So well done...Great story...Great Cast

I loved this one. The details were so strong that I spend an afternoon researching to see if the book they kept referencing was real - I wanted to get a copy. And, if anybody just rolled their eyes - I have found two books this way. In Life is Sweet the lead couple discuss a Japanese book - in detail. I found it and am already half way through it.

I thought the relationship growth was handled perfectly. They covered all the possibilities and made sure that the mother (at the moment) had to pay for her choices. She had to live with it.

I also appreciated the truth in the way everyone lived. In many Chinese dramas they go out of their way to show clean streets, beautifully lit plazas and happy people shopping and dining. In this one we see happy people living with what they have and where they are. They aren't pining for a corporate job in a cubicle.

Highly recommend this one for anyone who wants to watch a relationship grow - in a real way.

Candid review and strictly personal opinion.

This series has good plot outline - I am someone who is quite fond of mystery, horror investigative series, this series falls loosely in this genre. I have only watched 4 episodes and I am dropping it.
This is mostly a comedy centered series .... I am a hardcore mystery horror and detective enthusiast ( strangers in hell(kdrama) psychopath kind of level)...So for someone like me this is kind of disappointing and not my cup of tea. So if you are like me try watching 1st episode and if it doesn't suit you can drop it.
But it also doesn't mean it is cringe or comedy all the time human emotions that drive you to commit crimes are portrayed seriously pretty well too...but it still wasn't enough for me to overlook everything else.
In short say u love something very unserious and just enjoy without exerting too much brain and enjoy melodramas here and there this might be upto your lane.
At times I thought they could have done better with cases and had more serious approach at least like THE GUARDIAN......

Anyhow the above review is personal opinion and purely subjective.... You might find it different considering on your tastes.

Not what I expected but the story carried enough momentum to keep me entertained. I do wonder if the show could be better with smarter editing. It's like someone just sliced the whole drama in 40 episodes, without putting any importance to the flow of the story nor capitalizing on cliffhangers.

Zhao Lu Si carried the heavy weight in this show. I love watching her scenes. She is a remarkable actress and I think any male lead would just shine next to her. I can't wait for her next drama.

Beautiful

Wow. It begins with a bang all while being beautifully shot. This drama offers beautiful cinematography, beautiful cast, beautiful ost, and beautiful storytelling. The first episode hooked me from the start and left me wanting more. I am 8 episodes in and the story is unfolding in such a lovely way i can already tell this is going to be an epic. Its full of action, angst, and has a male lead and female lead with a great driving force behind their actions. Their acting is captivating, I often find myself rewinding so that i can take in the whole scene and every facial expression. The manner in which the ML and Fl stare into each other eyes is probably my favorite thing about this drama definitely swoon worthy. I cant wait to see how this masterpiece ends.

Disappointed

Honestly I'm disappointed but not shocked, I didn't love the "Love In The Air" plot, honestly I never understood the hype for it, yes the NC scenes were good for both "Love In The Air" and "Love Sea" but both also lack plot imo, "Love In The Air" has a bit of a better plot than this one but God this one got boring fast, it took me a while to finish and honestly I just couldn't go through with it all and skipped the last 2 episodes and the special episode, all seemed boring as hell. After episode 1-2 everything goes downhill, I hate when characters have these backstories that are so annoying and the story just never goes well with it, it was just so so so so so so boring. The NC can't save this one. I'm rating it a 7 cause honestly even after episode 2 I was kind of hooked with the idea we would get something from the WLW story, but even that one was boring and weird. Also the quality was good, and other aspects of it were good so I'll make my rating higher but if it was just according to the plot, I would rate this a solid 6-6.5. Hoping for better, shorter BL series from them in the future.

true love story, healing trauma for the whole community

A story of healing true love in the aftermath of a national disaster. A quiet and delicate show, punctuated by the intrusive memories of the two leads of being buried alive as children in a shopping mall collapse. A fictional story which reflects a national trauma in '95; the show's accident happens in '05 and the action of the story is set over a decade later.

Junho and Won Jin-ah are brilliant in the leading roles, magnetic personalities with a powerful and romantic attraction to each other. Their performances overshadow a second lead couple who hold an important place in the script. The two pairs demonstrate a contrast between families broken by the aftermath of the disaster and those from families who were responsible and who retained relative wealth. All are psychologically scarred by it. A third lead couple is one of my all-time favourites because they are fully developed characters and funny without being over-the-top sterotypes.

The soundtrack by Nam Hye Seung, is compelling but not overpowering. Memories contrast the pastels of the intact mall and the following billowing clouds of dust and glittering shards of class, with the grey dark scenes of the entrapment and rescue. The RL scenes are shot mostly in a clear daylight (out on the construction site etc.) or a well-lit office where the first couple end up employed by the second.

To begin with, neither of the pair recognizes each other from the event so long ago. The FL has traumatic amnesia but deals daily with her parents' pain; they are unable to move on from the death of her younger sister. The ML only has one family member, his younger sister, left and lives in poverty; his opportunities were destroyed by his severe injuries and by the corrupt blockage of his family's compensation package. Slowly all concerned shift away from their long-held coping mechanisms: anger, forgetting, sadness, guilt and regret.

The favorite quote of one of the more unique characters (a loan shark by day and a doctor at night for those who cannot afford healthcare) is from Im Chul Woo, whose books often deal with the aftermath of the bloody Gwangju uprising of '80. "..Suffering, resentment and regrets are your strengths. With these strengths, somehow survive [this] ugly and frightening life."

A Studio Dragon show with the composers Park Sang Hee and Nam Hye Seung. Writer -- Yoo Bo Ra.

On my top ten best ever kdramas list as of 12/24: Goblin, Hwayugi, Because This Is My First Life, Just between Lovers; the K2, Run On, Doom at Your Service; Tomorrow, Alchemy of Souls (earliest to latest) and Mr. Plankton .

Too Much Needs To Be Improved

I know what I get myself into when I decide to watch these 12-16 episodes 47-1 hr shows that have been released lately or before, but I can't help but to let the urge win and still watch knowing I'll most likely drop it or skip through half of it because the show is just unnecessarily long for no reason. I didn't finish a lot of this show, but it wasn't that good for me to even continue to finish, a lot of things lacked, the acting was ok, it felt a bit rookie, and a lot of the times it was just so funny because the acting would be so bad and the script as well. The things they would say would make me laugh so much, it felt like I was watching a YouTube movie that those small but big creators make for kids under 12. I will admit, this show is not for those ages lol, the NSFW scenes were really good, except for when the camera angle would just go a bit lower than it should during the bj scenes and you could see the way they we're doing it, which looked so goofy and funny omg. This show is just super unserious but at the same time not? At least they fail at being serious. I also feel like we didn't see much of the WLW couple. And honestly during the moment I was skipping through to just catch a glimpse of the story I can see the WLW we're suffering more that the MLM couple. The MLM couple were just having intercourse every episode lol. But yeah a lot needs to be improved, this show felt low budget and high budget at the same time, there's just so much yes and no in this show that makes it bad. But overall 6.5/10.

Must-Watch BL Series! Highly recommend??

If you’re debating whether to start this drama, let me make it simple—just do it! From the very first episode, I was hooked, and the excitement never faded throughout the series. This is one of those rare gems where the storyline, acting, and chemistry all come together to create pure magic on screen.

The two male leads were phenomenal. Their chemistry was electric, and you could feel the emotions radiating from every scene they shared. Their acting felt so genuine and natural that it pulled me even deeper into the story. Watching them interact was such a treat; they complemented each other perfectly. It’s clear they poured their hearts into these roles, and I’m already hoping to see them reunite in another BL drama soon. Their performance here has set a high bar for the genre! 🥰

Another standout character was Grandma. She was such an iconic presence in this show! Her moments brought a perfect mix of humor, wisdom, and heart. I found myself looking forward to her scenes just as much as the leads. She added so much charm and depth to the series. 😆

The plot itself was engaging from start to finish. It balanced emotional moments, romance, and lightheartedness beautifully. The pacing was just right, keeping me invested the entire time without ever dragging.

In short, this is a drama you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re a fan of BL dramas or new to the genre, this one will captivate you with its heartfelt story, incredible performances, and unforgettable characters. Trust me, you’ll be thinking about it long after the credits roll! 🌟

First of all WOW. Second SAINTSHIN is my personality now.

I am so happy I gave this series a chance. I wasn’t even planning on watching it when I saw the trailer. But one day I was bored, and it popped up on my YouTube, and I was like, "Ok, let's see," and boy, am I glad I did. I didn’t know I could be attached to the "friendship" between two characters to this level before I watched HighSchool Frenemy. Literally, every episode was making me more obsessed with them. The chemistry is off the charts. The bROMANCE(which it is marketed as) is very strong with this one. The actors played their roles well.

Ok, so basically, the synopsis is like...there is this school with two separate campuses, Thep Burapha and Udon Pitahak...sorry if I spelled those wrong. The students of these two campuses have been enemies for years due to some reason. They hate each other, and I can’t stress the word "hate" enough. One day, the principal decides to just merge the two campuses to end this rivalry. It makes everything worse because fights just escalate. There is violence in every episode. Boys will be boys, I guess.

Amidst all this chaos, there are two central characters, Saint and Shin...our main characters. Saint is from Thep and Shin is from Udon. The thing about them is that they were best friends in the past, but due to some reason, their friendship ended, and they parted ways. Now they meet again after the campuses are merged but as enemies, and you can only imagine the tension, the angst.

I loved their relationship a lot...friends, soulmates, whatever you wanna call them. The way their eyes show anger, hurt, and regret. Their longing gazes. Everything is perfect. One thing I will tell you is that there are love confessions in every single episode. More than even straight-up romance shows. The two boys love each other a lot, and I can’t imagine them with someone else. Like, imagine being the wife and your husband loves his "friend" more than you and confesses his love for him every damn day. It would end in a divorce lol.

Jokes apart, this series is very fun to watch. So, just give it a try and get ready to swoon over their dynamic because they will give you pterodactyls, not just butterflies.

What this deserves

I’m watching this for the fourth time and I thought I had to write this.

As someone who’s always trying to see the best in every series, ratings below ★5.0 are mean; while ★5.0 to ★9.5 are thoughtful. And then it comes the ★10, an irrational number given because of the joy you’ve felt while watching it until the end. That’s why, so many good, amazing, extraordinary and wonderful series, are just given a ★9.5: because of the last smile, the last minute, the last scene, the last word spoken or the last silence shared. This series, definitely, deserves a ★10.

The drama is sooo good it is a perfect mix of romance, suspense, thriller, action and what not so stop doubting and give it a chance.
I thank the korean universe for gifting me this wonderful drama to end the year 2024...

The DAD Takeover

Recently, a Korean adaptation of this came out but I decided to follow all the comments to watch the Chinese version first. I have no regrets and would highly recommend that too. So much happened in only 7 episodes of Go Ahead that I can't imagine the Korean one being only 16 eps.

1. Family Dynamics
Story centers around 3 siblings who all suffer from a dysfunctional family in slightly different circumstances. They make their own family all thanks to the JJ's Dad and LX's Dad. Each sibling has their own issues and has missing piece of their family. I do wish they would've gone more into JJ's character. She was obviously the glue that held the whole family together, but I wish she wasn't just made the savior/happy pill because she most likely had her own feelings. I understand her role though.
If you have experienced the absence of a parent/ a toxic family, this show will tug at your heart strings. Incoming Daddy and Mommy Issues! The writer must resent their mother, because all the mothers in the show were not portrayed positively haha. The show has many family themes, but one of the recurring images is them sharing a meal together (so common in Asian families).

2. Romance
If you came in looking for romance, you might be weirded out or dissatisfied. I usually love watching romance, but this show offered much more than that. The first 15 episodes were so gripping and the sibling bond really made you feel for them. I could have gone without the romance and it may have been a little weird, but the romance was very well hinted since the beginning of the show. It was always clear that the Ling Xiao liked the JJ romantically, and the reasons for the romance had underlying meaning as well. LX was obviously a bit trauma bonded to JJ though, so it was clear he needs help with his mental health.

3. The Acting
It's so funny how the oldest brother is really the youngest cast member in real life. Yet the casting really worked out. Zi Qiu , the younger big brother's acting was great. He really nailed the feelings of loss, abandonment, and emptiness. I especially loved the bond between him and his dad. LX's mom was also really good at making viewers hate her; honestly her crazy eyes made me soooo anxious lol. I loved loved the kids, it was so adorable to watch the childhood moments. Very heartwarming!

Rewatch Value: 8/10
Such a meaningful, realistic story and very well done. I love dramas that make me feel something and aren't just empty tropes with attractive leads. A refreshing display of a father's affection; many stories and shows are very focused on mother's love.

Perfect fall/winter time show that makes you feel warm inside. Smile, tears, and laughter were all there!

I can't believe I did not rate this drama after watching it when it first released!

After visiting South Korea, they shoot some of the scenes from this Drama.
It feels so unreal I was walking through the same shopping mall they shot this drama.
I enjoyed everything about this drama, from the first episode to the last.
Great execution to Lee Min Ho, he is my favorite Korean actor and inspired me for
so many yrs. He has this amazing on screen presence where he makes you feel he
is next to you.
