When simplicity pays off

This is the most engaging and romantic drama I have seen in a while. The confession in ep. 7 will live rent free in my head together with the song for a long long time.
The strongest point is the simplicity of the plot and how it develops in a natural way. No unecessary characters and side stories, no useless scenes or dialogues, no gratuitous violence or inexplicable dramas. You see how it starts, you understand why it develops the way it does and you love how it ends.
I already miss these two, I think I will soon start watching it all over again.

Comedy, Romance and a Social Commentary. Just perfect.

Things I adored

1 The ML. I have no idea why anyone would thing he can't act. Same as with the FL, I can't imagine anyone play the role as well. I felt everything he felt so he must have done a good job. I never doubted his feelings for the FL and his character was a green flag from start to finish. He's handsome, sure, one of the most attractive people in the world if you ask me. That wasn't the reason I loved him. It was because he made the character alive and he loved the FL. He was always on the right side and did everything he could to protect her without hurting her. The break up was stupid, I'll give you that, but it was also logical. As the FL said, he was more miserable being alone spending his says in a foreign country at a hospital. I can't find any faults to the actor and the character. I wish I could rewatch the drama from the start and feel again everything. I will one day for sure, and I will look for other dramas with the ML.

2 The FL. She was perfection. I can't imagine anyone play the part that well, whether it was as a beautiful girl or as a less beautiful. To me she was beautiful anyway. She is a good actress. I didn't like her other dramas, not her specifically. She did a good job anyway. it's just that in this one she make me laugh and cry and care. I wanted her to be happy, I wanted her to be successful, I wanted her to have friends and be free from her burdens. I was with her from the first minute to the last. I was irritated by some romantic scenes that didn't go as far as I was expecting and wanting, but all in all she nailed every aspect of her role.
The role itself is one to stay with you. Who didn't experience some kind of bullying in their life? I consider bullying the unkind words, the snide comments, even her mother's behavior. So every time she suffered I wanted her to rebel and hit back. In some way she did and that is what I loved in her character. She was strong, she suffered, but didn't let them win. She did a great job when she cried, when she played cute, when she played innocence... I have nothing negative to say about the actress or the role. Great job and I wish she find such a good role again.

3 The relationship between the ML and the 2ML. This is how you give viewers something to love. You start at point 1 and naturally get to 10 without it feeling forced just to advance the story. I hated the 2ML at first and eagerly waited for the day the ML would fight back so I could see his fall. Then I started seeing who they really were, glimpsing their past and friendship, and my heart began to mellow.
Both boys were victims of fate, stupid decisions they had nothing to do with, and life. Still, I never expected to love their bromance so much. I was just as happy for their relationship as I was for the romance. I truly wish there had been a follow-up. Their relationship was so well done that you couldn't help wanting them to be friends again. Seeing them slowly start to trust each other again was incredibly heartwarming, not to mention all their funny moments.
The actors did a fantastic job, probably the best I've seen in a series with this kind of relationship. I have to praise the screenwriter and director again for their attention to detail and the way they conveyed all those feelings. This was one of my favorite parts of the series, along with the main couple's romance.

4 The 2ML. Where do I start? I don't have 2ML syndrome. Never. I can't remember a 2ML ever being my favorite; I'm always with the ML. Same here, I never wavered. That said, he's my favorite 2ML ever—not because of the FL alone, but because of his character and evolution.
I understood everything he went through: the dark phase with the suicide and blaming the ML, his feelings for the FL and realizing he'd never be the one, then struggling to move on and find another way to be happy. I fell for him every step of the way. Among the hundreds of characters I've watched, he's the one I'd most want to see happy.
At first, I wanted to smack him because I knew he was unfair to the ML, but little by little he became that perfect friend you just want to hug and make the pain go away. He cared for and protected the FL, stayed with her when she needed him, and pushed her toward her happiness. The staircase scene broke my heart. When he told her to run if she wanted to catch the ML before he left, my heart bled for him. Even his memories of the FL hurt. He was caring, honest, smart, and funny. He would be the perfect ML—just not here.
I loved how he stood up to the bullies and the "friend," even when the FL knew nothing about it. He handled the confession perfectly too. If the writer ever gives him a story where he finds love, I'll be the happiest. The actor did a fantastic job and deserves praise for making me fall in love with a character I hated at first.

5 The main couple. I know I've already talked about them, but after watching hundreds of dramas, I have to give their relationship a separate entry because I rank them in my top 3 without a doubt. They were perfect for each other. Even when they were at odds in the first episodes, watching them interact was a delight.
I'll be honest: the kisses didn't mesmerize me. I expected better. They weren't terrible, but they weren't up to the quality of the drama. That's my only complaint. Everything else was perfect—the little details, the way they looked at each other, smiled, held hands, got jealous, teased each other. Their chemistry was unparalleled.
I wish they'd do another drama together. My heart fluttered the most because they were the same age, so everything felt natural and rewarding. The fact that he knew about her made me feel she finally had someone in her corner. When he protected her at school, my heart exploded. This is how you create swoon-worthy moments that stay with you.
They're one of my favorite couples, along with You're My Lover Friend, The Love You Give Me, and Love Is Sweet. I loved the couple in Hidden Love, but the age issue always made it feel less perfect. Here, it was perfect from start to finish. Definitely one of my favorites.

6 The relationships. I loved each relationship in this drama. I mentioned most of them in other entries, but there are still some I need to highlight. The relationship between the three friends, the ML, the 2ML and their friend who died. It was so heartwarming to see, I loved every scene they were together. The relationship between the main couple of course, between the sisters, between the two ML, between the the 2ML and hi sister, and here I want to mention his mom as well. She was there for a few scenes but they were so well done and so real. The friendships at school and the relationship of he parents of the FL with the Ml and the teacher. The relationship between the owner of the comic book store and the FL and the ML. As I said all were done in such a good way I couldn't help loving them. Even the less prominent characters had their shining moments.

7 The humor. I didn't expect to laugh so much, but although there was a heavy topic touched the interactions between the characters were so funny sometimes that it lightened the whole heavy feeling that weighed on you seeing what was happening. There were so many moments, but randomly: the wedding, the dumplings preparation from the two ML, the friends of the ML and the 2Ml teasing them, the teacher and his difficulty to deal with his fierce girlfriend. They even managed to make cute and funny the drunk scene with the ML. I hate drinking and the culture of it, but he was so cute and the dialogue so funny.
But the humor was also in the exaggeration like when the 2Ml talked about himself, or the scene the father saw them kissing at the ML?s house, or the hospital scenes between the ML and the 2ML. Another one with the ghost story as well as the hiding of the FL at the hospital. I'm sure I forget a lot, but all on all it was a fun drama and as I said I didn't expect that.

8 The details. What made me adore this drama are the details. The screenwriter and the director don't leave anything that they don't put care in. from their past to the connection to the future, the first snow story, the scenes they chose to show how their love for the FL grew or how the FL felt, everything is quasi perfect. My heart felt everything every time. The way they ended together in bed, the way every episode ends, the way the relationships are repaired or break. Everything is meticulously done. I loved that they didn't kiss while he was drunk and they made love after a few hours had gone by.

9 The ending. I think I read that some found the ending rushed or didn't like it. I thought it was perfect. We had time to tie all loose ends and we had enough time with the main couple to be happy for them and with them. The wedding, the friendships all was there. Most of all we had the chance to see the 2MLwith the FL and with the ML and feel that everything will go well. Was it also heartbreaking for the 2ML? Of course, but it couldn't finish any other way. I loved the comic book store scenes, it was the perfect way to end it for the main couple. I also loved that we saw them, well, saw is a big word, but we imagined them making love. To me it would be unfinished if they wouldn't act this way after so many years in love. So to me it was the perfect ending. I would rank it on the top 3 of all the endings I've watched and I watched a lot.

Things I loved

1 The premise. I thought it'd be difficult to make it work, but I was so wrong. They did a fabulous job. Everyone played so well their part that it was believable and got me laugh, cry, yell. I felt everything they wanted to convey in each and every scene and to be honest I don't remember any other series that made me feel so different emotions and so deep. Kudos to the writer, the screenwriter, the director and the cast. I wish I could start over.

2 The sister. At first, she got on my nerves but little by little I loved her. The actress is beautiful and she truly embodied the character. I won't deny that some scenes irritated me, especially those that had to do with drinking, but at the end of the day, she was a good person. A good sister, a smart and dynamic career woman and she had principles. There's nothing really that could make me dislike her. I loved that she was different from all Kheroines, but also different from her sister. It was interesting to see the dynamic.

3 The brother. Another character who irritated me at first and whom I loved in the end. That's something the screenwriter needs to be praised. That all the characters show growth. He was funny and touching and it was sweet to watch him interact with the 2ML's sister. I also loved his relationship with the FL. He got me in tears a few times when she was suffering and he was there for her any way he could.

4 The school days. It was interesting and well done. From bromances to female friendships and from teacher student relationships to romantic relationships, every bit helped paint a canvas that was interesting and vibrant. I loved every interaction happening at school even when it was heartbreaking because that's what gave the series its value.

5 The sister of the 2ML. Although she didn't have many scenes, she was great in these. I loved how naturally she came to interact with the FL and of course her relationship with her brother. I also loved how she was with the FL's brother and how they left things, it was cute and logical at the same time and I loved that they didn't force any romance. We can leave it to our imagination.

6 The wedding of the sister of the FL. Oh, my god, it was over the top but so funny. I can't believe the things that happened. So ridiculous and at the same time so well done and fitted to the tone of the series and the character of the bride. The bride was also very beautiful and the kiss scene the cherry on the top.

7 That they didn't follow the novel to the letter. I never read the novel but it seems that the FL dates the 2ML when the ML is abroad. Thank goodness they didn't go there. I would have hated that. They gave us enough interactions to make us feel for the 2ML without crossing a line. I know in real life things could go otherwise, but I'm not watching dramas with romance to experience real life. Give me realistic scenes for everything except romance. I want the romance to be ideal and make my heart flutter. That's all. I loved the 2ML but if they had kissed or dated I'd be devastated, so thank you to those who decided against it.

Things I liked

1 The mother of the FL. I won't lie, for at least half the episodes I wanted to smack her. I understood her problems with her husband, but what did that have to do with the children, especially the FL? I felt so sorry for her having such an abrasive mother. But they did a great job redeeming her. She also had some funny scenes. That said, she irritated me so many times that I can't say I loved her. I liked her, though.

2 The father of the FL. Honestly, he must be one of the characters I don't know how to rate. He loved his children and was a decent person. Then again, he caused so many issues for his family, it's a miracle he could stay. I loved his interactions with the FL and his other children, and the funny moments with the ML when he stayed at his house. He was a decent person, and that counts. I wish we could have seen some success for him, but well, this stayed realistic.

3 The relationship of the sister of the FL and the teacher. It wasn't perfect, but it had its moments, and it was sweet how lost he was when he met her. I loved that he accepted her and didn't try to change her. I loved that both were ready to work on their differences, and there were many instances when this happened. Some were touching, some funny, but so good to see.

4 The friendship between the FL and Su Jin. That's a tough one because there were things I loved and things I hated, so I'll go with the middle. I wasn't happy with how their relationship evolved. I was fuming and wanted the FL to never speak to that "friend" again. But it wasn't in the FL's character to hold a grudge forever, so staying true to who she was, she had to forgive her. I wouldn't. I can't forget the pain the FL went through because of her jealousy, and even her abusive father doesn't make me forget or forgive.
That said, I was happy to see her apologize and turn a new leaf. Seeing the three friends reunite was touching, but I couldn't help thinking I'd do exactly what the FL did, and that leaves me with a bitter taste. You can't break someone's heart and expect everything to remain intact.

Things I disliked

1 The father of the ML. I was happy for him to get closer to his father, but to be honest to me it felt more like the character of the father was there to serve for the breakup and the suicide story. Did I mind? No, not really. It was well done and not so on the nose so it was good. It just wasn't rewarding that in the end he paid, but the ML also paid. Why would he have to upend his life for a father who was never the father he deserved?

Things I hated

1 The bullying. That was hard. It's such a hard topic for me I had trouble watching some scenes. But it was also good to remember what students all over the world go though. I wish the teachers had more to say about it and I wish the stupid students who perpetrated that paid one way or another. They got off unscathed other than the scolding and threatening from the 2ML. He was great, but it wasn't enough for me. These girls never learned a lesson and seeing they continued to harass the transferring student even later in the drama was frustrating to say the least. I wanted to kick their behind so badly. So sensitive topic, dealt quite well, but not deep enough.

Stressful but entertaining!

The drama, specifically in one particular love triangle, was really frustrating, but it got me very invested and I think the point of reality TV is to have those situations anyways. More than the romance, I really appreciated the friendships between the cast, and I feel like that was the true value of the experience for them, especially for those who didn’t find partners. Unfortunately, although this was a bisexual dating show with all bisexual contestants, there wasn’t much talk about the contestants’ experiences with their sexuality as I believe there had been on other queer dating shows. It would have been really cool to see the group talk about that, but I still really enjoyed the show for what it was. I wouldn’t recommend watching if you are only interested in one storyline, but since I liked most of the relationships, I felt like it was worth my time, and it was definitely a lot of fun!

Did you cry at all?

Hello, hello, hello, how are we doing today? I know I am doing well, trying to write reviews for shows instead of waiting till December and writing all of them, so let's go. I would give this show an 8.5 (8.6) out of 10, and I have a lot of feelings about it, with most of them being negative, so get ready. I am going to say what I liked, what I didn't like, do an episode review, and then put this bitch in the dirt.

Okay, I do go on to dog on the plot later, but the idea was lowkey fire. His mom and brother get dropped within a couple of months of each other, and it's lowkey his ex's fault, and he only finds that out years later. Like I love that. Personally, I would have skinned this bitch alive and set him on fire and then thrown him in the river next to the Platinum Mall and then brought him back up and shat on him, but you know, like becoming an actor to get revenge on him works too. Love that, great setup, I just wish the execution was a little bit better (a lot bit better, but I will talk about that later). ALSO SUNNY STEALING HIS WHOLE BRAND WAS FIREEEEEEEE.

Another thing I liked, and I am going to put these in the same category, was acting and chemistry. Just a fantastic job from Min and Toptap (insert that Brazilian dance here, because they got me doing it now), and our great acting and chemistry actually brought this show to life really well, so good for them. I am going to address the elephant in the room that is their porno sex scene, even though it did need better buildup in terms of their relationship; IT WAS FUCKING GREAT JOB GUYS. MAYBE TOO GREAT OF A JOB BECAUSE MY FRIEND AND I WERE ACTUALLY GAGGED. NO, but I am truly impressed with them for that; that was really well done, and their good acting really shined through for that, so yeah. I really hope to see them together in one more project or at least separate things, because they did phenomenally in this.

I am going to write the things that I disliked first (even though it shows up second, just know I wrote it first lmao). Starting off STRONG, the romance building and plot of this show. I feel like these can be two separate categories, but I am going to smack them under one. I feel like I put this in every single one of my reviews with shows like these: oh, if they have a good plot, then their romance building is terrible, and vice versa. Well, bad news: both of them suck in this. Okay, so the plot of the show is very to the point and really simple, which I liked. I will give them that, THEN TELL ME WHY WE STARTED TO DRAG PLOT THIS SHIT BY THE SECOND EPISODE? I don't understand. Like, we were doing run-arounds, and it became irritating already. Like I understand, you are here for revenge; why did it take us so long to do that, and even then, like we realized we are better than that-like what? We were dragging our feet the entire show and nuked the fucking ending because of it; like, I'm sorry that was crappy plot writing. And maybe it's because this was a manhwa or whatever, and those are hard to make it to shows, but I feel like we could have filled our episode more with relevant stuff instead of DRAG PLOTTING THIS SHIT, LIKE I'M DONE. Words can actually not describe how bad this plot execution was, and I'm sorry (it had nothing to do with the actors they ate; it had to do with idk more of the directing or screenwriting I don't know).

Okay, next thing in this category was romance building. My friend and I watched this together, and we knew from the very start it was going to be bad, because of the plot at the start, but we still gave it a chance. Did it live up to the expectations? You know the answer to that: NO. Like, why can't we just have dates, have romance, and not just jump the gun? I'm like, what? SUN HATED ARTHUR UP UNTIL THEY HAD SEX, I'M like, can we break down the walls a little, maybe have more than ONE CUTE MOMENT, something, anything. I need substance to actually care about a show, not JUST fucking bullshit. No, but all I was given was bullshit. Because even their sex scene felt kind of random. Well, it did, and it didn't, because I understand what they were getting at and it was really well done, but dude, that's so irritating. I'm sorry, it just felt very random because we were too worried about our plot building that was ass. Like, I'm so done with y'all. (OH AND THEN THE RANDOM PUNCHING AT THE START, SO NOT ONLY CAN WE NOT WRITE ROMANCE BUT HE'S ALSO A BEATER? EXCUSE PICK A STRUGGLE). I said this in episode 4, and I think it sums up our main couple in this show: "I feel the scenes with our couple kind of feel forced into the plot in a way, so I think they need to write those in a little bit better or just tone down all the other shit, because why is everyone and their momma his enemy? That is lowkey so hard to keep track of, but it's whatever."

Okay, I understand we wanted lore-accurate entertainment companies and what people will do for fame, but the fucking killing shit, the rape scene, forced blowjobs, those were actually overkill. Like I know what they were getting at, but after the 18th damn scene, I was just uncomfortable as fuck and it just kind of felt like a lost in the sauce love of the game kind of thing, instead of trying to add to the plot, so I'm like okay, let's actually wrap this shit up, we did not need all of that because it was going into fetish territory I can't lie, like with how much they were repeating those scenes of it, BECAUSE WHY DID WE GO BACK TO THAT CLUB EVERY EPISODE (like besides our main couple)? I DON'T KNOW, BUT IT FELT IRRELEVANT AFTER A WHILE.

Okay, last up with things I didn't like was the ending. COME ON WE SPENT 10 WEEKS BUILDING TOWARDS THE SHIT, I WAS SO READY, AND WE NUKED THAT SHIT. They didn't even give us like a rushed or cute sex scene at the end; all we got was boonfery and I'm irritated as fuck, like actually. I am getting mad just thinking about it. Oh my god. Okay, so things were looking up for the ending, and then we literally kill everyone off. Arthur gets promoted, Sunny gets fired, Sky gets the new job, Sun is still unemployed, and Arthur and Sun have a crappy ending. If you are like, Hey, that's a lot of shit for an episode, IT'S BECAUSE IT IS. ALL OF OUR VILLIANS GET KILLED RANDOMLY BY THE COPS, AND SOME RANDOM GUY, AND THAT'S JUST IT? LIKE I WANTED THEM TO DIE, BUT THAT WAS SO ONE OFF AND DIDN'T REALLY AVENGE ANYONE, JUST IRRITATING AS FUCK. (And if it was that easy, why didn't we do that at the start?) I am so mad at that, because I really wanted it to be good; I did, but it just wasn't, and I'm so sad. My main thing about why the ending was bad is that we spent too long dragging our feet with a plot, and we actually lost the plot too, and then we had to rush everything and get like a mega happy ending for everyone, but our couple. Okay, I am done now, but please understand there are a lot of angry words unsaid lmao.

Okay, episode overreview time! Episode 1: "God, if I were in this goofy, ugly wig-wearing motherfucker’s shoes, that ex would never find peace. As I stated earlier, I am not even violent like that, but I would low-key skin this motherfucker alive. I cannot lie. What the fuck?" Episode 2: "The guy who plays Sunny slash Bank, he low-key looks very hot. Just with the red slash orange hair, it looks like he has a big fat fucking head, and he does not look good with the orange hair. Loki, dye that shit back immediately because there is no fucking way. You're sexy as hell; you're nerfing yourself with this ugly-ass hair. I know he wanted to play that villain. He walked in, and he is like, I need to play the villain. I am playing no submissive bitch. I am playing the villain. They are like, shit, okay, do your own thing, twin." Episode 4: "I feel the scenes with our couple kind of feel forced into the plot in a way, so I think they need to write those in a little bit better or just tone down all the other shit, because why is everyone and their momma his enemy? That is lowkey so hard to keep track of, but it's whatever." Episode 5: "THAT DEEP ASS VOICE HAS ME DEAD. OLD MEN MEAT RIDDERS, I'M SO IRRATED. WHY ARE WE KISSING? I am so lost. So random. Big ass eyes. The smile. Once a crash out, always a crash out. Lace front glued downnn. NOT THE CAMERA, YALL FUCKED UP. Holy eye contact. IN FRONT OF SUNNY IS CRAZYYYYYYYY. I'M GAGGED. LETS CONNECT SOME DOTS YOU DUMB ASS." Episode 6: "He run the mascot streeeetssss.FNAF 9 ah. This is lowkey scary as shit. Arthur a freakkkk. Y'all have sex once. INSANE. Is Arthur a furry? BOSSS. LOVE TRAP STAMP AH TATTOOS. DEEP VOICEEE. HE WANT YOU BADDDDD. IN THE CEMETERY TOO IS GNARLY. SECURITY BREACH AH CAMERA. HE IS THERE BC OF HIS MOMMMM, FUCKK I FORGOTTTT. I am so sad. Arthur walks like it's heavy; I'm done. 5 years ago is just a bad year for everyone. His mom founded Dream; I'm so sad. Oh shit." Episode 7: "Why haven't we fallen in love yet? We have like 3 episodes left. We are too busy giving lore and not actually giving plot on our main couple." "LOOK AT THOSE EYES, HE WANTS THAT COOKIE BADLY. FUCKKK. She could have just died from cancer, dude; why did she kill herself? Wait, that is actually so fucking sad. Behind those eyes is a lot of bottled-up sadness. I am glad they are making this kind of funny; I like when shows don't take everything so seriously." Episode 8: "Thank god for the BTS, because we gotta take a step back lmao. Oh my god. The dream that she built is very different from the way the dream is now, oh my god. THEY R FREAKED OUTTTT." "I wish our romance building was a bit better. This feels kind of random. Is come tell me the cpatial of lithua code word for lets fuck? 41 MINUTES LEFT WE MUST HAVE LOST OUR MINDS" "WE WOULD SPREAD OUR LEGS FOR A FISH DUDE. HIS HANDS ARE THE SIZE OF MIN'S HEAD. GOD, I KNOW HE'S GOOD WITH HIS FINGERS. Can you make me cry? I'M SICKKKK again. BITCH IS WE FUCKING OR WHATTTTTTTTT?????" Episode 9: "WE HAVE SOAP ON US, GO GET BACK IN THE TUB YALL HAVE ME SO MAD RN." "Uh, yeah, I don't wanna see this. Nah, but anything for fame, right? We just killed somebody, for what? For what, dude? WE'VE LOST THE PLOT. WHERE'S OUR SPINE? Those sinks look so stupid. THIS IS ALL WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS ENTIRE SHOW. PUT THESE NIGGAS IN THE DIRT, SUN. I SWEAR TO GOD, I AM NOT PLAYING RIGHT NOW. COMEDIC AH WRENCH IM DONE. WHY DO WE ALL HAVE BATS AND THAT GUY HAS A WRENCH? THEME SONGG TIMEEE AS WE BLEED OUT OF OUR BRAIN. THIS IS KIND OF META. At least we died sexy. A lot happened but also nothing lmao." Episode 10: "lowkey ass ending We are dragging our feet and now we are to the end and gonna rush our shit, which is quite irritating because this was a pretty good show. Just the romance aspect was god fucking awful, like actually, we just pissed me off. I’m losing the plot rapidly. Like my god. Just killing the villains off so crappily. That sucked; I am lowkey irritated. We did not use our height difference enough. Sunny ending was ass too. Y'all, we are not locked in. HOLY TIME JUMP. DAB UP WAS CLEAN. So that whole episode was ass because we actually spent way too long dragging our feet. That is just so annoying. Whatever."

Okay, I will let you rest now, mama. But yeah, I don't know, I wouldn't recommend it because everything's just like whatever, but I would say watch for our boys because they did a good job; everything else, fuck that. Okay bye!

I go on vibes and this office romance brought them all!

Reading some reviews, I see this show wasn’t to everyone’s tastes.
But for me, this was an office romance that hit just right!

It wasn’t overly dramatic; the pace and flow were done so well. And when conflict between the couple cropped up, it was resolved so soon, most often the very next episode! I can’t express my joy for that, when usually, the writers draw that out so much it becomes an utter drag to watch. So, all my hats are off to them for not relying on needless emotional conflict.

What I also appreciated as a watcher of romances in all genres and tropes, is that they had so much open communication. Another rarity! Feelings were confessed, thoughts, inner fears and insecurities were discussed! I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, as we’re used to – there is always an episode before the end that everything goes to hell and your heart is dragged through the angst.
But it never came!
The finale was so sweet and lovely.
I can understand why this office romance wasn’t for everyone, but this one felt like it was written for me specially, lol.
I adore the MMC and his low lidded dreamy, yearning eyes.
And now I’m a fan of the FMC, too.

A side note to say I loved the supporting cast, especially the work task force. Those twists when we were led to believe two of them were being snakes and then they were not all along – fantastic!
A notable mention for the reverse age gap side story with the second couple. One of my fave tropes, so I enjoyed this immensely.

And because I’ve mentioned things being rare several times, I’ll close my review by mentioning how great it was that his ex-wife was lovely and supportive! Not a lick of drama from her.

An all-around gentle and heartwarming drama I will absolutely watch again.
Low angst, minimal unnecessary drama, and adorable characters.

It had major highlights but I wish they did a little better

I will admit that I got baited by the Shen An and Duan Ru Xing scene from twitter (you know the one). In fact, I was so baited I went and read the original CN novel before watching the series just in case. And because I did that, it made me appreciate this show more; the novel was surprisingly concise, so the show took the source material and extrapolated on the plot in ways I really enjoyed. I liked the little details they added, and it made it more of an experience to watch.

Ironically, one of my qualms about the show is the very reason that got me into watching it: there's too many bed scenes. Now, hear me out. I'm not one of those puritanical people that become uncomfortable at the prospect of two consenting adults on screen getting it on. One thing I really love about Thailand's BL production is how unashamed they are to show these moments. This show had a lot of them! There were so many bed scenes that I absolutely adored and will probably go back to rewatch because they make me so happy. But I also don't think I'm in the wrong when I say that at certain points, it felt too drawn out and fanservice-y to the point of interrupting the flow of the story. This show is not the only one - this has simply been a trend recently. If anything this show does this better than others, but because I liked this story so much I want to demand better. Above all, I want the story I like to flow well.

While I did like that they expanded the plot from the book, some of the interjections into the plot did feel useless and functionally incomprehensible. The mushroom scene? Random backstory of Ob-aun's family asking Shan's for money, serving no purpose other than some minor friction caused by Intouch that also lead nowhere because Ob-aun didn't even really bring it up with Shan... Sin's whole deal that barely got any proper conclusion... Just some random stuff that clearly existed to fluff up the plot but felt too staged and difficult to immerse myself into.

Another issue I had is that considering how high quality the production seemed to be, not all of the actors' performances seemed up to par. I won't name names because it's not just one person and ultimately I also think the director could have spent more effort drawing out those performances from them too, but it especially stood out in scenes where one of the actors is clearly doing their best while their counterpart has an expression so ambiguous I am playing a guessing game at what emotion they're trying to express there.

All in all, it was a really sweet watch that I think could have ended up perfect had they ironed out some details. However, I am looking forward to more from these actors and production in the future because I do see the potential to evolve their future works.

When a miniseries gets it SO right!

I’m going to miss this show and these sweetheart characters.
I think I actually loved this miniseries/special episodes more than Me and Thee!
It was just all around adorable.
And they made the finale the cutest, just what all fans want to see.

All the guest stars were hilarious. Hats off to GMMTV for doing that.

No one could have played Thee better than Pond; he was made for that cheesy, lovable mafia man.

And then, to wrap it up beautifully with a gorgeous bow, our Mok and Rome could finally be together. Now, if the production would like to give them a separate series showing where their lives are now, Rome is the boss. I would be excited to be back in this world again.

It was the easiest viewing experience. Cheesy and silly with giggle-out-loud moments, of course! But it also delivered a lot of deep, heartfelt moments, and they were brought to life by Pond and Phuwin. This is one of those shows that from time to time I will think about these characters and know that their lives will go on somewhere and Thee and Peach will always be crazily in love with each other.

Good - but I would have loved more romance.

I have several thoughts about this show.
I will start by saying that overall, I found it enjoyable.
It was acted so well by all the cast.
Slices of life dramas are on my top watch lists, so this was going to check my boxes. I’ve enjoyed Yang Yang’s shows before, so that’s why I initially tuned in, and I was persuaded with several clips on social media. But I soon found out the FMC was so nice, too. My kind of heroine – calm, non-toxic, and not chaotic at all. She was great! And I’d definitely watch this actress in other things now I’m aware of her talent. She did the chasing and had the yearning eyes, which was a lovely change!

Things that were not to my taste were that the show focused a lot, and I mean a lot, on their jobs. I feel like I came away with skills on how the fire service and medical areas work. Tap me in, boss, I’m ready to hold a fire hose! And while some scenes and plotlines regarding their jobs, for me, went on too long, I enjoyed seeing the lead characters in these roles. I love a take-charge person, and they both fit into those roles perfectly.

The male leads family was so good. Supportive and loving, I enjoyed all their scenes.
The supporting firefighters cast was equally great, love when there is a brotherhood vibe around a show. Those guys loved their captain.

There was so much push and pull when it focused on the romance aspect, and sometimes we had to wait so many episodes to even get a glimpse of the potential for romance. But when the leads were finally on the same page, I was basking in the love they had for each other. Especially MMC. He was all in and so supportive and understanding of the demon family-in-law.
There is a scene where he rescued mom-in-law. Dude is a better person than I am, because I would have left her bossy ass right there LOL.

Now, to what irked me a lot.
The brother with his weird, obsessive attachment to the FMC. Okay, I’ve been on board with step-sibling romances before; it’s a trope that doesn’t bother me. If it’s done right. And what I found was, they were raised together from small children, so naturally you would put that person in a sibling role in your mind; it wasn’t like she was brought into his household as a grown teen. Him having those feelings for her icked me a little because of how it was portrayed. Bro was super obsessed, but in a cold, aloof way. And usually, cold and aloof MMCs are my jam, but creepy bro didn’t work for me. It went for him that he never pushed his feelings onto the FMC; he just tried to control who she dated, which made him quite like the tyrant mother. I felt bad that he didn’t get his own happy ending, but he eventually stood up to the family, so yay, creepy bro.

And to my last point. I’ve watched so many Asian dramas with horrid parents that most often ruin the entire drama for me. Oof. This mom controlled the FMC (and the creepy bro) with an iron fist that I wanted to kung fu the telly every time she appeared! She was so much worse than the shrew, yelling, violent parents, because her gaslighting and manipulating came with a calm exterior. I hated her from start to finish, and to a point; I was irked by the custard spine the FMC had around her. Thankfully, she stood up to her by the end, but it’s a torturous wait for that moment. I know it’s cultural how parents have so much say in who the children marry, so I do try to take that into account when I’m boiling hot with rage at some of the antics lol. But this mom was awful going on about different classes, when she should have been rejoicing this lovely, perfect guy would have done anything for the daughter. She was just a right snob.

Would I watch this show again? Yep. If I was in a Yang Yang mood, but I’d fast forward through the mom scenes and some of the work related plots.

Game fun

The fashion in this drama is absolutely lovely. All the dangly hair bits and ribbons from their robes. I love this unique style of fashion for all characters.

I really enjoyed watching ‘Love Game in Eastern Fantasy.’ It’s a cute and fun, fantasy adventure drama that combines a lot of my favourite things.
We are drawn into the story fairly quickly and there is good pacing throughout, with only some small parts that feel a bit glossed over. The tone of the drama is mostly light, even though there are serious situations, and I think this made me feel less worried for the characters.

I loved the aesthetic of the drama – the beautiful blue skies, lush sceneries and rich, colourful costumes. I loved how vibrant it was. There were also some very dreamy scenes. I’m not sure how much of it was CGI, but the sets really looked very beautiful and perfect for a magical world.

I should have known when I heard the bagpipes that this show was gonna be cheeks

I just finished this stupid-ass show (like a month ago now), and I have a lot to say, both positive and negative. I would give it an 8 (7.95) out of 10, and I am going to say what I liked, what I didn't like, do an episode overview, and be done with this stupid fucking show. So yeah, let's get into it.

Starting out with what I liked, I enjoyed the actors in this quite a bit. I think they all did a pretty good job, even though I could tell they are kind of new at acting. The chemistry between the main couples was good, and that part I enjoyed. While I am not particularly fond of the characters, I think the actors did a good job bringing them to life. The guy who played Rit was so aware that this show was low-key ass, and it was really funny, and I low-key liked it. I wish they did more fourth-wall breaking like they did at the start because that was really funny. He was just like, well aware, like, oh my God, what the fuck am I acting in right now? And I love that for him. Also, regarding actors and stuff I liked about them, the guy who played pure lowkey was way too into his role. Like, oh my God. The looks he was giving the other guy were very good; immaculate acting on his part. He and the main love interest looked really similar, but it is okay. Very good at acting. He was very on the nose, and I hope to see him in some more stuff because I like his acting style. It feels very kind of natural, like the guy who played Rit, but more of a Hey, maybe you need to step back and realize that you guys are not actually in love, kind of natural. Still, I enjoyed it.

Moving on to the overall plot of this show, I have a lot of negative feelings about the plot, but we are going to talk about the positive ones. I really enjoyed the plot twist. I low-key was not expecting that. I was expecting this show to just be like, oh, Rit tells him, Inn gets mad, and then they just spend the whole time making up. But no, Inn has known this entire time, and he, in fact, lied back to Rit about not knowing that he is lying to him, and then he set up the entire show to be a lie on top of a lie, which was low-key good., I cannot lie (see what I did there) because I was not expecting that. With the three musketeers or whatever the fuck they were called, I thought that was weird, but I was not expecting it to be an entire lie. Like, he is paying these people to just get them married and get him in his house, which is low-key crazy. Diabolical planning on his part, that is all I have to say. And then also, with the best friend being in on the lie along with the K-pop idol, holy shit. And Rit had every right to be mad because that was fucking crazy that everyone in his life was in on this goddamn lie. I thought that was low-key well done because I was not expecting that. Also, kind of regarding the plot, I think their sex scenes were well done. They were overdone, but they did well besides the bagpipes. I did not like that. I should have known with the bagpipes that this entire show was going to go downhill from there. But yeah, the sex scenes- some of them felt a little bit out of place, but I think they still did pretty well, so good for them because they brought those to life as well.

Regarding things I didn't like, this entire show. Bullshit on bullshit on bullshit. Starting off with... The main plot, this was... God awful. I thought it was just gonna be like a nice, light watch, but it was just like, kind of sloppy. Like... Okay, so he's a fortune teller with stones, and he lies about fortune telling to get with a guy he's had a crush on since elementary school, but they have like an age gap too, but the guy also had a crush on him in elementary school, so that just gets fucking weird and confusing. They should have done the part where they show that he has had a crush on him since elementary school earlier, because it just got confusing, and I feel like they were getting lost in the sauce with this. And I'm like, okay, yeah, I think my main criticism is that the plot felt sloppy and underdone. Like, you can have underdone plots, but you need, like... To just have the plot be better, because this was just a mess. And I don't blame the actors, because I think they did okay. Uh, but the director-whoever wrote this-we need to go back to the drawing board, pick up the gun, and we need to fucking shoot ourselves, because there's actually no way that we came up with something this fucking stupid. And it's just like your sky, where they have a bar named after the thing, but instead of, like, your sky where they go to the bar once, the entire plot takes place in this fuck-ass bar. And I was like, what the hell? I feel like we're always at the bar, but also we're never at the bar. I'm so fucking confused. And also, the main guy who it's based on does not even own the bar. Like, why is it called Magic Move if he doesn't own the bar? I'm so fucking confused.

I FORGOT ABOUT THE SOUND EFFECTS. OH MY FUCKINGGGGG GODDDDDD. THE BAGPIPES WERE JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG BECAUSE THEY WERE SO FUCKING BAD. WHOEVER DID THAT, I AM GONNA FIND YOU AND DO UNSPEAKABLE ACTS TO YOU, AND THEN T BAG YOUR BODY.

Going into characters, the random guy who tried to split them apart—was he doing that for the love of the game? Was he in love with one of them? I am so confused. That was so underdone and so terrible. I do not know who came up with that, but that was awful. I am so confused. Then the guy sends an AI video to In, and In goes to this abandoned warehouse to find his man, but the man is not there because the video was AI. Then the guy gets arrested; he is cutting himself, and the knife is fake. I am so confused. Who came up with that? You are terrible at your job. I cannot fathom how that went through multiple people, and everybody signed off on that. That was terrible. I also love the girls and their dance thing with the K-pop idol, but no, that felt so irrelevant. They just randomly started doing it. It is like, oh, we have a big competition to go to. What competition are we talking about? What are we doing? What is going on? They never go to the competition. They just do the same dance six times in the same outfit. The K-pop idol just stands there giving false criticism. Do not piss me off. Whoever came up with that, go back to the drawing board and ALSO grab the gun.

In the end, this show is ass; the ending was choppy, the show was choppy, and I'm irritated as fuck, HEY BUT AT LEAST WE HAVE OUR FUCKING BAG PIPIES, RIGHTTTTTT??????

Okay, onto some fun quotes from those episodes. Episode 1: "He has a crush on this tall guy who looks exactly like the guy who runs the bar just slightly cuter and I’m not quite sure how they’re gonna drag this out for 10 more episodes but okay also whoever is on the sound button you need to be fired cause what the fuck are you fucking doing you dumb bitch what the fuck there comes a point we’re past that point and you need to be fired." Episode 2: "This show is so BS and I want to hate it, but I can't lmao." Episode 3: "Holy hickory doo dah bro. This whole show. Okay so he's not wrong about the prophecy because he's in love with its less sexy twin who owns the bar. I’m gonna do one more episode because twist my arm, I guess." Episode 4: "It might be the fact that it’s 1:30 in the morning or the fact that they just played in my face for 47 minutes, but what the fuck." Episode 5: "THERE'S LIKE 6 THINGS HAPPENED AT ONCE, AND I WANT TO HATE IT ESPECIALLY WITH THE BAGPIPES, BUT FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T. I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO HATE THIS DUMB ASS SHIT." Episode 6: "To the guy in the second couple who's not the bar owner, I would watch out after filming bc HOMEBOY LOOKS LIKE HE WANTS TO HIT THAT." "WHY HAVE WE FUCKED MORE TIMES THAN THERE HAVE BEEN EPISODES? ALSO YOURE MOM JUST GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL, AND YALL ARE FUCKING IN THE LIVING ROOMM??? HAVE WE LOST OUR MINDS? I'll answer that YES WE HAVE BITCH." Episode 7: "Someone tell the guy who's playing Pure to lock out for a second because those LOOKS ARE CRAZY." Episode 8: "There are levels to this." Episode 9: "Also, the grandpa died just really quickly, like really quickly, really randomly. I'm so lost. I have one episode left. I'm gonna force myself to watch this shit, but just know I'm not gonna do it happily."

I really want to hate this show, and I do, but not fully, so I guess give it a chance; just make sure your brain is off, and your eyes are closed lmao. Okay bye!

A Beautiful Story, an Unforgettable Love

Blossom is one of those dramas that completely captured my heart. From the very beginning, I was drawn into its beautiful story, emotional depth, and carefully developed characters. The plot was engaging, meaningful, and full of romance, tension, and heartfelt moments. I loved how the story continued to hold my attention and how every important event added something to the characters and their relationship.

The direction was also beautifully done. The drama had a polished and elegant atmosphere, and every scene felt carefully created. The pacing was smooth, the storytelling was easy to follow, and the emotional moments were presented in a way that made them even more powerful. The visuals, costumes, settings, and overall atmosphere created a wonderful world that was easy to become completely immersed in.

The acting was another major strength of Blossom. The entire cast performed very well, but Meng Ziyi was truly outstanding. She brought so much strength, intelligence, emotion, and charm to her character. I loved watching her because she made every scene feel alive. She was strong when she needed to be, vulnerable when the story required it, and incredibly expressive throughout the drama. Her performance made the character feel real, memorable, and deeply lovable.

Li Yunrui was also excellent in his role. He gave a sincere, powerful, and emotionally convincing performance. His character had strength and determination, but he also showed warmth and vulnerability in the right moments. He matched Meng Ziyi perfectly, and together they created a relationship that felt genuine and deeply emotional.

However, the biggest highlight of this drama for me was definitely the chemistry between Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui. I absolutely loved their energy as a couple. Their chemistry was natural, intense, sweet, and incredibly captivating. Every time they appeared together, the entire atmosphere changed. Whether they were sharing a quiet look, having an emotional conversation, facing danger, or simply standing next to each other, their connection was always impossible to ignore.

What I loved most was that their relationship felt emotional as well as romantic. They were not just a beautiful couple; they felt like two people who truly understood, respected, and supported each other. Their bond developed in a way that made me care about every step of their journey. The trust between them, the way they protected each other, and the emotions hidden behind their smallest gestures made their romance even more special.

Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui have the kind of chemistry that makes you look forward to every scene they share. I gave Blossom a 10/10 on MyDramaList, and I gave it with all my heart. This is a drama I will remember for its beautiful story, its emotional journey, and most of all, for the incredible love and chemistry between its leads. The writing is extraordinary, but what elevates this drama into masterpiece territory is its authenticity. Every character feels real, flawed, and painfully human. Nothing feels exaggerated or forced. The slow pacing isn't a weakness, it's one of the drama's greatest strengths. It allows silence, expressions, and ordinary conversations to carry emotions that words alone never could. The result is one of the most emotionally powerful and realistic stories I've ever watched. I found myself crying multiple times, not because the drama tried to manipulate my emotions, but because everything felt so honest.

IU delivers what I genuinely consider one of the greatest acting performances I've ever seen. Stripping away all her idol glamour, IU completely disappears into Ji-an's cold, guarded, and battered persona. Every micro-expression, guarded glance, and heavy breath carries years of trauma and survival instinct. Lee Ji-an is one of the finest female characters I've encountered in any form of media, and IU brought her to life with incredible restraint, vulnerability, and emotional depth. It's still difficult for me to believe she didn't win the Baeksang Best Actress award for this role. To me, this is a benchmark for character writing, emotional storytelling, and human connection. I've watched over a hundred K-dramas, and My Mister remains firmly in my all-time top five. It's not just a masterpiece of Korean television. It's one of the finest stories about humanity that I've ever experienced. ❤️
