I love this drama every flippin bit of it. I finished it a while ago though but ive only recently joined mydramalist. This is my favourite drama that I miss so much. The cast is fraggin awesome but nothing beats the storyline. The storyline is like just like 'yup you win'. There aren't any confusing love triangles or annoying romances only awesome bromances lol. ok dry. but in all seriousness its truly an awesome storyline that we can all in some way relate to and I think that's why I really enjoyed watching this drama. The friendships formed, broken and formed again are all reflective of real life friendships, truly one of the main reasons I loved this drama. Its absolutely moving and there was none of this bumping into rich people eventually becoming lovers kinda thing. Also the pressure the characters would experience we have gone through but probably differently. I also personally liked this drama because its interesting to see how someone perceives high schoolers nowadays, how accurate it is and which parts are like DRY that's not real. You will watch this drama and just be like 'mmm yup we one of them at school' 'oh yup the strict but secretly cool teacher' I definitely recommend this drama to anyone and everyone its worth the watch and worth a re-watch. BEST DRAMA OF ALL TIME :D to me :)

personally ive always had a thing for anything with fighting in it martial arts, kung fu, karate anything really. Because with fighting comes good friendship.. always. Well that's the pattern ive noticed. Holy Land is like that. The fighting scenes are not the greatest but the storyline is pure. None of this girls pretending to be boys with mixed up love triangles. Just a guy finding out what he is capable of. You also take a lot away from the drama importance of friendship, easily losing sight of who you are and learning from mistakes its a bomb drama. I prefer stuff like this, its like one of those dramas where you can nod your head and be like "yeah ive seen something like that before" or "I know someone like that" clean drama awesome cast and as always theres always that one funny character that breaks the tension :D loved the drama :D

It is a long time ago since I watched this drama, so I don't remember all the details. But there was no review or even a comment to this series, so I wanted to write something.

I liked the series. I remember it as easy to watch, with a lot of funny moments. If you are looking for sophisticated humour, you're in the wrong place, it is more of the slapstick kind.

The mother was a great character, but I loved Saul (Li Ya Shou) the most. He was very cute. Lei Sheng Da was quite nice too.

The acting is not great, but I had the feeling it was somewhat done on purpose. It was just the typical overacting you see in more of the Chinese drama's.

If you are looking for something light and funny, with a bit of gender-bender and cute romance this is a series for you. Be aware that there is a love triangle (I know a lot of people are getting sick of those).

I've just finished watching the Finale moments ago and decided to write a review right away.
I know this drama's already got a high rating, still at first I was hesitant to watch it.
At times it was because I was in no mood for family dramas, at times I was in no mood for melodramas and preferred comedies, but I'm so glad I decided to watch it.

I rarely Give a drama a perfect 10, but this one SURE deserves it.

The Story: A very well written story and script, that not only moves you greatly but also makes one think and reconsider the meaning of a lot of things that may seem obvious, it makes wonder what you would have done if you were in each and every character's shoes (which is by the way one of the greatest proofs of a great story) and wonder whether what the character actually done was the right thing or not.
It's a story about maternity and what it really means, what makes a woman turn into a mother and what makes a girl into a daughter, the unconditional love that both share, "love free of charges" as the main character call it.

The Cast: The acting in this one leaves you utterly speechless. If I say it's PERFECT it definitely won't be an exaggeration. Above all Ashida Mana was spectacular, an acting prodigy for sure. Matsuyuki Yasuko also proved just how great an actress she was, she was really very convincing with her facial expressions saying a hundred things without needing any lines. All the other characters however big or small, they all delivered a very good acting especially all three mothers (Takahata Atsuko, Ono Machiko & Tanaka Yuko)

The Music: I loved the OST in particular and found it really fitted the drama's atmosphere a lot. The theme song was however the best part, the moment it played was always the moment you found your tears flowing without you even noticing.

Rewatch Value: This is a drama I will SURE rewatch, I believe it deserves rewatching it with a family member!!

I totally recommend this drama to everyone, even drama fans who don't really fancy Family dramas and believe them too melodramatic for their tastes, give this one a try and I assure you WON'T REGRET IT!!

Okay! So I finished this drama just like 30 minutes ago in four days so it's fresh in my mind.
The story is great, it's original, it's neat, and the suspense made it hard for me to not press the next episode. Although there were a few scenes that I skipped because I got bored. (mainly car scenes because they lasted too long but it wasn't too severe)

The acting and cast were amazing. Honestly, the acting is good. If you're scared too watch this drama because you might think there are bad actors, just watch it. The acting is amazing. And the characters were just perfect.

Music, I gave it a lower mark because there was never an ost that stuck in my mind.

The first few episodes may have you bored, but just keep watching it, because you'll probably get hooked after 5 episodes.

Idk, a lot of people say it's pretty similar to qihm but I didn't find it similar.
It's more of melodrama but, there are the happy moments that will make you smile and laugh because it's too cute.

WATCH IT.

I really don't have a bad word to say about this entire drama. I loved it - from the very beginning episode to the final, it was delightfully enthralling. Though I'm not a stranger to the whole, 'girl pretending to be a boy' character concept, (seen in 'To the Beautiful You', 'Mulan' 'You're Beautiful' and 'Coffee Prince' for example), I truly loved the way this aspect was presented - creative, unique and believable (if you ignore the fact that she really does look like a girl even when dressed as a boy).

The storyline of this drama was truly brilliant; when one problem was solved, another arose, all believable and suited to the drama as a whole. There is not a single thing that I would want changed. The ending, might I say without giving anything away, in my opinion, was perfect!

The acting/cast, I cannot fault them. I came to enjoy all of the characters, which is very rare for me in a drama - there's always someone you loathe and although there were those detestable characters in this drama - I understood why they were acted the way they did and that was refreshing. I loved the cast of this drama and believe they were all perfectly suited to their roles - I can't fault them. They all worked well together and made the story all that more believable and lovable. Also, I think it must be noted, if you're after eye-candy, this drama has SO much to offer - Song Joong Ki (if you haven't seen him in Werewolf Boy, I recommend that too), Yoo Ah In (I completely fell for his character, Moon Jae Shin), Park Yoo Chun and even Jun Tae Soo.

Music - loved it. The music... and I mean every piece of music, was well-suited to the drama and I strongly believe it not only complimented the drama but enhanced it.

Overall this drama quite obviously (from my hopefully glowing review) would receive a solid 10, in my opinion. I absolutely loved Sunkyunkwan Scandal, it surely is one of my favourites. I seriously recommend this drama! I'm not the biggest fan of historical dramas but this one was truly memorable - all for good reasons. If you begin watching it, do yourself a favour and stick around to see the very last episode - completely worth it, you won't be able to fight a smile.

This review may contain spoilers
Before any of you die-hard BoF fans rage at me for the ratings, please not that this is my own *personal* opinion, ergo you don't have to read it if you don't like it. II'm not trying to be mean or rude, I'm just saying that everyone has an opinion and you have to accept that.
----
"Boys Over Flowers" might have been my first drama ever, but I can't really remember. I do remember that this was the first drama I watched I finished. At the time, I really had no idea what to expect, but seeing how much the friend who introduced it to me loved this drama, I figured it had to be pretty good. So I watched it and wondered how exactly a mess like this got such high ratings.
Story: Speaking from an objective standpoint, BoF is a hot mess. The fans must have been really forgiving to fall in love with characters who drove kids to suicide, and a story that had the main couple breaking up and getting together pretty much every other episode. I like romance and watching the OTP get through conflicts victorious, but I also like having another overlying story arc to keep me interested. In here, was there even something beyond Jan Di's and Jun Pyo's romance? I didn't even ship them.
Acting: Lee Min Ho, despite his mane of shame, is a good actor. I haven't really seen him anywhere else, but he's good here. Kim Bum is outstanding and his chemistry with Kim So Eun was pretty much the only reason I kept watching this. Kim Joon didn't really have that many scenes, but he was good and I'm fairly certain the only reason Kim Hyun Joong is here is because they needed another "flower boy" and were running short. He's really not that great of an actor, but pretty moves mountains. I'm not a hater, since I'm a huge fan of his music, but maybe he can brush up on his acting. Ko Hye Sun, frankly speaking, annoyed me to no end. Not just her character, but her in general. I don't think I'll ever watch a drama with her ever again. She's not a bad actor, but I don't feel like she's particularly good either. Plus, her chemistry with Lee Min Ho felt a bit forced.
Music: I'm still not sure if it was meant to be so funny. "Almost Paradise" killed me no matter what scene it showed up in. The director was really unwieldy in using the music wisely and spacing out the songs, so most of the other music grated on my nerves by episode 15.
Rewatch Value: Ha. No. Never. You would have to pay me to get me to sit through it. This drama may have been other people's favorite, but to me it was tedious and long. The plot spun in circles and the angst shot through the roof and there was still no plot beyond Jan Di and Jun Pyo.
Overall: This drama was so popular for a reason, I guess. Pretty is such a powerful force its nearly sentient. Another reason? If you were sincerely rooting for the main couple and honestly really liked them together, you would watch just for them and for the gratification that came with seeing them together. If you really did not care about the main couple, you would probably throw your computer out a window.

Why did I first start watching this drama all those months ago? I had absolutely no reason to do so, seeing as I was relatively new to dramas and had yet to hear about Park Shi Hoo or Moon Geun Young or any one else, for that matter. I only watched the first episode and then had no time to finish it, so it remained on hold until two days ago, when I finally decided to clean up my "Currently Watching" List.
Story: While this drama isn't addicting, it does have its golden moments that make the whole thing worth watching. Park Shi Hoo's character was involved in pretty much all those golden moments, as I loved Cha Seung Jo to bits and pieces. His was the first KDrama lead who was actually legitimately crazy and not just emotionally stunted. As for the rest of the story, it was really interesting. I expected Han Se Kyung to be the typical "Candy" lead, but she wasn't. She was an angry candy girl, who decides to do whatever it takes to fix her situation in life. To be honest, I never understood the typical "Candy" characters. They supposedly spent their whole lives being independent and trying their hardest, only to completely depend on the male lead when he comes along all rich and prince-like. Cha Seung Jo said something along the lines of "The poor 'candy' loves everything about the hero- except for his money. Does that make sense?". That has pretty much been my problem with characters like that. Se Kyung actually did add money into the equation, and that made her more relatable as a character.
Acting: Park Shi Hoo is a brilliant actor, personal life aside, I want him to be in more dramas simply because he's legitimately good. True, he has a tendency to overact, but with this character it just helped add more flair. I have yet to see him anywhere else, but his works are on my "Plan to Watch" list. Park Shi Hoo's chemistry with Moon Geum Young was intense and sizzling in the first half, but by the second half- due to cheesy writing more than acting, the chemistry toned down to the cutesy, less intense type. Moon Geum Young is supposedly a good actress (never seen her anywhere else), but here her character never felt quite right to me. I felt this huge emotional disconnect and could never bridge that gap. So Yi Hyun was good in this, but not amazing and the same goes for Kim Ji Suk. This may or may not be due to the fact that compared to Park Shi Hoo, everyone else seemed less... good at acting? I'm not really sure how to phrase my thoughts about it.
Music: I actually loved the OST. We had the typical balllads thrown in, but this time we actually got an upbeat, pop-rock song too! And it's not even a music drama! My excitement knows no bounds.
Rewatch Value: For the OTP scenes. Shi Hoo's and Geum Young's characters were really well matched for each other and had a lot of great moments.
Overall: A little slow, but there's plenty of laughs and craziness to keep you watching till the end.

This drama is mainly about a detective who was once a police detective but demoted because of a case. He's a genius - like detective who was actually trained to be so genius - like. In the drama they try to solve this mysterious case while they also solve other cases.

Here's the thing the drama was quite good but not really good at the same time. It's one of those dramas where you'll say well ok I've completed it without having to push myself and I don't regret watching it but it's not something I'll keep in mind. Thus my overall rating is between fair and average.

Renbutsu Misako's and Matsuda Shoda's acting was really good and also the acting of the other actors was really good. The music as far as I listened to them was good.

The not so good aspects: It's the typical drama concept of these genre. You have a rather big case which is followed throughout the drama and then they also solve each episode a case. In this drama what disappointed me was the great final of the drama. It was rather so so compared to the exiting undercover investigations our main lead had.

The good points of this drama are Matsuda Shoda!, good detective story! well-acted drama!

I simply started watching it because I was a big fan of Lee Dong Wook as I wanted to listen to Junsu's beautiful OST at the same time (pity that the osts weren't that many!). However I don't regret it. It had many surprises.. from Jihyo and Ji Min to Jong Ho and Yoobin.

As I said, the cast was excellent. I couldn't catch a fail on their acting... It was all credible and well-done.

As for the characters... Won was really funny at the beginning and I think the drama could have been better if they added more of it at the middle of the drama. Da In was that kind of non-salt character, I didn't really like her. It was nice when she played the hate-love relationship with him but after that it was bad, she was too much of a strict/noble woman.. they had no chemistry at all, unfortunately.
However, the second main couple compensated it a lot. You can't help but fall for them.. and if you do, you'll suffer a lot. The drama scriptwriter was playing with us, I found myself holding my fists just with the thought that one of them could die. ~~~
The romance between Baek and Kkeok was also nice but very subtle for my taste.
The king and the princes were also amazing... if I was a commoner then I'd want to have fair kings like those.

The only thing that I disliked was the plot. I found it very repetitive. What on the beginning started to interest us made the drama a bit boring on the middle. The matter took a long time to be settle... I feel that the drama could have been shorter instead of wavering around the same thing over and over again.

However, this is a drama that I suggest. I started watching it yesterday and finished today because it was really good :) And it's different from others as well ^^

I got into this show because the cast seemed interesting. They had my attention until the end, but a story that focuses too much on the office drama is hard to like, even if the romance is good. However I have come to like this show.

The story follows typical love triangle protocol where Lin Xiao Jie(Chen Joe) falls in love with her boss Gao Zi Qi( Gao Godfrey a.k.a future Magnus Bane... I can't wait!). Meanwhile, Tom(Zhang Han), a guy she meets in England falls in love with her. Both male leads have great chemistry with the female lead and you struggle to decide which one you want her to end up with which in my opinion sets it apart from other Taiwanese romantic comedies. Furthermore, it manages to make it hard to decipher whom she would end up with until the show starts to make its way towards the end. However like I previously stated this does follow typical love triangle protocol and for those that don't know what I'm talking about it includes exaggerated misunderstandings, second female leads that act like spoiled bitches, rich male leads, poor female lead(this one is more middle class though), funny assistants, sick family member of the male lead, and situations where the male lead look it like a douche. Cliche, but cute it had the makings of a great story. That is until the writers shove the working life of the characters in my throat. I understand that the environment the characters are in is an important asset to the plot and I understand that one of the main subplots emerged from the office, but when the work plot starts to be more stressed then the romance I can't stand it. That is why the story gets a 6(please put the blunt object down).

The acting was good. I love Chen Joe and in my opinion this role suits her image of a hard working female. Her character Xiao Jie is a hilarious drunk, independent women, who makes mistakes in love that people make. This was my first time seeing Zhang Han in a drama and I'm glad it was this one because he stole the show. His acting was so natural I wouldn't be surprised if this is how he acts in real life. Tom is such a down to earth person who loves hard in other words the nice guy every girl claims to want, but only a few would actually date(call me Tom!). This was also my first time seeing Gao Godfrey act and he is good, but I feel this role wasn't the best for him. Sometimes his acting seemed bland(especially dialogue), I understand his character Gao Zi is the Mr. Arrogance, but I felt his deliver with words were weak on some occasions. However what he lacks in words he made up for in body language. The guy is natural in the art of body language. From the passion of kissing to the superior stares, I felt that this was Gao Zi. This was the arrogant bastard who is sweet when he wants to be. The other characters where good as well except for Chu Chu(one of the second female lead). Not only did the actress seem dubbed, but the character lacked substance. Even the other second female lead had character! Character 8.5.
The music was good, matching the fluffiness of this drama. What probably made me like it even more was the fact this drama actually switched up the bgm instead of playing the same main theme OVER AND OVER AGAIN, but in different tones. Overall, I loved this show and I wrote this review while rewatching the show, so yeah the rewatch value is high.I would recommend this to Chen Joe fans or people who want some drama, but not too much.

To be honest, I was most of all confused with this drama. As you can see I did not give high marks (but hey, a 4 is still 'decent' according to MyDramaList, so I'm going with their system of grades).

The story starts out interesting, and to be fair, it had a lot of interesting ideas in it. A lot as in: too much. I always find it a bit painful when I realise what a show could have been, if it was just executed differently. There where some good plots started, but it all felt like 'so much to do, so little time'.

I did not really feel the romance in the story. To not reveal too much, lets speak of boy A and boy B.
I do understand why boy A liked her, because there is some development and some logic to it. I know love isn't always logic, but still. And to me it felt like boy B just out of the blue decided he loved her too.

And the boy she starts a relationship with.. arg... he just goes for it like: bang! I can appreciate that there is some action and he knows what he wants. But to me it felt like he nearly forced her into a relation she wasn't sure of she wanted anyway. I would have felt really pressured and uncomfortable. Isn't there something in between the 'I can't say my feelings' and 'you showed some interest, now you are mine until death do us part'.

And then the girl herself, she is a totally different story: make up your mind lady! The plot just keeps switching and switching and in the end it didn't feel like the choice was actually made...

The parts where she is 'writing her novel' were plain boring. I honestly think this whole subplot could have been erased. It was there that the acting was the most awful and the wigs made it even worse. To me it symbolized what a horrible story she actually must have writing, because the plot she wrote was worse than the plot(s) the actual drama had. Thankfully she had a change of career!

The Gumiho part was a nice twist, but it did make the story more confusing and forced in its plot.

There was only one scene I laughed. And it was a scene where she was crying. Because, you know... one of the boys she liked said he liked her like a little brother! (and not like a girl like she wanted).
Dear Bunny (horrible nickname), if you dress up like a boy, act like a boy, say you are a boy.. you can't expect straight boys to fall in love with you and develop feelings for you other than that of a brother or a friend. The rare exceptions who do develop feelings are what I said they are: rare.
I love the idea of people falling in love no matter there gender. But a straight boy normally doesn't feel attracted to another boy. And if he did say he was attracted to you, you would have a completely different problem: what if he only likes boys and he finds out you are a girl...

Anyway.

The music. Uhmm.. I just watched the last episode and I can't remember it. But it didn't bother me, so that's a pro.

I somewhat enjoyed watching it. But that is not enough. I normally love gender-benders! This one.. well.. this one was just there. I started really enthusiastic, watched it, got a little bored, skipped a little, watched again, felt confused, felt more confused, felt confused but also a bit amused by the confusion and then I was relieved the ending was there, because I couldn't take any more episodes, but at the same time I realised it should have had a few more to just explain all the story lines, and... well.. you understand.

This was a beautiful special. It came out of the blue and there were literally no promotions.

Kikwang plays the role of a leukaemia patient extremely well and the love between both best friends was evident.

Since it was only one episode long, there were some parts of the story that were underdeveloped but yet, I still enjoyed and I still loved it.

I would definitely recommend, besides, it's only an hour of your time. Why don't you take a watch and see for yourself?

In the beginning I was drawn to the interesting story plot, good casting, and because mystery and crime dramas happen to be my favorite. After watching the first 2 episodes I became hooked. This drama did a good job in keeping the suspense up, but ultimately in the end this drama became quite predictable. But that wasn't necessarily its downfall, because even then I really did enjoy watching this.

The acting was pretty good. I love Matsuda Shota, and haven't been disappointed with his portrayals in his dramas. So coming into this drama, I had high hopes of his performance and was quite pleased overall. As for the rest of the cast, there was no one else who I was really familiar with, but I did take a liking to Matsuoka Masahiro. He acted well and I enjoyed watching his portrayal of Terashima.. Same goes with Renbutsu Misako, I loved her portrayal of Kaori and how loyal and trusting of a character she was.

As for the music, I loved the drama's theme song. It was fitting for the drama and was upbeat and something anyone would enjoy. Overall, I liked this drama. It may not have been by favorite, but it definitely kept me guessing throughout all 10 episodes and was good in keeping up the suspension. I may watch this again one day, just not anytime soon. I recommend this drama for those who enjoy mystery/crime dramas, and if you're skeptical of starting this drama I suggest you really give it a shot. I personally enjoyed it, so hopefully you will too!
