Good Family Drama
Overall, this is very good drama, which can be enjoyed by all the age groups. The only comment I can give is that there was no sign of the apparel boss who cheated the money of people and run away. The ending is also not clear of how she came out of the stocks nightmare. What will she do in the ending is also not clear.

This drama is a disappointment and a deception of the viewer.
It started off brilliantly and I was sure that after many years of drought, something good had finally appeared. The humor, great production, blocking, costumes—the plot a bit banal and cliché-ridden, but done nicely.Unfortunately, around episode 8 everything started to fall apart. The light drama began turning into boredom, and eventually into some kind of political tragedy, and the so-called character development of the heroine turned her into yet another generic strong female lead—and, as usual, undeservedly so. The way she killed the person she killed was so absurd that it fits 100% into the fantasies of naive teenagers and 0% into logic and narrative consistency.
Never mind that. Each episode became more and more boring, irritating, slow, and based solely on talking and suffering. So what happened was a crime against the viewer—the viewer was deceived with the promise of a light comedic romance and got a tragedy instead. And to anyone who says, “you should have read the description,” I say, “get stuffed.” Descriptions lie—I judge based on what I see, not what someone wrote, and those are always misleading, because they cram everything in.
Was this drama entertaining? The first few episodes—yes. Was it, in the end, a waste of time? For someone who doesn’t like boring politics, stupid heroines and heroes, and boredom—yes. My not tragically low rating comes from the really great production quality and those first few episodes that actually made sense.

Worth watching… 100% confirmed
The best so far for Chinese historical drama… ML is super handsome and FL is cute and beautiful at all angles. Their acting skills were excellent. For fighting scenes, they looked legit… not like some other dramas where for fighting scenes, the characters are like dancing in the air instead of real combat. I am not going to say anymore, just go and watch the drama, you won’t regret it.Was this review helpful to you?

《逐玉》 Zhu Yu — Honest Review
The cinematography of this drama is one of the greatest I've seen so far. The director definitely knows what he's doing and I am all for it. From the first moment Fan Changyu entered the screen to the war scenes to the end, the cinematography never falter. To me, this is what 2026 cinematography should look like. I'm not going to lie, I have watch a lot of Chinese dramas and I always think to myself how can the cinematography be so lacking when we're in the age where it shouldn't be so lacking. But this one... it was beyond magnificent. To me, this drama was really well done. From the casting to the set to the clothing. Everything was well done. You can definitely tell that the director pour his love into making this drama for us to watch. I haven't read the book so I don't know much about the plot or the characters, but I can definitely say that everyone did an AMAZING job!
Fan Changyu —
She was a breath of fresh air. I know that a lot of Chinese dramas make the female lead weak, even if they are supposed to be strong, but Changyu, she broke the stereotype. She was blunt and arrogant but she can back it up. She was not the smartest in terms of what a woman should be in that time, but she was wonderful in her own way and I am glad that Xie Zheng never tried to change her. Her love for those close to her may lead her to do reckless things, but it comes from a good place. I know that she received a lot of criticism for drugging Xie Zheng or knocking out Li Huai'an, but she did that because she cannot afford to lose anymore people that she love and care for. She had lost so many along the way and she didn't want to lose more. Her entire village was slaughtered by a psychopath who was not only intrigued with her but also vengeful towards her. So, I can understand why she did that. To me, her recklessness actually play towards Xie Zheng's greater cause. No one, not even the enemy, expected a young lady to be so strong so they underestimated her. She killed two important people just because they underestimated her strength and well.
I love Tian Xi Wei so I went into this drama rooting for her, but I am not one to watch because of my favorite actress or actors. I started because of her but I stayed because of Fan Changyu. Tian Xi Wei did an amazing job portraying Fan Changyu. What I really love about Tian Xi Wei is her expression. Her eyes, her eyebrows, her face were able to convey what she was feeling without saying a word.
Xie Zheng/Yan Zheng —
The great Marquis of Wu'an. He was cunning and adorable, but he lacked communication. I enjoyed him as Yan Zheng though. As Yan Zheng, he was gentle, protective, and caring towards the Fan sisters and the Zhao couple. As Xie Zheng — I wished we were able to see more of Xie Zheng. I mean, even when he was Xie Zheng, he was still acting like Yan Zheng. He was the clingy, matrilocal husband. I wanted to see more of the ruthless Marquis of Wu'an. What I loved about him is that he never wanted to change her. He let her be herself throughout the entire drama. He knows that she doesn't know the military laws, so he concocted a scheme to make her understand. He was, to me, the only one who understands her.
Zhang Ling He — I first watched in Love Between Devil and Fairy and I thought that he did an amazing job there. I didn't watch his other dramas -- actually, I tried to watch his other dramas, but the storyline was not doing it for me, so I dropped them. Honestly, he was perfect as the Marquis of Wu'an. I can definitely say that his acting improved since Devil and Fairy.
Qian Qian—
She was one of my favorite character from the drama. From the beginning, she was always independent and we don't see a lot of that in dramas. What I loved about her is that she never wavered and kept true to who she was even when she was held captive by Qi Min. I wished she had a better ending than just being stuck in the palace. She only ever wanted her freedom and now she's confined within the palace walls. I hope that she had a better ending in the novel. She deserves to be carefree.
Qi Min —
I pitied him the most. He was the most tragic character in this drama. I know that a lot of people were only giving him grace because Deng Kai is handsome, but I looked beyond that. I looked into his motives, his story, and his reasons. To me, his life parallels Xie Zheng but with different outcomes.
Two boys who lost everything overnight but one was good and the other evil.
HOWEVER, I gave Qi Min grace because he was different from Xie Zheng. Yes, he lost both of his parents over night, but he was subjected to undeniably and horrible pain just so that one day he can take the throne. AND that is why I pitied him and gave him grace.
He was a man who spent 17 years of his life living as someone else while enduring so much pain. He was burnt and was treated via skin graft — which I can only imagine how painful it must be for him. He endured all of that pain just to be hated and neglected by Lord Changxin.
His relationship with Qian Qian is a suffocating, terrifying obsession born out of his own broken psyche. To me, he was so broken that just by having Qian Qian by his side, even if it meant she is going to hate him, he didn't care, as long as she was with him.
Sui Yuan Qing —
Honestly, I don't have anything against him. He did what he was told. He followed his father because his father truly believed that they are the rightful heir to the throne. As psychotic as he is, he really did love Qi Min and that to me, was his redeeming character arc.
He truly believe to the end that Qi Min cared about him and he was so broken when he realized that the older brother he loved so much had no feelings for him whatsoever.
I would love to see him fight with Changyu again. They had so much chemistry during their scenes together that I almost forgot he wasn't the male lead.
---------------------
What I didn't like —
I wished that this drama was longer. It needed more than 40 episodes. I feel that they can pull a "Love Like the Galaxy" and do a 2-part drama. I feel that the political and court scenes were reduced to make it all fit into 40 episodes. I wanted them to spend more time in the court and in the capital. It feels rushed to me.
---------------------
I loved that they went back to Lin'an. The scene where she was walking through the town and those that have died was calling her was so heartwarming. I wish that it was real. Lin'an Town lost a lot.
Overall rating: 9/10
I only gave this a 9 because of the last few episodes. I wished that they extended this drama to 50 episodes to fill in all of the political stuff and what happened 17 years ago. I really do feel that that was not fully explained. I was craving for more. I wanted to know more about what happened.

When Revenge Turns Into Comedy
I came in expecting a revenge story…I ended up watching a comedy.
A woman gets betrayed by her best friend—
or whatever she is at this point, it honestly doesn’t matter.
She loses everything and ends up in a psychiatric hospital.
Three years later, she’s released and arrives at an apartment
that someone has been paying for.
Of course, we’re never told who.
In no time, she’s already set up in a room with a corkboard full of photos
and red strings connecting people, planning her “master revenge,”
with super computers analyzing the stock market.
The show sells you a “mastermind”…
but never shows how she actually builds anything.
No money, no contacts, no resources…
yet she controls everything from a room with three monitors.
They even throw in the Kelly Criterion as if it could predict the market,
when it only manages risk.
That’s not intelligence… that’s math used as smoke.
A man falls from a building and is completely destroyed.
Right next to him, his phone is perfectly fine… still working.
Intact.
And the final punchline:
“sell everything… buy everything”…
and the market obeys.
This isn’t strategy…
it’s the writer moving prices.
The series follows that typical Chinese mini-story format
with instant karma and quick payoffs.
1/5 if you’re looking for logic or tension.
5/5 if you want to laugh without meaning to.

Romance disguised as Mystery
I love everything in the plot other than the relationship between the main characters. It's very clear that who has feelings for who from episode 1 but everyone pretending to be dumb.In the story, most of the characters is love brained and doing everything for love. I agree that sometimes a well written plot can give love/romance a great reason to do things. But what I see in this story is characters who blindly in loves, and do things that hurts other outside of their relationship because of their love, and somehow people who is hurts are ALL okay with it?? I really hate the unrealistic concept like nobody is angry and gladly accept being only supporting character in the lives of the main characters.
From the middle point of the drama, basically I already know the culprit, and so does the main characters, basically the fact is sealed, but there is no progression in the crime investigation which makes it really boring for me. What really bring another mystery to the table is only one person, which is the female detective that is NOT a main character (I love her).
If you are looking for detective/crime/mystery (like me) you will be very disappointed because the only thing I see here is romance. But if you love romance but just looking into different theme like mystery murder then this is probably for you. I didn't say that the mystery-murder plot is bad but the romance that thrown away your brain outside of window feels like fish-bone stuck in the throat.

Dekho jhunt nahi bolungi ..thoda boring to tha...
I am not a chai lover ..itni chai ko mene apni puri life me nahi pii jitni inhone a drama me pili ... Jokes apart plot was good .. detailed .. ek taraf swayamwar chal rha hai the FL is supposed to pick a groom more like matrilocal husband for her wahi opposite side the ML who is an investigator is dealing with amnesia .. contrast was good .. but I can't help but think kash thoda spice hota ..Gul nazar was amazing but uska character was very constrained ... Plot was pretty much predictable esa kuch tha nahi that can keep you second guessing ... Haan costumes was something which grabbed my attention .. seems like they spend a good budget on styling ... A tight slap on haters face
I controlled myself from writing any review for this show for so long .. but the misleading reviews from haters made me so do ... First thing first ... If you don't have a taste in chinese drama don't watch them at all ... Yha aakar don't mislead others into thinking this drama is not serving anything ... People jo queen of tears ko 10 marks deke bethe h wo complaint kar rhe h the story is slow ... Look at the audacity ... Some oscar Wildes are saying acting wasnt upto the mark it was flat .. i think the artists pulled it quite well as per their characters' demand abhi kisi ko wolf of wallstreet ka dicaprio dekhna tha to iska kuch nhi kiya jaa sakta . ...And in the end come the most shameless people saying music was not good .... Someone ask these moffos to hear the song played in back ground when ML comes to save FL in ep 19-20 ... If you still say the music wasn't good after hearing that song .. I will say you are one hundred percent tone deaf ... Kaano me hearing aid lgwao ...
I personally think the show was amazing... Everything from plot to cast .. set details ... Action... Costumes ..etc everything looks pretty decent and no less than an art ..dekhkar lagta hai dil se mehnat ki gayi hai ..so please inn do takke k reviews pr believe na karein .. all these reviews are posted by haters who will criticise no matter how great the show is ... And inme se kuch to zhao liying k fans h jo har drama or artist k comments box me jaakr same comment karte h ... this artist copies liying ..that artist copies liying ...liying na hui Angelina jolie ho gayi duniya isi ko copy kr rhi hai ..haan nahi to ...
I wrote this review in hinglish slang ... But even if you dont understand Hindi you will get a good number of take aways for english parts of my review

If you only care for chemistry between the main couple
The main ml and fl have a lot of chem together and I really do love their romantic scenes together(pretty passionate and hot). They even had a flash marriage in ep 12 in the heat of the moment and passion. Good production and visuals really also added to the reason why I could ignore glaring communication issues and the bonkers of a "plot" in favour of finishing the drama to see the main couple have a happy ending. The start was just good enough for me to persevere alongside the option of fast-forwarding and watching at 2x speed. Plus I love Bi Wen Jun's acting idk why his visuals and vibe just suits my tastes. Need to turn off brain and be in a specific slightly more horny mood to watch, but it's pretty light show to bingeWas this review helpful to you?

Review for both seasons as one
Not a big fan of romance-heavy plots and definitely not one with a harem. But this one went way above expectations in season one. The majority of the actors did an amazing job and I was really happy to finally see a large cast of younger folks actually doing some serious acting. This series also has enough reviews with substantial plot discussions so I'll just summarize what made this one special and what made it falter for me.Positives:
- The character for the FL was incredibly charming and loaded with substance especially during her time disguised as a man.
- The three main male love interests were full of complex depth and what connected them to her through her journey were very natural considering the deity/demon aspects. Xiang Liu and Xiyan Cang Xuan in particular were extraordinary and while Tushan Jing fit his character pretty well initially he became bland relatively quickly.
- I've lost count on the amount of tears that were jerked. It managed to drudge up a variety of emotions from my own ancient relationships that I haven't thought about in years.
- The series does a good job with bringing to life the complexities with relationships in general while moving the plot forward with the underlying political issues.
Negatives (mostly in season two):
- The character of the FL began to falter in the latter half of season two. But at this point, you're already invested so you're likely to try hard to justify her actions. It was disappointing to see her slowly evolve into self-pity and selfishness.
- The plot gets increasingly muddled pacing and unnecessary out-of-place scenes. Why did they bother "reuniting" her with her mother? It really diminished the build-up of her parents and their history. They would have done a better job with a real flashback.
- The scenes with her chosen love interest starts to get excessive. It should have been used more on Xiang Liu to build out more of his backstory (though I may be biased as he's the main one bringing on those tears and heartaches).
- It was unsatisfying to see the FL's lack of appreciation and empathy toward the other two love interests and their sacrifices when her focuses shift onto just the one.
- While the special effects on the deities/demons were done pretty well, the fight scenes were below average. I wish we saw more of the transformations.
Nevertheless, I was totally hooked on season one against my will which is what keeps the score high. Season two is a direct continuation and I ended up speeding up a few episodes because of the negatives listed above.

Outstanding
If you are a fan of female protagonist showing all shades of gore ..this is for you ... In a world of everyone saying forgiveness is a virtue this show feels like a breath of fresh air with soothing and lingering smell of justice... (I know majority audience ko gore pasand nahi ata but I love it)Apart from that the aesthetic visual and the styling was another appealing thing about this show ...park shinhye single handedly carried the entire thing on her petite shoulders but korean drama industry me 15+ saal kaam krne k bad she can pull any role effortlessly. Well the show offers crime but not investigation genre so keep that in mind while watching ... It has little lucifer like appeal to it ..means crime h but but investigation k liye magic use karne ki wajah se you won't see a proper investigation trupe ..if you what I mean ... Plus unlike lucifer the protagonist herself delivers the justice.
I loved watching it hope you will like it too. .

Stunning chemistry and a well thought-out plot
I tuned into this one about halfway and it quickly became something I looked forward to every morning.Individually, the leads perfectly embodied their roles, but together, the chemistry simply jumped off the screen. They were just so good together in every single scene they were in, whether it was a steamy one, an action one, or a funny one.
I really liked how much of the world we got to see as the characters journeyed from place to place, starting from Lin'an Village, to the military, and then to the royal court and all the politics that came with it.
This is a minor gripe but I do think the pacing was a little off at times. I really liked the slower, slice-of-life feeling in Lin'an, but after we left and went to the military camp, there were just so many close calls and fake-outs with the identity reveal that it got quite frustrating. The final arc where the backstory is revealed also felt a little rushed to me? While I think it got a lot of screentime (and our leads got less), I'm not sure the way everything played out had quite the climax I was expecting, especially with some of the antagonists scheming for 30+ episodes just to fall in less than 15 minutes.
I'm also pretty mixed on the "second pairing" — in quotes because the show seemed to contradict itself about how they wanted to portray them. It was definitely not a romance and was toxic and abusive, but they also had a lot of those slow motion steamy scenes, and a sort of(?) redemption. kind of Other than that, there are hints of family and friendship that are nice to see but it's really not significant — which was kind of a double-edged sword because it meant that I didn't care that much for the side characters. But on the other hand, the main leads were what I really cared about and I was happy to get as much as I could of them.

Worth to watch!
