The storyline was just unfair for me to finish watching it because the ghost was constantly taking over the human girl's life because of her greed and unfair death. However, it was supposedly ok for the dead to keep living and the living to constantly disappear because she was too cowardly to live her own life. Yes, it's a drama, and the ghost is getting a second chance, but no one on this earth truly feels their death is justified, so I could not see what this drama was trying to deliver to its audience.

In addition, this drama was hilarious and the romance was on point, but don't come into this drama thinking both the ghost and the girl is the main character, it's only the ghost hence the title which was my mistake. Also sometimes the drama was just jumping for one genre to the next because it would be mystery one minute and then thriller and then back to romcom. The inconsistency annoyed me, and I could not really come to like the main girl (ghost) because of her lies and her greed. The host was just too depressing and lacked any love for herself for me too like her.

However, I do compliment the romance, the comedy and the acting. But this drama was not for me, so I dropped it. When sometime has passed I might pick it up again. My only advice is don't think about this drama in a literal sense and you might just enjoy it.

I really enjoyed this drama. The story was really good although it did get a little bit slow in the middle, as most korean dramas do. It seemed like they tried to stretch the story a wee bit and rushed the end.

This was a really funny drama with a nice suspense as well but I wouldn't really call it a romance. It really made me think and feel for the ghost soon ae and really humanised her.

However, at times I was conflicted because Bong Sun seemed to be left out a lot, especially with the romance and Soon Ae got really annoying really fast. I think more focus should have been on Bong Sun, because strangely I feel that the ghost was the main character not Bong Sun.

I'd definitely recommend watching this drama, it's a must see just because of how different it is. However when it gets a bit boring try to stick it out until episode 12, where it gets a lot better.

I wanted to love this show so much, I really did, but there were parts that I just couldn't reconcile myself with, unfortunately. What I did love was So Jung Suk, who has very quickly become one of my favourite Korean actors, and his character Kang Sun Woo was in turn gruff and heart meltingly sweet. I thought Park Bo Young turned in an excellent performance as the introverted Na Bong Sun, as well as possessed Na Bong Sun, switching characters so seamlessly as to make the viewer never in doubt as to who was in control. The show did have a bit of a 'Coffee Prince' vibe, which I did like to a point, until it was almost a rip off at the end. I liked the supernatural elements, and villian was sufficiently creepy, and there were definitely a lot of fun moments as well. The chemistry between the leads was lovely as well, and I was rooting for San Woo and Bong Sun the whole way. My biggest issue was mainly in the first bulk of the show, was with ghost Shin Soon Ae herself. She was incredibly annoying, and I hated that even after Na Bong Sun agreed to the possession, she still had very little agency. Worst of all, was that Sun Woo himself never realises that he is actually dealing with two women. I feel that the show danced the line of informed consent, and even though the show tries to resolve the issue towards the end, unlike Sun Woo, I never got past it.

I can't stress enough how much pure fun this drama is to watch. The characters were lively, and this is honestly one of the most genuinely comedic dramas that I've seen. I'm about to talk about its flaws now, but just remember that these are very minor, and if you like romantic comedy in general, I am 99% sure that you will enjoy this drama.

I do wish that the subplot of the male lead following Bongsun's blog was a bit further explored, however. I think it would have allowed further depth into their relationship, and to him liking her for who she really is, and not the ghost possessing her.

Also, I almost stopped watching the series for a bit when (very minor spoiler) the ghost kept using Bongsun to constantly pester Chef into sleeping with her. It made him obviously uncomfortable, but she would still keep doing it. It was pure sexual harassment, and I felt bad that it kept being played as a harmless joke.

Wow! What a ride! After a lacklustre summer of kdrama watching I finally finished Oh My Ghostess and I absolutely enjoyed it! It is a wonderful conglomeration of fine acting, funky storytelling, tasteful use of popular kdrama tropes, a touch of mystery suspense, wrapped into a unique love story.

STORY

This is a love story after all, the genre says it is a romantic comedy but one that is uniquely its own. It is sweet, captivating, different and ultimately spellbinding.

First you have the one sided, unrequited love of the kitchen help for her good looking celebrity boss. And you also have the classic friends secretly pining for each other love line. And then lo and behold you have a virgin ghostess love story, masquerading in the body of her host and successful in stealing the heart of the leading man. And finally the new Bong Sun emerges from her shell. Lots of tender loving moments, tantalizing kisses and amazing chemistry.

It is also a show about friendships. True friendships never waver and this show has plenty of them including one that surpasses what the eye can see, trusting your body and memories to none other than a ghost.

This is also a show with attention paid to familial love. A daughter’s love cut short by her untimely death and a father’s regrets. A brother’s maturing journey from irresponsible son to a young adult ready to take on the man of the house role. It is rare in kdrama where we have the absence of a dysfunctional family and this show is one of those.

This is a tissue worthy show. I depleted half a box watching the goodbye scenes but that's me. I do cry easily. :)

ACTING/CAST

I am hard pressed to find a single character that did not belong in the show. Everyone has his/her purpose from beginning to end. Well-crafted characters do not come to life unless they are well casted. Excellent acting coupled with amazing chemistry simply made this production comes to life and utterly believable. Among the three leads, they were equal and perfect complement of each other, be it, looks, acting calibre, or fan attention.

Our delightful Ghostess, was consistent in mannerisms, tone, voice, and personality whether it was Kim Seung Gi or Park Bo Young acting the part. There are other shows where the transformation from child to adult characters fell short for me. So the very fact that I was a believer in Park Bo Young’s Soon Ae is a testament to her superb acting. Yes, there is plenty of aegyo throughout the show but it is not the cringe worthy variety. The cuteness serves to showcase the virgin ghostess story beautifully.
The suave and slightly arrogant chef played by Jo Jung Suk is spot on. He’s got enough charms and nice guy good looks that makes it believable that two women and a female ghost would fall for him. His chemistry with Park Bo Young is one to die for.

The Shaman. She reminds me of Ajumma in the Healer. An idiosyncratic but lovable, and fun character. She first comes across as the brash, no nonsense type that is out to catch all the stray souls left on earth but she shows us compassion and heart. The bond between her and Soon Ae rivals a mother-daughter’s. Her friendship with Seon Woo’s mom starts off business-like, a Shaman looking to milk a naive rich woman but her conscience wins over and their relationship turns into one of companionship and respect.

Seon Woo’s mother, Hye Yeong. When she first shows up on screen, I was like “Huh?” She looks so young and it is hard to believe she would be cast as the mother but as the story unfolds it becomes believable and it makes total sense. A highly educated woman with a modern view but one that believes in Shamans and the supernatural.

Not saying a lot about the antagonist since it will give away spoilers but it is nicely done and gives the show the right amount of suspense/twists.

The kitchen crew is a tight knit, hilarious bunch, led by the vain and colourful sous chef, Min Soo. The group’s banter is playful and endearing and definitely not wasted air time.

MUSIC

I have to admit I did not pay much attention to it since I was too engrossed in the show.

REWATCH VALUE

Definitely a yes. I do see myself picking this off the re-watch list someday.

This show is so refreshing. I don't agree with some people who said that the show is struggling about the genre, I mean does a show need to be categorized? If it's a romance, does it only need to talk about love? I will get bored if the show only talking about one theme.

I think the charm about this show is because of it's mix combination (comedy, romance, thriller, mystery), just like cooking, when u cook, if u only use one spice,HELLOW?? it would be so boringgggggggg! U should add more spices to make it flavorful. I like this show that it talks mainly about human emotion and r/s in it's own unique way.( I laughed hard, I scared, I was curious, I was angry, it also makes my heart feels warm, etc. mix feelings) It also makes me sitting in front of tv to watch this show until finish, coz i was curious about the ending.

The characters have their own growth too during the show. I mean, they become better person, they are not perfect but they try to be better, that's why i like this drama. I love human interaction is this drama as well. You should watch the show yourself.

STORY:
I love story about cooking, i love how the main couple becomes closer and become better person in their personalities and career too. They support each other to be better. I cannot explain well here, it just has it's own charm that makes me glued. It doesn't have ridiculous plot too. I feel that i learnt a lot from this movie about our life, about doing anything that u want while u r still alive. If not, u will regret it. The ghost and the girl r/s is also unique and they care to each other, the girl learnt a lot from the ghost. I also feel pity about the villain here because of his past, i dun hate him, i just feel pity, the show did not allow me to hate people here hehehe, that's why it's a plus point too. Making me feel that bad people also have their own story behind so i think i will have sympathy to this kind of people.

ACTING:
Superb, they are very convincing and makes me moved emotionally. I like jo jung suk now haha, park bo young is so cute and can act well, Kim seul gi is also daebak, Lim Ju-Hwan is very convincing to act as a psycho.

MUSIC:
It's good, i have downloaded the ost from itunes and i am listening it right now.

REWATCH:
Eh, i have watched it 2 times ahaha in fact, after one episode ended, i repeat some scenes that i like.

OVERALL:
A warm heart-ed drama, should have given 10/10, dunno why it only gets 8.7 score, haiz.

It's really good, but the plot gets slow in the middle. The character development in the ghost is good. Her whole story is bitter sweet since you see the humanity of a person who won't be able to live their lives. Kinda wished Bong-soon fell in love with Sun-ae instead. Since they had more development in their relationship than the main couple. Like the reason Bong-soon fell for Sun-woo are hard as she did is because he helped her. I don't I feel like their relationship is phoney since he began to date the possessed Bong-soon not the real one. He even says that he wished she didn't tell him that it all was a lie. I mean she doesn't even have memories of when they began to fall for each other.

This drama turned out better than I expected! After being introduced to it by a friend, I was quite unsure at first, I didn't get hooked into it right away, but after watching a few episodes, the story turned out to be really interesting ( not sure if it was actually really interesting or because I was binge-watching and didn't have to wait a week for the next episode so there was no gap..?). Even after sometime, the plot was really good and wrapped up well in the end. The actors did an AMAZING job, really impressed with Park Bo Young, she played her characters really well, the chemistry between the 2 main leads is just too good. Apart from the leads, even the other characters are played really well, all have some sort of backstory that connects them but all of them give the viewer a well understanding of themselves. The music wasn't my favorite but it went well with the scenes and emotions. Overall, it's good lighthearted drama, I recommend it if you're looking for something that's funny, has a good story-line, with good chemistry between the leads, and overall good character development.

amorous ghost hijinks meets murder mystery meets HEART...

This is one very rare drama in that the second half was a whole lot better than the first half. This is not to say that the setting up of the story in the earlier episodes wasn't entertaining, it was hilarious; however the show didn't balance the story equally enough between the two female leads. Episodes 1 to 10 devoted way too much attention to the relationship between the ghost and the male lead, a lot of the romantic progression, the little moments that mark a blossoming love relationship were shared with the ghost instead of with the real life person Bong Sun; This was incredibly frustrating. From episode 11 onwards show picked up momentum and sailed to a very smooth ending.

The acting is what makes this drama special, the actors appear to have had a fair amount of freedom to express their roles, this is especially evident in the staff dynamic at Sun Restaurant, I enjoyed the warmth and camaraderie of the whole crew at the restaurant, it felt organic, never forced or practised.

Park Bo Young gives an impressive performance as Bong Sun, she has incredible range, from the shy and reticent Bong Sun to the brash and feisty Soon Ae to the new and improved Bong Sun, she encapsulated them all effortlessly, she's definitely a new favourite of mine.
Jo Jung Suk is such a great actor, so convincing and effortless, the chemistry he had with his leading lady is so natural and warm, they were never awkward, always warm and engaged, such a joy to watch.

All the other supporting cast is great, especially the shaman lady.

This is a solid drama if you're willing to overlook the rather aimless beginning; It has wonderful emotional payoff in the last episodes with an extremely satisfying ending.

I didn't notice the music that much, the instrumental pieces are appropriate where they're used.

Overall 8.5 out of 10

I wouldn't classify this as a comedy. It's definitely a drama. There's more serious moments than laughs

The plot was okay and the acting pretty good. Park Bo-Young did a wonderful job portraying two very different people.

The romance aspect of this drama fell short for me. The main couple was very cute and sweet, but there was no heat between them. There was no spark. They had great "friends" chemistry but no romantic chemistry. I didn't buy they were in love.

But I absolutely loved the other four kitchen guys acting like annoying older brothers to Bong-Sun. The kitchen antics were fun!

Great actors, badly aged writing

So I wanted to watch a spooky drama for the spooky season and I've had this one in my list for a while. Park Bo Young is one of my absolute favorite actors and she does not dissapoint in this one either. Although you can see my score isn't that high for this one. Overall I think it's a great concept BUT I don't think it has aged very well. The ghost comes on veeerrryy strong and in 2023 it's kinda hard to watch TBH. This is being justified in that she is a desperate ghost and does not think about anything else but they really paint it as fun and innocent... On the other hand the character Na Bong Seon is the polar opposite, really shy and has no self confidence whatsoever which just makes both the characters very annoying at a start. However they do become better and even likeable as the story progresses. It's very impressive playing two characters and a chracter playing another character etc. It goes meta and Bo Young really does a stellar job. I think what makes me not like this drama so much is the writing which hasn't aged well. Watching it with comments on on Viki really got me through it at times but the last couple of episodes were really enjoyable. Would I watch it again? No, I even thought of dropping it at times ngl but the actors and the stunning corgi kept me in it. Characters that pulled through was the Shaman character, the mom and the restaurant gang. The leads were a lot at times. So actors did an amazing job, concept great, writing not aged good. Those are my thoughts. Feeling warm about the drama now as I just finished it but I also remember the journey... Of to watch Daily dose of Sunshine now. ☀

i really enjoyed this drama. at first i thought it was one of the better paced shows i had watched, but when we got around to the last 5 episodes you're so curious about the Soon Ae's plot that you could really care less about Na Bong Sun, and i realized i'd felt that way for most of the show.

Bong Sun is really the second female lead, her character fading into the background next the the boisterous and interesting Shin Soon Ae. The actress that played Bo Young did an excellent job capturing the energy of Soon Ae, who was so fantastically portrayed by Kim Suel Gi that i hope we'll get to see more of her in the future. Jo Jung Suk was perfectly serviceable. His character was a little blah which made it easy for him to be showed up by characters like Joon and Kyung Mo, both of whom i spent most of the show wishing were the leads.

i cant remember any of the music now, so that means it was neither annoying or fantastic. even though i'm a rewatcher i dont see my self coming back to this any time soon there were a few plot choices made that i felt brought down the over all quality of the drama, it was so nearly perfect these stung even more, and i'm not interested in reliving that.

overall great drama certainly worth your time if you enjoy rom com.
