've seen many ghost/ ritual stories, this was a cut above the rest in the same vein. Specifically the occult without reincarnations. The actors delivered for the most part. Pavel was good in his role. Graphics, make up and special effects set the scenes which made it credible. This is the best I've seen of Michael and TopTen as a cp. Finally in sync and comfortable interacting with each other.

My criticisms lie in the structure of the story itself. Thup moving from victim to resident spiritual advisor to boyfriend to procedural advisor. How many hats? His methodical way of thinking seemed to outshine those who have been officers for years. Singha's questionable protection practices. Singha losing it at the end and going all crazy instead of trying to free them. While it is said mentally ill people do possess superior strength when in psychosis, but like he outsmarted and overpowered every one until the end. Victor / Bom did a spectacular job.

I'm not a fan of Pooh and his acting abilities. It's on the short end but here it was passible. His nasal monotone does not help. The script was well chosen to suit Pavel's. I will also suggest that Pavel next to Otto gives a more believable dynamic that Pavel with Pooh. It's underwhelming, with Pavel carrying the weight.

Overall, very intriguing and entertaining.

A Disaster Film With a Sci-Fi Twist

I love disaster movies, so this one immediately caught my attention. The beginning was really strong — a single mother, An Na, and her son Jae Hee (an AI child) trapped in their apartment as the flood rises. It was intense and had me excited to see how they were going to escape.

But as the story went on, it started to feel a bit messy. Suddenly it shifts into this AI and time loop concept where they’re not even real people but test subjects meant to save humanity. It’s a unique idea, and I do appreciate how it leaves you guessing with all the clues, but honestly it didn’t quite fit the disaster movie vibe I was expecting.

That said, the actors did a great job, and the flood and outer space effects looked really good. It just ended up being very different from what I thought it would be.
