Finally this is over! This drama was so boring it was almost a torture to watch. Why did I watch it then? I used it as background noise when I did my homework. I can't do homework if there is silence and music distracts me too much. What better background noise can there be besides a boring drama? I still got the story completely. It was very typical.

Story: Well it wasn't anything different. I could pretty much guess everything that was going to happen. It was off to a good start, it was interesting and all, but about through half of it it went downhill and by the end it was so boring that I was seriously considering dropping it.

Actors/Characters: Rain was awesome! I haven't seen any of his works before but I was aware that he's a pretty good actor. I got to see it first hand in this this drama. It was like he really understood the character and all his expressions, even the subtle ones, were spot-on.

I loved Krystal in Heirs. Here though she fell a bit flat. Her acting was boring and her expressions were bland. She went well with her character though.

Oh Myungsoo. Why must you make me go through this pain? I would be lying if I said that L and Hoya weren't the reasons I started watching this drama. But it was so painful to see Myungsoo's acting, I even cringed at times. I wanted to stop the poor boy, he looked so awkward and in pain. I didn't like his character either. He was supposed to come off as cute and Myungsoo did pull it off, what with that face and all, but if you look at the character itself then Shi Woo was a bit obsessive and stalkerish and very irritating.

Hae Yoon was right there with Shi Woo competing for the 'most obsessive' award. She won by a landslide. She was ssssooooo annoying!!! Like girl he doesn't like you and never will. Give up, it's been 12 years!

Seo Jae Young was supposed to be the evil guy. He was okay, mostly he just annoyed me. The other characters were okay as well. Hyun Wook's father was very annoying. His wife was actually pretty funny and I liked her. I really liked Se Na's friends, they were such a cute couple. Hyun Wook's best friend was cute (for an ahjussi) but some of his opinions annoyed me. Oh that ANA employ was pretty funny too. I noticed that they introduced some characters but never showed them again. The best example would be Yoo Ra Eum who is also on the poster. I was sure she had a more important role but she only appeared for a couple of episodes and her scenes didn't make sense either.

Romance: I read in many comments that people didn't like the romance between Rain and Krystal but I actually found it pretty cute. Their scenes together were adorable, especially when they were joking around and having fun.

Overall: This was an okay drama. I would've liked it more had I watched when I started watching kdramas. But I've seen a lot of great dramas now and this was a meh one. I would only recommend it to new drama watchers.

My Lovely Girl is one of the most hyped shows of 2014. And you could probably tell why because of the cast. This drama is Rain's comeback series after his military training. It starts f(x)'s Krystal Jung, her first lead role. Infinite's L is also in the cast. Hoya, another member of Infinite is there and Fiestar, an all-female K-pop band. The show gained this hype because of its popular cast.

Rain is probably a household name in Korea. Rain knows what's he doing. He's been in the industry for long. I think he was able to act out his character well. Krystal Jung, in my opinion, is such a very flexible artist. In The Heirs, she's able to play a rich, sassy girl. When you look at her photo shoots, she transforms into a high-fashion model and here she plays a funny and laid back girl-next-door. Infinite's L is adorable and funny. So what I mean to say is that the actors INDIVIDUALLY are talented, no doubt. However, addressing the issue that Rain and Krystal having no chemistry, I think they have chemistry AS actors (like brothers and sisters). But romance chemistry? NO. None at all.

It's not only because there's an obvious age gap (12 years) but the fact that Rain is just so...big and huge, it doesn't compliment Krystal's character. Which is why I'm suffering from second lead syndrome because L (or Myung Soo) has greater chemistry than Krystal that every time Hyun Wook (Rain) and Se Na (Krystal) have romantic scenes together, I just can't help but cringe. Yes, Rain does hug like a drama which makes it worst. There's no romantic tension AT ALL.

Hyun Wook is a character that's very bland. His prominent personality trait is just the fact that he's in so much pain from losing his girlfriend. Does he develop? I'm not even sure. He does have those moments when he tries to pull a joke or try to be funny but it doesn't suit Rain. It just makes me laugh not because it's funny but it looks pathetic. Se Na on the other hand doesn't have much characteristic to be called "lovely" or "lovable" so I don't even know why the title of the show is that (it could've been related to music). She's a character that's a mess with not solid foundation. (I may be biased here because Shi Woo, played by L captured my heart) but to me, he has more foundation than the two who eventually become canon. At least his character was explored, mommy-issues, outcast, lack of confidence thus, he uses his witty (or not so witty) jokes to look cool but he's scared deep inside. My only problem is sometimes it doesn't suit him because L looks tiny compared to Rain, it doesn't suit him trying to act all cool.

The lack of flashback in the drama also drag down the character's foundation, even the hate between Hyun Wook and Producer Seo is only evident because of his bantering but the lack of flashback doesn't create much tension or dynamic. Not to mention, Producer Seo isn't an effective of a "bad" guy enough. The show lacks that bad guy to keep the viewers excited about.

Realistically though, will a songwriter like Se Na make it especially in this age where education is valued so much more than talent? (especially in Asia even?) I don't know but you can judge that for yourself. That magic cellphone device was terrible too. And then it was forgotten later on. Which made is much more terrible.

Plot wise though, I find it rather pathetic that accidents have to play such a big role here. It's a plot cliche. It's also a plot cliche that Hyun Wook blames himself and punishes himself for it. It's also a plot cliche that Hyun Wook and Se Na are alone. It makes Se Na seem pitiful if she wasn't such a character who's hardworking then she'd probably will wallowing in self-pity. However, I find appreciate that the drama didn't go down the rabbit hole of complicated family issues of this actually being the father of whoever the hell this is cycle. At face value, it is indeed just a very simple and straightforward plot using music and the entertainment industry as a back drop but the romance becomes the driving force though sloppy. And then there's that annoying cliche of breaking-up-going-back-together that I really hate.

I also find the romance rather pathetic. (As I mentioned, the lack of chemistry is one reason) The other reason is the fact that I don't even know if Hyun Wook fell in love with Se Na because of who she really is or because she's like a rebound for the sister. I wish this issue was addressed more OR this could have been the struggle of their romance. After the "big" secret was revealed. The plot just declines especially Se Na's stupid reason to leave. The Big secret was a better reason to leave THAN her own reason for leaving. And using time skips suck. It started out really well and interesting given the conflicts that were presented to Rain's character for him to develop, hopefully. Then the pacing became sloppier later on.

Did music play a big role? Yes and no. I think it played a bigger role for Shi Woo and Se Na rather than Hyun Wook and Se Na. And I didn't like that though. But still, I like the soundtrack and Se Na's music style.

And that was a terrible ending. I get it if films want open-ended endings because it's just 2-3 hours short. But a 1-hour run of 16 episodes to have that kind of "open-ended" ending is terrible, there is not resolution at all. And it doesn't give justice to the characters.

But my favorite in this drama is none other than Dal Bong. Dal Bong is the one that captured my heart.

Smooth. warm-hearted and romantic. This drama hit all my buttons.

If you're looking for high ups and downs and or drama after drama after drama, this isn't for you. My Lovely Girl was smooth sailing through romantic waters with little or no trouble. Just the way I love my romance stories. The focus was on the relationship between Yoon Se Na and Lee Hyun Wook. The alternate title was "She's Too Lovely for Me" and all 16 episodes reiterate the struggle Hyun Wook feels that he loves her so much but he's not worthy of her. There was really nothing to take away from that focus so I guess some people would find it boring. I didn't. I didn't skip even a second of it. It was sweet and fluffy and full of romantic moments.

The secondary characters were also interesting for me. I liked Se Na's friend and her bf especially. They were supportive and concerned even while she couldn't contribute much to their household. True friends. L's character was also interesting and sweet. The only thing with L is that I wanted to see the other guys from his ex-band, I wanted to see how they feel now that he outstripped them. Cool L.
I liked everybody in this show. It really was enjoyable and sweet for me.

As I said, if you're looking for waves, and for spikes in emotion, don't look here. If you're just cruising for a straightforward romance more reminiscent of real life, then this is it.

The make lead was protective and sweet to the female lead. He was also much older and very caring. I loved it. Rain did a great job. I never cared for Rain much before this - thought his image was too hyped and I hated Full House because it lacked romance. After watching My Lovely Girl, I can now say I'm a Rain fan. His voice is so smooth heavy. Plus, his character pulled me in. I'm definitely going to watch "Please Come Back Mister" for Rain.

Music: I liked the score very much. It wasn't too memorable, but it suited the scenes it was played in.

Rewatch : Yeah, it's sweet and I like sweet.

Story: The only thing was the somewhat abrupt ending but honestly, I thought they could have ended it in ep 14 with one of the confession/ romantic moments. Everything was said and problems were solved. So by ep 16 at the end, there was nothing left to say to tie anything up since it had all been done before. With that in mind, it wasn't so sudden. Story was lovely. I wouldn't change anything.

In fact, I want more like it.

This is one of the most pointless, boring drama I have watched in a long time. I was really looking forward to Rains come back, the story is meaningless and made zero sense. I was so bored through out this drama and I can't tell you how many times I wanted to turn it off but because of Rain I kept torturing myself through it. Did ANA only have one Idol to promote and also it would have been nicer if we actually got to see more of the Idols performing and miss I suck the life out of everyone around me actually composing more songs AND actually doing what she was meant to do than just acting so pitiful. The ending, geez dont get me started on that crap. This drama should have been called she is not loveable instead!!!!

I lost 16 hours of my life that I will never get back :(

Well the truth is , I actually dropped this drama after Ep 7 and countinued watching it while playing forward (It was my first time ever doing it to a Korean Drama ! :\) !!!
Anyway , for those who want me to describe this drama in a sentance , let me be frank : If all you care about while watching a drama is seeing your Oppa (!) involved with a sweet typical Korean love story , this drama is Taebak for you ! But If you prefer to watch a Korean drama like a pro ... Please read below :
MY LOVELY GIRL , like any other media project has It's negative and positive points but UNFOTUNATELY
the negative points were more BOLD (or at least they seemed bold to me) !
THE MOST APPARENT negative ponit of this drama is NOT ATTRACTING THE AUDIENCE TO KEEP WATCHING TILL THE END !
So here's my list of NEGATIVE & POSITIVE points in this drama :
NEGATIVE POINTS (-) :
1 - Many parts in this drama made no sense to me BUT , WORST of them was in the 1st Ep : How could a girl call her death sister phone after three years and the phone is still ON and WORKING ??? (Is there an immortal battery or something?!)
2 - Everyone in ANA act extremly childish as If running a big company full of money-makers is a kind of joke or children's game ! HELLO ! YOU'RE ALL GRWON UP ! So would you mind stop deciding with your silly emotions ???
3 - The dialogs were CRUDE most of the time BUT still there were some good ones like when RAIN confessed he composed the best musics when he was in love ...
4 - Krystal (I can't remember her name in drama) seems as she's an intelligent GOD of music who's not been found yet , and the way RAIN says compliment about her , It made me think : IS SHE THE GIRL VERSION OF YIRUMA OR SOMETHING ? (*Yiruma : most famous korean pianist)
BUT you see that she's not even passionate about music and just keeps wondering around instead of using the great chance she's been given ! sometimes I was like : HEY ! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU ARE TO HAVE RAIN BESIDE YOU ??? GO PLAY SOME MUSIC !!!
5 - STUPID ACCIDENTAL MEETINGS !!! ( Example : THIS PRODUCER (SO) SEEMS TO BE EVERYWHERE)
6 - The very first challenge seems too stupid : Which company CEO would make a challenge between a professional producer who's been composing a group like INFINITE's songs for over 5 years and an amature composer (KRYSTAL) who doesn't show any special talent from herself ??? And worse than that : which professional producer would let go of his busy schedule and accept this silly challenge ???
7 - AND AGAIN : How a professional producer could runaway from this challenge and let go of his job , company , prestige and everything just because of a stupid pertinacity ?!!!
8 - Expected scenes ! Expected love triangles and so on ... This drama has nothing new to say !
POSITIVE POINTS (+) :
1 - Rain's amazing acting skills and feelings tranformation which I think was wasted in such a weak project ! In other words : HE WAS THE ONLY REASON FOR ME TO WATCH THIS DRAMA !
2 - One of the dramas which truely shows that idols are not always what we see ! (most of the fans STILL can't face this truth that idols are humans too)
3 - Krystal's acting was NOT BAD ! (Still not suitable to be RAIN's partner in this drama)
4 - Best dialog : One's memories makes a music , then a music makes one's memories ...
__________________________
Anyways ... Hoping for Rain to act in much better Korean dramas , I wanna thank this drama's staffs for all their did but THEY REALLY COULD DO MUCH BETTER !
Thanks for reading my words ! BYE :)

It was okay, really...

It started off really good and I waited for every episode to air. I didn't necessarily finish this drama to be honest. After ep 11 I just kept skipping through the rest.. I watched this for Myungsoo and Krystal but I'm disappointed.

Story: Okay, the story was just plain weird.. and creepy too. I felt like most of it was off and the author was just writing whatever...

Acting/Cast: I'm sorry but this is called acting..? Sorry Krystal but I thought she acted pretty terribly. She was just stiff the whole time and I don't really know, but I didn't like it. Myungsoo was okay.. He smirked most of the time though so.. There was no chemistry between any of them. Myungsoo & Krystal? No. Rain & Krystal? Lol... please stop.

Music: Some were good

Rewatch Value: Um, I don't think so.

Overall: The pace slowed down later and it just dragged. It was horrible. Waste of time for me. I don't recommend.

Actually I don't know why this drama low rated! , maybe it isn't master peace but its not that bad too .
.
I watch it because of curiosity , I wanted to know how it could be rated 6.9 .. specially I like Rain.

I admit it’s full of Clichés , but most of the K dramas based on clichés .. I can say that is a sweet clichés .

may be the problem was lack of Chemistry between Rain and Krystal but I really enjoyed the world of entertainment , the world of making music .

Rain : in his best performance , sexy , handsome , attractive .. (I really liked the way he hug her) .

L: (Shi Woo ) was really good and attractive .

Krystal : she did her best but I think she wasn’t the best choice for the roll . Zero Chemistry and she wasn't that lovely .

Where do I even begin with this.
I will start with the cast. Rain is a brilliant actor who portrays all emotions with raw and real precision, staying as human in a fake situation as possible and that was more than simply eye-pleasing to observe. From heartbreaking tears to cute acts of love everything was well done. Krystal, to my mind, with this has proven she has acting in her and even thought, I think, this was not that much of a challenging character, she did great and a more challenging role would bring out even more of her talent. INFINITE's L aka. MyungSoo, my dear dear MyungSoo... this was not his best work, I need to be objective and say that. There were some very, very good moments, but so many scenes were plain awkward I just wanted them to stop. I applaud his effort and I still strongly believe that he has acting talent in him, but this somehow was not his drama at all.
The plot that showed the hidden things of music industry and also the personal lives of those involved was good. The bts of the industry was highly accurate and I do hope that plenty of those who watched realized that this drama preached the reality - not all groups that are all friendly on-camera are like that when they go back to dorms, that preparing for a comeback faces more obstacles than we can imagine, that as much as writing a song can turn in a drama. Those aspects were shown perfectly.
Yet the persona relationships between the main characters were so predictable it was not even funny. I swear, the drama was at episode 6 and I told my friend all major events that will happen in the drama and guess what... they did indeed happen. It had a very typical drama love-line with very typical obstacles and very typical outcome. If you have watched enough dramas you definitely know this.
I am not entirely sure if I would recommend it to others nor am I sure that I would ever watch it again, but it was bearable and watchable. If you have doubts simply watch it and see with your own eyes is it a 'yes' to you or a 'no'.

Daddy long legs actually, that's the real title

Do you want to watch it but you are not sure because of the bad rating and reviews? Read this. I'll try to make as little spoilers as I can.
I've watched this drama 4 times already, and I finally forced myself to write this review.
This drama is about a forbidden love, in consequence the story and characters are difficult to watch for some people. I'll explain it in a very simple way:
-The main lead fell in love with an amazing woman but she passed away in an accident, he blames himself and actually we can say it was his fault (sorry, I do think so c: ). As time passes by, in a way of healing and some how to clean himself from his guilt, he establishes a daddy long legs relationship with his ex's little sister, he is basically her sponsor. -If you are into grow men in their early 30s you will love how good looking and good actor this man is -
-The main girl, is a very common girl, she is kind but has strong opinions and sometimes she is blunt. She has no one to rely on after her sister passed away, she doesn't even has the talent her sister had once. Without anything special, one can believe that she is the type of person you'll forget as soon as you meet, she is literally an ordinary girl. But there is something, maybe is the fact that she is depressed yet keeps going, maybe is that she works hard in anything she can so she can survive, literally survival instinct, maybe is that she is not afraid to ask for help and is not as innocent as it looks, maybe is her long hair and big eyes, or maybe is her bad luck. Who knows? Destiny and her dead sister lead her to meet the ML and then you get the title of this drama, it can be explained because of the ML, he is the one that finds her sweet and interesting. The one who helps and stays by her side.
-The second lead, in my very honest opinion I found him arrogant and childish in the beginning. He likes the main girl but he is too childish to notice it and he thinks she has fallen for him, which was really awkward for me. All in all, she just sees him as a friend, that's all, nothing else. As the story develops, he grows, he becomes confident and gentleman. Is nice to see him become a better man, but he won't be able to be her partner, so, you, as a viewer might develop a second lead syndrome. -If you like guys that look cute in their early 20s this is for you-

Keeping all of this in mind, is understandable that the FL needs someone strong and reliable by her side, she cannot keep living on her own as a young adult and needs help, she is not afraid to ask for it and that is something sweet to watch. Adulting is difficult and sometimes you can't understand what or how to do it, so, it is very nice to see the FL accepting help and saying: "I can't do this anymore". You might say she is still grieving and depressed, many people can relate to this.
However, she tries to work hard to stand up again, with some help she can do it, her friends are also very supportive, I've to say they are amazing, a young couple living together without getting married, in S.Korea?! that is new in a drama. Veryyyy, veryyy new, I loved this couple tbh.

The music, this component for me was awesome, I still have their soundtrack and listen to it pretty often, I LOVE IT.

Some people say the actors had little chemistry but I don't think so, the age gap works perfectly and I myself have watched interviews and bts cuts, I've to say they are very interesting together and somehow their dynamic of "I tease you now"
"you tease me later" is pretty catchy to watch. Plus, they are both so good looking.

Overall a good drama. Really enjoyed Rain's acting. I feel he was very believable in his role. I really liked Yoon Se Na in the beginning but towards the end I got tired of her constantly walking around in a zombie like state. And why the heck did she keep disappearing? It was just too much! Not the actresses fault, it was in the script.

The drama Loved it! Warning to people with the second leads syndrome!!!
I rewatch it sometmes AND still have a major second lead syndrome...sadly, but that bitter and sweet feeling makes me watch it.
The music was the best part of the drama to be honest. You can tell they are all gifted...
The acting was okay but still if story was better maybe i would have liked the main lead and the story did not help my second lead problem. If you are a fan of the Rain,L or Krystal go ahead and watch it!
If you think you'r out of good drama's to watch go ahead and see it :) even if you get the second lead thingy you will keep watching...even if you have to skip. The music, the cast and all the bitter sweet feelings i got are the reason i gave the drama a good rating
