One of the best.....

Shades (uncut on YouTube) has to be one of the very best series out there. It is only 6 episodes, BUT there is more to come from this series.

If you are going to watch it, I would 100% truthly recommend you subscribe and join the FRT Entertainment channel on YouTube, for level 2 membership it is still pretty reasonable in cost, especially because you get to watch Shades the series Uncut version.

This version is absolutely right on the fine line of what is acceptable for youtube and tv with the simulated sex scenes. These young ladies have all been very brave and daring in shooting this series, I will say that!

The storylines are top notch, not a single bit of it felt like it dropped off or just simply vanished like what has happened with other gl series. You can truly see the heart and energy that was put into writing the scripts, deciding the storylines, choosing the actresses and other cast. Plus all the other hardwork that goes into filming a series of this size. The behind the scenes people should be very happy and proud with what they have produced with this series.

It shows quite alot of different forms of love and falling in love. Plus a whole variety of trials and tribulations that come with same sex love and the drama that often occurs same sex only schools, especially all girls schools.

I will be eagerly waiting for season 2 of this series and hoping it is just as good as this one. If the same people in front and behind the cameras are all involved I just know they will 'smash it out of the park' again.

I didnt like that I had to wait (Im in England) for this series to be released on this side of the world, but now im kind of glad because I may have missed out on the uncut version.

Thankyou for all your hard work in this series, i love it so much.

I don't quite agree with the rest of reviews so here I am writing my own!
I started this drama solely because it's a short drama and the synopsis sounded interesting!

the acting is meh/inconsistent! (I would've called it bad if I hadn't seen worse!)
the dubbing is bad! lots of incoherent dubs which is hard to ignore.
fight scenes are not good.
the music is annoying.

ZhiZhi has one of those childish voice overs which almost made me drop it! thankfully she doesn't have much screen time.

The story/plot:
-it's a shame that we don't get to see why ml is so in love with fl! he is a heart eyed loving fool from the get go!
-Luo Wushuang's love for ml is as mysterious for me! Her outfits are pretty.
the lack of build up for all relationships has made it extremely shallow and I don't care who is with who!
the lack of chemistry between the leads didn't help either.

-too much "low budget gore" was used for a drama that doesn't know if it's a lighthearted comedy or serious one. (more details on the warnings at the end of this review)

-I think this drama needs a "comedy" tag, it's trying so hard to be funny, but it's not working for me. it's more on the cringe side.
-it got a bit boring midway but I pushed through and skipped some bits to be able to finish it. (I don't think I missed anything while doing so)

It's not unwatchable but it's not something I would recommend either.
**********************
!!!CONTENT WARNING!!! for those who want to watch:
It's not too graphic thanks to the low budget but there are scene such as:
*a hand cut off by sword flying mid air in ep4 and blood.
*there are some bits of torture scenes like throwing hot water in ep 6.
*unnecessary amount of blood spatter when someone hit their head to the table in ep 8.

Predictable, could have done with fewer episodes

Yoo Yeon Seok played his part well. It was fun watching all his different personas come out. I especially loved watching his brother-in-law discovering and coming to terms with what was going on - comedy gold. A couple of the stories made me cry.

Unfortunately, as I was watching, I found myself thinking, "Okay, this will happen next", and I was usually right. So, for me, I couldn't be totally in the story, if that makes any sense. I was always aware that I was just watching the drama.

The romance angle was unnecessary and didn't work. Romance is my favorite genre, but it needs to make sense. Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom had no chemistry, and she seemed too old for him.

If you have nothing else that you want to watch and you need something easy, you'll probably like this one.

The cinematography is really good. I had a great time watching this. I was interested in how the plot would be presented in the nine episodes when I first saw the teaser, but after viewing it, I was shocked by how skillfully the background was constructed; it didn't feel hurried or boring. The director did an excellent job of portraying the story.

This is my first time watching a short drama such as this and in all honesty I am not sure how to rate it. I found the acting on all sides, especially the main leads are very good. It's. The story is the issue - defies common sense and not coherent. Such a pity because the chemistry between the leads were great.

It’s about revenge

I love the first 4 ep and the way she killed Xiaoxun for revenge her dad and her clan just like the way he killed her in her past life (the scene that I was waiting for). He deserves to die from the start I hate him so much. If I was Chuzhao at that time when she came back her life I would kill him immediately when I first saw his face no matter what (my opinion). You know what I almost drop this drama in ep13 and I haven’t watch it for days cuz it’s started to get boring and especially everytime when she plans to do something or what she does is always failed. Anyway, I decided to change my mind and start to binge watch it again on yesterday and I finally finished watching it today. You can say I forced myself to finish watching it because of Zhou Yiran and Chen duling. Lastly, I think it’s not that bad she did great at the end and we are so proud of her. Chu Zhao is showing us that woman can do absolutely anything.

Fake Fact Lips completely sets the standard for how the rivals-to-lovers trope should be done. The absolute highlight of this series is the electric, sizzling chemistry between Hori Kaito and Sato Yusuke; they make the childish, prideful "first to fall in love loses" bet feel incredibly charged and mature. Every single office argument and private moment is laced with a heavy, undeniable tension that keeps you glued to the screen. Because the 9-episode format moves so quickly, the only real downside is wishing we had more time to dive even deeper into their shifting dynamics and high school flashbacks. It is an absolute, fast-paced masterpiece that leaves a massive impression despite its "short" length.

A rushed speed-run of a romance with zero spark

The body-swap premise had a lot of potential, but the micro-drama format completely ruins any chance of real substance. Because this series is so incredibly short, the plot flies by at a breakneck, warp-speed pace that leaves character growth and emotional milestones feeling totally unearned. To make a timeline that rushed actually work, you need magnetic lead chemistry—but unfortunately, there is almost no natural spark between the main characters. You are forced to watch two people check off romantic plot boxes as fast as possible, making the entire relationship feel entirely forced and shallow. It's a passable, quick watch if you just want some basic body-swap antics, but as a romance, it completely misses the mark.

He fell first... anddddd then just fell harder

The leads and their chemistry was truly so amazing❤️‍🔥. I thought they deserved a quick review of praise.

The story is what got me intrigued first, since I haven't watched a good Joseon era time slip with a new plot kdrama in many many years. Then the romantic comedy-like aspect of the first few episodes was really great. They had me laughing, especially our beautiful Lim Ji Yeon. Her comedic acting was hilarious! She embodied this character so so well. Especially after seeing her act in such drastically different roles. I'm glad she had fun with this one.

The male lead, Heo Nam Jun, was OUT OF THIS WORLD. This is my first time watching him as a lead, as he only recently has been getting main roles, and I honestly did not think he was attractive. Frankly, my opinion was neither positive nor negative, I just didn't have enough experience watching him. But his character was written MARVELOUSLY, playing the bad boy image who is very rich and successful (a great plus) and stoic in forming relationships with anyone. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say: watching him go from IDC who you are to I WILL WATCH THE WORLD BURN FOR YOU was really sweet.

Their chemistry? Fire 🔥
The plot? Also fire 🔥
Side characters? Just as great 🔥

I would not rewatch it though. NOT because it wasn't a great kdrama, but because it's one of those shows you invest yourself into and then leave it as a nice memory in your past. But again, I rarely rewatch dramas, so this could mean nothing.

Watch it! I do wish they explored the other characters, like his family, a tad bit more.. and I guess another "downside" was that it's only 14 episodes D: I could watch 18-20 easy. Maybe show their past lives a bit more idk. Still loved it. Probably will go to bed now dreaming of him.

Sweet!

This was a sweet little additon to the original story, they could have added this to the series, but this as a little bonus video is also sweet.

The chemistry between Mile and Apo is soo good!

Definatly go and watch this little extra clip.

A magnificent and very romantic historical series.

PLOT: The FL, daughter of a nobleman and official, married to the descendant of a line of merchants, was raised by her maternal grandmother. Her grandmother works for the Third Master [ML] (very powerful at court, but under the thumb of his mentor). This mentor (who will become the de facto ruler of the country after the emperor's death) is an ambitious reformer, but power-hungry. The FL returns to the capital to help her mother, who has been sidelined in favor of a concubine and her daughter.
Corruption, power struggles, interest conflicts between branches, marriage stakes, etc., all play out.
The presumptive heir of a marquis, who is in love with the FL, becomes her best friend and helps the FL and ML in their struggles.

+++ ☆✲゚。(((´♡‿♡`+)))。゚✲☆ Breathtaking trio of actors: Ci Sha / Ren Min / Winwin
+++ All the actors are excellent, bringing to life well-developed and endearing characters. [I'm in love the future emperor]
+++ Magnificent production: superb costumes, sets, landscapes, framing & lighting [exceptional camera work], hyper-realistic fight and war scenes, OST. Everything is perfect!

### The story has moments of inconsistency, especially in the last episodes (4-5)
### The ending is rushed.

=> Excellent series, which could have been a masterpiece with better writing.

+++ ☆✲゚。(((´♡‿♡`+)))。゚✲☆ Trio d'acteurs époustouflant : Ci Sha / Ren Min / Winwin

Perfect Casting. Leads can act

First half of the drama made me laugh, and giddy at the same time. The airplane scene is soo unforgetable, and so funny. It’s nice to see mature actors get casted in this drama. I am in awe of their acting skills, which made the scene more heartbreaking or heartwarming. The pairing is so fresh. The villain is soo annoying, so I just tried to focus on the leads and their journey. I can rewatch this drama again and again.

The Female Lead Character is annoying from past life until her new life

I dislike the FL, from past life, she was stubborn and led to ashes, given the second chance, she is still act like what she wants without rethink.
Always do what she wants, want to save the whole country by herself but burdening others.
If she is that capable, she won't be deceived in her past life, if in her present life, she understands that she needs to restrain and think more, not act more blantantly.
i can't continue to watch since I don't like the FL character, it is not Chen Du Ling issue, it is just not fits my personal preference.
Nothing wrong with leads only this is not the storyline i like.

"I am obsessed with you more than you can understand, you just never saw..."

Honestly, I never expected it to be the way it is (in a good way). It wasn't really something groundbreaking for a generic J-BL which really set the bar high with their sizzling natural chemistry and most most importantly NO DEAD FISH KISSES?! I could never imagine!

I enjoyed their banters and was lowkey swooning over their natural chemistry. But the latter half did disappoint me. That coconut haired Futami and Ryo's unnecessary low self-esteem was really testing my patience. They single handedly managed to piss off Zen! Storyline wise, it wasn't making sense because what type of rivals bicker like 5yr old kids. The audience could literally feel that tension between them and only those two didn't realise...does it make sense? But you know, unexpectedly it worked out very well!

Shoutout to the child actors who played their childhood characters. Not only the old actors, but the younger guys were so good. They matched with their facial and behavioral expressions accurately.
And the BGM was refreshingly amazing. The upbeat music lifted the overall vibe and created a gripping atmosphere. That was really something new and I loved it.

Overall, I had fun binging this. If you're looking for something light, fluffy rom-com to lift your mood then it'll be worth watching. Just don't expect too much hehe.

P.S: ZEN AND RYO WERE REALLY REALLY VERY VERY CUTE AND WHOLESOME TOGETHER. Idk I felt that I really needed to mention this 🙈🩷

They swapped bodies → they'll swap back if they love each other and are serious about the kiss.

It's a shame the drama was so short. I enjoyed it and often had butterflies in my stomach.

•Story: 9/10
- beautiful story in my opinion
-Happy end
-Cute

•Acting/Casting: 7,5/10
-The acting was well done, emotions were there, but Acting wasn't that good that I would fall over lmao
-I didn't know the actors before, but they were suitable for the role and looked good

•Music: 6/10
-No special music, except for the music at the end. I found the music fitting and beautiful in the end

•Rewatch value:
-I would definitely watch it again, because it was a sweet drama. The ending was good too.
