Most Disappointing Watch of 2023
This is a touching, sentimental journey of young love that was brilliantly done in the beginning but then got lost in its time journeys to recapture its past. While in some ways the story was exceptional, its execution was unfortunately lacking in logic. Initially it had me hooked on the strength of its young actors playing the parts of their younger selves. Simply put, they were brilliant. This is a story of destiny but not on a linear trajectory. It is a destiny of love between two young men who were meant to be together but had to traverse different directions to get to the promised land. The love story starts out so beautifully between Saunsoon (Mix Wanut) a pensive, withdrawn, perhaps a bit emotionally frail young man, pretty much a loner whose escape is to go the movies. His name literally means zero which adds to his feelings of self-loathing until he begins to realize the power and impact that the number zero has. Along the way, he meets Ongsa (Tor Supakorn) who is, without question, one of the most enigmatic and complex characters in any BL I have ever seen. Tor’s performance is one of the best as he has to traverse so many aspects to Ongsa’s dimensions.

The worst season so far
Can we please spend some screen time on someone other than Gwan hee? I thought most of the female cast was ridiculously shallow and most of the men had very little screen time. In the previous seasons I could at least pretend that the cast wanted to find love. S3 is clearly about increasing their follower counts, etc. Everyone was just so fake. The producers clearly wanted more swimsuit time which just made this season feel trashy. I watch Korean dating shows because they tend to be less trashy. Oh well.I disliked this season so much I'm not looking forward to a season 4.

The story have a solid foundation, with compelling characters and an intriguing premise. However,
it seems as though the screenwriter failed to fully realize the potential of the story's trajectory. The plot points and character development are not fully explored, leaving the audience wanting more depth and complexity. With a more thorough execution of the story's arc, the narrative could have been more engaging and impactful. The production value of the scenes left much to be desired. The settings often felt lackluster and uninspired, with a noticeable repetition of the same stage to represent various locations within the story. Additionally, the use of random locations to convey specific settings did not effectively immerse the audience in the narrative. Furthermore, the excessive reliance on flashbacks did not contribute meaningfully to the audience's understanding of the characters' stories, and instead, felt disjointed and distracting. As a result, the overall visual and storytelling impact of the production was diminished, leaving the audience feeling disconnected from the characters and their experiences.
very problematic underage scenes. honestly i couldn't bare my self to watch the episodes where the 2 main character that were still underage did such thing. and it really bothers me that they really use a real life 15 years old kid to play that.
i give my apreciation for Yuki as this is his 1st drama debut. he potraying the character nicely. a bit stiff here and there but none of them are giving "bad acting" vibe.

Ignore the low rating, it's enjoyable!
Rowoon is handsome as ever but his comedic acting is far better in Destined With You. FL well suited to the role and I'll be on the lookout for her other works. The story is entirely entertaining--the only 'cringy' plot is the pairing of a teenager with a 27 y/o---in actuality I don't think the marriage would have been endorsed given the rank of the groom and the purpose (in those days) that a wife is chosen to bear heirs and provide political support from her family.
What works is that romance is in the air among several couples and it makes sense for the whole story vs. typical romances where you wonder why there is a second or even third couple story except as filler to make the drama long enough.
The intrigue and twists work to propel the story forward as well. And the actress who plays the Matriach hits it again in this role being evil but for a reason ..consider The Red Sleeve where she plays the senior court lady.

So far good
I've been eagerly waiting for this show to be released since it was first announced, and I must say, it was worth the wait. The show's beginning was quite surprising, especially how the younger versions of the main lead and female lead looked exactly like their older selves. However, it wasn't surprising to learn that the main lead, Park Jihoon, had a traumatic past since he always had tragic backstories in all the shows he has starred in. When the present timeline began, it was quite intriguing, and the acting was amazing. The fight scenes were especially impressive, and the way the main lead portrayed two distinct personalities was commendable. Overall, I think the show was pretty cool. The only downside was the song selection, which wasn't particularly good. Also, I wish someone would smack some sense into ML's father because why would you scold your child for something that he enjoys doing? Despite these minor issues, I would rate the show 10/10. I hope I'm not revealing too much about the plot.A couple of weeks as passed and my opinions kind of changed about this series. It's still interesting to watch but I'm not that kind of person to watch shows with sad ending like Weak Hero Class 1, so I'm hoping it a happy ending. So far, this series has made me cried a lot than the other series I've watched because of episode 9 and I never expected me to cry that quick after hearing the ML cry for 1 second. And omgosh Jihoon's acting is so good, you can just feel the emotion just by looking at his eyes and his voice omgggg and Yeji role suits her so well!!! Well, I'm hoping it isn't a sad ending or I'm showing up at the director place loll

BEST BL COMEDY
I didn't read the manga so I thought this would be a love-hate relationship. Because I thought Akafuji really hated Hajime at first, but it turns out he's a fan of Hajime. I think this is the best BL comedy I've ever watched, I always laugh when watching every episode. Their chemistry is very cute!!! Akafuji is very good and Hajime is very cute, I really like them.Too bad there are only 3 episodes. I hope this can be made into a season 2, I really miss them. I highly recommend this!!!! I think you can recommend this to people who don't watch BL, because I'm sure they will like the comedy!!

Not Kim Young Dae's best work
I'm a fan of the ML but while it seemed the story wanted to showcase that he could portray playful/silly and then serious and angsty--but you get way more moody angst from him that it just gets too tiring to watch, and FL killed it in Taxi Driver and even in Our Blooming Days in support roles but seems likes she's overacting in this lead role--and the makeup does not take advantage of her beauty.Watch Forbidden Marriage to see ML at his best--and for a far happier story. This one just stretches out so much sadness, angst, and tragedy for all of the roles that the little we see of happiness is not enough to make this a balanced work.
The premise of the story is intriguing and the only reason why I watched it to the end.

Burgeoning romance
Ichika and Amane show great character development as each has to step out of their comfort zone to make this arranged marriage work.At this time in Japan the role of females was very prescribed and Ichika has to overcome her upbringing, lack of confidence and the constant reminders by her Aunt and others that she is not worthy to be the head chef. Amane, being younger, has more modern thinking and his ideas are the catalyst for the ryoten restaurant and Ichika to solve the dwindling financial situation.
I liked the scenes where the couple work together to solve problems;
the American delegation not wanting Japanese prepared food
the US Japan women's group charmed with the bento boxes and making sushi rolls
the wedding reception on a budget
the competition to save the inn
The couple show a lot of consideration and respect and we can get glimpses of their feelings slowly changing to romance. They do not declare love at the end, however, they step closer and make a pact to continue together.
The manga is ongoing so it would be nice to get another season.

over-rated drama
Just finished all 40 episodes of this drama and must say that I am surprised to see all of the 10/10 and 9/10 ratings it has received. The drama started off strongly, I really liked the first 15-20 episodes or so. The plot moved along well with a great story line, liked the actors, also some good comedic scenes helped make the first 1/2 of this drama a decent watch.
Then somewhere around episode 25 this drama goes off the rails and just gets worse and worse until the awful ending. The last 15 episodes or so were terrible. Every episode seemed to have a 4-5 minute scene with the male/female leads being all lovey-dovey, sweet-talking each other with the obligatory love song playing in the back-ground. This got tiresome and repetitive. Every character seemed to experience a near death scene and then the other characters help them miraculously pull through. This got tiresome and repetitive. Each episode seemed to have 3 or 4 song interludes, starting to think the producers were either getting royalties or really trying to push the soundtrack. This got tiresome and repetitive. Each time a character died, there would be 7-8 minute montage of flashback scenes with that character, of course, with some song playing in the background. This got repetitive and tiresome as well. In addition, the drama had the worst ending of any C-drama that I have personally watched. It was like the script writers gave up and just wrote some nonsense to get this drama over with.
Gave this drama an overall rating of 2.0 solely based on the 1/2 half of the drama. Re-watch value should be 0 but apparently 1.0 is the minimum value I can assign. It was painful watching this drama once, can't imagine that anyone would go back and re-watch this a second time. This drama won't be showing up on any top 10 best drama lists, but wouldn't be surprised at all to see this drama on a number of top 10 worst drama lists though. Starting to think that the producers must have paid an army of people to give glowing reviews.

What I like most about this drama is the romance between the main leads. They really have the undying chemistry all throughout watching this and I felt butterflies in my stomach. On the plot, I would say since it is a "makjang" drama it is indeed unbelievable and it's really exhausting to watch. For the fact that it's too long, the angst and the anxiety watching this is there so it's pretty heavy on me as a watcher who is not familiar with this type of dramas. Overall, I would still recommend this to those who like "makjang" dramas and have the time to watch this.

Just something enjoyable to watch
My favourite part about this drama is the ML, hes a well rounded character and i love how the actor portrays him. They did well with the casting and I admire that he had to put on a lot of weight for the role. The rest of the cast are pretty good too.As for the storyline, I think it's maybe a little weak but it's definitely enjoyable to watch each week and I look forward to seeing how it develops. I also kinda think its intriguing to learn about traditional sports rather than just the usual drama sports like tennis.
